RocheBag
Do we know yet what goes into determining a single worker's "in-ring performance" rating during a show? That seems to be the main thing holding back my card average, people are just turning in mid-60 performances creating mid-60 matches unless they're my top guys. Whichever top row stat is the best (Brawling, Technical, Aerial, Puro, Hardcore in certain products), and Psychology give you a baseline number, from there bonuses or penalties are applied for things like Selling, Charisma, Star Quality, Momentum, Gimmick. This number is then combined with Popularity based on the ratio laid out in your Product to give you the final number. That's how I understand it anyway. Teh_Showtime
When creating a Venue or Location in the editor what effect does the setting Importance have on the game? Importance is how much the AI will look to book it. Places like Korakuen Hall would have high importance, for example.
Owen Rey
It will usually depend on your product. Some products do not want matches longer than 15 minutes, and will sag your ratings. Other products do not want matches shorter than 5 minutes, shorter than 10, shorter than 15, shorter than 20. So your individual product will determine how long a match must be. What matches matter? Someone, correct me if I am wrong! 1. Any match featuring a "Major Star" vs "Star" or higher. If you don't have any Stars or Major Stars, it would be the most important you do have. 2. Any main event match, title match, top storyline match. On your product screen, SCROLL DOWN all the way. Sometimes, the list isn't big enough for all the things a product does to you. And I have had to change products to be allowed to perform matches longer than 15 minutes. Understand all of this, mostly just saying why is it a part of the game. An opening match featuring a major star and 7 jobbers shouldn't be considered "important" yet the game considers it as such. No fan watches a New Japan show, sees CHAOS going up against Young Lions in the undercard and thinks it should go 20 minutes, yet that is a game mechanic due to the new product system. Vinsmoker
Having the red text pop up every match might be annoying, but the penalty associated with it is not. A x-man opening tag-team match against the Young Lions definitely shouldn't be seen as a proper usage for a Kazuchika Okada, for example. Plus the penalty isn't that big of a deal

In the latest patch it was changed so the penalty doesn't apply to tour shows. I think this makes sense because no tour show match is important so they shouldn't be getting penalties. But for example if that Okada vs. Young Lions match is at Dominion, the fans would probably be a little aggrieved that this is what Okada is doing at a huge show. Owen Rey
Having the red text pop up every match might be annoying, but the penalty associated with it is not. A x-man opening tag-team match against the Young Lions definitely shouldn't be seen as a proper usage for a Kazuchika Okada, for example. Plus the penalty isn't that big of a deal I'd argue it should be seen as proper usage of Okada for 90% of shows since he's used in undercard tags frequently in real life and nobody cares. The note is completely unrealistic and frankly it's immersion breaking, it has no basis in how real life promotions are booked. Unless it's a title match or a main event, there's no company where fans get upset about how a match went only 18 minutes. Yet it happens every time I book an undercard match in TEW 2020 with my current product. And I would just change the product... perhaps I should. But the rest of it is EXACTLY how I want to book. But customization of how to run a company wasn't prioritized this time around. To bring this back into a question: My question is, why does this penalty exist when it's realistic to any wrestling promotion

Vinsmoker
<p>Do you guys really think any of Okada's best performances happened in the multi-man tag matches? Because that's what we're talking about. A Yuji Nagata, for example, should not get that penalty in 2020, by working 10 minute undercard matches with Young Lions. Main Event, NJPW Ace Okada on the other hand? Definitely.</p>

Malioc
The bolded leads me to a follow-up question: What happens with this in, say, a mask vs. title match where the masked wrestler wins? (I've only ever run these matches in TEW16, and it's very different in 20.) Apuestas is not about a title, always about mask/hair. If you add the stipulation and have merely the title changed, it should get a penalty. In case you haven't decided the outcome, you should better leave the Apuesta setting out of the Prebooking. - You can still add it on the match day, in case you go through with the unmasking/hair loss. Malioc
Is there a way to create weekly events, that draw same attendence as yearly ones? It's kinda absurd, that Dev companies with full schedule do 2-3 events per week with over 100 automatically generated, while one weekly event draws maybe 10-20% of the annuallies. I'd rather have a nunbered weekly event than a chaotic schedule of yearly events. But the game seems to punish this. I've just realized I have no idea how to release a wrestler. I tried going to negotiate, but since they are still under exclusive written I'm blocked from there. So how do I let people go? Swipe one of the arrows above the Popularity section in the Roster screen. You see contract details there and can release workers. Is there any reason not to take steroids as the UC? It's not like there's a fear of untimely death. Would be a nice feature though. Your user char dies from taking too much "Hulkamania Vitamins". His younger brother User Char Jr. is taking over. DrRDuke
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I scanned the threads and didn't see it. My question is in regards to Dojo's. Does anyone have any insight as to the difference in quality wrestlers a Top of the Line Dojo produces versus the next highest level. I'm running ACPW and feel like the FA pool is starting to get smaller and there's more competition to sign quality wrestlers now (all my negotiations are being hijacked by other companies blowing me out of the water!) so I want to open a Dojo. I can afford the top of the line one, but it's a steep price at $1 mil plus $75 K per...so is it actually worth it? Or will the wrestlers I produce with the lower cost version still be quality and have the chance to be special? What about performance centers? Probably can't afford this route just yet, but again, I'm assuming at that price tag you're capable of churning out some real studs...and the 'send your guys to the PC to develop) sounds good too. Basically, what's the best way to go to develop wrestlers? Dojo? PC? Developmental Territory? Any insight and experience would be appreciated. I'll continue scouring the boards for info too. Cheers! Malioc
I'm not an expert, but I had the most expensive dojo/pc setup in my last game. All recruits in 2 years where at a level, where they needed years of work before they had real value for me. Also, they weren't loyal or true born. So I guess, other companies could sign them away just as easily as your targets. Again, my setup didn't generate any "instant" top talent, that could keep up with my other main roster workers. Just one former boxer, who had crappy skills but high popularity. To me a dojo is more about long-term and kinda a luxus project, when you have a LOT money. When the 1 Mio. is lot for you, I'd rather invest the money differently. E.g. by signing the few remaining top talent to written (10-year?) contracts. You can do that even with a small promotion. As for the Performance Center, it helps to train a small number of your wrestlers (incl. main roster) so they develop quicker. But it doesn't create new talent. Sounds like short of me kind of using the Dojo as a 'project' that might land me one top line guy (after a lot of work) it's probably worth it for me to go FA hunting and try to bring more ready made talent into the promotion. It was the plan for the first 5 years, and I've had some success...but ACPW has the Lightweight restriction, so outside of finding Middleweights who might consider dropping down, I'm realistically relegated to Lightweights only...and the guys who'd actually make am impact are costing a fortune. Talked a Mexican female lucha into working in Canada...offered her a pretty fair deal with a bit of a kicker...and CZCW offered her $100000+ per month. I had never seen an offer above the 70000 that CWA gave Kenny Callaway to steal him from me...so clearly the cost of doing business in 2025 is VERY high...and that's what made me consider a Dojo as an alternative to overpaying FA's. But there may not even be a guarantee that my Dojo will produce lightweights (unless there's an option for that...)...so, yeah, I think I'll probably save my money and consider a performance center down the line...like way down the line.
