combolock
Is there usually early bird specials? Steam usually does that for a lot of their games where they take 10-20% off brand new games in the first week of release. Of course publishers have the choice, but I noticed a lot of games follow that model.
franticloser
There never has before, it is 34.95 for a game you'll be playing for at least four years. They have sales through out the year though.
Derek B
The price hasn't been confirmed yet, and probably won't be until the official announcement for release date is made at the end of the month. GDS has never offered an early bird sale of any kind (to my knowledge), and I wouldn't expect to see any reductions on the full price of TEW2020 in the year 2020 since it wouldn't make sense to reduce the price of a new game and potentially upset all the people who bought it early. WCGreyghost
I've been ready to send my money since TEW2020 was announced. Every version of this game has been a major leap forward, and this one will be no different. Just take my money already! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
Morti
With international currency bombing further and further it's less and less likely I will have money to buy this game at launch every day that goes by, and that really bums me out... this corona crisis is screwing up even the one thing I was looking forward to in this time. The depression is kicking in.

TeemuFoundation
To be fair, I had things I was looking forward to, as well, and goals I was looking to pursue, but covid-19 turned things upside down for a lot of us.

Yeah, if baffles me how people keep buying AAA titles after they sometimes get slashed for 50% in price after a mere 2 months. WWE2k20 might be an exception as that bombed pretty hard, but it was 50% off after 1 month. GDS at least has the sense that early sales piss people off more than it pleases new customers (for the record: they aren't angry because others get it for less, just that they missed out on it). You see the occasional light sale, but it's at least a year after release. Adam seems to value consistency so I expect it to be the same as always at 35$. With international currency bombing further and further it's less and less likely I will have money to buy this game at launch every day that goes by, and that really bums me out... this corona crisis is screwing up even the one thing I was looking forward to in this time. The depression is kicking in. The krone rate sucks atm (the game kinda got 33% more expensive this month for you), but it should still be doable given the average income in Norway, no? Given how expensive things are there, this game should be easy to afford. Maybe by next month it will go back to its original rate.
MainOffender
I'm not sure if this is something GDS is equipped to do, but maybe they should enable prepayment for TEW20. Judging by some of the comments in this thread, the international player base is really hurting because of the exchange rates and I wouldn't expect that to get any better for months. nerodragomir1
I feel bad for the people that are out of work or having money issues due to this cruddy virus. I totally feel for the people that mite be unable to purchase the game on release day. I just hope this issue can get resolved & we move on to better & brighter days. I don't think the game should be discounted in any though. I'm pretty sure TEW games never release with a discount. As much work as Adam & crew put in, I wouldn't think it's fair. Plus the game is usually like almost half the price of a normal game release. So they already sell the game at a great price.

That's not actually a bad idea. I don't know how the Elicence works. But I think that would be good. I would have pre-purchased this 10 months ago! Would have also been nice for Adam to see the money rolling in while he develops the game.

Judging by opinions both here and on discord, this would be a best case scenario to everyone. Most international rates will not get better anytime soon. As much as I am always glad to buy gds games on release day, I will also be keeping an eye on the rates and set my own limit to decide if i buy or not come April. Priorities. It's not as engaging of course but it's still very fun, and may allow you to be booking at a time in the game you have never reached before. I'm currently in August 2022 with SWF in the CVerse and I'm aiming to finish Supreme Challenge 50 (2030) before the TEW2020 comes out through majority autobooking.</p>
