HEADLINES FROM FEBRUARY!

UeSNBs7.jpgcplAPDC.jpg

As North America has been and always will be a competitive market for Pro Wrestling, it seems the giant wrestling war (wrestle-war?) that has been going on between NA's giants has become even larger, as Richard Eisen began taking shots at NOTBPW owner Jeremy Stone this past month, calling out NOTBPW and saying things such as it not being 'real entertainment.', with Stone responding aggressively to the comments made, meaning there is no love lost here between the men, and the promotions.

sRTvms8.jpg

A boom in business last month for Queens of American Wrestling (QAW) means they are now classed as a 'regionally' promoted company, and we hope they can bring a bigger spotlight onto the women's wrestling scene!

CWJTYUT.jpg

In a shocking move, South Of The Border Pro Wrestling (SOTBPW) acquired yet ANOTHER huge American name - that of NICKY CHAMPION, who signed with them this past month and has yet to make his televised debut for the company.

eizySci.jpgfwz8Z9b.jpg

United States Pro Wrestling scored some victories this past month, as they managed to sign both Canadian star RICKY DECOLT and American star ROCKY GOLDEN, after fierce bidding wars. Neither man has made an on-screen debut yet, and Golden is still finishing up his contracted dates with Total Championship Wrestling, who are probably scrambling to find a replacement (if that's even possible) for the star.

4MV7utg.jpg

In tragic news, it was announced that Australian 'legend' Big Jim Teasdale died last month of natural causes. The medical staff who serviced him were bewildered by the sudden passing, as he was only 48 years old and seemed to be in good health. Tributes poured in all throughout last month, and it is understood that DIW's owner The Comedian was very hurt by the passing of his friend Jim.

s49MLMN.jpg

Keiji Takeda, who passed away in January of this year, was finally inducted into the PGHW Hall Of Fame this past month for his time served as their head announcer. He was beloved by many for his work, and so this induction was well-deserved, though we still wish he could've been alive to see it.

<p>Hold on Big Jim Teasdale passed away. Man I loved the bloke, his rugged look mixed with a suit gave him a great look and his commentary in DIW was something great. He really held down the desk and while DIW looks to be easing back financially I hope they find someone to fill the void. Anyway back to the predictions of NEW!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Brendan Idol</strong> Vs. Remmy Honeyman</p><p> </p><p>

Brendan Idol is the future. He has a decent push, and I am surprised he hasnt had a full fued with Jack yet, as he seems credible. </p><p> </p><p>

The Heartbreak Express w/ Sweet Tabitha Vs. <strong>The Dynamite Express ©</strong></p><p>

NEW World Tag Team Titles on the line!</p><p> </p><p>

With the rockers back I can see the champs moving on from this fued finally, or a dusty finish due to them to set up a 3-way fued. </p><p> </p><p>

Quentin Queen Vs. <strong>Samael The Accuser</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Samael is beimg built as a monster. Queen is an alright talent though. </p><p> </p><p>

Ricochet Ramone Vs. <strong>Jack Avatar</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Jack is champ, Ramone is decent enhancement. </p><p> </p><p>

Cal Sanders Vs. <strong>Austin Smooth</strong></p><p> </p><p>

This could go either way really. I would say Cal is higher up on the card, but he has been losing almost all his matches while Smooth has been building some momentum as of late. </p><p> </p><p>

The Good Ol' Boys Vs. <strong>Harry Allen & California Love Machine</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Harry Allen is just too good. Ol' Boys arent even on the tag-team radar let alone against Main Event guys.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Riley McManus © w/ Streetz </strong>Vs. Danny Rushmore</p><p>

NEW World Heavyweight Title on the line!</p><p> </p><p>

Rushmore is being built like a monster. Still weird to see not really a turn for Riley but him be more of a face. I don't think Rushmore wins the title yet but he should win it down the line.</p>

NEW ENGLAND WRESTLING PRESENTS: CRUSADE IN MARCH 2017

808 Fans at The Skid Row Club, New England

Stepping into the backstage area was like stepping into a hangout space. Everybody was socializing and, just like usual, Ryan Turner was keeping everyone engaged in conversation with his off-the-wall personality and cheerfulness, keeping the mood up. Danny Rushmore was having a chat with Jack Avatar, continuing to teach the youngster some things.

I signaled for everyone to get ready and we were underway.

OPENING BOUT:

BRENDAN IDOL VS. REMMY HONEYMAN

NbKrOwB.jpgJtlo8Gv.jpgfM9VwWs.jpg

A tale as old as time - the experienced veteran against the plucky young upstart. Remmy was more of a technician, while Idol was more known for his aerial game - this didn't give either man a clear advantage, though, as they both knew just how to counter the other's style. Honeyman surprisingly took control early on, keeping Idol grounded and locked up for the first five or six minutes of the bout. Idol eventually broke free, and with the crowd cheering him on, started flying around the ring, catching Honeyman off guard at every conceivable angle. Honeyman eventually regained control - albeit for a few minutes, before Idol took back the flow and ended the match with an Idolizer at about the Twelve minute mark.

WINNER: BRENDAN IDOL

RATING: xo3fH3p.jpg

Solid bout from two solid wrestlers. Honeyman surprisingly carried the match with his performance, but he put over Idol good, leaving the crowd and myself both happy with the outcome.

ANGLE #1:

THE HEARTBREAK EXPRESS PREPARE FOR THEIR BOUT!

6KIrqtp.jpgzPwNMyB.jpg

The Heartbreak Express are seen backstage doing various exercises and things whilst Tabitha roots them on and encourages them for their upcoming bout against the Dynamite Express.

Tabitha: "You can do this, guys. You'll head out there - and y- AAH!" Tabitha shrieked, causing the Heartbreak Express to turn around, right into chair shots to their heads.

BOkf9Tb.jpggpmtDrD.jpgqF5DKeB.jpg

THE ROCK CITY STARS

The Rock City Stars continued to beat up the two youngsters, while Osiris and Tabitha both watched from afar. Eventually venue staff and the referees came to tear the duos apart, and it was clear that the Heartbreak Express would be in no condition to fight tonight.

RATING: jLRkatX.jpg

LOWER MIDCARD BOUT:

QUENTIN QUEEN VS. SAMAEL THE ACCUSER

6f5dv25.jpgJtlo8Gv.jpgxJQC0Tg.jpg

Another victim for Samael's wrath. Queen took a beating from Samael, who didn't let up the entirety of the match. Unable to get any offense, Queen seemed to give up and shortly thereafter Samael finished him off with a Poison of God.

WINNER: SAMAEL THE ACCUSER

RATING: 9BkRvPs.jpg

Another good squash match for Samael to help cement him as a major threat. I felt a little bad feeding Queen to him, but at the moment Queen isn't going anywhere so it shouldn't hurt him too bad. Besides, Queen still has plenty of time to be rebuilt, Samael is gonna be white-hot here soon, and that's when you capitalize on the momentum.

ANGLE #2:

CHRISTIAN FAITH MAKES AN ANNOUNCEMENT!

gpmtDrD.jpgBOkf9Tb.jpgsI5JTp4.jpgeHDrrIZ.jpgLxUmW7w.jpg

I had both teams on either side of me, and we were standing in the ring. The Stars looked arrogant as ever and the Express were visibly upset that the circumstances of their schedule for tonight had changed.

Me: "Now boys," I paused, looking at both teams. "I can obviously see you're both very rowdy." All four men nodded. "-And that you want to rip into each other and walk away the clear victor, titles in hand," They all nodded once more. "-But," I paused. "-Due to the circumstances, ahem," I looked directly at the Stars. "This tag team bout will NOT be for the World Tag Team titles. Instead, it will be for the right to have a tag title match."

Stan Manna stepped forward with his own mic.

Stan: "Sorry, boss, but if there's no titles involved tonight - there's no match." He smirked. "We're gettin' our title shot again, whether you like it or not."

Me: "Well, my job just became easier.. guess what?" Stan awaited my reply eagerly. "-No. Match." I dropped the mic and exited the ring.

RATING: CsB0hzN.jpg

MIDCARD BOUT:

RICOCHET RAMONE VS. JACK AVATAR

WGZqerd.jpgJtlo8Gv.jpg4aHgMXT.jpg

Avatar carried another match this month, as Ramone was as spotty as ever (albeit a little bit less this time around, not that that's saying much.) Jack looked amazing out there and it can probably be credited to his private chats with Danny Rushmore, who also clearly sees the potential in the young man. Jack came out the winner after nine minutes of one-sided action and an All American Slam.

WINNER: JACK AVATAR

RATING: UDVbSIQ.jpg

A solid performance from Jack creates an entertaining bout that everyone enjoyed. This kid has a bright future.

MIDCARD BOUT:

CAL SANDERS VS. AUSTIN SMOOTH

wG8omPG.jpgJtlo8Gv.jpgWlTMHhx.jpg

A fairly average match all round, Sanders and Smooth met for a decent amount of back and forth action, although that was pretty much it. Not an 'exciting' bout, but definitely not a boring one, either. Smooth walked away the victor after roughly 10 minutes of back and forth wrestling and his trademark Smooth Hold.

WINNER: AUSTIN SMOOTH

RATING: 3AFEJs4.jpg

A solid, albeit average bout from the two reliable performers. I see a bright future ahead of Austin, and Cal is a reliable hand who should've had a more successful career.

UPPER MIDCARD BOUT:

THE GOOD OL' BOYS VS. HARRY ALLEN & CALIFORNIA LOVE MACHINE

B0og2oI.jpgbwDN2JI.jpgJtlo8Gv.jpg28UMtHj.jpgvkWB9av.jpg

The match started with the Boys rushing and cornering Harry Allen, keeping him trapped while they continuously wailed on him with devastating strikes. Langton went to lift him up for a power slam, but Allen was able to wriggle away, tagging out to California Love Machine, who came charging out the gate. Hitting a devastatingly good Missile Dropkick on Langton, CLM took control of the match. Able to easily out wrestle and out maneuver the big brute, CLM bought enough time for Allen to recover and tag back in, as Allen came off the top turnbuckle with a Flying Fist Drop that landed right between Langton's eyes, ending the match in just over 13 minutes.

WINNERS: HARRY ALLEN & CALIFORNIA LOVE MACHINE

RATING: UL7NlAb.jpg

A good co-Main Event from two reliable stars and the Good Ol' Boys. Allen obviously performed the best out there, but everyone else looked pretty decent too. A good way to set up for our Main Event.

MAIN EVENT BOUT:

RILEY MCMANUS © w/ STREETZ VS. DANNY RUSHMORE

NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH!

oIDI3qM.jpg

JwElApK.jpg w/ OFmOpfs.jpgJtlo8Gv.jpgH8afULw.jpg

Starting off, Rushmore dominated McManus, easily overpowering the youngster and easily squashing him with devastating blows. This went on for roughly five minutes before Streetz grabbed Rushmore, turning him around. This only led to Streetz getting his ass beat for about thirty seconds while McManus recovered. McManus shot up to his feet and tied up Rushmore, who was pre-occupied with Streetz. He brought the bigger man down to the ground and kept him locked up for a majority of the rest of the match, only letting go to put on a new hold. Eventually he lifted Rushmore up and BAM!, in a surprising feat of strength, hit the wrestling veteran with a Slingshot Suplex for the win after getting ten minutes into the bout.

WINNER: RILEY MCMANUS © (1st TITLE DEFENCE)

RATING: uzT1jxu.jpg

OVERALL SHOW RATING: jLRkatX.jpg

McManus celebrated in the ring as everyone began packing up. Rushmore stormed through the curtain looking fairly upset but I could care less - he's had his time in the spotlight, now it's time to make way for the next generation of stars. A good show, though not as good as last month's, this will still at least leave the fans wanting more. What will happen next month? Well, I know - but why think about it now? The venue began clearing out as I packed up my bags and handed out paychecks.

Date: Monday, Week 1, April 2017

HEADLINES FROM MARCH!

QbWaSNB.jpgA3CWwYs.jpgjdY8B1g.jpg

North Of The Border Pro Wrestling (NOTBPW) won some big battles over TCW and CGC, as they managed to lock down CHRISTIAN PRICE, DONTE DUNN AND EDD STONE this past month. Christian Price was entered into the Ed Henson Memorial Tag Team Cup, alongside "Shooter" Sean Deeley, though it was in a losing effort. Donte Dunn also debuted in a losing effort on NOTBPW Championship Wrestling. Edd Stone has had a solid four bouts since joining his family company, also taking part in the Ed Henson Memorial Tag Team Cup, also in a losing effort. He has been primarily featured in the tag division alongside Duane Stone.

rApKVGK.jpgNBp1tWc.jpg

El Critico opened up a new promotion down in Mexico, called Mexican Hardcore Wrestling (MHW). As the name proudly suggests, MHW is a hardcore, Lucha Libre hybrid that is looking to take advantage of an opening in the market. We wish them the best of luck.

oggEmGO.jpg

Young Japanese star Kazunori Yamura announced his retirement last month, highlighting the career-ending injury (a Patellar Tendon Rupture) he received March of last year working a match against Hiroaki Nakasawa. It is noted that the injury was not caused by Nakasawa himself, and that it was sustained at some point towards the end of the bout.

mS1WkuY.jpg

Christopher Ball amazed everyone this past month, coming home with a victory from the MMA fight he decided to take a few months back. It is noted that he will be taking some time off, but will likely be returning to active competition very soon.

Z5mdckC.jpg4pxdxmy.jpg

RAW and its executives were caught red-handed this past month, as they had tried to spread a damaging story about DIW that insisted the members of the promotion were all satanic worshipers, and that it was a cult. Fortunately, some insiders uncovered this and leaked it to the world, causing RAW to become a laughing stock on the internet and the company's reputation to be damaged, perhaps irreparably.

TSRAcbw.jpgpwv4hDt.jpg

2017 may be the last year you see matches from Simon Flemmingway and Fallen Angel, as both men sustained career-threatening injuries this past month. Flemmingway sustained an Ankle Tendonitis while working a tag team bout during PGHW's Hellbound tour, while Angel sustained a Herniated Disc working a CILL show. Both men will be our for just over a year, though many are already calling that both men will retire. Guess we'll find out next year. We hope they have a speedy and efficient recovery, and that it isn't the end for either.

dx02SDB.jpg

In other news, Scythe, of RIPW fame, was recently called up to the SWF Main Roster, leaving an opening in RIPW and a chance for mainstream success for the young big man.

yUjtn7H.jpg

Also in RIPW, Raphael, of both RIPW and NEW fame, became the third man ever to win the RIPW March To Victory tournament, leaving his name in the RIPW/SWF history books alongside Ranger (2016 winner) and Masked Patriot (2015 winner).

Looks like I was wrong about Phillippe going bigger than Raph but good to see NEW talent being recognised. Also f@$*! RAW.

Predictions:

Cal Sanders Vs. Cameron Jones

Building up half of the tag-team champions as they look towards a triple threat and what is one of the biggest if not the biggest tag-team match in NEW history.

The Rock City Stars w/ Osiris Vs. The Good Ol' Boys

New addition for the boys (Was osiris always with them?) They pick up an easy win to continue their momentum and earn a Tag-Team championship match.

Samael The Accuser Vs. Remmy Honeyman

At the moment he has an intriguing story. I think he could be the next Jack Avatar opponent and the one to finally upset him as he gets built as a monster.

Brendan Idol Vs. Quentin Queen

Both guys are great and will have strong futures but Idol mixes it up with top rung guys.

Syd Collier Vs. Jack Avatar

Syd is unlucky, he performed really well two weeks ago but while his teammate picks up single wins he seems to get more loses when going solo. Against the champion Jack Avatar he isn't going to win.

Austin Smooth Vs. Danny Rushmore

Rushmore is scary, coming off a loss to McManus I fear for Smooths wellbeing.

Riley McManus w/ Streetz Vs. Harry Allen

Poor Harry, he has a ME named after him. While I could see an upset here. McManus still is involved with his fued.

<span style="font-size:12px;">A smaller turnout than last month, but we're hoping to turn that around with this show. Got a lot going on for this month, and if my prediction is correct, this'll be a good one. Headed to my agent spot and signaled the 'go.' Everyone started shuffling out and getting to where they're supposed to be, and we started the show.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">OPENING BOUT:</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">CAL SANDERS VS. CAMERON JONES</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">A bout between veteran and solid youngster, of a cruiserweight and a technician. A pretty back and forth bout that could've believably gone either way if you didn't know the context of the match, but as many have before him, Jones managed to ground the aerial artist known as Cal Sanders and keep him down. This isn't to say Sanders was out-matched on the ground, as he held his own with the young technical wrestler, but he was just a few steps too far behind Jones fluid transitions and holds, which lead to his downfall. Jones eventually set him up for a Fisherman's Suplex, ending the match at around the ten minute mark.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WINNER: CAMERON JONES</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">A solid bout and a good win for Cameron to start us off. Although he's the weaker of the two when it comes to in-ring performance, there's something about him that makes me see him as a singles star. Of course, I won't be breaking the Express up anytime soon - they're the focal point and stars of our tag division, and they perform excellently together, so it'd just damage both of them. But maybe someday, elsewhere, Jones will flourish.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">LOWER MIDCARD BOUT:</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">The match got underway and straight out of the gate the Ol' Boys were dominating Turner and Manna, using their size and power to just obliterate the two rockers. It looked like it was gonna be a swift victory for the Boys - much to the surprise of everyone in attendance, until Osiris got up on the apron and distracted Thimbleby Langton, using her obvious sex appeal to divert his attention from victory. This gave Stan Manna enough time to recover and swiftly roll up Langton in a schoolboy rollup for the pinfall victory. Once the bell rang the Stars got the hell out of dodge, leaving a frustrated Fitzpaine in the ring with a surprised Langton.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">An upsetting loss for the Good Ol' Boys, and a harrowing tale of survival for the Stars. Decent enough bout, nothing much more to say than that.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">LOWER MIDCARD BOUT:</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">SAMAEL THE ACCUSER VS. REMMY HONEYMAN</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="xJQC0Tg.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xJQC0Tg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Jtlo8Gv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Jtlo8Gv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="fM9VwWs.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/fM9VwWs.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">The crowd were excited for Samael. The next page in his NEW story would be this match. This one went on longer than most of his other bouts, as Remmy managed to hold off his devastating offense and defend himself pretty decently. Unfortunately for Honeyman, Samael broke through the defense with his heavy offense and pummeled Honeyman, probably as punishment for making the bout last longer than Samael would've liked. Samael ended it with a Poison Of God at around the eight minute mark, putting Honeyman out of his misery.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WINNER: SAMAEL THE ACCUSER</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">ANGLE #1:</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">SAMAEL CONTINUES ON HIS PATH OF DESTRUCTION!</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">Samael picked up a limp Honeyman, hoisting him over his shoulder and carrying him out of the venue while a cameraman followed. Samael led us to the 'graveyard' he had in the parking lot, already two headstones were there - Ben Williams and Melvin Otto - who haven't been seen since their singles defeat. A third pit was dug up already, and Samael dropped a lifeless Honeyman into the pit, then picked up a shovel, burying him.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Samael:</strong></span><span style="font-size:12px;"> "Thou should not oppose... the wrath of..." He paused, letting out a scary sigh, "Wrath of the Poison Of God... you will see... your mistake... and you will... be... reborn..." Suddenly, Samael turned around and looked directly at the camera. "Who... else... will defy the Poison Of the Gods?..." The camera immediately went to static.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">RATING: </span><img alt="LGWy1l8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LGWy1l8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">A great way to scare and keep the crowd involved. Remmy Honeyman, third man to be defeated by Samael. Quentin Queen was spared, for what reason? Who knows. I sure don't.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">MIDCARD BOUT:</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">BRENDAN IDOL VS. QUENTIN QUEEN</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">This bout was a one-sided affair, with Idol keeping the momentum firmly on his side for the entirety of the match. This isn't to say Queen didn't lay in some offense, it just was sporadic, and not enough to swing the flow into his favor. Idol finished him off at just over the ten minute mark with his trademark Idolizer.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WINNER: BRENDAN IDOL</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">Decent bout where Idol goes over. I feel bad for Queen, but there's something about him that just makes it hard to push him as a contender for titles. Solid midcard hand, sure, but future champion? I don't think so. It pains me to say this, but Queen may just be one of those guys who won't make it. I could be wrong, seeing as PSW recently signed him to a pay-per-appearance deal, along with a few others on the roster, and I hope I am wrong.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">UPPER MIDCARD BOUT:</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">SYD COLLIER VS. JACK AVATAR</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">A good back and forth bout. You couldn't guess the winner until the end was near, that's how well each of these men performed. Plenty of near falls and other false finishes kept the match well intriguing, and the crowd ate it all up. In the ring, both men performed better than I have seen most of the others perform. Collier came so close to winning via his submission holds, but the technician was just not quite there and Avatar took control, ending the match in just under sixteen minutes with an All American Slam.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WINNER: JACK AVATAR</span></strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">One of the best matches in NEW history just happened, and even though Jack went over, Syd showed me that he can be something phenomenal if given the chance. He was doing better than Jack was, and Jack is one of our surefire future stars. I have high hopes for both of these men, and I hope one of the bigger companies comes along soon and sees their potential.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Allison:</strong></span><span style="font-size:12px;"> "So, Austin, how do you feel about your upcoming match with Danny Rushmore?"</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Austin:</strong></span><span style="font-size:12px;"> "Y'know, babe, I'm feelin' pretty damn good. Think about it: Danny Slowpoke is one of indy wrestling's biggest names at the moment, fresh outta United States Pro Wrestling. USPW, man! Think about it, if I - no, when I beat Rushmore tonight, I'll instantly be a name. I'll be </span><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>somebody</em></span><span style="font-size:12px;">, and somebodies - well, they go places. And I'm going places, whether anyone wants to admit it or not, I'll be going places. This is just page one of the Austin Smooth success story, which will be coming to stores near you when I'm a famous superstar, of course." Austin winked at the camera. Allison rolled her eyes.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Allison:</strong></span><span style="font-size:12px;"> "Anyways, that's quite the proclamation. Aren't you the slightest bit scared? I can tell you most people would be. Danny Rushmore is no easy victory."</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Austin:</strong></span><span style="font-size:12px;"> "Well, babe, it will become an easy feat once the greatest wrestler of all time - me, Austin Smooth, shows you how easy a feat it will be. Since, as you know, Austin Smooth will be a star, and this guy is just some washed up veteran who thinks he can rise back up the ranks - well, Danny, that's just not how it works. But you know that, right? Sure you do. You know it better than anyone. How many veterans have you defeated, or seen be defeated, after trying to claim glory that has already swept past them? I can probably name a few, eh? Yeah, here we go, let's start with your old tag te-"</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">Smooth was (thankfully) cut off by a shriek from Allison, causing Smooth to turn away from the camera and be floored by a direct clothesline.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="H8afULw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/H8afULw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">Danny Rushmore stormed into view, tossing Smooth all over the place and sending him flying all around the backstage area. He beat the youngster senseless, leaving him broken and battered when he was finally finished. Rushmore glared at the camera before storming away. It was clear that there would no longer be a match tonight, Austin Smooth was clearly in no fighting condition any longer.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">In a re-match that people have been waiting for, McManus and Allen showed their animosity, neither letting up for a single moment in this tense, back and forth bout that, like many others, could've very easily gone either way in a believable fashion. Sadly, at around the fifteen minute mark, Allen went for his match-ending Flying Fist Drop, but a very slick McManus avoided the move and turned it into a Slingshot Suplex, leaving Allen down and out. Just to be sure, McManus picked him up and performed the move two more times, and at around the sixteen minute mark, McManus' hand was raised in victory following a pinfall.</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;">A fantastic show for the month of April, leaving many things to tie into next month's show, NEW: Proving Grounds. Time to start preparing for the tournament, and who shall be the participants for this years'. McManus won 2016, and look at 'im now, he's the champ. Can't take this tournament lightly, though I've got ideas on who deserves a spot.</span></p><p> </p><p>

Date: Monday, Week 1, May 2017

HEADLINES FROM APRIL!

cplAPDC.jpg

In the first of our headlines from last month, SWF has debuted a new weekly television show, called SWF: The Week That Was. This new show has been classified as a "B" Show, and as such will likely not contain anything too major in regards to storylines, and is just a place to showcase some talent that aren't featured on the regular show, Supreme TV.

B8Zv3o4.jpgdadlkBR.jpg

Retirement claimed some more names last month, as Paul Huntingdon, a young star of SWF fame, retired from competition due to an injury he received last year, and Jake Panic, a veteran of the British and European indy circuits, hung up his boots for the last time. It is unknown at this time what paths these two will take in regards to their future plans, but we wish them the best of luck.

With a recent boost in ratings and attendances despite last years devastating Tsunami, BHOTWG has managed to recover slightly, rising up to a 'National' Class promotion in Japan. We hope this expansion continues and that it can help towards repairing the industry over in the East.

After much deliberation, Sammy Bach has been selected to be Total Championship Wrestling (TCW)'s new 'Figurehead', meaning he'll be at the forefront of advertising campaigns, events, and storylines for the foreseeable future. It is unclear at this time how this will affect their business and revenue, though most predictions say he'll be a positive impact.

L3SKqUk.jpgZZVm3jx.jpg

Also in TCW news, the company managed to sign both Ross Henry and Dusty Ducont (of USPW fame) from the independent circuit. Ducont was let go from USPW a few months ago, and has been working for various companies since. Henry, who had yet to be picked up by a 'name' company, is a big acquisition for TCW and could be a breakout star if handled right.

After intense contract biddings throughout April, USPW managed to win a sizeable victory over SWF and TCW, signing Rogue and Eddie Peak to multi-year deals. They also managed to keep Trent Shaffer, who was of primary interest to all three companies. It has yet to be seen how SWF will manage to cope, with TCW already signing Dusty Ducont and Ross Henry to try and 'cover' the loss of Eddie.

Just as he did twelve months ago, Mobumasa Saionji has announced that a new tour with his band will commence in three months' time, starting in July. Last year the tour was a big success, so the band are likely trying to capture some more of that 'on-the-road' glory.

So I thought I posted this already but I guess I didnt lol. Anyway, being predictable doesn't mean it is bad booking. It just means that when an upset does happen, it is a bigger deal. It also shows you have clearly established who your stars are, and on not major shows your stars wont regularly face off. So there should be an easy pick except for big events like this.

Samael The Accuser Vs. Cal Sanders

Samael is on the war path, does another grave get dug? I doubt it due to the tournament setting, and your roster getting pretty thinned out. Samael wins this match up.

Austin Smooth Vs. Ricochet Ramone

Smooth is just in a better position than Ramone and has been mixing it up with the Main Eventers a bit more. This could be a time for an upset.

Quentin Queen Vs. Harry Allen

Allen is the best in the company. Give him back his Title.

Brendan Idol Vs. California Love Machine

CLM is a sad case for me. He won the battle royal, lost his Title match which is fair but hasn't done anything of note. Idol isnt the biggest win he could notch but certainly a good rung on the ladder.

SEMI-FINALS

Match 1 Winner Vs. Match 2 Winner

Samael needs a strong win over a more established talent. He could also lose this match and get in a feud with Smooth which could raise his value as well. It is close, but I think Samael gets elevated higher than Smooth is right now. So close to going the other way, as it makes more sense for Samael to feud with Smooth.

Match 3 Winner Vs. Match 4 Winner

This is another one that could go either way, as I said CLM hasn't done anything of note so could grab a win here. Helping establish himself more, while honestly Allen is still spinning his heels.

FINALS

Semi Final 1 Winner Vs. Semi Final 2 Winner

Either way the winner is from this side of the bracket. Unless an upset is on the cards for Samael, he gets his first loss in the tournament and due to it starts a feud.

OTHER BOUTS

Jack Avatar © Vs. ???

You talked about being less predictable, and now debuting a surprise guy against your strongest champ is definitely unpredictable. While there is only a few guys on the roster you could consider Jack dropping the title to currently, a big debut signing is perfect to get Jack to chase.

The Dynamite Express © Vs. The Heartbreak Express w/ Sweet Tabitha Vs. The Rock City Stars w/ "Rock Princess" Osiris

If The Champs Are Pinned; Whoever Pinned Them Receives A Title Shot Next Month

But they don't pin the Champs. It is a good three way to keep going, you make Heartbreak Express look a little weaker here but they should still have momentum after being champs.

Riley McManus © Vs. Danny Rushmore

NEW World Heavyweight Championship Bout; Streetz Is Banned From Ringside

Riley has flopped as Champion for me. Sure he has defended the title, but Rushmore is so much more interesting as a character and a lack of Streetz gives McManus a good excuse. With that said if McManus won it wouldn't surprise me as you would want to solidify that championship potential.

  • 3 weeks later...

Oh jeez. It's been forever since I posted on this.

Well, I guess with everything that's been going on in the world and with the new game coming out soon, I had lost motivation to see this through to the end.

Fortunately this isn't the end for me. As while this diary (much like my previous diaries) has been put on the shelf, I can announce that with TEW2020 just around the corner, I will be launching a diary focused on developing the next generation of stars in the CornellVerse '97 Data created by DerekB, using the "real" New! England! WRESTLING!

Sorry I couldn't take this one further. I might keep playing around in the save for a little while, but I won't be writing anything up anymore. If anyone's interested, I'd be willing to send out the save data so you can play around with it while we wait for the new game. :)

EDIT: I immediately thought about this and decided it wouldn't be fair to end this without going through with the 2017 Proving Grounds tournament. Expect that to be written up in the coming days.
