BlueStar
Was thinking the same thing. I'd be happier seeing where things go and if machinesxe wants to volunteer information. Blue is basically asking "Are you a power role?" I'd be a lot more open to it if the list was adjusted to what we deem common, and stuff like watcher, tracker, double vote, miller, and whatnot were added. Right now, that's a shortlist of the most important roles and one we rarely see in bigger games, really. Euhm...you 2 settle it! D doesn't want the info, Arrows wants more .... Astil
Certainly not a bad sentiment as such. But the larger the game, the harder it is to figure out what that should be and get enough people on the same page. /nod For example you have not voted, correct? In my experience (all of which is real life, more signals to pick up on), it's worth it on day 1 if there's a hunch that's valid. But my forum experience (which is just watching the previous game) says you can run out of town way too fast. So hard to say at this point what to do, if anything. Anyone voting for non-silly "stereotypical day 1" reasons? My vote is a serious vote.
BlueStar
Overall it was kind of a pointless exercise. One could argue that a watcher or tracker are investigative roles and thus fit that description. Or the fact that I'm town aligned fits as a "townie" role. Regardless of possible other abilities. Lol, I read Blues proposal and thought from a certain point of vote he was kind of doing what Machine was. Posting something ultimately pointless in the guise of contributing to the town discussion. Seems to me like you didn't bother to read the link and the suggestion. Noted. While you did seem to be looking at the roles I wasn't referring to. cappyboy
/nod For example you have not voted, correct? Correct. I haven't seen anything that makes me comfortable voting at the moment. Me voting for Crychon this early on feels petty after the last game. And I'm kind of nervous about the Machine play after what happened with Eayragt last time out. I see the value in doing something Day 1 but I always like to know why I'm casting a vote before I do it.
Antithesis
Yes i got a SIN vibe from the write up as well. Since I modded that game I'd take that as a compliment but also will start worrying for my life. lol I always loved being an independent. Some of my best games and victories were from getting to fly solo, like in Anti's original SIN game and in Game of Thrones. I remember the SIN game. For some reason I think I was scum in that one. It's hard to remember the details. I think probably dealing with a 5 man scum group and an SK. Maybe an Indy survivor thrown in there for good measure. The 1:3 ratio is a good guideline but it's not textbook. 5:1:1 feels right for non-town roles in a game this size. As to that, 2 things. In SIN (ZOMG here we go again) remember we made it a point to show every scum kill in the beginning write up. If there is more than one scum killer or potential killer it isnt shown here. BUT this is Outlaw and hes the same guy who attacked me for complaining about HALF THE PLAYER BASE IN LAKESIDE BEING NON TOWN So Outlaw played SIN, (think it might have been his last mafia game here I dont know for sure) he and/or DJ might have borrowed a lil narrative flourish but he's still the same guy who thinks HALF THE PLAYERBASE BEING NON TOWN is not an issue

Jaded
Skimmed through the players list, skimmed through 10 pages ... got to be honest here, he might not have read his role yet (I don't think I saw him post <> Wrestling Century for example). Sorry, busy times here and the game starting took me a little by surprise. (I did post once a few hours ago, though.) I should be properly present now though. Rayelek
Been doing some math & I think with only scum & no other killer, then we're at 7 scum. If there's an SK, then 1 SK, 5 scum. Either way, that gives us worst case scenario (meaning we lynch a townie every day), 6 days to win, which is pretty reasonable.

Leion
This might not sit well with some but, I see pushing a lynch on someone day 1 might not just be beneficial for us long term. By trying to get information out of someone day 1, the scum group might be the group that can get the most gain out of it. Especially if they could identify power roles or the biggest threats. It just seems by setting that tone, we could lead the town to fail. Since we still don't have a concrete number how many of them are.
