Bowdon
<p>Ok, I haven't seen this question asked yet.</p><p> </p><p> I'm going to move my game over from this old XP machine to the new Win10 one I have. So I do the unlicense thing. But where do I get the .exe file for the new pc?</p><p> </p><p> Do I have to copy the directory over or can I download the .exe from the website?</p><p> </p><p> Edit:</p><p> </p><p> Ok, I had to use the shortcut in the start menu, which had a path: "C:\Program Files\GDS\WMMA3\UNWISE.EXE" /W1 "C:\Program Files\GDS\WMMA3\INSTALL.LOG" </p><p> </p><p> I've tried adding the -unlicense tag on the end. It doesn't seem to show any license number. The game just starts normally. I tried cutting the last bit off and typing "C:\Program Files\GDS\WMMA3\UNWISE.EXE" -unlicense</p><p> </p><p> Which still doesnt work. The game doesnt even load if I do that.</p><p> </p><p> I don't have any desktop shortcut, and surely it would be the same path anyways as the start menu shortcut? So what is the correct command line to type to unlicense the game??</p>
Adam Ryland
<p>You just download the installer from the web site and re-run it on the new computer.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="39991" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>"C:\Program Files\GDS\WMMA3\UNWISE.EXE" -unlicense</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Unwise is the uninstaller, it has nothing to do with the license at all. Full instructions on how to uninstall are in the FAQ pinned to the top of the Technical Support forum.</p>
MrSelfDestruct
So I just did the free update the other day and didnt see this. I'm not entirely sure if I set up the games before the update though.. I'm still able to play the game, no issues. Is there something you guys need to do? Blackman
Just mentioning here that updating W10 to the anniversary edition (or whatever the name is; you need it to play Forza) does the same thing (in case it hasn't been mentioned). I thought it was just with upgrades. It's not... <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Jacksonwyatt
Windows 10 Upgrade I upgraded Window without declined the game license and its works without any problem
LoganRodzen
This is the same for the Windows 11 Upgrade. Although, I forgot to unlicense my copy of TEW2020 and it asked for me to license it upon first launch (after Windows upgrade). I was able to unlicense it from within Windows 11 and relicense directly after. Thought I would throw this out there for anyone who might be a Windows Insider like myself. McMenemy
I no longer have access to my old laptop for which my game was licensed on. Can someone let me know what I need to do to get my old machine unlicensed so I can license my new machine please?
Adam Ryland
You would need to contact Scott. Details are in the license FAQ pinned to the top of every technical support forum (at least for my games).
steev42
Or GDS could continue modernising and put more games on Steam, so we don't ever have to worry about the scourge that is Elicense ever again! Just saying.... Quoting to give a thumbs up. elicense is just awful.
reign
I brought a new pc after mine died. How do I go about getting my game unlicensed so I can re install?
Adam Ryland
There are unlicensing instructions pinned to the top of every technical support forum for my games, including what to do if your old computer is unaccessible. The TEW2020 one, for example, is here.
