I picked up a new laptop today but I've spent most of the day downloading all my stuff from onedrive. The Daz stuff alone is like 40 gigs of crap, along with all the renders and logos I've done and all my TEW stuff. Hopefully I will have everything downloaded and installed by tomorrow and can get the preview of AWO posted. Thank goodness I saved everything to onedrive so I don't have to start over on everything!

It takes lots of Ribbing and hopefully your road agent takes a liking to him.

Australia

It looks like a fantastic mod with some really great looking renders - I just thought I'd make a couple of small suggestions in case you were still adding workers and tweaking things.

The set up of TEW is very misleading for Australasia - the pop distribution of Australasia is actually like this

New Zealand 4.5

Western - 2.5

Central - 2

Eastern - 19

17 of the 20 largest population centres in Mainland Australia all fall on the East Coast, and the state capitols of the 3 states on the East Coast are all more populated than the whole of the Western or Central regions.

All the TV broadcasters are based on the East Coast or a largely separate lot in New Zealand

So if you are setting up regions and want something that is remotely realistic then any feds with any sort of size really need to be in either NZ or Eastern.

As for racial mix there probably should be more Pacific, Indian & Asian workers than Black. There are only about 3% Aboriginal Australians (it's really akin to Native American) but they have a tradition of being great athletes so it's fine if up to about 10% of workers are Black. The Maori and other Pacific Island peoples make up a much larger % of the regions population (about 22.5% in NZ). Asians make up around 10% across the board (especially Indian and Chinese)

In the Cornellverse some sort of weird thing happened where millions of extra people moved to Perth (in the West) making it much larger than it actually is rather than reality where it is actually the most isolated major city on earth (furthest away from the nearest major population centre). Having RAW and APW based in the West in reality is kind if akin to having the WWE & TNA based out of Salt Lake City n the US.

Really looking forward to your mod - it looks really good so far

Rather than making workers with looks or backgrounds you find interesting, eventually you'd (or at least I would) wind up cynically creating characters to fill a kind of quota. That's not to say the demographic info isn't useful though. I personally didn't know that there were sizeable Indian and Chinese populations in Australia and that, to me, opens up more ideas for workers based in Australia. I could also be completely off-base on all of this and that would be why I only write bios.

Oh and speaking as a Midwest kid, a better "city in the middle of nowhere" example would be Fargo. Salt Lake is actually fairly close to bigger cities by the standards of us "drive thirty minutes to go shopping" folks. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Swanton

Totally understand your points.

With the pop info it was meant to point out that the fed that is set up in Oz at Cult level really should be in Eastern Oz if you want any level of reality. Anything in Western or Central really wouldn't end up anything more than regional but something in New Zealand or Eastern could potentially grow into something much larger.

It shouldn't effect the gameplay at all because all 4 areas are treated as overlapping for the purposes TV and pop etc.

I always have a few probs with the Cornellverse - to me it seems like a weird alternate world where some odd quirks have occurred. Like Womens wrestlers - in the Cverse there are what 3 Australian or New Zealand women wresters in the whole game where in the real world there are 3 on the WWE's roster and about 5 or 6 in the Joshi promotions and about 10 that turn up in Shimmer, Shine, WSU or FF in Nth America and many are pretty high level talent. There are no Samoan or other islander women in ring talents which is just bizarre and frankly there are way too few Islanders in general. There are lots of valets in game but in the real world that's kind of gone by the way side with even the ones you do see being actual in ring workers who wrestle occasionally rather than pure outside of ring talent (Lana, Maryse etc). Same goes with Middle Eastern, Indian or Chinese workers. The numbers are way down - you don't see Sami Zayn's or Aron Rex's in the C-verse - middle eastern workers are few and far between same with Indians and theres virtually no chinese workers at all. There are virtually no Gay workers in the game and whilst people tend to keep that quiet (Darren Young & Pat Patterson being notable exceptions) it's probably around 5% of talent in the real world but in the C-verse it's closer to 0.5%.

To me the Cverse is a universe where a Wrestlemania moment or Monday Night Wars never happened and wrestling stayed at a cultish level rather than ever hitting those high points. Everything feels like a version of the world where some companies the territory system just grew a little bit larger but stayed the same somewhat staid and slightly repetitive world that typified that era. One of the things mods allow people to do is add a lot more diversity to the games talent. That's why I mentioned the demographic info because this particular mods makers clearly are putting in a lot of effort to create something that looks visually stunning and if they are still tweaking things in the more obscure parts of the world like Australasia then knowing that there are lots of Pacific islanders, Indians and Chinese people might give them a few more ideas if they are trying to make the world feel immersive. If they don't use the info no biggie but having the info doesn't hurt.

Oh and I chose Salt Lake because in a weird alternate universe the mega-state/country of Deseret exits with it as it's capitol. So it's kind of akin to what's happened to Perth in the Cverse.

As I said everything looks great so far with this mod and no matter what choices they make I'm very hopeful for it's overall quality .

Location: Tri-State

Size: Local

Product: Theatrical Entertainment (50/50 match/angle ratio)

Womens Wrestling: N/A

Founded by theater owner Richard Theus, American Wrestling Odyssey is a local wrestling promotion located in the New York, NY. Theus, a classically trained stage actor is his own right, saw the rising popularity of wrestling in the Tri-State area and looked to fuse elements of stage acting with traditional pro wrestling. A product he deemed theatrical entertainment.

American Wrestling Odyssey or AWO for short, is an ode to Theus's love for Classic Greek Mythology. All workers are required to take on the persona of a well known mythological character such as Zeus, Poseidon or Odysseus. Kayfabe is strictly followed in AWO where fans will see epic heroes take on mythological beasts and evil villains. Storylines are based on epic tales like the Odyssey and the Iliad and AWO shows focus way more on angles and storyline progression than actual wrestling.

Along with these epic storylines AWO features some rules and matches that are quite different then your average wrestling show. One particular rule states that title matches are contested under the rules of mortal combat. After the match, the loser is presented to the crowd by Hades, where he initiates the thumbs up or thumbs down signal. Based on the crowds cheers that worker is either spared and allowed to continue living in the mortal realm or subsequently executed and taken to the Underworld by Hades.

Once in the underworld that worker must win three matches in a row to gain the right to challenge Hades to an "Escape From The Underworld" match. This match, an AWO staple, is a traditional cage match with a pole mounted at the top of one corner of the cage. Hanging from the pole is a key. The challenger must climb up the cage and retrieve the key, then use the key to unlock the cage door and escape from the cage. Hades however can win the match by pin-fall or submission, he does not have to retrieve the key and escape the cage to win. If the challenger can successfully escape through the door, then they will win the "Key To The Mortal Realm" Championship. This championship not only grants him passage back to the mortal world but also grants him a title shot at any time of his choosing. Once that worker cashes in his championship for a title shot the "Key To The Mortal Realm" championship is returned to the Underworld, where another fallen worker can challenge Hades for it.

AWO runs one show a month primarily in NYC, and though still in it's infancy, is catching the attention of fans looking for something different then your typical sports entertainment product.

Another question that occurs to me, when in the Underworld, is the wrestler down there essentially stuck until he wins his three matches or is he just lost after a certain point? Can mortal wrestlers face those in the underworld or are they treated like separate divisions? I'd see difficulty in the latter as the crowd would more than likely keep all the faces and send down the heels unless some kind of heel chicanery was at work (like bewitching the speakers with cheers or boos to overrule the crowd)

Zeus is a face????? WTF!!!! That's one father murdering, incest lovin, rape happy, human torturing bastisch to be playing face - sorry I'm just not feeling that. He makes Stone Cold seem like a placid and reasonable man.

Once again I just have to say how spectacular those renders are.

For the most part I envisioned workers stuck in the Underworld getting there three wins in a row over guys lower on the card. It will give the low card guys experience and help their stats and it will be easier to get a "deceased" worker back to the realm of the living.

I actually am going to add separate angles so the player can choose whether the loser lives or dies, to cater to whatever the storyline dictates.

The one thing that intrigued me about the Underworld is that you can have multiple guys down there at once, so you can have one worker interfere in another workers match and screw them out of getting their 3 wins in a row and what not. It sets up all kinds of possibilities for new feuds and storylines if you don't want to follow the classic "hero is defeated by giant beast and suffers tragedy then fights and claws his way back, to finally defeat the beast once and for all" story.

Since only one worker can hold the key to the mortal realm at one time, you can also have two other workers feuding to get the chance to challenge Hades while the key holder waits to challenge the champion. There really are so many possibilities. This might be my favorite promotion to book at this point.

Zeus is a face????? Besides, he is the thunder god, he can be whatever he wants. His performance stats are set to 85/85 so just push someone up the card and turn him if you want, or book him like Stone Cold and have him beat the crap out of everyone, not just heels. I'm glad you like the renders btw.

Is AWO going to have a dojo? It seems like an easy dojo to have graduates for.

Just imagined an "evil" version of AWO where they use the Roman names and they're based on the West Coast.

Only nitpick is that Hercules is the Roman name for the character. Heracles is the Greek.

That said, Hercules and Hades might be two of my favorite renders ever.

As far as an evil version, perhaps I will add that in an expansion. That would actually be an interesting take.

Yeah, I actually meant to save the render as Heracles, but it was late and I was half asleep and I think my auto-correct kicked in.
Ok can this just be released now so I can play as the AWO?

I agree on a dojo as there are so many names left out that I feel like would make great recruits coming in.

Either way absolutely amazing I'm loving this entire universe. You've done a fantastic job from the renders to the stories to evenly pacing out the information to build your world.
