How is it determined how a gimmick will be received? I have a worker who keeps debuting with a Below Average reception even though it's his default gimmick. He has the performance skills and everything needed for it anyway, but he keeps coming up Below Average. Is there any way to fix generally how well it debuts?

I recommend reading the guide to gimmicks. The starting rating isn't particularly important, it's what they end up with that is by far the more vital piece of information. There's certainly nothing wrong with a Below Average opening rating.

Sucks that wrestlers die in this game. One last question

Time- How does time work in this game?

For example, is it possible to take a low ranking promotion and make it top 5 within a years time?

As my first play playthrough I started at the bottom, and I thought it would be cool to see if I can work my way up to the top. ( This is the ultimate RPG).

How do I put on a quality FACE vs FACE main event?

Trying to make Roman Reigns vs John Cena (Wrestlemania 35) similar to "Rock vs Austin WM X-7" and im trying to get the best possible match rating (preferably 95 and up) but i dont know how steep the penalties are for having a face vs face match

Also,

Does having bad Announcer chemistry and bad announcers/color commentary really kill a match rating?

matches i feel should be in the 90s are now in the 80s and i think its the bad announcing team i have on SmackDown Live

Hey guys so I just hit Regional with my local to global fed in Australia, but the only broadcaster available to me won't negotiate because they don't want any more wrestling programs (the currently broadcast ZEN, DIW, and APW). Am I just out of luck here, or do I have a chance to negotiate when one of the other company's contracts comes up?

If you're doing match that are potentially in the 90s and your announcing team is in the 60s then you will get penalised heavily because you're presenting the match very poorly to the audience.

What is it that causes that effect? Overness or is it something else?

Interviewers aren't really simulated in TEW... if you include them as part of an angle, they are weighted just as much as anyone else. In this case, they are going to generally have far lower popularity than the workers involved, and probably always will as they are far less likely to have things like high star quality to help them gain popularity in the first place. Whlie in the past many companies have had prominent interviewers that would be covered by the Personality role, most of the modern ones are generic people who would be covered by things like miscellaneous expenses or production costs given how irrelevant they are to the product and how insignificant their role is. Not meant to be an insult to them as I have always enjoyed a strong personality on screen, but the on screen interviewer and the ring announcer are roles that aren't really used any more and are covered by expenses in other areas.

How would you guys go about a MITB cash in? Would you use an angle based on Overness with a title change added in?

I'm aware they added a "Late match entry" into the game but it does slightly hurt the rating (which isn't the problem, just sayin) and I'm just wonderin how would you book a post match cash in.

Is that it? Just an angle? Any one have any creative ideas that they've done/do?

Generally an overness angle with the title change, yeah.

What is the difficulty, subtlety and riskiness off the gimmick?

Says so if you click the yellow question mark next to the grades. Difficulty is how hard it'll be for the worker to pull off the gimmick, so easier gimmicks are more likely to get a good rating. Subtlety is how complex the gimmick is. A generic buff big man like Ultimate Warrior would use a simple Power and Paint gimmick. I think a good example of complex/subtle gimmicks would be Raven in ECW or Bray Wyatt in WWE right now. Riskiness is exactly what it says on the tin. Some audiences like or dislike risky gimmicks and certain broadcasters might object to your use of risky gimmicks and/or angles.

Hell to the no. From my little experience, TEW is a slow grind of a game. To give you an example, I started my custom promotion at the lowest level (Local) in 1997. Every show I've put on since has raised my popularity. It took me 2 years to get to Small size (1999), two more to Regional (2001), I managed to build enough popularity by mid 2009 to get a TV deal and I'm now still growing towards Cult size. To get to the top 5 I'd say you gotta be at least National, if not International size.

If I use the Talent Trades and borrow a worker for one appearance, will he stay on my roster until he has made that appearance, or will he go back again after the next show I have, if I don't use him on that show?

When you loan a worker, his loan agreeement has a set number of appearances as well as an expiration date. For one appearance it's two months.

Whichever point comes first is when the worker will leave your promotion.

If a worker didn't have a non-compete clause in their contract, has anyone ever seen a worker hand in their notice for any other reason than being unhappy? For example, will they hand in their notice if they think they have outgrown your company or because they just want to work in a bigger promotion?

I start a game in Mexico (cVerse) and in few years I grow till Cult. What I can't understand is how the marketing cost explode. from $ 5,000 when I was Regional to 175,000 becoming Cult, in just one month. This means that my finance situation is going bad and I can't do anithing: could someone help me?

The jump to Cult is the biggest to make, financially...

There's really nothing you can do. The best thing is to limit your size, while still at Regional, so when you have enough you finally make the jump.

You can try getting better TV and PPV-deals or release some talent.
