He's pretty much had to be. He wasn't born with tremendous strength or uncanny agility or a genius level intellect. He wasn't born to a famous family or genetically engineered in a lab or descended from the Gods. Every advantage he's gained is from grit and determination. Every success he's earned with hard work. Never a workout skipped. Never a meal cheated. This is a man who at 23 years old, already CGC Tag Team Champion, willingly chose to enter the hellish House of Stone training camp just to try to improve. </p><p> </p><p> Although best known as one half of The Specialists, 2016 saw Bobby take Ozzie Golden under his wing to form a tag team that many considered to be even better; The Virtuosos. Bobby's drive and determination gave the young pretty boy focus, and the pair took Canadian Golden Combat by storm, holding the tag titles for almost two whole years, as well as finally putting Bobby in true contention for the one thing that has almost been just beyond his grasp... The CGC World Title. </p><p> </p><p> Tonight he's one step closer. Tonight he gets his shot at Blockbuster. And he's been working harder than ever.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="HFdiLDs.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HFdiLDs.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>DIRTY DICE ELDERBERRY VS IAN IDENTITY</strong> w/ Jenny Playmate</p><p> <img alt="vmiWLNy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vmiWLNy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="gPKfhnA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gPKfhnA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="gIVnf4J.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gIVnf4J.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="9SndfB4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/9SndfB4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="An6aWob.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/An6aWob.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <em><strong>Davis Ditterich</strong></em><em> "Jenny Playmate dreams of managing someone to a CGC World Title reign, and Dirty Dice has offered himself up as an 'better' option than her current clients."</em></p><p> </p><p> Belching and farting, Elderberry shoves Ian's face into various nooks and crannies around his digusting body, until Jenny rallies the crowd behind her client. I don't know if it's the Bobby Thomas of it all, but the episode read a bit bland to me. If I'm getting somewhere fun and interesting, I'm not sure I'm there yet. Especially with babyfaces. Purely in terms of writing, I'm enjoying Buster, Diablo, Dice & the DaLays far more than Bobby, Ryan and Ian. </p><p> </p><p> I was pleased with how Blockbuster handled himself. His promo was solid, and despite some stamina issues his main event did the job. Also pleased with Express Delivery, leading young Robin through an awkward heel-on-heel affair to a much better rating than expected. Still, a slightly weaker show than last time, with Dice vs Ian being the worst match of 2019 so far. </p><p> </p><p> Backstage, a fight may have ended someone's push before it even begins. </p><p> </p><p> Made the mistake of browsing the Re-Render thread yesterday, which has made me regret some picture choices and created a HUGE shopping list of talent I want to pick up.</p><p> </p><p> Written contracts have gone out to my house show team, and I expect that income will start coming in February. The lineup will be revealed later on, as it's a bit spoiler-y. I think I may play with the custom merchandise feature after the next show. I don't have much experience with it, but it could be a fun tool to look at in a slow diary game like this. Any advice appreciated. </p><p> </p><p> A podcast has recently reminded me of the gloriousness of old school wrestling promos. You know, when a guy is given 1-3 minutes to talk to a camera and get himself over. Much like Blockbuster and Bobby did on this show, but for folks lower down on the card, outside of main event storyline. Going to start doing it. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hashasheen" data-cite="Hashasheen" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46917" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>But DaLay Country was RIGHT THERE.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> DeColt Country is more of a name for the fans, like Jericho-holics or WWE Universe. You know, performance wise. It's rare to have a situation where you give a guy a chance and he screws it up, or goes above and beyond, as it's 90% pop. </p><p> </p><p> I almost never keep Diablo in my private games, as he's too expensive for ACPW, and too small for CGC, but this gimmick may just have legs. Self
I didn't notice at first but your Tag Team division is an absolute mess even by TEW2016 Standards I'm guessing, that the Face Tag Teams are: The Gear Heads (Greaser [Grease Hogg] & Torque [Mimic]) and PinPoint (Ian Identity & Mario DaSilva) While, the Heel Tag Teams are: DaLay & Son (Dan Dalay & Robin Dalay) and Express Delivery (Phillipe LaGrenier & Hugh Ancrie) CGC certainly do lack experienced, established teams right now. The AI hasn't really put much effort into building any since The Virtuosos. I think AI Alex DeColt has a Vince McMahon mindset of if he didn't create it, it doesn't count. ACPW have some lovely tag teams, but he's just grabbed the guys he liked and looked for new combos. When I played this data in a private game, only one of these four teams lasted 3 months, but writing their matches has me excited for all of them. Greaser never quite made it as a singles star, so has returned to his tag roots in a similar, but different team. Torque is the first time I've cared even a little about Mimic. Express Delivery have a colorful gimmick, incredible workrate (Ancrie) and a Power House project (LaGrenier). Dan DaLay is a veteran of two classic CGC combinations with an invested interest in guiding his partner. PinPoint are actually the most experienced in working together, but I consider all four of them as solid teams. I love tag team wrestling. If I was promoting real world shows teams would main event every time. So there will definitely be more teams forming, arriving, and evolving soon. Temes1066
CGC certainly do lack experienced, established teams right now. Yeah, it is kinda of disturbing how many roster members, you have that where one half of a tag team, at one point or another: Zeus Maximillion, Bobby Thomas, Shane Nelson, Dermott Ayres, Malik Cash, Nathan Black & Chris Flynn. (Malik Cash and Nathan Black are especially disturbing as they are very much the lesser half of their respective teams)

John Lions
Texas Pete vs Jack DeColt An aging vet comes in at the behest of Adrian Garcia to lose to DeColt. Robin DaLay vs Torque Robin gets his first taste of solo action, but I don't think he is able to keep up with the tag champ. CGC Canadian Title: Shane Nelson vs Skip Beau © Going with the shock title change? I feel like Skip has been pretty in the background lately, and could give your top faces something to do. Express Delivery (LaGrenier & Ancrie) vs PinPoint (Identity & DaSilva) Express Delivery are a good team, but you have had story legs under Identity and DaSilva so I can see them getting the win here. Robin DaLay vs Torque I like Robin more than most but I'll give it to the more experienced talent CGC Canadian Title: Shane Nelson vs Skip Beau © By some kind of shenanigans Express Delivery (LaGrenier & Ancrie) vs PinPoint (Identity & DaSilva) Based purely on the fact that I like Ian Identity better than anybody else in the match Agree on the analysis about CGC's performance rates. Self
I'd love an option to see a smark/Meltzer rating for each segment. So I could see more clearly which matches were saved by the performers being popular, and which guys got the crowd into it through sheer skill. I'm always tempted with CGC to fiddle the product so performance is slightly more important. 'Davis Ditterich "Diablo Deville is an ancient demon prince once summoned to destroy Jack DeColt. Jack managed to bind his spirit to the CGC World Title, but now that belt is in the hands of Blockbuster, who has no qualms about using the demon to destroy his enemies."' A main reason I love your diaries is the announcer can state that just as a matter of fact, almost throwaway line and yet it completely fits in! I honestly don't know how I get away with it. I like to think it's because I treat the wackier elements earnestly, ala Marvel movies, and not with a wink and a nudge and a "isn't it silly we're doing this", ala modern wrestling. Or maybe it's because I don't have made up 'real' backstage segments to break the fourth (fifth?) wall. Or maybe writing just makes it easier to accept than if this was an actual show. How was Lucha Underground received? I loved the movie-esque supernatural elements there. (Malik Cash and Nathan Black are especially disturbing as they are very much the lesser half of their respective teams) I'm going to have to look back at the stats on that one. Malik has always been more successful than Becker in my games, but that might have been solely down to good chemistry at the right times. Self
Sunday, Week 4, January 2019 Late Evening on Maple Leaf Sports Hamilton, Ontario 4,000 in attendance Davis Ditterich "There's a bounty on Jack DeColt's head! Adrian Garcia is willing to do anything to get out of fighting at WrestleFestival, including offering $50,000 to the person who can injure The Wild Man. Tonight, Texas Pete will take up the challenge." Adrian Garcia "You asked for this, Jack! You wanted to fight me??? Well this is it. You're not going to make it to WrestleFestival!" IN RING SHANE NELSON I've never dreamt of being CGC World Champion. No, I arrived here with one goal and one goal only. To stand side by side wth my best friend and become the greatest tag team this country had ever seen. We did that, me and Lee. Three times over we did that and I've never dreamt for anything more... but Lee did. It breaks my heart that we'll never see the Thrill Seeker with the CGC World Title around his waist. That he was taken from us too soon. That he died before acheiving all of his dreams. Next week I get a chance at Blockbuster. It's not my dream, but maybe in honour of my friend I can- Blockbuster's heavy metal music suddenly starts blarring from the in-ring speaker system. It's deafening. The first dozen rows of fans cover their ears. Children burst into tears. Instead of the CGC World Champion, SKIP BEAU appears in the entranceway, holding a remote control. With a press of a button, the carcophony stops. SKIP BEAU Sorry. Didn't catch a word of that. What were you saying? I was too busy trying out this awesome new gizmo Blockbuster had the CGC boffins whip up. With a push of this button I can play the Champ's music anytime I want. Even when he's not here. What a great idea. One of the perks about being CGC World Champion. Not that you'd know anything about that. SHANE NELSON I will next week. I'm going to dethrone Blockbuster and dismantle all of this ridiculous equip- Skip hits the button, cutting off Shane's words with an ultra-loud blast of heavy metal. SKIP BEAU Oops. My finger slipped. SHANE NELSON You disrespectfully little- Skip hits the button, cutting off Shane again. SKIP BEAU I liked Thrill Seeker. I respected Thrill Seeker. He was a premier athlete who know how to play the system to his advantage. You're the goody two-shoes who sucked up to him and pretended to be his friend just so you could ride his coat-tails. If there's one thing I hate, it's a suck-up. So on behalf of my best friend, the awesome and incredible Blockbuster, I'm going to kick your ass. CGC CANADIAN TITLE MATCH SHANE NELSON VS SKIP BEAU © Davis Ditterich "Skip Beau will do anything to help his best friend Blockbuster, including put his title on the line to get a chance to soften up Nelson." Referee Jez MacArthur confiscates Skip's hidden roll of quarters and Shane bounces off the ropes at impossible angles, attacking from directions the champion didn't even know existed. Skip pleads for mercy, and Shane makes the mistake of giving it to him. Eye Poke! Beau unleashes repeateded backbreakers, taking every shortcut he can to keep the advantage. Shane scores a wicked dropkick and Beau begs for mercy... but Shane doesn't fall for it twice. Dropkicks! Monkey Flips! Clash of Styles (Inverted Headlock Backbreaker)! Shane climbs up top and- Skip rolls out of the ring, fleeing up the aisle with the CGC Canadian Title. Jez MacArther counts him out. SHANE NELSON WINS (14:29) Adrian Garcia "Skip weasels out with his title once again, but I don't think he did the damage he wanted. Next week, Shane Nelson gets his chance at the CGC World Title!"[/b] TEXAS PETE I'm a bad man, Jack. You know what folks do when they see a bad man? They run. Everybody I ever met ran from me, Jack. Enemiesh. Friends. Every woman I've taken into my bed. Why? Because I'm a bad man. So what does that make you, Jack? People run from you all the time. Your brothers left. Your wife left. Every greenhorn you've taken under your wing has turned on you. You act like you're the Sheriff, but you're an Outlaw, Jack. Just like me! You're poishon. Just like me! You're a bad man. No better than me. Now here you are, pickin' on a defenseless commentator. You got a bounty on your head, and rightly so. I aim to collect. ROBIN DALAY VS TORQUE Davis Ditterich "Robin has had success fighting at his father's side, but how will he fare in his first singles match against one half of the Tag Team Champons?" Trying to follow in his father's footsteps, Robin bullies the bite-sized biker around the ring with clubbing blows and bear hugs, but hasn't grasped the subtleties of eye-gouging. Referee Jonathon Taylor tells him off, allowing Torque to mimic his partner's toolbox of hammers, wrenches and drills. Panicking, Robin clumsily tries the DaLay Down (Belly-to-belly Piledriver) but Torque slips free. A wild Backfist is ducked! Pedal To The Metal (Curb Stomp)! 1... 2... 3! TORQUE WINS (5:35) Adrian Garcia "Dan DaLay has since sights set on the CGC Tag Team Titles... but maybe that's asking too much of young Robin just yet." For one night only, weapons are legal... but which one will you get? 3 Weeks Away PHILLIPE LAGRENIER Ze Robin emerged from ze nest and he is, how you say, not so tough without ze Papa, no? Perhaps eet should be ze Express Delivery taking on ze Gear-Heads at 'Luck of Ze Draw'. HUGH ANCRIE "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. We've had some days of rain and gloom lately but we WILL complete our rounds. We WILL be CGC tag team champions, and we will go swiftly through anyone, including our old rivals Pinpoint, to do it. BACKSTAGE ROBIN DALAY Sorry, Pa. I let you down. DAN DALAY Nonsense, boy. You're learnin'. Ain't no shame in losing a couple of times when you're learning. What's important is how you bounce back. Now what do I always say you should do after you lose? ROBIN DALAY Break someone's stuff? DAN DALAY That's my boy. Come with me. JENNY PLAYMATE Dice Elderberry. You want to make my dreams come true, but you don't know the first thing about me. I'm not here to be some disgusting slob's arm candy. I want to mould the next generation of CGC World Champions. Maybe Mario and Ian aren't ready for that just yet, but they were Tag Team Champions before, and they can do it again. They're great. We're great. Penfold diet's going great. It's... It's great. Just... Great. Phillipe LaGrenier & Hugh Ancrie EXPRESS DELIVERY PINPOINT Ian Identity & Mario DaSilva Davis Ditterich "The Gear-Heads need challengers for 'Luck of the Draw', and after Robin DaLay's loss the opportunity is there for one of these teams." Mario twists LaGrenier's limbs into beautifully horrifying contortions, but takes too long admiring his latest masterpiece and gets posted and covered with stamps. Express Delivery deliver DaSilva to suplex city, until Jenny Playmate rallies the crowd. Ian gets the tag! Intense Clotheslines! Incredible Dropkick! Inverted Suplex! He and Mario try a big finish, but whatever they were attempting backfires and Ian gets caught in LaGrenier's Small Package! 1... 2... 3! EXPRESS DELIVERY WIN (10:03) As Express Delivery pat themselves on the back, Jenny Playmate walks away from her clients in frustration. PARKING LOT There's a huge commotion in the parking lot. Two motorcycles, one a smaller replica of the other, are on fire. Firemen work hard to put out the fire before it spreads. TORQUE is having to be held back by bystanders, while GREASER approaches ALEX DECOLT. GREASER No no no no NO! Our bikes! What the hell??? Alex! This was those DaLays and you know it. You gotta give them to us, Alex. They destroyed our bikes and now I'm gonna destroy them!!! ALEX DECOLT Slow down. You don't even know it was them. This could all be an accident. I- A fireman hands Alex a note, left at the scene of the crime. ALEX DECOLT "Deer Dirty Whit Chumps. It woz us. Robin DaLay. P.S. Dan's son" Okay fine, it was them. Why is it every time there's a problem in my life Dan DaLay is involved...? Want to see Canadian Golden Combat live and in your town? Well you're in luck, as the stars of CGC are hitting the road in 2019 for an epic Canadian tour. Monday, Week 1, February - Montebello, Quebec Friday, Week 1, February - Spruce Grove, Alberta Monday, Week 2, February - Okotoks, Alberta Featuring Jack DeColt, Blockbuster, Bobby Thomas, Express Delivery, Ian Identity and more... TEXAS PETE VS JACK DECOLT Davis Ditterich "Adrian Garcia has put a bounty on Jack's head, and Texas Pete has pushed to the front of the line to collect." Jack tries to control the Texan with old-school amateur techniques, but is overpowered and roughed up with big haymakers and size 14 cowboy boots. Less interested in finishing the match than he is trying to cause permanent injury, Pete goes for the eyes, ears, fingers, teeth, anything he can break, ignoring the referee's warnings. Jack's rage builds and builds until he goes berserk with right hands and shoulder tackles! Wild Ride (Whiplash Slam)! 1... 2... Pete kicks out, fleeing to the corner, where Jack Punches! Him! In! The- Pete goes for the eyes again, before yanking Jack ribs first onto the top rope. He's hurt. Smelling blood in the water, Pete targets the ribs. Whips. Haymakers. Boots. He takes it outside and rams Jack repeatedly into the steps. Jez MacArthur threatens disqualification, but Pete doesn't care. He wants the bounty. He grabs the ringbell and prepares to break some bones. Jack goes for the eyes. The Texan's as surprised as he is blind. The Wild Man gives Pete as taste of his own medicine, going berserk on the ribs until Pete flees up the ramp, rethinking this whole bounty business. Jack doesn't let him off the hook, dragging him back to the ring and calling for DeColt Legacy! Iron Claw! DeColt Thrust! Running Bulldog! Tower Collapse Suplex! High Fly Elbow! End of Days! Texas Pete taps! JACK DECOLT WINS (17:37) Jack DeColt celebrates, clutching his ribs but staring a terrified Adrian Garcia right in the eyes. Adrian Garcia "I... I... You've won this round, DeColt, but there are plenty of people willing to take my money! Someone's going to take you out! You're not going to make it to WrestleFestival! I'll make sure of it!" C TEXAS PETE VS JACK DECOLT . . . B Final Rating . . . C 0.87 rating on Maple Leaf Sports (up from 0.85 last week) The two best matches, yet my worst overall show thus far. This one suffered from the absence of a strong promo/angle, and all of the Non-Jack DeColt storylines dropping below acceptable levels. I can't blame Robin vs Torque or Skip/Shane's promo, but having both at once hurt us. On the other hand, that tag match... I thought it was going to be really good, and clearly Alex thought likewise because he booked a series between them in October. So I got hit by reptitive booking AND a zero chemistry note AND an off night for Ian Identity, who has beat his own record for worst televised match in CGC 2019. At least Express Delivery looked okay. Ancrie's a workhorse and LaGrenier has nice muscles. ... and then I get the January financial report, with a loss of $165k. Which was alarming until I remembered there wasn't a PPV this month. So not ideal, but understandable. My financial goals aren't as strict as private games, so we have time to increase attendance and TV revenue, plus house shows begin this month (where you can see Blockbuster vs Bobby Thomas, Jack DeColt vs Robin DaLay, plus 2 other matches). There won't be a big firing spree yet, despite the half dozen names on the chopping block. Speaking of. Jack DeColt could be dead and he's not jobbing to Pete. Is Pete still a drunkard and junkie? Yep! I love the idea of Texas Pete in CGC. Great size. Gimmicked. Can talk a bit. Then he shows up drunk, slurs through his promo, and has to be carried to... admittedly a heck of a match by the amazing Jack DeColt, but... Dang Pete. My original idea for Jack was a long feud with this guy, but you just can't trust him to stay sober or even turn up consistently at this point. Plus I could only ever really come up with one segment for it. Tonight's promo. Which he botched. Hashasheen
Whenever I play TEW, there are two possums fighting in my brain. One that wants to rip everything apart. One that wants to keep the promotion's identity in fact. So I have a question to sort of gauge who is essential and who is expendable. Who is CGC? For me, I consider the heart and soul of Canadian Golden Combat to be the DeColts and their fading and rising rivals, along with one or two babyface allies. So for me, while I know this doesn't quite accurately conform to your current roster, these are the people I make sure to keep long term and try to push or develop when starting in 2016. Adrian Garcia, Jenny PlaymateAlex DeColt, Jack DeColt and Ricky DeColt Blockbuster, Dan DaLay, Gargantuan and Prometheus Christian Price, Chuck Dorrance, Donte Dunn, Drake Young, Ian Identity and Skip Beau Everyone else is expendable, as far as I'm concerned. I also try and make sure I bring back old alumni or family relations like Robin DaLay, George Wolf, Zoey Ammis, Philippe LaGrenier, Penfold Perdition and Zoey Ammis. DAVEFAN95
Always thought Texas Pete could have been something somewhere but with his issues, I can see why nobody would take a chance on him. No Illegally Blonde (Malik Cash & Jamie Atherton) vs Pinpoint (Identity & DaSilva) I'm partial to a little Jamie Atherton but I feel Identity and DaSilva are more central to your plans I think in your past iterations of your CGC diaries, I would have said the DeColts. However, I think with they way you've presented CGC throughout your projects, magical potions, "Eddie Chandler is not gay" and the tropes of your characters, I feel that is more CGC than any one person or family. Sure, the DeColts are important, but Alex is done, Jack is probably on a reduced schedule already and Ricky is gone. If you ask me the way you have presented CGC is is what CGC is and contuining with that same idea is the answer to your question in my opinion

Rayelek
<p><strong>Who is CGC?</strong></p><p> </p><p> Short answer: Dan DaLay, The DeColts, Adrian Garcia, Gargantuan</p><p> </p><p> Longer answer: It all pretty much starts with the DeColts. CGC is, or was, a story about Steve, Alex, Ricky and Jack, not in that order for various reasons. For years, some combination of those 4 has been standing up to evildoers of various sizes, a few for much longer. Since there was Alex, there has been The Giant Among Giants, Dan Dalay. A pretty decent but not amazing big man who would have been a midcard monster in the "big leagues" but flourished opposite the DeColts. Especially when he joins The Elite, as led by Adrian Garcia, who has transitioned from enemy to asset at the commentary table. And as Dalay stopped being the biggest threat to the Golden Family, a new threat emerges, bigger than Dalay, stronger than Jack (maybe), smarter than Alex (probably not?), faster than Ricky (I should stop now, huh?), the mighty Gargantuan. He is the CGC enemy for the next age, the monster to conquer, the problem to solve. If the game had a new generation of DeColts besides Ian Identity, I would say DeColt vs Gargantuan would be the DeColt vs Dalay of the next generation. Any of the side roles (alternate threats, DeColt allies, tag teams and lower card guys) have a lot more flexibility in who fills those roles.</p><p> </p><p> Metaphor Answer: if CGC is the comic book world, then lets use the Marvel Cinematic Universe (at least up til Endgame).</p><p> </p><p> The DeColts are the Avengers, and not just that, they're the ones who get solo movies and anchor the franchise, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America.</p><p> </p><p> Dan Dalay is Hydra, hes always there and sometimes hes a big deal and hes almost always trouble for minor characters.</p><p> </p><p> Adrian Garcia is Loki. Hes tricky, he may pretend to be on your side but he will get what he wants in the end. And he doesn't want to do anything for himself.</p><p> </p><p> Gargantuan is Thanos. Hes the biggest of the big bads. When it all comes down to it, you may have stopped him, but you are so much worse for wear. And then he travels through time and you have to stop him again.</p><p> </p><p> Also as part of this metaphor because I just thought of it and it's so perfect, Drake Young is Deadpool.</p>

We are just two weeks away our first extravaganza of the year; 'CGC Luck of the Draw', live from Victoria, British Columbia and showing exclusively on Pay-Per -View Services. I am here to announce that the challenger for the CGC World Title on that event will be Ryan Powell, so whoever walks out of tonight's main event as champion will go on to- Blockbuster's heavy metal music starts blarring from the in-ring speaker system. It's deafening. The first dozen rows of fans cover their ears. Children burst into tears. It keeps getting louder and louder and LOUDER AND- Stops on the CGC World Champion's signal. BLOCKBUSTER What do you mean "whoever" wins tonight? You don't think a piddling puke like Shane Nelson can actually beat me, do you? He's got a nice story, sure. Really tugs the heart-strings. But ya don't get this belt for having a nice story. Ya don't get this because it's "your turn". When it comes to this belt you've either got it or you don't and it didn't take me 18 years to prove that I got it. Not me. Not you. Not any champion worth a damn. That's why I'm not afraid of your veterans, DeColt. ALEX DECOLT If you aren't afraid, why did you have Skip Beau try to soften up Shane Nelson last week? BLOCKBUSTER I didn't tell him to do that!!! I don't need anyone softened up for nothing!!! I'm the most metal champion in CGC history!!! What's Nelson gonna do, huh??? It'll take more than a well-choreographed dance routine from a teeny-bopping skinny-boy to take this belt from my waist. HUGH DeARRRSKE VS JACK DECOLT Davis Ditterich "Adrian Garcia is offering $50,000 to the man that can injure Jack DeColt, and if there's treasure at stake, you can bet that the Dread Pirate DeArrrske will be after it." DRAKE YOUNG Hey Jenny. I just wanted to say I am appalled by how Dice Elderberry has been speaking to you lately. How dare he take away your agency like that! How dare he reduce you to an object with his male gaze. How dare he silence your voice and not let you express yourself. JENNY PLAYMATE Thanks Drake. That's actually nice to- DRAKE YOUNG I'm a feminist! And feminism is about a woman's right to speak. To choose. To decide their own path. If you ask me, Pin Point don't treat you any better. The way they make you do all of their paperwork, negotiate their contracts, arrange their travel... And look at how they're making you dress. JENNY PLAYMATE Hey! I like how I dress. DRAKE YOUNG Oh... No wonder no one takes you seriously. DRAKE YOUNG VS BOBBY THOMAS Davis Ditterich "Former funnyman Drake Young has found very little to joke about since he got on the internet." Thomas wrestles circles around Young, until Drake complains that 'wrestling' is able-ist and 'circles' are a problematic tool of the patriarchy. Thomas is confused and Young takes advantage of that to punish him for all of his microaggressions, liberally assaulting with left hooks, left jabs and radical knee jerks. Thomas lands an enziguri to the shoulder and shows no mercy, latching onto the arm and trying to rip it from its socket. Specialist Touch (Single Arm DDT)! Cross Armbreaker! Drake taps. BOBBY THOMAS WINS (7:10) Bobby Thomas celebrates but Drake complains to referee Jonathan Taylor that the veteran used the ropes for leverage. Which he didn't. Drake pulls up youtube clips from years ago showing "Virtuoso" Bobby Thomas doing the very thing, as well as some old tweets from Taylor that the referee doesn't want the cameras to see. JONATHAN TAYLOR On... um... examination of the... um... evidence... I have decided that my decision needs to be reversed and instead... DRAKE YOUNG "WINS" (7:10) Davis Ditterich "Does that... Does that count?" Want to see Canadian Golden Combat live and in your town? Well you're in luck, as the stars of CGC are hitting the road in 2019 for an epic Canadian tour. Monday, Week 2, February - Okotoks, Alberta Friday Week 2 - Saint John, New Brunswick Monday Wee 3 - Fredericton, New Brunswick Featuring Jack DeColt, Blockbuster, Bobby Thomas, Express Delivery, Robin DaL ay and more... IN-RING DAN DALAY Two week ago the Gear-Heads lost their beloved bikes in a horrible fire... that we started... and I feel bad. Normally I wouldn't. Normally I'd point and laugh and kick them when they're down... but these days I have to set a good example for my boy. I have to teach him that when pathetic losers are feeling glum, sometimes you need to help them back up. So I got the Gear-Heads some gifts. Dan DaLay pulls the sheet off the first gift, revealing a small tricycle. DAN DALAY Torque! I know it's not a Harley, but let's face it. That was too much bike for you anyhow. This seems like it would fit you much better. I stole it for Robin when he was 6. ROBIN DALAY Because you're small! Dan DaLay reveals the second gift. A mobility scooter. DAN DALAY ... and Greaser! It's been a long time since you've had to walk down to the ring on your own two feet, and I'd hate for you to be all tired and out of breathe before I start kicking your ass, so enjoy. I hope it's strong enough. I asked for extra reinforcement. ROBIN DALAY Because you're fat! GREASER This is funny to you, DaLay??? We built those bikes with our own hands!!!. We spent months- years of adjusting and fine tuning them to perfection!!! We put our heart and souls into them!!! Do you know anything about that??? Yeah, I bet you do!!! You've turned that snot-nosed brat of yours into a perfect little mini-you!!! How do you like it if I took him apart in front of your eyes??? TORQUE You want a match for our titles? You've got it, but this isn't going to be just any match. We want you at Luck of the Draw! Weapons legal! No holds barred! You've taught your boy a lot, DaLay, but have you taught him how to use weapons? GREASER I'd be happy to teach him a lesson he'll never forget!!! Davis Ditterich "Oh boy. Dan DaLay wanted a tag team title shot, but is Robin ready for a Luck of the Draw match?. We'll find out in two weeks." Malik Cash & Jamie Atherton ILLEGALLY BLONDE PIN POINT Mario DaSilva & Ian Identity /w Jenny Playmate Davis Ditterich "Jenny Playmate dreams of managing a World Champion, but her clients have hit a rough patch lately, mostly at the hands of her would-be-suitor Dice Elderberry." Pin Point start off strong with intense clotheslines and limb twisting, but every attempt to combine the two ends in disaster. The Blondes deliver a fastfastfastfastfast beatdown on both Ian and Mario, and climb up top to finish them off. Frustrated, Jenny Playmate starts walking up the ramp. Davis Ditterich "Oh no. Has Jenny lost faith in her clients?" Illegally Blonde fly... but Identity avoids the Swandive Legdrop! Mario dodges the Butt Drop! Intrepid Arrow (Arrow Suplex)! Kimura! Cash taps! PINPOINT WIN (9:42) As the victors celebrate, DIRTY DICE ELDERBERRY hits the ring, lays out Ian with a Belly Butt, and hurls Mario over the top rope and onto Atherton & Cash. DIRTY DICE ELDERBERRY Hey, Playmate. I'm getting sick and tired of having to tell ya this, but you're wasting your time with these bozos. You know as well as I do that they can't be champions. But I can. You've seen me kick their asses. Come with me. Looking at her team in a crumpled heap on the floor, Jenny considers it. DIRTY DICE ELDERBERRY Face it, toots. Women can't be great managers. You're just not capable of taking these guys to the top. You need to stick to what you're good at. Standing there. Looking pretty. And letting Dirty Dice make all your dreams come- Fire in her eyes, Jenny Playmate slaps him! And again! And again! Dice actually starts covering up to defend himself from the blows, until he grabs her wrists. Penfold charges in with a Belly Butt, knocking Dice from the ring! Elderberry is furious and embarassed as Jenny raisies Penfold's hand in victory. 2 weeks away. Featuring... DaLay & Son vs The Gear-Heads for the CGC Tag Team Titles Ryan Powell challenges for the CGC World Title Weapons are legal, but which one will you get? BACKSTAGE JENNY PLAYMATE celebrates with her clients. MARIO DA SILVA cracks open the champagne. IAN IDENTITY turns up the music. PENFOLD PERDITION is the guest of honour and center of attention, gifted with an entire birthday cake. JENNY PLAYMATE I'm sorry guys. For a second there I amost lost faith in you. I guess Dice got in my head and made me start thinking I'm a bad manager. IAN IDENTITY Dice doesn't know what he's talking about, Jenny. You're a great manager. He deserves and Ian-Credible ass-kicking at 'Luck of the Draw' and with you at my side I'm just the guy to give it to him! MARIO DA SILVA No way. I want Dice! I'm going to turn that disgusting mess into my latest masterpiece. My heart yearns for it. Penfold drops his cake. The music stops. Everyone freezes in shock. The Hawaiian shakes his head, pulls out a set of weighing scales, and steps on them. 399lbs. JENNY PLAYMATE You... You made weight... PENFOLD PERDITION I'm not waiting for 'Luck of the Draw'! I want Dice next week! Jenny, Mario and Ian cheer! CGC WORLD TITLE MATCH SHANE NELSON VS BLOCKBUSTER Davis Ditterich "SHANE NELSON WANTS TO FULFILL HIS LATE PARTNER'S DREAM, AND I HAVE A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT TOMORROW TO CHECK THE DAMAGE THE CHAMPION'S MUSIC IS DOING TO MY HEARING." Disorientated by the Champion's unbearably loud music, Shane's caught off guard with some head-banging. He uses his superior agility to frustrate and avoid the heavy metal mauler, but there comes a time in every fight when you need to actually make contact with your opponent, and in this case it's like running into a brick wall. An attempted monkey flip fails horribly, and Blockbuster overpowers the challenger, thrashing and shredding and beating him like a drum. In a last ditch effort, Shane takes a page out of his late tag team partner's book and starts bouncing off the ropes at impossible angles, smashing into Blockbuster from directions the champion didn't even know existed. Dropkicks! Clash of Styles (Inverted Headlock Backbreaker?). He climbs up top, points to the sky, and goes for the Daredevil Drop (Senton Bomb) but the champion moves at the very last moment. Buster Bomb (Turnbuckle Powerbomb)! 1... 2... 3. BLOCKBUSTER WINS (16:54) Davis Ditterich "The dominant CGC World Champion gets another big win, but will he be as successful against Ryan Powell in two weeks at 'Luck of the Draw'?" Blockbuster stands over the fallen challenger, holding his CGC World Title belt aloft as his heavy metal music blasts out of his custom-built in-ring speaker system and gets louder and louder and LOUDER and LOUDER and... C- 0.77 rating on Maple Leaf Sports (down from 0.87 last week) Oof. DaLay & Blockbuster got their storylines back up to scratch, but now Maple Leaf Sports are mad at me. I made certain promises when negotiating an earlier timeslot, and this show let me down. On paper Shane Nelson looks every bit as capable as Bobby Thomas, but something didn't click with Blockbuster. Not chemistry, but perhaps a worse stylistic fit. Again, maybe a strong promo segment would have saved the show. I've rewritten a LOT of the upcoming Road to WrestleFestival since running this show on Thursday as I could tell what I had planned wasn't going to work. My booking isn't desperate enough. The wrong guys are in the wrong spots. I like Ian Identity, but there comes a point where I wonder if I need to cut my losses. He's got every upside I want, but has been buried so deep that fans just don't care. DaSilva and LaGrenier and Atherton and DeArrrske are in similar boats but Ian's suffering most. Worst guy in the worst match 3 weeks in a row. Atherton was at least the star of tonight's debacle. House shows look fairly positive thus far, drawing 747 to Montebello, Quebec and 741 to Spruce Grove, Alberta. $7,000 in ticket sales. I like the loop the game is giving me, with house shows on Friday & Monday and a 4-day-weekend for the lads. I love the replies to "who is CGC?" and I'll likely reply later on. Once I have time to ponder the newer ones. Next Sunday of CGC Title Bout Wrestling... Zergon
I do love the rebuilding project you took with this one and I´m interested to see how it will end up. Mystery Opponent vs Jack DeColt Doh, only Powell and DaLay would be over enough to even consired going over Jack and both have other things to do right now so Jack gets a win here. Skip Beau & Diablo DeVille vs Shane Nelson & Bobby Thomas I could see this one going either way as Skip and Diablo are younger but I just like Bobby Thomas so I have to go with him. Dirty Dice Elderberry vs Penfold Perdition Afraid Jenny´s team gets another loss here. Who on the CGC roster do you think is going to try to cash in on the bounty on Jack's head? Sayid Ali haven´t made an appearance yet (so not sure if he´s face or heel) but I´d go with him if I´d want strong main event assuming he´s heel of course. Zeus Maxmillion would be another good option (again, assuming aligment is right) but I did go with Ali simply because he´s more of a heel in my books while Zeus I usually see as face.
