More of an idea/potential thought for a future TEW than anything I'm actively considering doing now, but any feedback would be appreciated:

A luchador dynasty with a twist - Not necessarily based in Mexico, but every single worker has to be given a gimmick name and then masked, hooded or otherwise completely unrecognisable.

I might build the roster out of just unemployed workers, I might steal workers from existing feds, I might just sign workers who're already working elsewhere but give them promotion-specific gimmicks (like the Colony in CHIKARA*, who I believe work unmasked elsewhere). I might do a little of each.

This could be run on any mod in any time period, because the workers would be complete unknowns. The challenge would be to engage people's interest with those completely unknown workers. Ant Man, Panda Mask, Brimstone, the Patriot, Mr America, Vader... It could be anyone under those hoods. I'd never list the roster by push or anything, just by name, maybe even have level popularity for the workers on day one so that who gets over is completely dependent on their performance.

As I say, not something I'm going to start anytime soon... but something in the back of my mind for a potential future project.

* Does MASCARA/MASKARA on its own make sense as a nod to CHIKARA?

I have a new project that I'm interested in. It's a story I've long thought of but never told. I toyed with it at times but often came back to going toward a different project. Now, I feel like I have the true interest to give it the best go possible.

Let's head... to The Coastal Zone.

So happy to see you back E-V. Looking forward to it. Life's kicking my rear too right now -- hope things get better for you.Love to see your take on the Coastal Zone -- lot of potential for them to grow.

It's great to see you coming back, E-V! You know that I'll be front row, center with a box of popcorn and my own fun fan signs.

<p>I couldn't think of a better place to put this (as I don't believe we have a "I've created a logo" forum post. ha); so, I decided to share it here. </p><p> </p><p>

I wanted to create a modern/sleek/almost futuristic look to the CZCW logo. I kept the original blue coloring (albeit darker than the original logo) to connect with the company's past. That said, the font, and the message of "Evolution of Wrestling", signifies a sense of change in the Coastal Zone. </p><p> </p><p>

Finally, I added the lens flare in the background in which to add a little more to the image itself (as, without it, it felt rather flat).</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="m50jtr9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/m50jtr9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">The LEGEND of CZCW</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

It's going to be a bit before everything hits the boards, but I'm making progress!</p>

A little look-in as to the backstory of my upcoming CZCW dynasty!

THEN...

Combat Zone Championship Wrestling unceremoniously opened its doors in August 1990. At the time, it was a small promotion developed by a relative unknown play-by-play wrestling commentator in Cliff Anderson. A scrawny 30-something with a wiry brown mustache, Anderson was seen as a misguided fool; as he was unapologetically banking on a budding wrestling style that many industry experts labeled as simply another “fad.” Even those who did enjoy the fast-paced approach in the ring felt that a product solely-based on such a style would most certainly burn a crowd out; grabbing initial excitement and then crashing as fast as it took to the skies.

While many industry experts and random “dirt sheets” continually predicted the death of CZCW, no such downfall ever came. Instead, Cliff Anderson’s defiant little promotion enjoyed the next 26 years of consistent practice; never insanely profitable but self-sufficient nonetheless.

Despite its longevity, CZCW has never sniffed mainstream success as a wrestling promotion and overarching product. Its fan base is far more underground than anything; a collection of wrestling enthusiasts versus pulling in the coveted “casual wrestling fan.” That said,

with alumni such as Troy Tornado, Sammy Bach, Chance Fortune, Black Eagle, James Prudence, Mikey James, Rocky Golden and Valiant, there’s no doubt that CZCW has truly impacted the American wrestling scene.

NOW...

Toward the end of 2015, an aging Cliff Anderson found himself in a newfound position. Many within the industry, even those within the promotion, felt that his zest for CZCW had waned. His overall interest with the sport was starting to fade and, in turn, the Coastal Zone started to feel rather bland by nature. Some of the company’s most coveted young wrestlers were poached by the “Big Three”, others moved on from the company on their own accord, and this fact left the company at crossroads of sorts.

Many Coastal Zone ICONS stayed; however, their age was starting to become a point of fear for the company’s long-term success. THE question began to arise from, what felt like, every direction possible… “How can CZCW bank on wrestlers pushing into their mid 30’s WHEN their wrestling style is SO demanding?” In this vein, many felt, unless CZCW set out to develop a new crop of talent, that the Coastal Zone would see the same end as Phil Vilbert’s DaVE almost 10 years prior.

The landscape for CZCW started to look rather bleak…

That is until Pee-Wee Germaine stepped in with a mind-blowing offer; making Cliff Anderson a multi-millionaire and giving the former CZCW referee full control of the company he loves dearly.

With one sizable check, Pee-Wee Germaine changed the course of CZCW; placing a sense of hope where it seemed like hope was lost. Now, his deep bank account, in connection with his absolute love for the company, has given the defiant wrestling-promotion-that-could a breath of fresh air.

This is the story of an evolving wrestling promotion; one that is set to FINALLY usher in the EVOLUTION it once claimed it would.

This will be amazing.

I secretly hope you'd write on the Coastal Zone since alliance titles were announced in TEW 16. CZCW is a middle ground. They aren't quite big enough to get coverage, but big enough to draw names. They aren't quite big enough to have a mainstream audience, but big enough to draw a cult following. They have a lot of lore in the C-Verse, and many greats wrote on CZCW, but none really explored them in TEW 2016.

It's like ECW in '96 with Cactus Jack, Mick Foley, Shane Douglas, Rey Mysterio and Brian Pillman -- groundbreaking, innovative, a spark, but it's not gonna last forever. I'm not going to lie, I usually prepare for 1-2 Main Eventers to jump ship when I boot up the game, but usually you'll have plenty left in the tank.

There have been MANY amazing writers/bookers who have taken on CZCW in the past. It's partly one of the reasons why I never really took on the project. It was always a favorite of mine for personal games; however, I felt it was SO beloved by many TEW players that it could be challenging in various ways.</p><p> </p><p> I agree that CZCW, to me, feels a lot like an ECW-like company. They are unique, have their die-hard fans, produce an exciting product, but ultimately the company could die unless it properly prepares itself for the future. In a way, it's at risk (at least in Cornellverse terms) to follow what happened to DaVE (Which is what I eluded to in the preview above) in this manner. </p><p> </p><p> I know I'll lose a few names but that's to be expected. I don't shy away from those challenges. If anything, it creates more fun as we look to "find" who to move toward next.</p>

What if Game of Thrones crossed swords with wrestling??

What if wrestling became truly international with rivalries between nations and continents??

What if the champion held the right to be called a truly global superstar??

These are the questions Rising Sun Broadcasting is asking as they launch their latest project, Warrior’s Road, a new wrestling organization with a unique USP…. World Cup of Wrestling.

8Io4vLD.jpg

Today in the press conference, the head of network, Mr. Kachida announced the project and introduced us to the CEO who will oversee everything.

The CEO is none other than Tiger Singh, the Indian superstar who has made his career here in Japan.

Tiger added that he is very excited to be part of this new project and he believes this is something nobody has ever seen before in wrestling.
