<strong>Fans' Choice 2009</strong></p><p>

Sunday, week 2, January 2009</p><p>

Columbus Civic Center, Columbus, Georgia</p><p>

<strong>Motor City Machine Guns v Matt Sydal & T.J. Perkins</strong></p><p>

A very good opening match in the first of five contests tonight selected by prediction competition winners at Christmas Feast 2008. This could also be the birth of an impressive new team as Sydal and TJP won on their maiden outing together in 6:15 when Matt Sydal defeated Chris Sabin by submission. <strong>64</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Kevin Steen speaks from backstage. Steen says he is ready to hurt Jericho tonight and become the first man to hold the National and Youth championships at the same time. <strong>67</strong></p><p>

Kevin Steen was very underwhelming.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Spanish Announce Team (champions) v Slaughter's Soldiers</strong></p><p>

A good contest though the crowd were not really into it. Slaughter's Soldiers tried their best but they weren't able to overcome the champion brothers who made a comfortable first defence in 6:06 when Joel Maximo defeated Iven Lessard by pinfall. Spanish Announce Team make defence number 1 of their PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. <strong>55</strong></p><p>

Jose Maximo is improving in performance skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Chris Jericho has his turn to address his opponent tonight. Jericho says he respects Steen and acknowledges he is having a very impressive run as the Youth champion. Jericho says he is in a different league, the top league, and he asks Steen if he really is good enough yet to take the belt. <strong>80</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho did very well improvising dialogue and came across very well.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CM Punk v Roderick Strong</strong></p><p>

Strong has lost his last two – the TV Title defence and the rematch and is without Sting at ringside tonight. This seemed to have an effect as he did not trouble Punk too much in this match. Punk duly took the spoils in 11:45 by submission with an Arm Triangle Choke. <strong>69</strong></p><p>

Roderick Strong has switched to a cocky gimmick, rated 74.</p><p>

The two didn't click and it showed in their performances.</p><p>

Roderick Strong is improving in rumble skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE THIRD DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Drew McIntyre (1-0-0) v Jeff Jarrett (1-0-0)</strong></p><p>

A good contest with Drew's hard hitting all round style matching up well with Jarrett's more technical offence. McIntyre scored some near falls but it was the veteran Jarrett who prevailed in 13:08 by submission with a Figure-Four Leglock. <strong>65</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Rob Van Dam (1-0-1) v Yoshihiro Tajiri (2-0-0)</strong></p><p>

The second of three Grappler's League matches saw two former National Tag Team champions fight each other in a throwback to the days of ECW. The match was even, minus the chaos of the former land of extreme and it was RVD who edged it in 15:27 by pinfall with a Frog Splash. <strong>72</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Aaron Stevens (1-0-1) v Randy Orton (0-0-1)</strong></p><p>

A keenly contested match and ebbed and flowed with both men having numerous chances to close out the match. It was Randy Orton who triumphed to chalk up his first win in the Premier Division in 18:21 by pinfall with an O-Zone. <strong>78</strong></p><p>

Aaron Stevens was really off his game.</p><p>

The two displayed great chemistry and it showed in their performances.</p><p>

Aaron Stevens is improving in technical skills.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS</strong></p><p><strong>

Chris Jericho (champion) v Kevin Steen (Youth champion)</strong></p><p>

A tremendous match where Steen took Jericho to the limit.</p><p>

The first fall went as expected, as Jericho locked on the Lion Tamer and Steen, perhaps wisely considering there would be at least one more fall tapped out in 11:21.</p><p>

The second fall surprised many. It was clear Jericho was not taking his opponent lightly but Steen hit the Steenalizer which was the equaliser in 17:30 when he got a three count.</p><p>

Steen had momentum and was on top. He hit another Steenalizer but this time Jericho was too close to the ropes and he was able to put his foot on the bottom rope. He then rolled out of the ring to regroup. He slowly regained control and locked on another Lion Tamer. This time, Steen refused to give up but was clearly badly affected by the hold. Jericho let go of the hold and with Steen unable to get up, he nailed the Lion Sault to win in 21:37. Chris Jericho makes defence number 9 of his PSW National Championship title. <strong>93 -match of the night</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho has won his last fifteen matches.</p><p>

Following the match, Adam Copeland strides to the ring. He tells Jericho he has his sights set on his title and he has the Feast or Fired briefcase to get it. <strong>77</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AJ Styles v Chris Benoit</strong></p><p>

A very good match that went on for a long time without the crowd becoming disinterested, though it was overshadowed by the championship match that preceded it. AJ gave his all, but the wily veteran Benoit eventually got the better of his much younger challenger in 40:50 by pinfall with a Dragon Suplex. <strong>86</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW WEEKLY</strong></p><p>

Monday, week 3, January 2008</p><p>

Broadcast on America One on Tuesday late evening</p><p>

Announcers: Potter & Dusty Rhodes</p><p>

Germain Arena, Estero, Florida</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQEGhTB6W5wjDrAPPDYoABmUn8UJBlZMFn0oPkFmWdKJZh2rGg" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQEGhTB6W5wjDrAPPDYoABmUn8UJBlZMFn0oPkFmWdKJZh2rGg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

PSW Weekly starts with Potter in the ring. The PSW Owner announces that given what is going on at the moment he is going to have to temporarily relieve Bret Hart of his duties as he is unable to focus on the job at hand. Because of this, Potter appoints an Interim Director of Operations… and he introduces Sting as the man to take short term control of wrestling operations. Sting shakes Potter's hand and he says he will continue the great work Bret Hart has been doing. <strong>63</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Christian York & Joey Matthews v The Jackson 2</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Christian York & Joey Matthews defeated The Jackson Two in 6:02 when Joey Matthews defeated Nick Jackson by pinfall. <strong>44</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Bret Hart is seen alone in an unknown location. He is clearly angry as he leads a one man search party, shouting “Davey Boy” as he goes. <strong>88</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE THIRD DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Chris Harris (0-0-2) v John Cena (1-0-1)</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, John Cena defeated Chris Harris in 7:55 by pinfall with a Spin-out powerbomb. <strong>57</strong></p><p>

The two have pretty good chemistry which lifted the match.</p><p> </p><p>

Dusty Rhodes speaks to Rob Van Dam. Dusty asks if RVD is expecting a title match now he is the highest ranked wrestler behind Chris Jericho. RVD said he would love one and is ready for it should it arrive. <strong>60</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

Rocky Romero (champion) v Psychosis</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Rocky Romero defeated Psychosis in 10:29 by pinfall. Rocky Romero makes defence number 2 of his PSW TV Title title. <strong>54</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Sting comes to the ring and says he is making his first act as the Interim Director of Operations. He asks Chris Jericho to come to the ring and the National champion obliges. Sting tells Jericho that Battle for Survival 3 is four weeks away and in past years the highest ranked wrestler challenges for the National Championship. He says this year is no different so The Icon introduces Rob Van Dam as the challenger.</p><p>

Out walks Rob Van Dam as the fans cheer the prospect of a dream match. The two share a showdown and that's it as Sting wishes both men well. <strong>74</strong></p><p>

Chris Jericho's performance was good.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION</strong></p><p><strong>

Carly Colon (0-0-2) v Matt Sydal (1-1-0)</strong></p><p>

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Matt Sydal defeated Carly Colon in 11:14 by pinfall. <strong>67</strong></p><p>

Carly Colon has lost his last five matches.</p><p> </p><p>

We are back in the abandoned warehouse, the scene of the very disturbing footage that was cut at the end of last week's show. There is a shred of good news… Davey Boy Smith is alive but barely conscious as the four masked men perform a ceremony in a foreign language. They seem to be enjoying themselves but nobody watching is. <strong>22</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chris Benoit v Lance Storm</strong></p><p>

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Chris Benoit defeated Lance Storm in 20:02 by pinfall with a Dragon Suplex. <strong>78 – match of the night</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<p>PRE SHOW</p><p>

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, America's Most Wanted defeated Life of Brians in 6:20 when James Storm defeated Brian Johnson by pinfall with a 8-Second Ride.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>PSW WEEKLY</strong></p><p>

Monday, week 1, December 2008</p><p>

Broadcast on America One on Tuesday late evening</p><p>

Announcers: Potter & Dusty Rhodes</p><p>

Charles E. Smith Center, Washington D.C.</p><p>

<img alt="images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSF23nOLqYShR0AVcQHk3cEE16rQiph_OomylQZxE7uk5z0EVhpaA" data-src="https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSF23nOLqYShR0AVcQHk3cEE16rQiph_OomylQZxE7uk5z0EVhpaA" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

We start this week's show with a harrowing scene in the abandoned warehouse. Davey Boy Smith is tied to a chair and clearly in a bad state. He watches on with horror as the four masked men walk in with a bloody Nattie Neidhart. They throw her to the floor and stand over her, chanting in a foreign language and doing a slow hand clap. The camera cuts out before anything truly horrific is seen. <strong>14</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Destrey Lapointe v Ricky Steamboat Jr</strong></p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Ricky Steamboat Jr. defeated Destrey Lapointe in 6:12 by pinfall with a Flying Karate Chop. <strong>39</strong></p><p> </p><p>

An unknown man in a suit strides to the ring to no music. He is given a microphone. Before he can speak, PSW Owner Potter gets into the ring, demanding to know who the hell he is and why the hell he is in his ring. The unknown man tells Potter not to use such a tone or he will find himself in a lot of trouble. He introduces himself as Stuart Ball of Ball Baggs Lawyers. He says there is a lawsuit in place with proof that Potter is sexist. Potter denies this only for Stuart Ball to ask how many female talent work in PSW. Potter quietly says none. Ball tells Potter he and his company will get sued for millions unless PSW employ female talent as soon as possible. Ball leaves and Potter looks shell shocked. <strong>36</strong></p><p>

Stuart Ball has debuted a lawyer gimmick, rated 67.</p><p> </p><p>
