<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:18px;">New Developmental Workers Signed</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

CWL has announced the Leonardo Velasco has signed a developmental deal. Velasco was previously employed by TGL from December 2021 to November 2022. Velasco is also a professional fighter that is currently training for his second professional fight. He won his last fight by submission in the second round.</p><p> </p><p>

CWL has also signed Jamie Puder (no relation to Clyde Puder). Jamie is thirty-one years old and is a former professional fighter. Most notably, he fought for GAMMA where he once the Heavyweight Championship and had two successful defenses. At 6'2" and 278 pounds, Puder is a very dangerous striker who is known for his devastating headkicks. He turned to wrestling two years ago after losing a rematch for the Heavyweight Championshp and wanting to switch gears. CWL is his first name organization that he has worked for. He will be starting in TGL.</p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:18px;">New Champions in TGL</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

"The Arctic Wolf" Brody Irons defeated "Cowboy" Buck Winchester for the Texas Heavyweight Championship. Buck had managed three defences before losing to the Anchorage Heavyweight. This is Irons first professional championship.</p><p> </p><p>

Leo Loynes also began his fourth reign (a record setting reign) as Texas Junior Heavyweight Champion. He defeated Steven Stewart -- who had beaten him for the championship. Stewart had only managed one defence prior and was injured in the bout, suffering a blown ear drum after an enzugari landed flush with his ear.</p><p> </p><p>

Debra Wood ended Courtney Metzger's reign as Texas Women's Champion after seven successful defences. This is Wood's first reign with the championship.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Big Arrivals Coming</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

Vice President of Talent Relations, Ricky Dale Johnson has announced that both the men's division and women's division are about to get injected with two big stars -- one for each division. These are said to be national names that could really help attract new eyeballs to the CWL product. We do know that the male wrestler has worked for TCW, USPW, and most recently SOTBPW where he was the Campeonato del Mundo -- his highest achievement in his long career. The female wrestler has worked for NOTBPW and USPW and held the Women's Championship in both. </p><p> </p><p>

Who do you think the new signings are?</p><p> </p><p>

<p>The mega prospect Irons must be further along than any of us had thought if the AI already put the title on him. Very interesting.</p><p> </p><p>

I have no guesses on the new signings, could be anyone really.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

For the sake of playing along I’ll guess Lauren Easter and Wolf Hawkins</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Raven Robinson makes sense but she’s older than Jesus at this stage so there’s no way she’s wrestling</p>

How much money do you have? After years of ppvs on a sponsor friendly product I’d imagine you have quite a bit saved.

I don't have the game in front of me, but I have a good war chest building. It's dampened slightly by running the developmental company as well, but we make a good amount of money each month with PPV revenue and sponsorships (and most of my guys being on Pay Per Appearance deals)

Most of your guys are still on PPA?

Most is probably a bit of an overstatement but yes, quite a few are and intentionally so. As I hit certain money milestones, I renegotiate people into written deals that are going to be long term players as we push national, but also allows me flexibility at the bottom of the card. There aren't as many guys on PPA as I used to have as guys leave and developmental guys take their place.

Seems like a sound and realistic approach. The guys at the top of the card I would imagine are on written deals, those guys below upper mid, probably a mix.

Look at ole Robert build up that truly retirement nest egg for some day. But until that day, he is building a hell of a company.

LB: Hello and welcome to another exciting and thrill-packed episode of Saturday Night Slammasters. We are coming to you from the Friedman Building. We are fresh on the heels of Thanksgiving Thunder that saw Ross Henry defeat Bret Starr and the monster Torment successfully retain the North American Heavyweight Championship against Matty Faith. We are now on the road to Christmas Chaos! We already know one match that will happen at Christmas Chaos.

RDJ: That’s right we do, Lee. At Thanksgiving Thunder, The Cummos and The Heartbreak Express defeated the Devil’s Rejects in an eight man tag team match up. With the victory, we know at Christmas Chaos we will have a triple threat elimination tag team match for the North American Tag Team Championship.

LB: And what a match that should be. Tonight in our main event, Alina America and Zoe Ammis will go one on one. Leon Pena will be defending the Television Championship and so much more. But first, we are scheduled to hear from Father Grim and Torment, so let’s go to the ring.

The North American Heavyweight Champion Torment is led to the ring by Father Grim. The monster of a man stands in the center of the ring as his mouthpiece, the personification of evil, Father Grim lets the world know that the monster Torment cannot be stopped. Matty Faith learned that the hard way at Thanksgiving Thunder. Torment is the top of the mountain, he is no longer fallen but he has Risen. He has Ascended and he shall never fall again.

As Father Grim is talking, police sirens fill the arena and all of a sudden, former TCW, USPW, and SOTBPW star Rick Law comes marching out onto the stage!

bt7vcLV.jpg

Law says that he has been around the world fighting evil. Fighting for justice. He could no longer sit idly by and watch evil run unchecked in the CWL. He has signed an exclusive contract and his only requirement to sign that contract was a shot at Torment at Christmas Chaos!

AC: I’m tired. I’m sick and tired. I’m sick. I’m all sorts of things but what I am is fed up. I have not been the Ash Campbell I’m supposed to be. I’m not the man that I promised my father I’d be. I’ve not reached my destiny. I’ve failed. Time and time again. I’ve failed. I’ve come up short. I’ve been an embarrassment. But no longer! The time for Ash Campbell to take his rightful place is now. Primus Allen. Thanksgiving Thunder was a statement. I’m coming for you. I’m coming for the United States Championship. I will break your body if I have to. I will make you bleed if I have to. I will break my own body if I have to -- but I will be United States Champion.

Rick Law and Lauren Easter officially sign

As became clear with the first Saturday Night Slammasters of December, Rick Law and Lauren Easter have officially signed with CWL. Law had most recently worked for SOTBPW -- though his contract was not renewed and he spent two months as a free agent before he was picked up by the CWL. It is rumored that once CWL showed interest, TCW, SWF, and USPW all showed interest in the 41 year old, but ultimately the big man decided to go with CWL. Easter was the backbone of the USPW Women's Division after having spent the first decade of her career with NOTBPW, but she felt she had accomplished all she could there and wanted to join the most competitive women's roster in the major wrestling companies.

More Signings Expected

It is expected that CWL will be very competitive in the pursuit of several wrestlers that are entering free agency. All of these wrestlers are graduates of the Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling. It is said that Ricky Dale Johnson and other senior CWL management want to have as many graduates under contract as possible. Several years ago, SWF raided some of the graduates and now as their contracts are coming back up, expect CWL to be very active in attempting to sign them.

He sat at the bar. One hand held a highball glass of Kentucky’s finest contribution to the world -- bourbon, the other a cigar. Here in this hole in the ball bar in Amarillo was one of the last vestiges that a man could smoke and drink in peace. His Stetson rested crown-down on the bartop. There was the normal noise of the bar around him, but everyone ignored the big six foot six cowboy. This had been his stomping grounds once upon a time. Back when he was running wild over West Texas. Him and Skull and James and Sheik and the Professor. The whole crew. Now he was here to unwind after a day as an office guy.

Ricky took a puff from his cigar and chased that with a long swallow of bourbon. He sighed. When he was breaking in, he did not imagine that he would become this. He was supposed to run wild. Drinking booze, smoking cigars, loving women, kicking ass, driving fast and living hard. That was the life he had imagined. He was supposed to be the reincarnation of some great wild west figure. Hickok or Earp or even an outlaw like like Hardin or James or Cassidy. None of his plans were to be an office man. To travel around the country to scout talent and sign talent and manage budgets and all of the things that his job now entails. He is a man who sits on the board of a wrestling company now. Not just the top star like he was for the TWL or for TCW for a short time period when he was their number one face. Before Rocky exploded onto the scene and Ricky became the number two. Before Sammy made him the number three. Before age and the betrayal of his body relegated him to occasional status. He had a run as booker and commentator before that run was axed because he was not what BriCo would label a company guy.

He wasn’t a company guy. A least not a BriCo company guy. He had no loyalty to them, they had shown him no loyalty either. When he retired and his contract came up, they let him walk instead of having him stick around. They said that he was expendable, until he wasn’t and they needed him to help right the ship. So he righted the ship, stabilized their company and then he was out of a job again.

He’d say he was loyal to CWL, but that’s not entirely true. He was loyal to Robert and he loved his job but he can’t pretend like he wouldn’t leave if an opportunity presented itself that was too good to pass up. If a group of investors wanted him to head an organization? He’d take that opportunity, or at least listen to it. If the right company wanted him to become the head booker, he’d listen. He had told Robert that too. He would listen to other offers if it came to that time. He didn’t want to leave. He liked his job. Some days he really liked his job.

He took another drink from his bourbon and another puff on his scotch and looked down the bar. Many of the patrons knew who he was. A lot of them were the same crowd that would come here in 1994. Almost thirty years later. They had been young then, but so had he been. Some of them were grandparents now. He took another slow drink from his bourbon and took another puff on his cigar. He should be heading back to the hotel so he can get ready for his flight tomorrow. To some other city to watch some other indy show to see if any of the guys or girls on that show had a future in the business that the CWL could use to their benefit. He downed his scotch and took another puff.

He should be leaving. But that blonde at the end of the bar had been making eyes at him all night and empty hotel rooms were never fun to go home to. So he ordered another scotch and sent one to her. He was Ricky Dale Johnson after all. The last of a dying breed of men who cut their teeth in pro wrestling in West Texas, where the heat was oppressive, the hair big, and the liquor ever-flowing.

He should be going back to his hotel… But he rarely did what he should.

<p>Historian, I've been lurking on this thread for a very long time, but I don't think I've gotten the chance to ever post comments in here. I just wanted to say that this is my favorite dynasty on the forum. You make so many characters come to life that usually don't have a part in CVerse dynasties. Jebediah would be proud <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The Rick Law signing is exciting! How does his overness relate to the top guys in the company? It's cool that you can add a star from elsewhere to the main event scene of guys that you personally built up. He's a natural opponent for Torment as well. </p><p> </p><p>

Also, I love the latest RDJ update. It reminds me of an excerpt from Bret Hart's book. Good stuff. It would be interesting to see some narratives from people we haven't heard from before, someone like Pearl Flanders or Leon Pena. The dojo graduates are definitely intriguing to me. Keep up the good work!</p>

There’s a clear hierarchy of top stars, rising prospects, tag team specialists and gatekeepers that isn’t prevalent when you have guys like Mainstream Hernandez and El Leon as Lower Midcarders because you just completely overloaded signing every talented worker a la USPW by offering unrealistic deals.</p><p> </p><p>

This is an excellent point about Historian’s story here. It’s one of the things that I also enjoy

LB: Hello and welcome to another exciting and thrill-packed episode of Saturday Night Slammasters. We are coming to you from the Huntsville Fairgrounds in Huntsville, Alabama for what it is sure to be a great night of professional wrestling action. I'm Lee Bambino and I'm joined in the broadcast booth, as always, by Ricky Dale Johnson.

RDJ: It's great to be here once again, Lee. What a night we have for our fans. Last week, both Rick Law and Lauren Easter shocked the wrestling world by showing up in a CWL ring. Tonight, Lauren Easter gets her first taste of action as she teams up with former North American Women's Champion, Pearl Flanders to take on current champion Alicia Strong and her running mate Brooke Tyler.

Matty Faith is backstage. By himself. With the camera on him. He is aware of the camera presence. He knows the lense is watching him closing, watching his every movement but he does not move. He does not say anything. Not for a while. Instead, he just stares at the ground. After a long moment, he raises his head and lets his eyes stare into the camera.

MF: I let you all down. I let myself down. I made promises to you. I made promises to myself. I said that I was going to dethrone Torment. I was going to conquer the man at the top of the mountain. I was going to become North American Heavyweight Champion -- but I didn’t. I failed. I came up short. I lost. I can’t say that I was cheated or screwed or that something wasn’t fair. I lost. It’s been keeping me up at night. It’s been eating me alive. I’m supposed to be the guy. I can feel that in my bones. I’m supposed to be the person you all can count on. You’re supposed to have faith in me, but how can you when I don’t have faith in me? I need to find that part of me. That part of me that rises to the occasion. That part of me that slays giants. That part of me that conquers mountains and climbs to the summit. So I'm going to. I'm going to take inventory. I'm going to seek out that part of me so I can become North American Heavyweight Champion -- so I can be the Matty Faith that I am supposed to be.

The Devil's Rejects are backstage. It's just Keith and Johnny with February. February is holding both of the North American Tag Team Titles.

KH: Well hell boys. At Christmas Chaos, we're gonna be in for one hell of a fight, ain't we? We're gonna be in for a fight for the yard. A fight for this territory. For this piece of the pie that me and Johnny been carvin' out for ourselves for the past six years.

JA: That's right. For the past six years, we've ran things here. We've been the constant. We've been the backbone of the tag team division. It's our turf. Our home. We collect the checks. We make sure everyone plays by the rules. By our rules. We made the blueprint here.

KH: Five times we've been the tag team champions. That's more than anyone else. Five times we've proven that we're the toughest, we're the baddest, we're the meanest. We ain't going anywhere.

JA: And at Christmas Chaos, the Cummos and the Heartbreak Express will be there. Triple Threat Elimination Tag Team Match. That's big time. That's a chance to prove your mettle. To earn your stripes. Both of you are great teams. Both of been North American Tag Team Champions... But not five times.

KH: Nope, not five times. That's us. The men so bad the devil won't have us. The devil runs from us. Like you four should. 'Cause at Christmas Chaos, it's going to be chaotic. It's going to be wild. It's going to be violent.

February steps forward.

FM: And at the end of the night. My boys are still going to be North American Tag Team Champions.
