Small Questions Thread & "Living FAQ"

Recommended Posts

A relevant question imo. I don't think there's any negatives involved to just broadcast weekly "events". It's one of those ways to "break the game" as you make tons of money with entertainment promotions as the gates are considered to be "PPV" tier. I always use them when I can't get a TV show yet and every time I wonder why I even make the switch.

TV gates are 50%, as I didn't get to the ppv popularity, what is the gate for them?

Any "Event" is treated as larger than TV, regardless of if it is broadcast or not. This is why non televised weekly events draw larger than a televisied show. Having said events televised (either on TV or as a weekly PPV, TNA style) doesn't change the gate since it's all calculated before you decide to put the show on a broadcaster.

For me, it almost feels more like a fix than a hack, because I've never understood why a TV show would draw less fans. if anything, I'd think more fans would go to show that was going to be on TV.

I think only at a certain point this is true in real life. The WWF at its height in 2000 ran some smaller venues, and the Georgia Dome, but mostly it was the same sized arenas for all their Raws and PPVs. But in TEW the separation between 20,000 and 40,000 events isn't too far off.

Besides, the events pay me commercial money as well, though it may not be the same amount. Costs may be lower with the TV show, but the end result is that the events make far more money. In fact, that it's what originally prompted me to ask this question. I'm not seeing the purpose of having the TV show, and it seems like a lot of you agree, though the point about worker popularity changes is worth noting.</p>

You will then get a bonus every time they wrestler one. <p>Ah, I'm playing a RTG game so no dirt sheet...</p><p> </p><p>

I don't think it's a big deal. I've been hitting A-grade main events anyway, but I'd got to my season finale, year-long feud blow-off and just wondered if it'd work.</p><p> </p><p>

Might have done, had I not gone for my longest ever main event. Not quite enough Psychology between the competitors for that, even with both having B's. I tried to bring in Sean McFly as my road agent to see if that would offset their Psychology issues, but he didn't sign until after the show.</p><p> </p><p>

There's always next month, I guess!</p>

<p>I don't bother for my dynasty as I pre-book in the Word document where the whole thing is written out.</p><p> </p><p>

For my non-dynasty games, I use pre-booking for matches I specifically want to have on a future show so I don't forget them, but I book show-to-show in the main - anyone who's not part of an active storyline is mainly thrown together on the day to see what happens.</p>

<p>Sponsor Income Always Falls after first few months</p><p> </p><p>

I'm starting a local company. I noticed during the first 3-6 months sponsorship income is usually around $11,000. Then it seems to always fall to around $6,000. Am I doing something wrong or looking at this wrong? My popularity actually increases.</p>

An Owner Goal question:

"Owner is feeling vindictive; targeted wrestler must not gain any more popularity in America."

With this goal, can the wrestler safely lose and gain back popularity points so long as the grand total stays under the current level? Or will any regain of popularity count as a failed goal?

In other words, if I get this goal for a wrestler with 60 popularity across America, can I take it down to 50 and then back up to 58 without a problem?

Thanks!

Also, other ones I cannot find answers in-game:

If a Brawler's Basic is better rated than their Brawling should I be putting them in regular matches, or brawling ones?

Thank you.

Things to go for in squash matches:

- Dominating wrestler is big in size, good in charisma (maybe power and menace too) and preferably using a Brute-based gimmick

- Squashed wrestler is smaller in size compared to his opponent. A good Selling attribute helps

- Dominating wrestler has a better push than the one getting squashed

- Match goes on for 10-15 minutes top

Not experienced with developmental companies and dojos that much (I play small promotions) so I'll leave that for someone else to answer. Same with Eye Candy matches.

Match types have to do with a worker's top attributes, not their style. Regardless if they're Brawlers, Entertainers or whatever, having a good Brawl attribute will probably give the worker a bonus when booked in a Brawl-based match. As for Basics, it's under Performance, not In-Ring skills. Regular based matches allow you to book workers of different styles (i.e. a brawler vs a technician) because they take into account the best In-Ring attribute of each worker.
