The book was a simple thing about a small wrestling promotion that was trying to find itself, not a best selling novel or anything and for the most part it was highly fictionalized. Every character trait overemphasized, every minor argument blown up to be a big juicy plot point. Every snippet of conversation turned into being a massive battle. The tale is a tale he’s gotten used to telling before to various uninterested parties. “They made me into a hopeless alcoholic. My boss into an asshole. Hell, they even turned my little cousin into this great beast who annoyed me. I mean, sure, Chuckie is a bit of a kid at times. But he’s family, you know?” Pausing once more, David took a long drink from his bottle of beer and sighed again. “I think the final straw was when Bob started getting jibes thrown his way. Day before the first show of 2015, Bob messages me and says he’s done. He’d done some work for DIW but remained loyal to his idea. But after that, he just packed up and moved out to the east coast. Still keep in touch with him. Same with a few of the guys.” David picked up the bottle and took another drink, finishing the bottle. The bartender looked at David expectantly. David fished around in his pocket until a mysterious $50 found it’s way into the bartender’s hand. Was able to prove that the producers of the show were clearly basing the characters off of us. Got that bastard…” DA: “I see where you’re going with this Abner. Explains the $50 note. But I still don’t see what you want mate, I’m sorry.” AV: “If you’d let me finish Dave, I was going to say I got that bastard who wrote that damn book in the first place as well. I made out like a bandit Dave. It was just a big empty abandoned warehouse in the middle of Adelaide. DA: “It’s...eh….something?” AV: “Of course it’s something! It’s ours.” David Avatar shrugged and stubbed his cigarette out on the sidewalk. AV: “So David. Are you in?” David Avatar regretted the words that came out of his mouth almost instantly. Wrestling had left a bad taste in his mouth. Television doubly so. But still, something about Abner’s infectious enthusiasm as well as the burning hatred David had for Tristam Day’s actions plunging him into the WILD world he entered resonated with him. DA: “I’m in Abner”. Abner threw his arms up in celebration and laughed. AV: “Welcome to Project Anarky Dave. We’re going to show those dumbasses at RAW how it’s done.” David Avatar began to walk away until he heard Abner call after him. AV: “DAVE! One more thing…” David turned around, mildly annoyed at Abner. AV: “We own the station we’re on. Perks of having a good family lawyer. See ya Monday”. David Avatar was stunned into silence as Abner happily walked away.
