In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Alex Shelley defeated Matt Jackson in 5:44 by submission with a Border City Stretch. <strong>44</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW WEEKLY</strong></p><p>

Monday, week 2, January 2009</p><p>

Broadcast on America One on Tuesday late evening</p><p>

Announcers: Potter & Dusty Rhodes</p><p>

BankUnited Center, Coral Gables, Florida</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSuNAzX0IYxZ2EAErPKQNSbfWPXUYa39gzPgsRwyrauc73UxpLTLA" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSuNAzX0IYxZ2EAErPKQNSbfWPXUYa39gzPgsRwyrauc73UxpLTLA" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The group of four masked men are on screen in a dark, abandoned building, it looks to be a warehouse. The four men are roughing up a fifth men and as the camera zooms closer, this man is revealed to be Davey Boy Smith. Potter and Dusty Rhodes again voice their disgust and question what they are doing with Davey Boy Smith. <strong>22</strong></p><p>

Davey Boy Smith has debuted without a specific gimmick, rated 71</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>America's Most Wanted v Slaughter's Soldiers</strong></p><p>

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Slaughter's Soldiers defeated America's Most Wanted in 5:53 when Iven Lessard defeated James Storm by pinfall with a Hang Time Butt-Drop. <strong>38</strong></p><p>

Iven Michaud is improving in performance and rumble skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Bret Hart is in his Director of Operations office, packing some things together. He says first Teddy and now Davey Boy, things have gone too far and if nobody else will find the masked group, he will do it himself. <strong>76</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/GenericTV01_zps79d95516.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>PSW TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

Rocky Romero (champion) v Roderick Strong (with Sting)</strong></p><p>

The rematch from last week. In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Rocky Romero defeated Roderick Strong in 12:01 by submission. Rocky Romero makes defence number 1 of his PSW TV Title title. <strong>58</strong></p><p>

Sting did good work at ringside.</p><p>

Roderick Strong needs something to freshen his character up.</p><p>

The two didn't click and the bout looked awkward.</p><p> </p><p>

Dusty Rhodes interviews Spanish Announce Team and Amazing Red. Dusty congratulates the Maximos on becoming the new National Tag Team champions. SAT thank Dusty and thank Red for helping their plan come together. Red says he is always happy to help family. <strong>40</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cade Thesz v Rob Van Dam</strong></p><p>

Cade blames RVD for losing the National Tag Team Championship, blame that many feel is misplaced. Here he fought with anger and through pain, as his knee injury clearly hampered him in the match. As a result, RVD's win was straight forward in 7:55 by pinfall with a Frog Splash. <strong>58</strong></p><p>

Cade Thesz lost his ninth straight match.</p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho meets Kevin Steen backstage as Steen is getting ready to face his New Wave tag team mate. Jericho says he is glad the fans have chosen Steen as his opponent. Steen takes this as Jericho thinks he will be an easy opponent, gets in Jericho's face and tells him he is facing one of the toughest guys on the PSW roster. Jericho tells Steen to calm down. He says Steen is a great Youth champion and he deserves the opportunity to fight the best in the business. Jericho finishes by saying the best man will win. <strong>67</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho came across well.</p><p>

Kevin Steen underperformed. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Austin Aries (1-0-1) v Kevin Steen (0-0-2, Youth champion)</strong></p><p>

On evidence of this match you would not think that the two competitors are tag team partners as this was a hard fought contest. In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Kevin Steen defeated Austin Aries in 11:29 by pinfall with a Steenalizer. <strong>64</strong></p><p>

This was Kevin Steen's 100th singles match in PSW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

CM Punk (2-0-0) v Eiji Ezaki (2-0-0)</strong></p><p>

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Eiji Ezaki defeated CM Punk in 19:47 by pinfall with a Phoenix Splash. <strong>73 – match of the night</strong></p><p>

There was a lack of psychology which resulted in the match drifting a little.</p><p> </p><p>

Everybody thinks the show is over… until Cade Thesz walks to the ring without music. He says he is sick of this dump. He is sick of the idiot fans, he is sick of the idiots he has to wrestle and he is sick of Potter, the owner of the joke of a company who always keeps him down. Before his can finish his rant, he gets cut off… <strong>49</strong></p><p>

…as we go to a very disturbing scene at the abandoned building. The four masked men have Davey Boy kneeling in front of them. One of them takes out a sword and puts it to Davey's throat and America One cut transmission before anything else is seen. <strong>21</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Show rating: C+ 70</strong></p><p>

PSW increased popularity in six regions. PSW lost popularity in South East.</p><p>

Attendance: 7,041</p><p>

TV rating: 0.46 (down 0.04)</p><p>

Profit: $65,695</p><p> </p><p>
