National Wrestling Federation - January 2000

Size - Regional

Cash - $1.2 million

I've booked 190 shows in three years now and this is Arutha Hawke after 145 matches:

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k253/Badcollin/Hawke%20Jan%2000_zps5deqgzj0.png

I am on my way to cult so I have started booking nine shows a month, i'm making just short of $100k every month.

In the last show of the millennium I finally worked out how to book a spectacle:

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k253/Badcollin/Hawke-Angel%2099_zpsqe0fqa7z.png

Here are the top ten matches so far:

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k253/Badcollin/Topten00_zpsqfylf403.png

Time for a roll:

End of Year Rolls:

1997 - 37. “Eeeehhhhhhhhhhh” or “It’s Not Arrogance If You Can Back It Up”

1998 - 49. "Where There’s A Will"

1999 - 24. "Top Rope Hero" You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to Aerial skill

That puts me up to E+, i'm no Sean McFly.

So my question here is what to do after you've completed the challenge. My fed is at Global and my UC has been the champion twice at this level. So now what? I'm thinking about leaving and having my UC start a local fed and then repeating the process with some young protege but that seems like an odd move for a 32 year old who is on top of the world so to speak. I'm out of competition. I have all the big stars. Too many even. This is easily the most successful run at the Road to Glory challenge I've ever had but because of that I'm now unsure of where to go or what to do so early in my career.

Did you complete the RtG challenge by getting an A* match in a national fed? If so please post a picture of the match here (or at least let us know who is was against etc) and i'll add you to the RTG Hall of Immortals.

Has anyone else completed the challenge? So far only Soxfan93 has done as far as I can tell.

Start Date: January 1, 2016.

Wrestler: Taylor Haize

Starting Company: $4 Wrestling

So Here are the stats I entered the game with. Now question, I originally had it at 750 before the game started, but I started the game with stat variance on. That's cool right?

First year done finally made it to a year and were making money first time I've managed it I'm using thundererse and what a journey it's been. My first roll was a mentor and the only person old enough is my owner Cindi Hudson witch is ok with me i dont see me leaving WPL anytime soon.

First year really consisted of The Human Hive leed by my UC Seth Blackwatch, Bobby Lonley and Tommy Misfit fighting it out with The Funky Bunch Leed by Lightning Larry with the Soul Brothers.

Unfortunately the new years going to be a bit of cull although Tommy and Bobby have improved massively there attuide towards me has caused some issues manly Tommy who has a hatred of me hence why we have seen the arrival of Chris King, Joey Sleaze and Mattias Taylor.

The bigist thing to happen for my UC during the year was a botch that has left Larry injured for a year with knee tendonitis although still able to work Larry has been pushed hard he will stay on but has been moved to the announce table (#morepointsonsaftey).

I was going to scale back to one show a month I'm in the tri state I run two shows a month one in N.Y. and one in Philly but the production penalties if I run one will force me back down to local so I will soilder on.

I'd recommend that you put some effort into stamina, basics and psych. THey don't have to be 60+, but if they are too low you'll struggle to get started and your initial worker base tends to be poor so being able to be your own road agent can be a huge help.

The others should be based on what you want to work on, but remember that if you run a show every month, you'll be improving 3-4 points per stat every year at a minimum. You don't have to put any wrestling skills at 75, as they will reach that level naturally after a few years, and likely long before you reach the point where you see age based declines in stats.

That's about all I can suggest. If you look over all the pages you'll see that just about every combination has been tried, and if you can get the promotion to survive 3+ years, you can succeed. Its the first 18 months or so that cause people the most trouble as a 0/0/0/1000 company can struggle to survive.

A new company in Aussie land rose up and looks like they might be going into debt soon, so it is alright.

Tom Bombadil

ThunderLance Wrestling

End of 2018 (Year 3)

ThunderLance Wrestling has been able to come together nicely. They are making little headway in popularity, and are set to lose some top talent in the next week, (most notably, star Logan Wolfsbaine) but have been profitable and slowly developing new talent. Outlaw Wes Revell, Austin Smooth, and a few others were hired towards the end of the year, to fill out the roster. Cobra has emerged from the undercard to show a wealth of potential, and Ava Anderson will be allowed to leave soon after contributing nothing major except attitude for years.

My character had a fairly good year. I was able to maneuver myself into the top face position by turning Wolfsbaine, which is a level of cunning I don't usually employ. Consequently, I have finally won my world title, and am doing decently well. My stats aren't quite where I'd like them to be, but they are still climbing, and I have become quite capable in Performance and Entertainment. Much like last year, I am losing my best wrestler, so now I have a large role in carrying the company. I am starting to toy with the idea of jumping ship to another fed, but only applied once and was denied. I am not sure how much farther I can take this fed!

-Improve my In Ring. My Technical is starting to taper off a bit, but I saw respectable gains in the other In Ring stats. I'm still not a good wrestler, but I'm a decent one!

-Give myself a title run, and have it go well. I'm not as good as Teddy Powell, but I pulled the trigger on myself in September and have yet to ruin the show.

-Put on a C- match myself. Put on two!

Goals for next year:

-Install myself as Figurehead

-Improve Physical

-Eliminate Production penalties altogether

-Maintain match and show quality without Wolfsbaine

-Develop prospects other than myself

I know that many of the regional US companies are unstable, so it is not uncommon for the regional battles to die out after a year or two if you are putting on solid shows and they are not from the region, but mostly working through spillover.

I've been wanting to do one of these for years and finally found the time. I wasn't going to share my first run through since I was certain I would go bankrupt in my first attempt. At the end of my first year I roll a 49 and take the $56k. I feel bad one of our 27 fans passed but it's pretty awesome he saw the company going places so he left us everything he had! Haha I think this might be a long term game now.

Doing it. Company is called World of Wrestling. Hard version (all preferences turned on, I tend not to play with fog of war, grades over numbers and dirt sheet hidden but whatever). Ultimate goal is to become as big as I possibly can without compromising the promotion's style. Have the default Respect for Wrestling product. In Ontario (Canada) and ThunderVerse. Didn't start with an owner but hopefully I don't get saddled with a bad one.

So, I decided to start one with the 1987 rl mod, making a sports entertainment pop>perf in the mid west. I'm two years in, taking it very, very slowly after a trial run saw my finances vanish.

Whats happened so far -

Owner is Joe Pedicino. He gave me 100k when he bought the company, with goals so far just to keep the company in the black. He also hates small guys, forbidding me to sign Cruiser/Japanese Junior/Luchador/Spot Monkeys.

Still at Local, Pop is currently F

UC is hovering around mid card, slowly gaining skills, not that the end of year events are helping. Rolled 53 - Casting Call and 4 - Chance Encounter, bringing in Danny Collins.

Lost one of my Main Eventers, Jim Lancaster after WCW founded. Probably for the best given his preaching was annoying everyone.

I decided to take the plunge into the RtG world to keep myself from advancing my CWT diary file until I've written my next show. Using the CV-1997 mod, I'd added the HIGHLY UNIQUE character, Jim Heatly (Stats below) and created Great Lakes Wrestling (Key: Mainstream, Heavy: Traditional, Medium: Modern). Eugene Williams took over the company and changed the product drastically - Medium: Mainstream; Low: Traditional and Modern.

The game world was really nice to me as the industry started around a D+ and has rose the whole year. The U.S. Economy started in the tank, but by the time it really started to matter was up to average.

My strategy going into the game was as follows:

[*]Hire five more workers, one veteran max. Add cheap wrestlers throughout the year as needed.

[*]Run weekly shows until morale issues arise due to debt ($10,000). Then run shows as soon as the problem goes away.

[*]Make sure that debt is under control by the end of the year.

That plan worked out perfectly. Deano Machino, Jay Darkness, Jimmy Cox, and Tom Gilmore started out the year in a round robin tournament to decide who would become the first GLW Great Lakes champion (and East Coast supremacy). This story played out over the course of the first six shows with each event hosting one round robin matchup. The wrestlers not in the round robin match-up would either beat Jim Heatly or lose to the veteran, Lee Bennett. Tom Gilmore would win a 4-way elimination match for the title after the round robin ended in a 4-way tie, defending the title throughout the year. Jay Darkness would win the title in August after Lee Bennett accidentally cost Tom the match when trying to stop Jay's minion Snap Dragon from interfering. While Tom wasn't mad at Lee for the miscommunication, I wonder if there isn't going to be any resentment going forward since the year ended with Lee Bennett becoming the GLW Great Lakes title.

Storyline aside, the promotion did extremely well even with the weird product levels. With the thin roster (6 wrestlers for most of the year and only 10 at the end), we were able to run 20 shows throughout the year. More importantly each show gained the company at least 0.5% of overness and we will start 1998 with 10.2% popularity in the Great Lakes. I wasn't able to get us into the black, but our -$3,973 balance is more than manageable, even with the additions I plan to make (an announcer and two popular wrestlers to help us in the upcoming regional battles).

I also got pretty lucky with how the wrestlers I signed were handled by other promotions as Lee Bennett, Tom Gilmore, and Jimmy Cox all had one or more tours in Japan, especially Lee Bennett who is up to a 40 in Japan. Between that and the wrestlers' North American commitments, the roster has improved a ton over 1997. Speaking of improvements, let's look and Jim (who got the "You Can Dance If You Wanna" bonus).

Finally, Jim Heatly ended up in the Power 500 list, #499 with a bullet!
