I've mentioned it elsewhere, but with the addition of India to the gameplay system, it's going to be really neat to see the Thunderverse, as they've already got several workers of Indian descent, not to mention one company that's mentioned in the overall T-Verse backstory.

I wonder what kind of wrestling they like in India. Aren't they still fully immersed into kayfabe? If so, send in a few Orange Cassidy types to blow their minds.

Yup, we've got Wrestling India baked into the canon of the Thunderverse. Every chance they pop up in the 2020 mod..

..or we just might have just cannoned them into the sea and had other ideas on where to go! ;)

Never seen, read about or played thunderverse, but will try it out and see it for the 1st time when(if) the mod drops for 2020.

Whats different between the thunderverse and cornellverse that makes people love the mod so much? Im not doubting it or anything just interested, as I don't want to spoil any of the new and key features of the thunderverse until I can play it for myself

Well, the two things I hear are the aesthetically consistent character renders, and there being both more women workers and more opportunities for women. There are more women's companies, and there are also more companies that are integrated or have women's divisions.

So the Thunderverse is very much a fictional universe in the same vein from the Cornellverse but it's got its own full history, world landscape and such that has been carried on since the initial jhdverse release in 2010 so people have carried over with it from TEW to TEW and seen the world develop. I've tried to be as unbiased as possible here since I'm on the team (and I suck at advertising!), I'm sure people who've played it over the years will be able to give you a more in-depth answer. :)

I'll admit the consistent graphical style is a large part of why I love the Thunderverse, but that's true of other mods like the Londonverse and Rockverse and while I like those they've yet to resonate quite as much.

There's an awful lot on top of the fantastic renders/logos/belts etc. that makes the Thunderverse so enjoyable. The history of the game world comes across really nicely. There's a ton of unique characters and promotions, but presented in a game world that, I think, is a lot more plausible than the Cornellverse. In the Cverse every game region (outside of Europe) has at least one pretty big promotion, in America there are three 70+ companies. I don't like how unrealistically popular wrestling seems to be in the Cornellverse. The Thunderverse feels like a more realistic, plausible universe, that gives you the challenge of trying to elevate wrestling in some regions, while also having the areas where it's already very popular to explore.

The Thunderverse has more promotions, more characters, more canon backstory (I think). It just generally feels more fleshed out than the Cornellverse, gives you so much to explore and so many different interesting promotions/characters to try out.

Besides what people have already mentioned, the biggest thing that always stuck out to me with the TVerse is that it felt built for TEW more than Cornellverse was somehow.

Its like it translated the way the real world is set up company/worker wise and made it work within how TEW is built. CV for me felt like the game world always had to adjust to how TEW works a great deal more. Like the world had to shape itself to fit TEW's framework. TVerse felt like the adjustment period wasnt there or as prominent compared to CV (or compared to the much more drastic adjustments RW mods do when you start a game).

Actually, I think the T-Verse could use a few more title belt renders, either generic, or a few company specific ones that a player can use to "debut" a new division or whatever.

<p>Alright fellas, while we wait for the new ThunderVerse for 2020, I had to pick up UPJ again. Posting it here to drum up some support for UPJ in the new version. Hope that is okay, I'm just manifesting that UPJ is doing well this time around <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Final third of 2021 along with Jan/Feb of 2022 are in the books. Here’s a quick look at the Hall of Immortals 2021 show with 60,000 fans strong (more than the Tokyo Dome <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />)</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="Rv9MwwF.png?3" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Rv9MwwF.png?3" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Some quick notes, all titles changed hands except for Eternal Italy retaining their tag belts. Oda wins the big one again, buuut it wasn’t against Erik van Rijn, sooo it’s a great victory, but not the “ultimate” victory for him if anyone here is familiar with that story. Eternal Italy (Leonzio Battaglia & Nicolo Calicchio) vs. Ignite Zero got the highest rating at 97 which was a shock to me. It shot Battaglia and Calicchio into the main event scene right away. Talisman and Meiyoshin disappointed because they usually get a great rating. EVR/Brandt in their first ever singles match with a 96 rating is awesome, so they won’t be seeing the last of each other. Hiroaki Yamato is one hell of a generated worker as well. Future figurehead for sure. Here he is:</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="dNiKnLk.png?4" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dNiKnLk.png?4" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

For some reason he is extremely good at hardcore matches too. Too bad I can’t take advantage of that <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

January and February of 2022 were pretty standard, the Struggle for Power event was headlined by Oda vs. Danny McManus for the HW title. K-Splosion (Evan Kuja and Kozue) defeated Eternal Italy for the tag titles here, because I wanted Leonzio Battaglia to challenge Sean Girven for the IC title in February. Oda defended against Magus Stonebreaker in Feb. at Dynamite in Tokyo as well. I poached Kaoru Sakagami from DIASPORA late last year, so I’ll be giving him a match (loss) with Talisman for the JHW title at the Ozeki Summit Finale. </p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of the Summit, my next show kicks off the Summit Tour, so here’s my brackets for that:</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="ARNvbjb.png?2" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ARNvbjb.png?2" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I’ll take guesses by anyone who cares enough on who wins <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Usually I do 10 in each block, but going to test out 8/block for this year.</p><p> </p><p>

Just gonna keep chugging along for awhile. I don’t want to start any 2020 games yet</p>

I'm worried Yamato will pull an Onita himself and bounce. Hell, people have splintered from UPJ twice already, why not a third?</p>

Speaking of Japan, I think a run with LETHAL as a Big Japan-esque company with a strong style and deathmatch division split would be super fun — now that there's a product built into 2020 for that.

WRESTLERAGE>LETHAL anyway.

Ooh, I forgot about them. That's an even better idea.

I'm a NJPW mark through and through, but I love the variety of products you can find all over Japan. Would love to run a BJPW-inspired save and a DDT-inspired one just to see how much fun booking those could be — in the TVerse, of course.
