<p>PRE SHOW</p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Chris Harris defeated Destrey Lapointe in 6:04 by pinfall with a Catatonic. <strong>40</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Londrick and The Wolves defeated Christian York & Joey Matthews and Life of Brians in a 4 vs 4 - Elimination match in 9:51; Johnson Brian was eliminated first, then Joey Matthews, then Brian Johnson, and finally Christian York. <strong>55</strong></p><p>

<strong>Survivors: Brian Kendrick, Paul London, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL 3</strong></p><p>

Sunday, week 2, February 2009</p><p>

James Brown Arena, Augusta, Georgia</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT2yi9DLMwdILkx2StGEdXDNU1ayA4nMZEVh1XC523ghA06NB7d" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT2yi9DLMwdILkx2StGEdXDNU1ayA4nMZEVh1XC523ghA06NB7d" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Masked Group v The Hitmen (Davey Boy Smith ©, Nattie Neidhart, Ricky Steamboat Jr & TJ Wilson, with Bret Hart)</strong></p><p>

The Hitmen clearly had anger in their eyes as they wanted revenge on the four men who have tormented them and Bret Hart this year. One big problem… they didn't have a clue who they were facing.</p><p>

Nattie Neidhart was eliminated first by pinfall after a DDT.</p><p>

TJ Wilson was next eliminated, tapping out to a Dragon Sleeper.</p><p>

One of the masked men was next to go, as Ricky Steamboat Jr defeated him by pinfall following a top rope high cross body.</p><p>

Steamboat himself went next, by pinfall after a vicious powerbomb.</p><p>

Davey Boy Smith was left alone against three masked men. He fought valiantly and got rid of one courtesy of a Running Powerslam, but he was over powered shortly afterwards in 9:38 by a spike piledriver. <strong>50</strong></p><p><strong>

Survivors: Two masked men</strong></p><p>

TJ Wilson is improving in performance skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Rob Van Dam is backstage. He speaks about tonight's match with Chris Jericho, saying he respects him a lot but tonight he is going to win the PSW National Championship. RVD then continues his stretching routine. <strong>76</strong></p><p>

Rob Van Dam enjoyed going off script and performed well.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hero's Heroes (Chris Hero ©, Austin Aries, Drew McIntyre & Jay Lethal) v Team Rocky (Rocky Romero © (TV champion), Carly Colon, Low Ki & Psychosis</strong></p><p>

A good quality match between competitors with varied styles.</p><p>

First eliminated was Jay Lethal when Low Ki hit him with a stiff kick to the back of the head.</p><p>

Rocky Romero was a surprise early elimination when Chris Hero despatched him with a Hero's Welcome.</p><p>

Austin Aries was next to walk back to the showers when Psychosis hit him with a 450 splash.</p><p>

Psychosis quickly follwed him when Drew McIntyre rolled him for.</p><p>

McIntyre also got rid of Carly Colon with a Future Shock DDT.</p><p>

McIntyre himself was then sent packing by Low Ki by submission.</p><p>

Chris Hero performed the captain's duty as he won it for his team in 13:19, when he hit a second Hero's Welcome of the night to defeat Low Ki. <strong>68</strong></p><p><strong>

Survivor: Chris Hero</strong></p><p>

Carly Colon is improving in technical skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/Generic04_zpsownldjao.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Kevin Steen (champion) v Matt Sydal</strong></p><p>

A high quality match where Steen's hard hitting varied offence was able to triumph over Sydal's fast paced, high flying action. This was one of, if not the best Youth Championship match in PSW history and is an indication on how well Steen is developing as the Youth champion. His latest successful defence came in 13:16 by submission with a Sharpshooter. Kevin Steen makes defence number 12 of his PSW Youth Championship title. <strong>77</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho spoke from backstage. Holding the National Championship, he said there is no way Rob Van Dam is taking this from him tonight and there is nobody in PSW who will do so ever. <strong>82</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho improvised well.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Cripplers (Chris Benoit ©, Christopher Daniels, Eiji Ezaki & John Cena) v Straight Edge (CM Punk ©, AJ Styles, Alex Wright & Amazing Red</strong></p><p>

This match was perhaps a little disappointing, not as good as many expected it to be.</p><p>

First gone was Amazing Red when Daniels eliminated him with the Best Moonsault Ever.</p><p>

John Cena was the first Crippler to go, AJ Styles hitting him with a Styles Clash.</p><p>

Alex Wright was third to go to the back, the German being vanquished by Eiji Ezaki.</p><p>

Christopher Daniels was sent to sleep by CM Punk and the Go To Sleep.</p><p>

CM Punk and AJ Styles were both defeated by Chris Benoit, both courtesy of the Crossface Crippler, with AJ going last in 14:45/ <strong>67</strong></p><p><strong>

Survivors: Chris Benoit & Eiji Ezaki</strong></p><p>

Alex Wright is improving in rumble skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/GenericTagTeam02_zpsa9f639bc.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Spanish Announce Team (champions) v Desperate Measures</strong></p><p>

A good but little short Tag Team Championship match. Aaron Stevens and Yoshihiro Tajiri fought hard in trying to reclaim a championship that was once theirs. The Maximos brothers have been impressive since winning the championship via the Feast or Fired briefcase and this was their most impressive win to date, with it arriving in 12:01 when Joel Maximo defeated Aaron Stevens by pinfall with a Spanish Fly. Spanish Announce Team make defence number 2 of their PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. <strong>71</strong></p><p>

Aaron Stevens is improving in technical skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Sting makes the draw for the Ultimate Battle For Survival… <strong>75</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ULTIMATE BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL</strong></p><p><strong>

Survivors challenge for the PSW National Championship at Lethal</strong></p><p><strong>

Randy Orton, Keiji Sakoda, Roderick Strong & Daniel Lyon v Adam Copeland, Colt Cabana, Jeff Jarrett & Lance Storm</strong></p><p>

Once the draw had been made, the match looked a little lop sided with three established stars from their WCW and or WWE days on one team. The match panned out that way.</p><p>

First to go was Colt Cabana, with Randy Orton scoring his teams only success by pinfall following a RKO.</p><p>

All of his team then went in order. First it was Orton himself who was hit be a spear by Copeland, a Superkick by Storm and a finally Stroke by Jarrett. Perhaps surprisingly given a championship match is at stake to all survivors, this trio worked very well together.</p><p>

Keiji Sakoda followed next in, submitting to Jarrett's Figure Four.</p><p>

Next gone was Daniel Lyon courtesy of Lance Storm and a vicious looking piledriver.</p><p>

Finally Roderick Strong went in 20:46. Copeland got ready of him after a reverse DDT. Copeland, Jarrett and Storm stood with arms aloft in the ring, then it dawned on them at all three of them will challenge for the National Championship at Lethal next month and things got a little tense. <strong>82</strong></p><p><strong>

Survivors: Adam Copeland, Jeff Jarrett & Lance Storm</strong></p><p>

Adam Copeland is improving in technical skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho (champion) v Rob Vam Dam</strong></p><p>

An excellent match, a classic that WWE would be proud of. The fans were on their feet for much of the match as Jericho hit a Lion Sault and locked in a Lion Tamer while Rob Van Dam went Coast to Coast and also hit a Five Star Frog Splash yet neither man could finish off the other,</p><p>

The end did come when Jericho avoided a split legged moonsault from RVD and quickly locked in the Lion Tamer to win in 32:59 by submission. Chris Jericho makes defence number 10 of his PSW National Championship title. <strong>98 – match of the night</strong></p><p>

Rob Van Dam's win streak ends at five.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Show rating: A 91</strong></p><p>

PSW has increased in popularity in the South East.</p><p>

Attendance: 9,167 (sell out, sixth highest in PSW history)</p><p>

Profit: $136,675</p><p> </p><p>

The show was PSW's third best in history.</p><p>

Chris Jericho v Rob Van Dam was PSW's third best ever match.</p>
