SirMichaelJordan
Loved today's entry, all we need now is the "will you put over worker X" question. Love it. And I hope we have the "I'll go into a program with this guy to get him over" kind of thing too Or even have workers request to work with certain people (TEW own way of calling out people like WMMA)
Kid Socrates
Indeed. And I'd like to see some of the old pre-Grey Dog TEW talk stuff like "Who would you wish to work with given the chance?" Despite a comparatively limited talk system, things like that made TEW04 feel really alive and gave me a lot of ideas when I was stuck back in the day. I'll second this. I loved putting together my writer's team and then laughing at how ridiculous they all were, since the responses drew from their personalities and business knowledge. There's a bit of that in the recent games -- I do enjoy getting wildly different thoughts from Kevin Nash and Booker T on this new Fergal Devitt kid in a WCW 2002 save -- but I want more of that personality. Too Sweet Spartan
Or even have workers request to work with certain people (TEW own way of calling out people like WMMA) You could also theoretically lump in positive and negative meddling here, trying to broker new relationships between workers. Rawisericho
I love the "Talk to Worker" entry. I'm a big fan of the 80s or 90s RW mods and this will make those so much more enjoyable. For example: It's always been difficult dealing with Shawn Michaels in a 1990s mods and simulating his relationship to Vince McMahon. Shawn was a dick to everyone but he and Vince had mutual respect that's hard to have in the game as is (if you're playing as a User Character). Now, you could sit Shawn down and talk to him of the pill issue. You can maybe form more of a relationship outside of the punishment system. tyrone
Mod Question Sorry if this question has been asked and answered already. I, like a lot of us play real world mods when they are released. The only drawback is that we have to wait weeks to month(s) for mod makers to have them ready. Will certain mod makers have early access to TEW2020 or maybe just an editor so that it's playable around the time of the game release? Wolverinex23
I like the talk to the worker ability. So this is a new way to get a working/personal relationship with a character?

There should be more we can do when their answer is outright "No." Very rarely in real life does a fighter ever refuses to comeback. Mostly for money, let's face it, but there are sometimes other reasons and there should be several incentives available to at least try and persuade them. And maybe if we failed at some point in time, maybe later we could eventually convince them. And convince them again after their next retirement. (Depending on their personalities and goals.) It is very often that we see fighters "overstaying their welcome" (hello Dan Severn, still fighting at sixty years old, or Ken Shamrock at 54...and so on.) and even those who retired before they were dragging themselves to the cage, like the two cases mentioned before, end up returning. (Liddell as an example out of the top of my head.) Then there are others who have returned multiple times, like Tito Ortiz. I think he's on his 3rd comeback now? <p> </p><p> So fighters could sometimes be the ones approaching us for a return. Either for a great fight they have in mind, one last run, or "monsters in the basement" like Rocky. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Or for one last huge payday, or just to milk it as long as they physically can and make more money, which is always a good motivator. </p><p> </p><p> All of this would obviously depend on their goals, personalities and of course, not everyone would be willing to drag themselves forever, some wouldn't even come back. But let's face it, most probably should overstay their welcome, (sometimes returning even on their own initiative) especially if a company with deep enough pockets for their needs comes calling.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This is a suggestion I did in the WMMA 5 Forums and i hope it is taken into account here. No one ever really retires from wrestling, so it works the same way as MMA or even worse. So I hope we are able to do more than just asking the question and getting a no. Not just for retirement, but for every other thing. There is always a chance to get a yes, always. There is always a price. Either money or other perks, but an owner pretty much always gets his yes. The cost would obviously depend of the situation. And there could be stakes for it. If badly treated, a worker will be less likely to hear you in the future. If for example you do a promise in these negotiations and fail to live up to it. </p><p> </p><p> If it goes well, the worker would be more receptive in the future, etc and so on. Because if it is just asking something, getting a no and end of story, it becomes frustrating and unrealistic. It bothers me in WMMA when I can't get a 49 year old Liddell to return, just to give an example and there is nothing I can do. This would both add replay value and better simulate reality where sometimes hell freezes over and Bret Hart returns to the WWE. That there is a mighty example of the never say never in action.</p><p> </p><p> Other than that, great feature today. Love the potential.</p>

Jomosensual
Love the talk to feature. One of my biggest pet peaves was when I badly wanted to sign someone who couldn't work in my region because I was only a national promotion, even though I was bigger than the company they worked for. Also known as my Swoop McCarthy issue.
lavelleuk
Today's feature is the kind of HUGE game changer I was hoping for. Just from this one announcement 2016 already seems dated lol. Anything that makes the workers more than just numbers and grades and feel like actual people is fantastic!

Zeel1
Feature's amazing; it'd be a great way to incorporate other suggestions such as seeing whether or not they'd be willing to put another worker over, or just to ask their opinion on them to kinda prompt the usual e-mails you get of that nature. Vladamire Dracos
One thing I'd like to see with this Talk To Wrestler feature is the option to start a game with it limited by the size of your promotion and existing relationship, so if you're playing a tiny promotion in the Northwest and your Avatar has a Strong Friendship with Swoop McCarthy, you're limited to speaking with guys from the Northwest and Swoop. Perhaps relationships can effect influence as well?

Based on my experience here people generally don't react well to "limitations" in the engine, when there's no fully logical reason. It's a sandbox game (if they want to), and the more you can't do, the less fun these people have. You can limit the amount of matches per card to 20, and that would make sense, yet there will be people "reinventing" the trade who will be upset at this measure. And why would Adam implement it in the first place? Only "abuse" of certain features must be taken into account. He can - for instance - limit one conversation each week or month and that'd make sense, but only if the options result in almost exclusively positive outcomes.</p><p> </p><p> 2. You're always a booker by definition and should be able to talk with any worker in your company, as that is basically part of your job (should you choose to). People looking for a job will always be considering what you have to say as it might result in employment for them.</p><p> </p><p> That being said, in WMMA you had the "power" to tell people to move from one continent to another, just to say "meh" seconds later and ignore them. It doesn't need to be "dance, puppet! Dance!" <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
cultstatus
It would be pretty awesome if you could have a talk contract option with the Talk To A Wrestler feature and if that guy is under contract somewhere already, you run the risk of getting hit with tampering chargers. John Waylon
Loved today's entry, all we need now is the "will you put over worker X" question. Love it. And I hope we have the "I'll go into a program with this guy to get him over" kind of thing too I love this idea. I hope this feature gets built on even more to incorporate things like this into it. Really dig deep into interaction and selling guys on ideas for matches/feuds. I love the "Talk to Worker" entry. I'm a big fan of the 80s or 90s RW mods and this will make those so much more enjoyable. For example: It's always been difficult dealing with Shawn Michaels in a 1990s mods and simulating his relationship to Vince McMahon. Now, you could sit Shawn down and talk to him of the pill issue. You can maybe form more of a relationship outside of the punishment system. Addingto my first comment above I hope this system gets adequate depth to deal with those kinds of issues. And I hope it offers a dynamic answer system. As it stands now we already have the ability to try and change behaviors and attitudes through discipline, but Shawn’s personality (rightly so) is that no action you take against him is effective at making any kind of change. It doesn’t matter how you discipline him for his habits, he still acts a dick about it based off of his personality. Hopefully there are ways to help make changes rather than just a yes/no system based on personality and influence.
KingofOldSchool
<p>Hopefully, the Talk to Wrestler feature will allow us to ask about face/heel turns and potential feuds/tag partners. If someone is a face who prefers being heel, they would be more likely to agree to it. However, if someone is a face and is making good money as a face, they might be less likely to turn heel. They could also be more willing to turn if their momentum is in the toilet.</p><p> </p><p> There could be an option where you're talking to a worker and ask them about another worker in the company. You can ask them what they think about them as a potential opponent or partner. </p><p> </p><p> Also, there should be the ability for the worker to talk to us. Since we are booking and/or the owner, realistically you would have workers wanting to talk to us from time to time. That's where specific requests can be made like raises, turns, feuds, etc can be made. If a worker comes to you to request something and you turn them down, that can cause the normal lowering of their morale.</p><p> </p><p> For example, you're Vince McMahon running the WWE and Dean Ambrose comes and asks to feud with Elias, but you book him to feud with Apollo Crews instead, his morale would likely lower. Depending on his personality traits, he might phone it in against Apollo due to his lack of desire to be in the particular feud.</p>
SirMichaelJordan
Reading the entry today on the updates to house shows made me so pumped that I don’t even need coffee this morning! Been waiting house shows to act more realisticly and now we can even focus on a area to tour.
shawn michaels
I like today's feature but i was also hoping that among the improvements for House Shows we would have the ability to look for more things between workers, test more stuff with workers, even live promos, etc.
