Small Questions Thread & "Living FAQ"

Recommended Posts

As long as your shows (even with penalties) are getting higher ratings than your popularity, and your popularity is going up, the final rating doesn't matter. You can continue to grow and save money until you need to increase your production values to keep growing.

EDIT: Actually, I know Adam recently patched that "much better" shows from Small to Regional get a bigger boost in popularity, so it may actually be better to make sure your shows are getting the highest rating possible to grow. I would check how much upping your production will cost you and if it's affordable then make at least some small changes to it.

Cool, I'll increase one or two of them just to keep competing with the other companies and see where it takes me.

Thanks

Is there a way to see everyone that was involved in a battle royal? I booked the Royal Rumble a few months ago and, while I remember most of the details, I'd like a list of everyone that was involved.

Go to the news section, filter for your company and results story type, select the show and you can click through the matches and see who was involved.

<p>This is the biggest con for me when playing with no face/heel divide: </p><p> </p><p>

In this game with divide off, face and heels just simply don't exist. Which, for literally every wrestling promotion in history is just not true. New Japan has faces and heels. ROH in its prime had faces and heels. They were just a little bit more fluid in their booking approach to give the feeling that it was a real sport. </p><p> </p><p>

This is something that I think should be retooled in the next version (or ideally THIS VERSION) of the game. When booking matches, you just have a gigantic list of people. With the divide on, it's a lot more organized.</p>

Mainly because the way fans react now a days I don't think fits in with how the WWE is now a days. Guys will quite often flip flop between the two in certain situations. So it's hard to replicate that in tew as you can't switch people that often. Look at cena v miz at mania. From a tew point of view cena was the face and miz the heel. But that certainly wasn't how the reaction was. Personally I have the divide off but in my mind keep I soft split. I couldn't have someone fight someone one week and be their tag partner the next.</p>

<p>Is there any way to end a working agreement if your owner blocks you?</p><p> </p><p>

Why do I all of a sudden get the 'too many competitors' penalty in battle royals and trios matches? Kinda makes the addition of extra trios options moot and it kills my Royal Rumble ratings.</p>

With a company on a touring schedule, will storylines lose heat during "off months"? Im wondering if I should end all storylines before starting off months and re-start them when touring begins again or if I can leave the ones I want to carry them over to the next touring section.

Do size increase requests work the same way every time for every worker? I did a test just to see what categories were affected, and two of the four workers ended up flabby or obese (it worked as intended for the other two). Will this happen each time with these workers or is it random how it ends up?

It's one of the most open notes as it's meant to be about some particular aspect of the match (the story being told) rather than the action in particular. For young workers (those who haven't reached their Maturity age yet) this will grow slowly until that point, which is handy. Workers who go to film movies or pose in magazines can gain star quality too. Otherwise steroid use (which a Dirty Doctor can promote if you use one) and changing size or body type are the only ways for this to change that you can affect.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="gord" data-cite="gord" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Do size increase requests work the same way every time for every worker? A worker on steroids is also more likely to put on muscle while workers who smoke/drink/do drugs etc are more likely to end up out of shape too. Puroresu fans think nothing of seeing two faces/heels in a match. Or even tag team partners facing each other one week and teaming up again to defend their titles the next with absolutely no animosity (Mayu Iwatame and Io Shirai who even promo'd the match they were having against each other together as a team and talked about their upcoming title defense as a tag team in the same promo). It's just not a big deal.</p><p> And even with that turned off, your workers can still portray gimmicks. Heck they can portray gimmicks when they have no effect due to company product. Which is kind of how I see NJPW/AJPW working. They portray their character and the audience just roots for who they feel like regardless.</p><p> </p><p> P.S. Especially when AJPW had the Heavenly Road arc going. Misawa Mitsuharu, Kawada Toshiaki, Taue Akira and Kobashi Kenta all teamed up, fought each other, and turned face/heel (in the sense we refer to it) on a weekly basis it seemed like as all four were out to clain the title in a epic four way story line.</p><p> P.P.S. Found a really cool article on King's Road if you want to read about it:</p><p> <a href="https://puroresuspirit.wordpress.com/2011/01/11/wrestling-heavenly-road-1990s-ajpw/" rel="external nofollow">https://puroresuspirit.wordpress.com/2011/01/11/wrestling-heavenly-road-1990s-ajpw/</a></p>

That's good info to know, but I guess the crux of my question is, if I were to do the size increase again *within the same game*, will I get the same results? I made a copy of my save and tried the size increase thing just to see what would happen. If I took that same save and did those four workers again, would the same two fail and succeed or is it completely random each time?

PS - All four workers were relatively young. The two it worked on were 32 and 30, and the ones it didn't were 27 and 25.

If you were to go back and try again your results could be different, for better or worse. :)

Can a wrestler retire before they hit "Time Decline"?

They can. Using the pre-game editor you can see the possible ranges for both Time Decline (up to 55) and Retirement (begins at 25) so it's possible to hit retirement age before decline. That said, the mean value for decline is around 40 and the mean value for retirement is around 43, so in most cases you won't see that happen and for prominent workers who are still employed they will put off their retirement for several years. The retirement age itself is only the age at which they begin to consider retirement, so as long as they are making money and are capable of working they tend to keep wrestling far beyond that. :)

Anyone on either of those?

Also, do AI companies have locker room morale?

Like, would my child company suffer from a negative influence on their roster?
