OVERALL SHOW GRADE: B

Enomoto and Toshitala spent the entire match trying to set up the other for their respective submission finishers. Toshitala did end up locking in the Toshitala Triangle but only as the time elapsed in the match. Predictably, Toshitala didn't let go right away and was pulled off by the staff members and young lions. Ryushi Sato, who was one of the young lions, grabbed Toshitala and threw him across the ring with a Belly to Belly Suplex! After being restrained backstage, Sato was simply heard saying that what he payback for Toshitala's lack of involvement in their Six Man Tag last Wednesday. He promised to give him a lot more the next time they're in the ring together.

The Amber Piledriver is a Flip Piledriver. Hiraki was in a celebratory mood backstage with MYSTIC Force after scoring his first pin as a Burning Hammer member. He respected Okamoto but really wanted to pin him after his braggadocios comments on the last show. He thanked MYSTIC Force and the fans for their support. Shimedzu returned the gesture and told him to keep striving to improve. Dragon briefly talked about his former Rebel Hearts partners Shiomi and VENOM. If anyone should know what he's capable of, it would be them. They knew about all the battles, both in the ring and out, he's fought. He could withstand anything and with Shimedzu, they would prove at Fire Dream of the Immortals that their win over them wasn't a fluke. Okamoto didn't have much to say, still reeling from the Amber Piledriver. Shiomi spoke up. He and VENOM had been a team for a while. Allowing themselves to lose to a maekshift team like Dragon and Shimedzu was indeed a fluke. Despite their past ties with Dragon, he and VENOM felt the loss was eating away at them because they lost to a team with virtually no experience. It was time for he and Shiomi to assert themselves back in the Junior Tag Title division once again. They departed, leaving Okamoto by himself. He was still in pain, but he said Hiraki got lucky and that flippy shit he pulled he would be ready for in their next encounter.

Shimakage hit Kokan in the back with a chair as he was running the ropes. That led to the finish of that match.

Both young lions involved in the 5 on 5 Elimination match between Kasou-Gun and Seikigun scored big wins....in their own unique ways. In their post conference, Nakasawa applauded his protege for his work ethic. It was on full display as he pinned a very capable power fighter. He told him he would be very important for the rest of Seikigun to beat Kasou-Gun come Fire Dream time. Nakasawa made it clear to Black Magic that he meant what he said last week. This was more than a match, this was a fight. They had bullied Takemura around and dishonored the name of Burning Hammer. As the Ace, it was up to him to lead his team to beat them at Fire Dream. Be ready for a fight because that's what they would get.

On the other end, Shimakage boasted about his very nefarious victory. He was CLEARLY the best of the young lions. He didn't understand the fuss among the press. He won by fair and square methods. Just like Kiyaru did earlier. A guy with a stupid afro like Fujio had no chance. Masuno laughed. His afro really was really shitty. His parents allowed him to walk out the house with that on his head? They must not love him and rightfully so. He was a dweeb. What dojo did he come from again? Taira commented that next time, he would cut off that afro so he can be accepted back into his parents' house. After taking turns poking fun at young Fujio, Taira talked about the 5 on 5 Elimination match. Regardless of what the press was saying, this was a FAIR battle. A battle Kasou-Gun would win. He and Masuno were tired of hearing how Nakasawa and Horri and even that pissant Toshusai were the kings of the Big Five. Even though Horri lost the Burning World title to Kikkawa last April. Even though Nakasawa has lost his last two PPV big matches. Even though Toshusai in general was an annoying shithead who wasn't worthy to even be in the same class as he and Masuno. They were wrong. the 4th Generation runs through Black Magic. The Awesome Kiyaru, along with Scorpion and now Silver Tiger, reigned over the Junior Division. What happened at the beginning of this tour was on their conscious but it would all be erased at Fire Dream. He insisted that he would bring Nakasawa a box of issues when he cries after failing AGAIN in a big match and that after the show, Kasou-Gun would prove they were the premier unit.

Horri used the Burning Lariat again to defeat Optimus. Before he and the rest of his Seikigun teammates could begin speaking, Kikkawa, Iesada, Saito and Okazaki made their way down to the ring. Kikkawa, in particular, was very much annoyed. At first, he found Horri's use of his revered move to be a sign of flattery and further proof that Horri dreamed of being him. Now he was simply annoyed. His version was flawed. He himself was flawed while Kikkawa was a God. The God of Burning Hammer. It was disrespectful to mock and wrongfully execute a move Kikkawa made famous. If this tactic was an attempt to play mind games, it would fail. Did Horri remember how many times he's lost to him over the years? What made he think the result at Fire Dream would be any different? Did he really think he could dethrone him as Burning World Champion? He was foolish. Just like Toshusai was foolish for thinking he could even challenge for the mantle of King of Fighters, a title he created. Toshusai? The same little punk that used perform comedy side shows on the undercard? Was this really the best the Seikigun could do?

Toshusai, who was in the ring, got angry. He was restrained by Horri and the rest of Seikigun. He instead grabbed a mic. INSPIRE just loved talking about what people could and couldn't do. He was tired of hearing about destiny. Seikigun carved their futures with their fist. While he wasn't as gifted as Horri or Nakasawa, he and Horri would give INSPIRE a shock to their system and take their respective titles. Iesada disagreed. The Goddess had already made her verdict. Toshusai was a born loser from birth. Horri would be inferior to Kikkawa forever. There was nothing they could do to change that. Horri interrupted. Change was coming in four days. With his fire and the electricity that flowed through Toshusai, they would put an end to INSPIRE's reign. Unlike them, Seikigun possessed "the will of Burning Hammer." Together, they would destroy INSPIRE's vision for it. Kikkawa scoffed and ended by once again claiming that Horri would always be a dreamer.

Once INSPIRE left, the Seikigun members closed the show with the usual babyface speech. They told the fans to support them in their numerous battles at the PPV.

FIRE DREAM OF THE IMMORTALS 2013

After all the build up during the first few weeks of the Burning Hammer season, the first PPV of the year, Fire Dream of the Immortals, will hail from the Kobe Football Stadium in the Kinki region! 30,000 fans will be in attendance to witness what should be an incredible night for Burning Hammer. The competition inside the Burning Hammer ring has never been more fierce and that will be on display as old rivalries are renewed while new old will be created at Fire Dream of the Immortals.

Main Event

~Burning Hammer World Championship~

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/BHOTWG_World.jpg

Tadiyuki Kikkawa(INSPIRE) Vs Kinnojo Horri(Seikigun)

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/tew/images/1/16/Tadiyuki_Kikkawa.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20080624031738 Vs. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/KinnojoHorri.jpg

(V5 for Kikkawa)

Backstory: The storied rivalry between Tadiyukki Kikkawa and Kinnojo Horri will have another chapter written at Fire Dream of the Immortals. Since 2004, Kinnojo Horri and Tadiyuki Kikkawa have engaged in an on again, off again battle that has seen Horri chasing Kikkawa in more ways than one. When Kikkawa and the INSPIRE Four returned to Burning Hammer, they made their intentions known to everyone that they intended to rule over Burning Hammer. While the likes of Horri, Hiroaki Nakasawa and others have fought the resistance against INSPIRE, it was last April when Kikkawa was finally able to recapture the Burning World Championship against Horri himself. The self proclaimed Grand Emperor of Burning Hammer Eleven months later, Horri has a chance to regain the Burning World Championship and cause a huge dent in INSPIRE's momentum. Kikkawa claims that he will crush Horri's dreams once again but as we've seen throughout the years between these two, anything is possible.

Semi Main Event

~King of Fighters Championship~

http://s137.photobucket.com/user/Tigerkinney/media/INSPIRE.jpg.html

Tasuku Iesada(INSPIRE) Vs Tadakuni Toshusai(Seikigun)

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Alts/TasukuIesada_jhd.jpg Vs. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/TadakuniToshusai.jpg

(V2 for Iesada)

Backstory: The King of Fighters Championship was the premier title in the now defunct INSPIRE promotion. It's often considered a symbol for the now infamous INSPIRE Four rebellion and the last true memory of INSPIRE the company. The INSPIRE Four returned to Burning Hammer, bringing the title along. At first, it was a non-sanctioned title held by Tadiyuki Kikkawa, claiming it was the true premier championship unlike the Burning World Championship. When Kikkawa lost to Yasunobu Masuno, it signaled the beginning of the King of Fighters becoming a Burning Hammer sanctioned championship and in the grand scheme, the first glimmer of hope for the rest of Burning Hammer against the invading INSPIRE.

Tasuku Iesada, in his words, "restored" the King of Fighters Championship after bringing it back to INSPIRE with his win over Masuno at Night of the Burning Hammer. Immediately, "The Shocker" Tadakuni Toshusai made his intentions for the title clear. Often regarded as the weakest of teh Big Five/4th Generation, Toshusai through the years has grown from a comedy wrestler to now one of the top wrestlers in the company. At Fire Dream of the Immortals, Toshusai will go into his first ever singles title shot against Iesada. And while this match, like the main event, is a INSPIRE Vs Seikigun showdown, this match will be more than meets the eyes. For Toshusai, a win validates his status and silences his critics. For Iesada, he claims it's Toshusai's destiny to be a failure. The reason why he was unfit to be called a champion, let alone the King of Fighters championship was because of birthright. The energetic, emotional Toshusai hasn't taken kindly to these repeated comments by Iesada. To put it lightly, while the King of Fighters Championship hangs in the balance, pride and respect will also be at stake. Can Toshusai pull, what many would call, a mighty upset and unseat the #2 in INSPIRE?

~Burning Hammer Junior Championship~

http://s137.photobucket.com/user/Tigerkinney/media/BHOTWGJunior1.jpg.html

Elemental III(Seikigun) Vs Sensational Dragon(Silver Fleet Rising)

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/ElementalIII.jpg Vs. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/SensationalDragon.jpg

(V3 for Elemental III)

Backstory: The Junior Championship will be contested between two men that are no strangers to each other. Elemental III, Sensational Dragon and Marihito are widely considered to be the "Three Pillars" of the Junior Division. However, the title of "Ace" remains a polarizing conversation. There are many that feel Elemental III is the best the Junior Division has to often while others believe that honor should go to Sensational Dragon or Marihito Masuko.

If you compare both Dragon and Elemental III's careers, a lot of similarities arise to the surface. Both were highly touted upon their debuts and high expectations were placed on their shoulders; though one could argue the pressure was heavier on Elemental III due to being the third incarnation of the legendary Elemental lineage. The two have exceeded those expectations and then some. The brash and overly confident Sensational Dragon's ego was definitely bruised when he lost the Junior Championship back at Quest of Heart to Elemental III and he's been impatiently waiting for this match to redeem himself. The Third Junior Wonder, now in his second reign as Junior division(his first since his debut year in 2008), is looking to establish himself as a stand alone performer outside the shadows of his predecessors. Interestingly enough, both Dragon and Elemental III's mentors, Optimus for Dragon and Elemental II for the Third, had numerous epic battles back in their day over the Junior Championship. At Fire Dream of the Immortals, Elemental III and Sensational Dragon might have a battle that surpasses those great battles their mentors had in the past.

~Special Singles Match~

Masaaki Okazaki(INSPIRE) Vs Natsu Miyamae(Silver Fleet Rising)

http://s137.photobucket.com/user/Tigerkinney/media/MasaakiOkazaki.jpg.html Vs. http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/NatsuMiyamae.jpg

Backstory: Perhaps the most mercurial bout on the card, the ever increasing physical feud between Masaaki Okazaki and Natsu Miyamae will collide in a match that we're sure will be hard to contain. After years of finding success in the Tag Team division alongside Shimedzu and even a decade ago in the Junior division, Miyamae is emerging as a formidable competitor in the heavyweight division. Masaaki Okazaki, always the antagonist, is skeptical about Miyamae's status. During a Six Man Tag Match on the first show of the year, Okazaki targeted Miyamae, taunting him and practically, disrespecting Miyamae; highlighted by taking Miyamae down and punching him in the back of the neck in laughter. This was the kick starter to several pull aparts and brawls between the two competitors and it was only inevitable that they would be placed inside the Burning Hammer ring.

Okazaki hasn't let up with his mocking of Miyamae; both physically and mentally. From insisting Miyamae's a "two-bit player" to stealing his Viper's Grip submission and using it on fellow Silver Fleet Rising member Heihachiro Sakai right in front of him. Miyamae has had success in every division he's competed in however this will be his biggest test as a singles competitor. A win over one of the top heavyweights in Puroresu will not only settle this personal feud but it will also propel Miyamae's rise even higher. One thing's for sure, this will be a fight.

~5 On 5 Elimination~

Kasou-Gun(Yasunobu Masuno, Yasuhiko Taira, The Awesome Kiyaru, Golden Scorpion & Ieyoshi Shimakage) Vs Seikigun(Hiroaki Nakasawa, Marihito Masuko, Kansuke Konda, Hyosuke Kokan & Atsumori Takemura)

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/YasunobuMasuno-1.jpghttp://s137.photobucket.com/user/Tigerkinney/media/YasuhikoTaira-1.jpg.htmlhttp://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_TheAwesomeKiyaru-1.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/GoldenScorpion.jpg & http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a527/Kitarzu/Tigerkinney/IeyoshiShimakage_zpsecea332a.jpg Vs. http://s137.photobucket.com/user/Tigerkinney/media/HiroakiNakasawa-1.jpg.htmlhttp://rs81.pbsrc.com/albums/j231/bsumystic/MarihitoMasuko.jpg~c200http://s137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_KansukeKonda.jpghttp://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/HyosukeKokan.jpg & http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/AtsumoriTakemura.jpg

Backstory: Since the formation of Kasou-Gun, they have butted heads with the Seikigun. While the Seikigun represent the "core values" of Burning Hammer; honor, respect, heart and integrity, the Kaosu-Gun have made their names for being dishonorable, arrogant an underhanded. After losing to Hiroaki Nakasawa and Kinnojo Horri on the first show of the year, Yasunobu Masuno and Yasuhiko Taira declared that they would get their payback. Since then, the Kasou-Gun has amped up their antagonism on the Seikigun; from Black magic bullying Nakasawa's protege Atsumori Takemura to Ieyoshi Shimakage mocking Murai Enomoto; calling him "Jimi" Enomoto. Nakasawa had enough of this and he along with the Seikigun have stood strong and fought back.

After a surprise Six Man Tag that didn't go in the Kasou-Gun's favor two weeks ago, it was Taira that made the challenge. 5 on 5 Elimination. The only way to win is if all members of one team is eliminated. Perhaps it's not a coincidence that Kasou-Gun made this challenge when they knew the Seikigun is shorthanded thanks to Horri, Toshusai and Elemental III all dealing with title matches. Regardless, Nakasawa stated that the time for talking was over and he and Seikigun simply wanted a fight. The longstanding feud between Kasou-Gun and Seikigun will reach a new level of competitiveness come Fire Dream of the Immortals.

~Burning Hammer Junior Tag Team Championship~

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/BHOTWG_JuniorTag_zps8fefb390.jpghttp://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/BHOTWG_JuniorTag_zps8fefb390.jpg

American Panther(American Optimus & Red Panther)(Silver Fleet Rising) Vs Maverick X(Hachigoro Maeda & Haru Kurofuji)

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/BlackEagle_alt5.jpghttp://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/PhenomenalE_alt1.jpg Vs. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_HaruKurofuji.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HachigoroMaeda.jpg

Backstory: This marks the third match on the show where the champions will defend their championship belts against the competitors they've took those belts from. The last time American Panther was Junior Tag Champs, they were apart of the shady Kasou-Gun unit. They lost those titles at Night of the Burning Hammer(thanks in part to a botched inteference by Ieyoshi Shimakage). After rejecting Optimus' pursuit and desire for American Optimus and Red Panther to change their ways, they finally broke away from Kasou-Gun and joined the newly formed Silver Fleet Rising.

Now fighting on the honorable path, American Panther looks to regain the Junior Tag Titles against the team they beat them; Maverick X. The team of Hachigoro Maeda and Haru Kurofuji have flew under the radar but they've become one of the premier teams in the Junior Division. It's also noted that Maeda has apparently dedicated this win to all the "Maverick Hunters" in the crowd....still, Maverick X is looking to prove that their win over American Panther wasn't a fluke and that people should take notice of them.

Team REVIVAL(Nissho Yuusa & Toshiki Shibanumo) Vs KawaRaishi(Sessue Kawate & Sanetomo Shiraishi)

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/NisshoYuasa.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/ToshikiShibanumo.jpg Vs. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/SessueKawate.jpghttp://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/SanetomoShiraishi.jpg

Backstory: The unlikely team of Nissho Yuusa and Toshiki Shibanumo face a stiff test against the veteran KawaRaishi duo for their Burning Hammer Tag Team Championships. When Yuusa was kicked out of Kasou-Gun in June, it was Shibanumo who was the only one that was willing to help out the man who made a reputation for being a bully. Despite still showing flashes of his villainous past, Yuusa has become a humbled and focused wrestler wrestling alongside Shibanumo and that culminated in winning the titles against the Bulls of Fury team.

This match was made after Sanetomo Shiraishi made Shibaunumo tap out in a Six Man match three weeks ago. We've also seen a rather intense exchange between Shiraishi and Yuusa steamed from KawaRaishi's belief that Shibaunumo is wasting his time teaming with a "lazy" wrestler such as Yuusa. Shiraishi, in particular, hasn't forgotten the times Yuusa would dismiss him back when Yuusa was in the Hinote Dojo training to become a wrestler. A win for KawaRaishi would tie them with their fellow veteran comrades Bulls of Fury for the most Burning Hammer Tag Team reign with 4. A win for Team REVIVAL perhaps will go a long way with Yuusa earning the respect of the veterans.

~Eight Man Tag Match~

High Tension(Heihachiro Sakai & Mitisunari Fugunaga), Fuji Narahashi & Ryushi Sato Vs Bulls of Fury(Chuichi Sanda & Eiji Hamacho), Tatsuya Toshitala & Brandon Smith

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/HeihachiroSakai.jpg, http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/MitsunariFugunaga.jpg, http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/FujioNarahashi_zps1daffe39.jpg & http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/RyushiSato_zps02cffbf1.jpg Vs. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/ChuichiSanda.jpg, http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/EijiHamacho.jpg, http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/Burning%20Hammer/TatsuyaToshitala.jpg & http://rs118.pbsrc.com/albums/o109/hrdcoresidebrns/PGHW%20Dynasty/BulldozerBrandonSmith.jpg~c200

An interesting Eight Man Tag Team will take place as the newly formed High Tension tandem of Heihachiro Sakai and Mitisunari team up with Ryushi Sato and Fujio Narahashi to team on Bulls of Fury duo Chuichi Sanda and Eiji Hamacho, Tatsuya Toshitala and gaijin power fighter Brandon Smith. With the recent rumblings that Tatsuya Toshitala has caused the young lions, a couple of his enemies will be on the opposite side. Narahashi, who was a victim to the Toshitala Triangle and Ryushi Sato, who's had the biggest issue with Toshitala that started when Toshitala didn't help out his partner in a Six Man Tag Match. This escalated when Sato caught Toshitala with a Belly to Back Suplex after Toshitala refused to let go of the Toshitala Triangle on Murai Enomoto.

It'll also be interesting to see how the volatile Toshitala interacts with the equally intense Bulls of Fury , who surely will not put up with Toshitala's antics if they surface. And, you have to wonder with High Tension forming as a team that eventually, they will face Bulls of Fury down the road. It all makes for a very intriguing encounter.

~Opening Match~

MYSTIC Force(MYSTIC Dragon & Shimedzu)[Silver Fleet Rising) Vs Yoshi Shiomi & VENOM

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MysticDragon_alt1.jpghttp://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/Shimedzu.jpg Vs http://s137.photobucket.com/user/Tigerkinney/media/YoshiiShiomi-1.jpg.htmlhttp://s137.photobucket.com/user/Tigerkinney/media/Venom-1.jpg.html

Backstory: Mystic Dragon and Shimedzu have recently decided to form a tag team and pursue the Burning Hammer Junior Tag titles. Calling themselves MYSTIC Force, their first step towards that goal was a success as they defeated former Junior Tag Team champions Yoshi Shiomi and VENOM. After the match, the veteran confronted the MYSTIC Force backstage, declaring that their victory was a defeat in an uncharacteristic show of dishonor.

While they have since apologized for that gesture, Shiomi and VENOM still persist that MYSTIC Force's win was a fluke and that they wanted a rematch to prove it. After challenging MYSTIC Force to a rematch, they will get that chance at Fire Dream of the Immortals. Both teams are vying to get in the Junior tag Team title mix and in the case of Shiomi and VENOM, perhaps they're looking to stay relevant as they've been past by at bit in the division. Can MYSTIC Force legitimatize their first win as a tag team and move forward in their quest for Junior Tag Team gold?

Hajime no Zion #6 in Yamanashi

Sunday, Week 2, March 2013

"Meh between me and you, I kinda wish we were able to switch and I was the one that would be interviewing KawaRaishi. That way you would be stuck with Yuusa and Shibanumo." Masato looks at me, flashing that sly smile that he's become known for. We were sitting here inside this hotel room that we shared for the night, talking among themselves about how we would approach this joint story. We felt it was important to make sure we were both on the same page because while these interviews were separate, overall they would be combined to make one story.

I'm not use to sharing a room with anyone. Granted, it's still not even a year since I started working for Burning Hammer, but for the most part, I've spent these nights on tour by myself. For the week or so, I've followed that same path. However, lately Masato has been pitching the idea of "rooming" together and at first I honestly felt weird about it. I didn't really have that many friends growing up. I just kept to myself, studied as hard as I could and made it out of school. There wasn't that many kids growing up that shared the same interest as I did and even those that did, it's not like I became close to them.

Within nine months of working for BURNING Weekly, I've come to meet two people that do. Yuki-chan and Masato. Generally speaking, our conversations revolve around either anime, manga, Burning Hammer and/or Puroresu and while I'm sure some people would find that to be rather repetitive, I find those conversations to be really fun. I wasn't expecting to have two people I could relate to. Or better yet, two people that wanted to become friends with me. It's one thing to work with your peers and maintain a business-like relationship with them. You see them, you give them the customary wave an maybe even a brief back and forth about how the other is doing and that's it. It's another thing to actively seek friendship with someone and it’s a feeling I’m not used to feeling. It’s hard for me not to appreciate the gratitude Yuki-chan and Masato have shown me.

“Why’s that,” I asked him. I wasn’t sure that he was joking or not. I’ve never been good at detecting sarcasm and Masato is one of those people that’s always adding in a sarcastic remark here and there.

“You got the easy assignment. KawaRaishi should be a cake walk for you. Stubborn, broken down old men that probably should retire but instead keeps fighting until they can’t move anymore. These two guys past their prime have another chance, maybe even their final chance, to win the titles. It’s a story that writes itself Zion.”

“Maybe so but I feel as if you could do something really cool with Yuusa and Shibanumo. If you think about it, they mirror KawaRaishi in a lot of ways. Yuusa is the disgraced monster who’s always been this antagonist. This bully that looked down on everyone and thought he was entitled to the greatness people always pegged him for. And then, his unit kicks him out, he gets humbled for the first time ever. Just when it looks like everyone has abandoned him, out of nowhere, this veteran comes in and decides he’s going to team with him because no one else will. Now they’re the tag team champions.” After I finished, I heard another laugh escape Masato’s mouth.

“You know I’m messing around with you right? But remind md if I ever need to convince someone to do something to bring you along because that was a hell of a salesman pitch there.” He paused as he slowly ran a hand through his hair.

“I’ll live Zion although I really like that one point you brought up. How Team REVIVAL mirrors KawaRaishi. I didn’t think about it like that. I didn’t see the comparison at first but now thinking about it, I can see it. That’s pretty brilliant actually. The only problem is that this approach is easier said than done.”

“How so?”

“I mean, I’m not worried about Yuusa. I think I can get something out of it. But Shibaunumo? He’s not exactly Mr. Personality. There’s a reason why he never talks.”

Masato wasn’t lying. I respect Shibaunumo for his longevity in Puroresu and his knowledge of the sport. However when most of the fanbase consider you to be one of the most dullest wrestlers around, I could imagine how interviewing him could look like a mountain to climb. Puroresu is all about wrestling and the competitive atmosphere it creates. Fans expect these wrestlers to be well versed in their craft. They expect to see the finest competition possible inside that wrestling ring. While North American wrestling generally favors those who are more “entertaining” and less on who’s the best wrestler, in certain instances personality and showmanship does separate the good wrestlers and the great ones. It’s not necessarily the be all, end all. Tasuku Iesada, for example, isn’t the most charismatic man in the slightest. But he carries a presence and an aura about him that elevates his excellent in ring skills. It’s that presence that’s covered that flaw about Iesada and has made him one of the premier wrestlers in the sport. Conversely, Tadakuni Toshusai does ooze of charisma and energy and while he’s not a polished competitor, he appeals to a wide range of Puroresu fans. Shibanumo, while throughout his career has been a solid but unspectacular wrestler, unfortunately doesn’t process that charisma. I think that’s a shame because there’s something about someone that’s been wrestling for almost three decades that fascinates me. Puroresu is a tough sport on the body and I imagine Shibaunumo’s body is falling apart. And yet still every show, he’s out there, giving maximum effort. People like Shibaunumo I fell don’t get enough credit for their dedication. I’m sure he knows he isn’t the best but he’s a true professional. Wrestlers like him and Enomoto I think are the most relateable wrestlers because they’re not these super talented, larger than life individuals. They’re just...ordinary. Like any other normal person expect they are wrestlers.

“I think you’re selling Shibaunaumo too short,” I responded. “Who knows, maybe when you interview him, he’ll open up a bit,”

“Haha you’re optimistic Zion. I like that about you. That still doesn’t change the fact that you’re getting the better end of the stick. Especially too with that recent article the new guy wrote about the history of Hinote Dojo. He managed to get Shiraishi to chip in with a few comments. So you can build off that and plus you know he and Kawate are going to be nothing but grumpy old men.”

Masato smirks yet again before he looked directly at me. “By the way, did you read that article yet?”

I nodded my head to confirm that I did. Bakin was the other “new guy” in BURNING Weekly. I do remember when Mister Harada was making his recruitment pitch to me, he did mention that there was someone else he was considering offering the job too. He didn’t necessarily out right say it, but Harada had hinted that he intended to hire one person, not multiple. I guess Harada liked us both so much that he gave jobs to both of us.

“Yeah I did. I thought it was a good read, I enjoyed the interview with Hiraki-san. Bakin did a great job characterizing him and allowing his character to shine through. Coming out of that interview, I felt myself rooting for Hiraki-san and I think that was the main objective. So I thought he did a solid job.”

“I agree with that. It was really cool but then again I like Hiraki so it was already a plus for me. How do you feel about that? About Bakin that is?” I looked at Masato with a puzzled expression. I didn’t quite get what he was asking.

“What do you mean?” Masato laughed a bit.

“You know, you two are the newest guys here and Harada has already given you guys these awesome assignments. I mean, when I started, he had me working on the website for like a year before I even got a chance to actually write a story. Yuki is still assigned to do website stuff. In fact, if you was to ask any of the writers, they would tell you their first year they had to work on small stuff. Even the Trinity. He hasn’t done that with you or Bakin.” In honestly, I haven’t thought much about how the first nine months of working with BURNING Weekly have gone or my status within everyone. I think I’ve just been concerned with simply adjusting to this new lifestyle and enjoying all the changes that’s happened. When Harada gives me something to work on, I don’t really think about how big the task is. I just see it as just that. A task. A writing piece. Something that I can seek my teeth into.

“Thanks but I think you might be making a big deal out of that,” I tell him. "I'm nothing special you know? I'm just a writer just like you. A writer that if he doesn't do well on this interview is going to feel Harada-san's wrath or worse yet, back at home typing anime reviews on a blog that no one reads." Masato didn't say anything right away. Instead, he got close to me and put his hand around my right shoulder.

"Listen man, you're stressing yourself out. This is suppose to be fun. We're working for the one place that's responsible for most of our greatest childhood moments. The magazine we grown up begging our parents to buy for us. We get a chance to interview guys we've grown up watching. This is fun Zion. You should be happy."

I looked at Masato for a moment as that grin only grew on his face. I admire how laid back Masato is. It's almost as if nothing can faze him. He had a certain level of confidence about him that you couldn't learn. It was natural to him. He and I were on two sides of the coin. He was the cool, calm and collected guy that everyone gravitated to. And I was the kid that found more enjoyment watching hours of wrestling than actually trying to talk to people not because I wanted to but because I was that people would think of me as a jimi. If this was high school, we would never be friends. But we are because of one common love. Well, because anime and manga of course. We're here because we love Puroresu and love Burning Hammer. Maybe he's right. I keep saying that. I should enjoy this ride. I keep telling myself that but I'm not sure if I know how right now.

"You know what, let's take a break. How does going to the bar and getting some sake sound?" He jumps up and gives me a look. The "C'mon Let's Go!" look. I'm not used to having a lot of friends. This job has revealed that even more to me. Thanks to BURNING Weekly I can be comfortable with guys like Yuki-chan and Masato. Maybe Masato's right. Maybe i'm viewing this wrong. yes it's a job. yes I'm gratitude for Mister Harada for thanking a chance on me. But perhaps the most important element I'm missing from this experience is the most underrated and, quite frankly, the most undervalued component and that's simply living in the moment, Enjoying the moment. I know I should and it's something I want to do. But all things are easier said than done. Still, it's worth a shot and I want to put my best foot forward.

OOC Note: I've been really busy over the past month and I've been trying my best to keep this active. I'm glad I'm finally able to get this off. If all things work out well, I can do the article tomorrow and then start working on the show. Here's hoping for the best :)

Also, thanks again to those that have supported this. I appreciate all of your comments and I don't want to waste that.

OVERALL SHOW GRADE: B+

MYSTIC Force celebrated their win backstage. Now with two decisive victories over Shiomi & VENOM, Shimedzu felt as if that legitimized their status as a tag team. The debate of whether or not their first win as a team was over. Dragon followed by stating a quick message. Whoever walked out the Junior Tag Team Champions, MYSTIC Force was coming for them. Even if that meant potentially gunning over their fellow Silver Fleet Rising brethren American Panther.

Once again, Toshitala refused to corporate in a team setting. When he wasn't in the ring, he would stand on the apron and do nothing. This drew the ire of Bulls of Fury, Hamacho in particular, who slapped him at one point. Eventually, during the final stretch, he got into a brawl with Sato, which didn't stop even after the pinfall was made. The two had to be kept apart shortly after.

KawaRaishi was seconded by their veteran comrades for their title match(Super Joshuya, Hidekazu, Yasujiro and eventually, Bulls of Fury.) Afterwards, KawaRaishi was in a somber mood backstage. Kawate was convinced that he and Shiraishi could win the titles once again. While they were old and broken down, they had wrestled together for a long time. Some of his proudest moments in his life have come from teaming with Shiraishi. In fact, in some ways he wouldn't be alive if Shiraishi wasn't there for him during his darkest hours. They're time was coming to an end soon but he wanted to believe that they could delay the inevitable. Now that they've lost, he wondered did their window officially shut. The normally grumpy Shiraishi was barely able to speak due to the punishment he received from Yuusa. He begrudgingly gave Yuusa credit. he still thought he was a fat, lazy son of a bitch but tonight, he proved his worth. He then also assured Kawate that while they may never receive another shot at the titles again, he would fight alongside Kawate until they couldn't walk. No matter what, it will take a lot to put away these old, stubborn bastards.

Maeda attempted the Beta Blocker on three occasions and failed every time. This threw him off his game and nearly cost Maverick X the titles. Post match, Kurofuj took him to task. He has to know when to turn to something else when your initial strategy isn't working. In battle you have to have multiple back up plans just in case. Especially considering the Junior Tag Team division was heating up with new challengers coming around the corner. Maeda admitted to losing his cool when he couldn't execute his most powerful move. But all that mattered was that all the Maverick Hunters in the universe saw them retain their championships! It didn't matter who their new opponents where; MYSTIC Force, American Panther, Dr.Willy, he and Kurofuji would turn back any challenge. The numerous Megaman references continued to confuse Kurofuji, however.

Nakasawa found himself alone two on one against both members of Black Magic down the stretch. He fought valiantly but the numbers game, along with the cheating outside, in the end was too much. Masuno and Taira didn't waste time taunting the Sekigun after the match. Taira mocked Nakasawa for once again losing at a big event. First it was Kikkawa, then it was Iesada, now it was to Kasou-Gun. How could these morons call him the Ace of their generation when he continued to choke? And the Sekigun? These guys thought they could beat the mighty Kasou-Gun? Between Takemura's shitty haircut and Masuko's clown make up, they should call themselves the Clown Army because they sure as hell wasn't strong. Masuno added that this proved without a shadow of a doubt that Kasou-Gun was the superior unit. Kasou-Gun taunted Skeigun some more before they eventually left the ring.

Backstage, Nakasawa was distraught. He came up short once again. Black Magic was right. He was considered to be the Ace. the gold standard. And yet, he's failed to end the reign of INSPIRE and now lost to his generational rivals. Masuko tried to cheer up Nakasawa. The words of cowards shouldn't stray Nakasawa on his path for salvation. Nakasawa thanked his friend for his kind words but that didn't change the fact that he let his friends down once again. He left the press shortly after, leaving his Sekigun teammates behind.

At intermission, President Kaneko gave the usual customary speech, thanking the fans for coming out for the first big show of the year. Before he left, he had a surprise for everyone that had been in the works for a few months. He was proud to announce the Battle of the Rising Hammer Tournament. The tournament was designed for the younger, up and coming wrestlers to make a name for themselves. He also stressed that this was also an openweight tournament so both heavyweights and super juniors would take part. However, this tournament wasn't restricted to just wrestlers from Burning Hammer. There would be sixteen competitors in this tournament with six being from outside Burning Hammer. The six "outsiders" were Noritoshi Miura and Sojoro Sen from BGC, Tobei Sugimura and Musashi from EXODUS 2010, Panda Mask II formerly of WLW and finally INSPIRE alum Tsurayuki Kamachi. They would be joined by Burning Hammer wrestlers Atsumori Takemura, Murai Enomoto, Ieyoshi Shimakage, Razan Okamoto, Reijiro Hiraki, Ryusai Sato, Tatsuya Toshitala, Fujio Narahashi, Heihachiro Sakai and finally White Samurai. The winner of this tournament would receive a special prize that would be revealed in the coming days. Kaneko closed by once again promising another exciting year for Burning Hammer.

Optimus accompanied Sensational Dragon down to the ring. Conversely, the second Elemental seconded Elemental III.

After retaining the Junior Championship, Elemental III praised Dragon. While he was boastful and arrogant, he was an incredible pro wrestler. They might not share the same views on life, but Dragon had Elemental III's respect. As he was continuing, he was interrupted by the appearance of Kiyaru. The veteran gave EIII some fake praise. He found Optimus accompanying Dragon to the ring and EII accompanying EIII to the ring to be cute. They were retired, battered men while meanwhile he was still wrestling. He had outlived the so called "greatest." When EIII asked Kiyaru what he wanted, Kiyaru cut to the chase. He wanted to purge the Junior division in darkness once again and that meant the Junior title. He better enjoy holding it because soon, he would take it from him. He departed shortly after.

Toshusai was quite emotional backstage, even on the verge of tears. He promised his fans that he would take the title from Iesada. He wanted to prove Iesada wrong and that destiny wasn't pre-determined. He fell short of finally living him dream and becoming champion. That crushed his soul. Still, he wouldn't give up. This was only the beginning and for anyone who thinks this will stop him, they would be in for a shock.

Iesada kept his message simple. Once a joke, always a joke. Toshusai couldn't change his destiny. The King of Fighters championship would stay with him for as long as he wanted to.

Kikkawa had an elaborate entrance. He was carted out on a plush red throne donning an all black body length coat with gold tassels on the shoulders and a crown on his head.

Kikkawa had words for Horri shortly after their match. When would he learn? Horri was a mortal man while he was a God. At first, he found this game to be amusing, now it was borderline pathetic. Horri could try as many times as he could, in the end, he could never trade punches with divinity. Today was a total failure for the Sekigun. They lost to Kasou-Gun, Toshusai was toppled by Iesada and now Horri was bested. Was this the best the 4th Generation could do? This was the generation that was suppose to challenge Kikkawa? It was laughable. None of them would ever rise to dethrone him. He was omnipotent. He was all knowing. He was the true ruler of Puroresu and in his Burning Hammer, the weak eventually get weeded out. INSPIRE(san Okazaki) stood in the ring for the title ceremony. Once that was over, Kikkawa continued. However, before he could, he was stopped by Black Magic!

Kikkawa grew angry. Masuno and Taira had some nerve interrupting the Grand Emperor when he was speaking. Especially considering he had already defeated Taira on two occasions during his current title run. Masuno countered. While that may be true, he was wrong about something. Nakasawa, Horri, Toshusai weren't the class of the 4th Generation. He and Taia were. The 4th Generation ran through them. Secondly, Masuno pointed out there was a certain someone that had beaten Kikkawa twice. He took the King of Fighters Championship from him, he took the World Tag team Championships from him; with his own Wrath of God finisher he added. Now? He would take the World Championship! Taira then doubled down and directed his aim towards Iesada. Beating a small fry like Toshusai didn't prove a thing. How about he fights someone that was greater than him? Iesada brushed him off. His destiny was similar to Toshusai. Beneath INSPIRE. INSPIRE didn't run from anyone because they were the strongest. Iesada accepted. Kikkawa then also accepted and vowed that Masuno's victories in the past happened out of luck. This time, he wouldn't have luck on his side. Kikkawa went to set the challenges for the next show however Taira stopped him. They didn't want their respective challenges to take place at Test of Prophecies. They wanted to do it at Burning Hammer's home base in Kanto two months from now. Sword of Destiny, the King of Fighters and Burning World Championships would come to Kasou-Gun. Kikkawa wasn't surprised by this. A pair of underhanded, dishonorable fighters like them who try to prolong the inevitable in hopes of finding a shortcut. He and Iesada were fine with their request. In the end it would be futile.

Black Magic soon left and right as Kikkawa was about to continue, Miyamae stormed past Black Magic and into the ring! Kikkawa was seething. Another inferior person showing disrespect to him. Miyamae quickly refuted Kikkawa, telling him that he wasn't here for him. He wanted to wait til the main event to do this and at first, he thought Taira had beat him to the punch. But now that their challenges was two months ahead, Test of Prophecies was wide open. He had already proven to their fallen comrade Masaaki Okazaki what happens when they disrespect Natsu Miyamae the man. He proved tonight that his ascendance up the heavyweight ladder was no accident. Now, he wanted gold and he wanted Iesada's King of Fighters Championship! Iesada pointed out that tonight Miyamae managed to catch Okazaki on a bad day. But if he thought he was truly worthy to be on INSPIRE's level, he would gladly send him back to reality. The match was agreed.

Once Miyamae left, INSPIRE finally got to close out the show. Kikkawa found it comical that the likes of Black Magic and Natsu Miyamae think they could really knock INSPIRE off their thrones. They were the Heavenly Kings for a reason. No one was fit to wear the crown. One by one, Kikkawa would purified the sport of Puroresu that was dirtied by the Big Five. One by one, INSPIRE would resurrect Puroresu and mold it in their image. With the Burning World Championship and the King of Fighters in possession of Iesada, INSPIRE was unstoppable. One Rule, One Reign. INSPIRE: Gods Among Men, Gods Among All.

OOC Note

So yeah.....I'm back. It's been an insane last few months. At the beginning of January, I lost internet in my household for a solid month. That obviously sent everything out of wack. Once I got it back, I debated on whether or not I wanted to continue this. With that said, I felt like I said, mainly because I wanted to. And now that the internet seems to be stable now, I decided that I would try my best to keep this moving. Plus, I have some really cool things that I want to do. So yeah, let's see how this goes and again, thanks to everyone who has supported this. Here's hoping for no one unseen hazards down the pipeline!

Battle of the Rising Hammer Bracket & Information

by Yuki Ayano

Sunday, Week 3, Match 2013

Burning Hammer President Tetsuzan Kaneko made a surprise announcement, introducing to the world the inaugural Battle of the Rising Hammer Tournament. As he explained it during the intermission of Fire Dream of the Immortals, the aim for this particular tournament is for the young, hungry competitors Puroresu has to offer. This tournament is designed to give these prospects a platform to stand out and begin to make some headway up the ladder. The biggest surprise, however, was the reveal that this tournament wasn't just reserved for Burning Hammer competitors as promotions Black Grappling Canvas and EXODUS 2010 will be represented. President Kaneko stated Saturday morning after the standard post PPV conference shed more light on the tournament itself. First, he made it clear that unlike the Best of the Super Juniors, this would be a single round elimination tournament. He once again reminded everyone that this was also an openweight tournament as well. Then, he opened up about how the tournament came about. He claimed that BHOTWG management came up with the idea around mid summer and while they wished to get more companies involved, they were happy with the end result. He also stated that he would love for this tournament to become an annual event but that all depends on the success of the first. Speaking of which, the official bracket for the Battle of the Rising Hammer was revealed.

12856

Kaneko stated that the winner of this tournament would receive a grand prize. The grand prize was the opportunity to challenge for any Burning Hammer championship, which was good til the end of the POWER Tour in June. The tournament will begin on the very next show and run through the next upcoming shows. The finals will take place a month from now at the next PPV Test of Prophecies. Kaneko wished all the competitors good luck and hoped for an exciting tournament.

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e148/razorsedge69907/BHOTWG/BHOTWG.jpg</span><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF8C00;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">The POWER Tour Rolls into Kumamoto!</span></strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> Fire Dream of the Immortals has come to pass and the Burning Hammer will resume the POWER tour with it's first stop in Kumamoto. 5,000 Burning Hammer fans will fill up he Kumamoto Sports Field and be treated to a night of exciting, Puroresu action that only Burning Hammer can deliver. Nothing highlights this as well as the main event, which itself will be a special occasion. Kinnojo Horri, fresh off his failed challenge of Tadiyuki Kikkawa's Burning World Championship reign will square off in a special openweight match with Sensational Dragon; who also failed in his Junior title match against Horri's Sekigun teammate Elemental III. These two, regardless of weight class, are considered two of the finest competitors in Burning Hammer and this will be the first time these two have ever faced off in singles competition. Despite the difference in weight class, we're certain Sensational Dragon is confident in his abilities to trade blow for blow with the "Emperor of Fire". With that said, both Horri and Dragon will be three days removed from suffering tough championship losses. Who will be able to bounce back when these two collide?</p><p> </p><p> Speaking of Dragon, Elemental III managed to defeat the Sensational Dragon at Fire Dream of the Immortals. During his time with the press backstage, the "Third Junior Wonder" was interrupted by a familiar foe; The Awesome Kiyaru. Kiyaru's made his sights clear. He wants the next shot for the Junior Championship. While nothing was confirmed on that night, in the semi main event, Kiyaru will team up with his long time partner Golden Scorpion to take on Elemental III and Marihito Masuko. It shall be interesting to see if anything develops from this encounter.</p><p> </p><p> Natsu Miyamae made a huge statement at Fire Dream of the Immortals in more ways than one. First, he was able to withstand the physical and mental onslaught of Masaaki Okazaki and then after the conclusion of the main event, he challenged King of Fighters Champion Tasuku Iesada for his title at Test of Prophecies. Iesada accepted and we can confirm that Iesada Vs Miyamae will take place on that show. However, that's a month ahead. Monday night, Miyamae will have to deal with one half of the Burning Hammer Tag Team Champion in "Baby Elephant" Nissho Yuusa. Yuusa was the one that scored the pinfall for his Team REVIVAL team against KawaRaishi, but as a singles wrestler, this will be another chance for him to establish himself a a threat. A win over the #1 contender for the King of Fighters championship will put Yuusa in a very good position down the road potentially. Can Yuusa continue his resurgence with a huge upset over one of the fastest rising competitors in Burning Hammer?</p><p> </p><p> Moving along with the card; there will be an Eight Man Tag Team match. The veteran quartet of Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda, Super Joshuya and Bariei Yasujiro will take on Silver Fleet Rising members Heihachiro Sakai, Mitisunari Fugunaga, Red Panther and American Optimus. The newly formed High Tension team of Sakai and Fugunaga seem destined for a future encounter with tag team pillars Bulls of Fury, especially given their encounter at Fire Dream. We except the same fiery competition that was seen at Fire Dream here. </p><p> </p><p> The newest member of INSPIRE Hirokumi Saito will have his first singles match against one of the newest signings of Burning Hammer, veteran Roku Sotomura. These two are no strangers to each other as both are INSPIRE proper alums. Saito is known for his brutal, unrelenting strikes, particular his knee strikes while Sotomura has made a reputation for himself for being a fine technician. This has all the makings of a physical, gritty battle.</p><p> </p><p> "The Louisiana Wonderkid" KC Glenn finds himself once again in singles competition against the "Electric Live Wire" Hyosuke Kokan. And finally, the Battle of the Rising Hammer Tournament begins with two heated matches. Ryushi Sato and Tatsuya Toshitala have had bad blood ever since Toshitala was unwilling to help out Sato when they were n Six Man Tag. Since then, Sato has had it out for Toshitala. Toshitala has warned his fellow young lions that he will trap every one of them with his Toshitala Triangle. So far, he's succeeded in becoming public enemy #1 among his peers with Sato perhaps leading that charge. The winner of this match will face the winner of "Hokkaido's Finest" Ieyoshi Shimakage and "Rocksteady" Murai Enomoto. Shimakage has constantly antagonized his fellow Hokkadio native, even going so for as calling him "Jimi Enomoto." This hasn't stopped despite Enomoto pinning the mouthy Shimakage. The stoic and soft spoken Enomoto will surely want to knock his new rival down a peg and advance to the next round.</p><p> </p><p> The two dark matches will feature a Six Man Tag as Yoshi Shiomi and VENOM join forces with young lion Fujio Narahashi to take on gaijin Brand Smith, newcomer Toju Munakata and the Incredible Koyama. And finally, the increasing brewing rivalry between newcomers Razan Okamoto and Reijiro Hiraki continues as both will be on the opposite sides of the ring in a tag team setting. Okamoto will team with Hidekazu while Hiraki wil team with one half of the Junior Tag Team Champions Haru Kurofuji. All this and more this Monday night in Kyushu!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="40085" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Burning Hammer</strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#FF8C00;">POWER</span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Tour #7 in the Kumamoto Sports Field in Kyushu on Monday, Week 4, 2013</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dark Match</strong>: Fujio Narahashi, Yoshi Shiomi, VENOM Vs Brandon Smith, The Incredible Koyama and Toju Munakata</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dark Match</strong>: Razan Okamoto & Hidekazu Vs Rejiro Hiraki & Haru Kurofuji</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match 1 ~Battle of the Rising Hammer Round 1</strong>: Ryushi Sato Vs Tatsuya Toshitala</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match 2 ~Battle of the Rising Hammer Round 1</strong>: Murai Enomoto Vs Ieyoshi Shimakage</p><p> </p><p> Match 3: KC Glenn Vs Hyosuke Kokan</p><p> </p><p> Match 4: Hirokumi Saito Vs Roku Sotomura</p><p> </p><p> Match 5: Bulls of Fury(Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda), Bariei Yasujiro & Super Joshuya Vs High Tension(Heihachiro Sakai, Mitisunari Fugunaga), American Optimus & Red Panther</p><p> </p><p> Match 6: Natsu Miyamae Vs Nissho Yuusa</p><p> </p><p> Semi Main: Elemental III & Marihito Mausko Vs Dark Plague(Golden Scoprion & The Awesome Kiyaru)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Main Event ~Special Singles Match</strong>: Sensational Dragon vs Kinnojo Horri</p></div></blockquote>

5. Bulls of Fury(Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda), Bariei Yasujiro & Super Joshuya defeated High Tension(Heihachiro Sakai, Mitisunari Fugunaga), American Optimus & Red Panther (14:08) when Hamacho pinned Red Panther with the Furious Lariat. (Grade:C)

8. Special Singles Match: Kinnojo Horri defeated Sensational Dragon (22:12) when Horri pinned Dragon with the Destiny Bomb. *Grade:B)

OVERALL GRADE: B

Toshitala, per usual, refused to relinquish the Toshitala Triangle after the match until he was pulled off. Toshitala scolded Sato backstage afterwards. Sato thought he was a man. He put on a tough guy act to Toshitala for a few weeks ago. The tough guy act that Sato had been putting up was fake. Sato was a fraud. He ended up like everyone else; with a broken arm. He promised many more on his way to winning the Battle of the Rising Hammer.

Shimakage once again came down to the ring with his "Jimi Enomoto" sign. When he lost, he accused Enomoto of cheating. There's no way he could beat someone as great as himself without using some cheating method. There was no way someone as boring and plain as Enomoto could beat him. He then pointed the finger and referee Shionzaki. He had to be in on it. The press, however, wasn't convinced.....

Enomoto fumbled over his words but he got his message across. Speaking wasn't what he was known for and he was aware that he may be plain but that didn't mean that he wasn't better than an annoying asshole like Shimakage. Regardless of what excuses he could make, he was beat by the better man tonight. Next was Toshitala. Last time they faced ended in a draw. This time, he would make sure there was a winner; him. He might look ordinary, but Enomoto wanted to prove in this tournament that he was far from it.

Masuko was quick to grab the mic after the match. He heard Kiyaru made his intentions for wanting to take the Junior Championship in the darkness once again. But everything in the darkness will eventually come to the light. Masuko and EIII were warriors of righteousness and in the end, that would always prevail over the wicked ways of the morally dead. Kiyaru didn't know what the hell Masuko was rambling about. While he and Scorpion didn't win, that didn't mean that Kiyaru wouldn't take the Junior title from EIII. Kasou-Gun had already proven they were superior to the Sekigun after all. Masuko pointed out that he pinned Kiyaru at the PPV to which Kiyaru countered by mentioning that he too had pinned Masuko a week prior. Masuko wasn't surprised that Kiyaru would take pride in taking a pinfall due to interference. Still, he was right. Kiyaru's underhanded tactics or not, Kiyaru bested him on that day. However, Masuko longed to reach the summit again one day. The summit being at the top of the Junior division as its champion. He respected EIII and considered him to be a fellow brother of virtue, but he had something he wanted. Since he wanted a title shot and Kiyaru wanted a title shot, the only natural thing to do was fight for the right to challenge EIII. Kiyaru didn't waste any time to accept. The match was set for something next week. Kiyaru noted that seeing his former peers Optimus and EII at Fire Dream of the Immortals lit a fire under him because he was the last of their generation still around. Sensation Dragon, Masuko and Elemental III were considered the "next generation" huh? Kiyaru promised to show everyone why even this "generation" wouldn't outlast the Black Plague just like Optimus and EII couldn't. Starting with Masuko and finishing with EIII.

The POWER Tour Comes to Takamatsu!

Tuesday, Week 4, March 2013

As the first month of Burning Hammer comes to a close, the fine folks of Takamatsu will be treated to a night of non stop action. The POWER Tour continues to pick up steam and the main event is a reflection of how intense the atmosphere currently is in Burning Hammer. The King of Fighters Champion Tasuku Iesada will find himself in a Special Threat Threat match with the man he defended his KOF title against at Fire Dream of the Immortals Tadakuni Toshusai and the man he will make his next defense at Test of Prophecies against Silver Fleet Rising leader Natsu Miyamae. Three of the top heavyweights in Burning Hammer all have something to prove going into this match. Iesada would certainly love to continue his dominance and by extension INSPIRE's reign over Burning Hammer while Toshusai could immediately bounce back from his lost at Fire Dream with a huge win. And finally, this will be another test for the emerging Miyamae as he climbs higher and higher up the ladder here in Burning Hammer. A win in a match of this magnitude would further solidify his place among the top heavyweights in Burning Hammer. Something will have to give in this high stakes battle.

The semi main event is an Eight Man Tag as both sets of Tag Champions, the Burning World Tag Team Champions Team REVIVAL and the Burning Junior Tag Team Champions Maverick X, take on the "A-Team" of Kasou-Gun; Yasuhiko Taira, Yasanobu Masuno, The Awesome Kiyaru and Golden Scorpion. It was en eventful night for the Taira-Masuno "Black Magic" duo at Fire Dream as the anchored their Kasou Gun teammates in victory over Sekigun in All Out War. Now with both men having guaranteed title shots at the King of Fighters and Burning World Championships respectively, they will look to keep the momentum going. Meanwhile, it was confirmed that on the next show, The Awesome Kiyaru will do battle with Marihito Mausko and the winner will face Elemental III for the Junior Championship at Test of Prophecies. With that said, Team REVIVAL has proven themselves to be a strong team and so as Maverick X and so it will be an interesting match to see who prevails.

Going down the card, the newly formed MYSTIC Force team, consisting of MYSTIC Dragon and Shimezdu, will face another steep challenge as they are set to face former Junior Tag Team Champions Static PUNCH. The team of Hyosuke Kokan and Kansuke Konda have been a staple in the junior division for years and some would say they are the best tag team. Both teams are certainly aiming to get in position to one day Maverick X for the Junior Tag Team Championship and this match will go a long way to seeing where these two teams stack up. KC Glenn is once again in singles competiton against another Sekigun junior in Marihito Mausko. As noted above, Mausko has a #1 contendership match with The Awesome Kiyaru on the next show in Kanagawa Sports Field and so he would like to keep his skills sharp against a young but very talented Glenn.

A rivalry of sorts has emerged between young junior Razan Okamoto and Reijiro Hiraki. Once again tonight they'll be on opposite sides as the young and brash Okamoto teams with Bulls of Fury while Hiraki will be on the side of KawaRaishi in what should be an interesting Six Man Tag. Finally, The Battle of the Rising Hammer moves with two more matches. The first being an openweight contest featuring White Samurai and BGC's Noritishi Miura. While on paper, Samurai gives up a lot of size and height, Miura isn't primarily a singles wrestler. Samurai has racked up a few wins lately and perhaps is floating under the radar coming into this tournament. He'll have a tough task though against a young up and comer like Miura. It's a clash of styles and we'll see who has the best out of the two. The second BOTRH match will be youngster Fujio Narahashi Vs Silver Fleet Rising member Heihachiro Sakai. This has all the making to be a technically sounded, physical encounter between two men who are know for delivering both to their matches. The winner of Samurai/Miura and Sakai/Narahashi will face each other in the second round.

For this show, instead of two dark matches, the Takamatsu fans will see three. The first being American Panther taking on Toju Munakata and Hidekazu. The second being Atsumori Takamura and Murai Enomoto, who are effectively calling themselves BURNING Youth whenever they team, against Ryushi Sato and veteran Roku Sotomura. Finally, the Feline Phenom Silver Tiger teams with the troublemaker and fellow Kasou-Gun teammate Ieyoshi Shimakage to take one The Incredible Koyama and Brandon Smith.

Team INSPIRE cleared out the ring immediately after the first match. Kikkawa remarked that this was their ring. Besides, a super junior like Samurai had no place in their Burning Hammer. He turned to the crowd. They should be honored that such omnipotence such as himself and the rest of Team INSPIRE graced their presence. Kikkawa talked briefly about the main event. Iesada would show why he was truly the King of Fighters. Miyamae? He was mortal? Toshusai? They already proved anyone from the Sekigun was beneath them. INSPIRE sat on the throne while the Sekigun and the 4th Generation in general, were nothing more than their footstools. This brought out Black Magic. Masuno taunted Kikkawa by mentioning that he had beaten him twice before. He must have forgot because he's getting up their in age. Taira commented that perhaps Kikkawa and the rest of these so called "gods" must have been hit in the head too many times and were suffering from memory loss. They couldn't brag about beating the Sekigun losers because they, along with Kasou-Gun, beat them all at Fire Dream. They walked out of All Out War the victors. Kikkawa found it laughable that Black Magic would boast about a victory when Sekigun wasn't at full strength. Didn't matter, Masuno said. They were superior. Just like they were to Team UN-INSPIRE.

This brought out the Sekigun. Nakasawa and Horri didn't waste any time. They were tired of Team INSPIRE and Kasou-Gun thinking they could run Burning Hammer any way they wanted. Sekigun didn't back down and given the last few weeks, they wanted to fight. Horri took it a step further. He and Nakasawa were the top two in the 4th Generation. They wouldn't wait for a chance to counter attack. They noticed Kikkawa and Okazaki were not wrestling tonight. Neither were he or Nakasawa. Horri challenged them to a match. If they really think the two of them were beneath their feet, prove it! Okazaki quickly accepted. Nothing made him more happy than crushing the Sekigun's bones. After somehow losing to that ****er Miyamae, he was in the mood for hearing the sweet sound of Horri and Nakasawa going unconscious. Kikkawa noted that challenging them while angry was a big mistake. A mistake they'll find out in the main event. Nakasawa said the only mistake that was being made was INSPIRE and Kasou-Gun believing that Sekigun can be pushed around. Horri commented that one way or another, they would kick his and Okazaki's ass and shut their mouths shut.

Okamoto and Hiraki got into it a little post match. Backstage, Okamoto shrugged off Hiraki. They were both in the Battle of the Rising Hammer Tournament. Okamoto was sure he would win his match. Tobei Sugimura was tough but he wouldn't have anything that could trouble him. He told Hiraki to win his so in the second round, he could wipe the floor with him and prove why he was the Future.

Backstage, Hamacho wondered if and Sanda overdid it with the Stampede on Kawate. Sanda joked and said he knew damn well that he and Shirashi could get run over by a truck and they would still be standing. They both shared a laugh. They would leave two spots open for both he and Shiraishi for later tonight when they're drinking sake. Before that, Bulls of Fury had a message for Team REVIVAL. They were coming to take their titles back. Their friends made have failed to beat them at Fire Dream, but the Bulls promised to bring the titles back home when they got the chance.

MYSTIC Dragon and Shimedzu celebrated to the press backstage. They racked up another win against a former Junior Tag Team Championship team. Shimedzu felt that put them right in front for a Junior Tag Team title shot. Dragon agreed. While these battles were tough, he and Shimedzu were two people that had dealt with being battered and bruised before. Nothing would stop them from reaching the top of the Junior Tag Team summit. This was there way of challenging Maverick X for the titles.

Maeda once again tried numerous times to hit the Beat Blocker and failed every time. A chair shot by Shimakage as Maeda was running the ropes led to the finish. Proud of his victory, Scorpion told reporters that he felt this victory over one half of the Junior Tag team champs warranted him a Junior Tag title match. When reporters mentioned that his regular partner Kiyaru was busy fighting for the Junior title, Scorpion grew annoyed. As if he didn't know that. He was referring to Silver Tiger. Tiger was the main champion back in his home fed. That also gave credence to his case for the Junior Tag titles. Together, he and Silver Tiger would take the titles from the old Kurofuji and the otaku geek Maeda.

Kurofuji, meanwhile, once again was hard on Maeda. His reliance on the Beta Blocker was hurting them. People have caught on to the technique. Maeda understood but said the Beta Blocker was his "super ultra technique." Yeah, well his "ultra" move was being countered. He needed to learn new moves. Maeda noted that while he had the Z Buster, that was only good for young lions. Kurofuji then told him to learn better moves. MYSTIC Force was gunning for them. Apparently, now was Scorpion and Silver Tiger. If he didn't do something, they would lose their titles sooner than later.

Miyamae kept Iesada at bay long enough to finish off Toshusai. After another big victory, Miyamae commented to the press that while he was pleased with the win, he wasn't satisfied. Silver Fleet Rising was on the attack. Sakai was making waves in the BOTRH tourney. MYSTIC Force was making a name for themselves. He was doing the same. Iesda only got a taste of what's to come.

Horri and Nakasawa wrestled angry and made uncharacteristic mistakes. The biggest being Horri wildly missing a Burning Lariat and Kikkawa in return dropping him with a Kikkawa Lariat. Instead of pinning him, Kikkawa shown his vicious side and rained down elbow strike after elbow strike after elbow strike until referee Shionzaki had no choice but to stop the match. Immediately, Hirokuni Saito ran into the ring and attacked Nakasawa with a Standing Knee Strike! Enomoto and Takemura tried to help but were quickly dispatched. The crowd boo loudly. Saito grabbed the mic for the first time since arriving in Burning Hammer. This guy he just knocked out. This guy. He's the Ace? He heard so much about this so called "ace."Where he was sitting, he was more like 2 of Spades. He thought he was a real fighter but he knows nothing about it. He was soft. Saito would gladly teach him the difference between what is reality and what is fake. Kikkawa stated that this was reality. The 4th Generation were weak in comparison to him. He was almighty. Nakasawa was a false idol. Horri was forever second best. All of his words suggesting the contrary meant nothing. Compared to himself, Horri was worthless. Jut like Toshusai. A comedy act. Black Magic would learn their place too. He continued but Elemental III ran down to the ring and caught Kikkawa with a Missile Dropkick!

EIII grabbed a mic while Static PUNCH also ran down to check on the fallen Sekigun. He couldn't stand backstage and watch INSPIRE destroy everything the Sekigun tried to preserve. Kikkawa was in fact a legendary competitor, but he wasn't immortal. Instead of representing the best principles of Burning Hammer, he chose to use his status for the opposite. He was prideful, greedy, arrogant. All traits that stood against what Burning Hammer stood for. That didn't sit right with him. Kikkawa angrily responded. The Elementals and the Optimus' and just about every junior were all circus acts. Someone of his kind interrupting him was dishonorable. If he was truly about honor, he would understand the world order. Heavyweights were above Juniors. End of discussion. They were too small to compete with the real fighters. He told Elemental III to know his place. EIII didn't waver. This wasn't the first time Kikkawa disrespected junior wrestling. A few weeks ago, he told Konda a super junior had no place in Burning Hammer. Tonight, he told the same to Samurai. As the Junior Champion, he felt the need to stand up not just for himself, but for junior wrestling as a whole. The monthly show at the Tokyo Civil Stadium was a week away. Kikkawa's Burning World crown meant he was the best. Well, Elemental currently held the Junior crown. The Junior title meant that he was the best and if Kikkawa believes juniors are inferior, he would have no problem accepting his challenge. Kikkawa initially brushed off Elemental but upon second thought, he agreed. He would entertain this challenge from a clear, weaker opponent. He can be the King in a division of the genetically weak. Only ONE person was fit to wear the crown. He, along with INSPIRE, were unbeatable. And for a junior, his chances of winning were less than zero. EIII would be crushed like his comrades tonight. Team INSPIRE left.

EIII was left to close the show. He apologized on behalf of his friends for the sour ending. While he was the Junior Champion, the past few weeks for his fellow teammates have been a nightmare. Tonight was perhaps the peak of it. Still, they were he ones that were going to protect the principles this company were built on. No matter how big or strong they were, the Sekigun would be there to fight them until they were no more. He finished on this note as the rest of Sekigun carried both Horri and Nakasawa to the back.

Post Show Notes:

Wow, this write up was pretty long. But this was a big show that I had been planning for a bit. My goal for the first month was to establish both INSPIRE and Kasou Gun as threats for the Sekigun, though in different ways. INSPIRE rely on brutality and have this mentality that they're the kings of Burning Hammer while Kasou-Gun tries to take every shortcut possible. In general, one goal I'm striving for is to make every unit unique. As a Dragon Gate fan, that's one of the best aspects about the promotion and I want to do the same with this. it'll take time but for now, I think INSPIRE and Kasou-Gun have been presented the way I envisioned.

Another early goal I wanted is to boost the Big Five's pop a bit. It's seemed to work so far. Masuno has bumped up from B- to roughly B across the board except in two areas; where one he's still at B- and the other is at B+. Taira also got the bump from B- to B with some B+'s on the board.

Miyamae's pop is the biggest to jump. He's gone from a C to a solid B with some B+'s there. Didn't expect the rise to be that quick but that's cool.

I was initially worried how much the Big 3 of Sekigun's popularity would dip when I decided to go down this path with them but it's actually gone well. Though Horri dropped from B+ to B but that can easily be regained. Nakasawa is still at an A pop and B+ momentum. Toshusai's around the B-/B range, which in some areas is an improvement. Anyways this show kinda kickstarts a lot of things for the Sekigun, both as a unit and individually.

I've also been trying to give the younger wrestlers on the roster something to do. I.E. Toshitala's war against his fellow young lions, Hiraki vs Okamoto, Shimakage being a jerk to Enomoto. That even goes with the guys on tour, who I'm planning to use all three in some capacity.

I forgot to mention this because I feel like it's important. For dark matches, the Time Limit for single matches are 5 minutes. For Tag matches, it's 10. For Six man, Eight Man or Ten man Tags, there is no Time Limit. Hopefully this prevents any confusion on that part.

The POWER Tour Rages on in Kanto!

Friday, Week 4, March 2013

The POWER Tour reaches it's final event of the month of March with a huge event tomorrow night. After the shocking events of the last show, the intense atmosphere will be carried over with two big matches. In the main event, the King of Fighters Champion Tasuku Iesada teams up with Masaaki Okazaki to take on the man that defeated Okazaki at Fire Dream of the Immortals and will challenge Iesada for his championship at test of Prophecies Natsu Miyamae and his partner....Shimedzu! For one night, the famed Rebellion tag team will reunite to do battle with the #2 and #3 respectively of Team INSPIRE. Miyamae made a statement on the last show, defeating both Iesada and Tadakuni Toshusai in a special Triple Threat, continuing to build upon his meteoric rise. As Test of Prophecies draws closer, he will look to maintain momentum and with his former long time partner on his side, this will make for an exciting encounter. You would imagine the always volatile Okazaki wasn't forgotten the lost he took from Miyamae and he would love to dish out some payback not just on behalf of himself but for his teammate Iesada. Speaking of Iesada, a lover of destiny, believes there's nothing Miyamae can do that will change his fate. Either way, this makes for a hell of a contest.

In the semi main event, the next contender for Elemental III's Junior Championship will be determined. The Awesome Kiyaru put Elemental III on notice after his title defense against Sensational Dragon at Fire Dream of the Immortals but it was Elemental III's own unitmate Marihito Masuko that rebuked his challenge. Kiyaru has been a persistent thorn in the side of every junior for nearly two decades and Masuko stated that he wanted to prevent him from plunging the Junior title into darkness. At the same time, he also expressed a desire to challenge for the Junior title once again. Therefore, a match was made. These two former Junior champions will face each other with the winner having the right to challenge Elemental III at Test of Prophecies. Both have scored pinfalls over the other in a few matches this month, but clearly the stakes in this match will be much higher. Who will walk out out of the night as the next contender for the Junior Championship?

Recently, Heihachiro Sakai and Mitisunari Fugunaga have formed a tag team. Calling themselves High Tension, the Silver Fleet Rising affiliated duo have designs to make an impact in the tag team division. Tomorrow they face an interesting challenge; Hyosuke Kokan and Kansuke Konda of Static PUNCH. Despite being a junior tag team, Static PUNCH is no stranger to facing heavyweight teams, having faced the likes of Black Magic and KawaRaishi in the past. While High Tension will have the height and weight advantage, Static PUNCH have teamed together for years and they have the experience on their side. Will that edge lead Static PUNCH to defeat the newly minted team of Sakai and Fugunaga?

Moving own the card, Sensational Dragon looks to snap out of his mini rut against the veteran Hidekazu. Hidekazu has been settling into Burning Hammer since arriving earlier this month and a win here would be huge for the man known as "Second Wind." Elemental III had a very noteworthy night at the last show, standing up in the face of the Burning World Champion Tadiyuki Kikkawa as he and the rest of Team INSPIRE unit were brutalizing assaulting the Sekigun. He took it a step forward and challenged Kikkawa to a match, which will take place on Tuesday in the Tokyo Civil Stadium. Tomorrow, he faces off against the very promising gaijin "The Louisiana Wonderkid" KC Glenn. The Junior Tag Team Champions Maverick X square off against Yoshii Shiomi and VENOM. It'll be interesting to see how Hachigoro Maeda fairs as he's struggled to adjust to his opponents taking away his biggest move of his arsenal, the Beta Blocker.

And finally, the Battle of the Rising Hammer Tournament continues. The confident or cocky(depending on who you ask) Razaon Okamoto will take on EXODUS2010 wrestler Tobei Sugimura. Sugimura is an eight year veteran would earlier in his career, sported green hair and was looked upon as a comedy wrestler. Since joining the EXODUS2010 organization, he's adapted a serious, all business mentality and has resulted in him becoming a hot prospect. A good showing in this tournament would only grow his reputation. and that could start against "The Future" Razan Okamoto. For the other tournament match, Okamoto's rival Reijiro Hiraki takes on Sekigun member "SUPERNOVA" Atsumori Takemura. If both Hiraki and Okamoto win, they will face each other in the second round. Okamoto told Hiraki to win his match, already determining that he will get past Sugimura. Who will join Tatsuya Toshitala, Murai Enomoto, White Samurai and Heihachiro Sakai in the second round?

The dark matches for the show feature; the veteran trio of Sessue Kawate, Sanetomor Shiraishi and Roku Sotomura go against the young lion/gaijin trio of Fuji Narahashi, Ryushi Sato and Brandon Smith. The second and final dark match is Golden Scoprion and Silver Tiger, who are officially calling themselves Dia de los Muertos(which translates to Day of the Dead) take on Toju Munkata and Bariei Yasjuiro. After scoring a pinfall over one half of the Junior Tag Team Champions Hachigoro Maeda, Scorpion claimed that he deserved a shot at the Junior Tag titles. With his normal tag partner The Awesome Kiyaru occupied, he's chosen to pursue the belts with newcomer Silver Tiger. The fans in Kanto will get to witness all the action tomorrow night!
