General Gameplay Questions Thread

Is it normal that when I sign wrestlers to an Exclusive Written deal, that they work out the entire remainder of their old Non-Exclusive Written deal?... its really frustrating, E.G. I signed Bandido away from IMPACT however as they're higher rated then I am he still works their shows over mine on his old Written Deal.

Double check that Bandido was signed to an EXCLUSIVE written deal and not just written. Sounds like that may be the issue you are having.

Can someone talk to me about Performance Centre vs sending guys away to a different fed for developmental?

I signed a bunch of young fellows to put in my performance centre but reached the limit of 14, so I struck a deal with another fed to send the additional people away to develop. Is there anything more to do with performance centre? They will just stay in there until I "promote them," slowly increasing their skills?

Which is better for skill development? Performance centre or using a different fed?

Lastly, I hate that my performance centre people are still available for main roster shows. Last night, I sent one to the fed I have the relationship with.... Is he wasting a spot in my performance centre now? Or will he double dip in development?

They work out in the PC while not busy on shows. I'm not sure how exactly this works mathematically, but unless the worker is disastrously bad/dangerous it makes sense they'd work and train.

Like how irl PC guys also work the NXT house show loop

Really dumb question here... is there a way to change the difficulty level?

Doing NXT...everything seemed to be going fine...I messed with popularity and momentum and then suddenly my ratings for all my matches started going down. Started saying all the matches have bad wrestling with little to no crowd interest....I thought I reset everything I had tinkered with but I must have missed something but its continued for a couple of weeks and USA dropped me lol

Just playing for fun and kind of hoping to make it easier.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions!

You know how when you took over a company and they become your child company but in tew 2016 you could go into relationships and let them go back to being their own company not owned by you. Is there a way to do this in tew 2020? I really just wanted to a clear a company’s debts cos I noted IRL they keep going a bit longer.

Ok, so I've got an excursion question.

I have several workers on my roster that I want to send on excursion to Japan (I'm an American company). I was able to send a few that were still on handshake deals, but the guys that I had signed to written deals are telling me that their monthly wages are too high for them to consider going on excursion.

Because I plan on operating my company like NJPW with young lions that I later send on excursion, should I ever sign them to written contracts? Or, if they're on an original written contract with 0 pop wages, will they be more apt to agree to excursions? A lot of the guys I'm trying to send now have popularity around 20 and written contracts that reflect that, so the contracts they're on now are considerably heftier than they'll get in Japan.

I think the issue is if you sign them initially to a long deal which would put their wages above what they should be pop wise.

You can still sign writtens, and shouldn’t have a problem with $2-3000 monthly workers going to Japan. The only time I ran into the wall was when I was paying Dreadnought 10,000. I don’t know how much your workers are making though.

<p>How do you guys manage your rosters??</p><p> </p><p>

I'm Playing CWA. Currently we only need 26 Wrestlers, Obviously I have 64. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<p>Tried searching for this but haven't had any luck.</p><p> </p><p>

I want to create a brand of nothing but tag teams. I want them to have their own A show. No PPVs, but they'll appear on the other two brands PPV's when possible just to get them on. </p><p> </p><p>

My question is will running a show that is all tag team matches result in a penalty? Because ideally that's what I'd like. Maybe one singles match a week, but that's it. It's all tag team focused.</p>

This was the answer I have become afraid of, lol. The financials aren’t going to be a huge issue for me, I don’t think. Just the setup. I think it’s going to be really difficult to manage, but I am going to try it...

So, to go from Medium -> Large promotions, you have to get a 77 in popularity. That means my cards have to get a consistent 77+ rating, right?

Because the only time I get in that range is during PPV blow-offs. Most of my weekly shows are mid 60s. (seems mostly due to inconsistency, wrongly anticipating crowd, and people just not having a high in-ring performance score.)

I know it depends on the product, but is there some guide that covers the basic principals of booking?

Any idea on what happens if you don’t hit the minimum number of episodes for an event? I have NBC for events but have never produced the minimum 12 events in a year they’ve requested but so far nothing’s happened.

Will I get a penalty?

It's a financial penalty, not sure if they will no longer negotiate with you in the future fora time.

Can someone help me clarify something on products? When it says “Matches won’t be able to achieve a world class score unless they’re 10/15/20 minutes long ,” what exactly is a world class score? Is it relative to the company size?

You can still have good matches in the 70-75 range. I just keep my main event (and usually one other match) at the 16-18-22 minute long.</p>

<p>I have a question about using Epic and Spectacle for Main Event matches, and setting them up properly. This is my normal formula leading into a main event:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Main Event</strong> (Spectacle/Epic)</p><p>

-90+ rated angle.</p><p>

<strong>Story Telling</strong></p><p>

-70 range rated angle</p><p>

<strong>Lift the crowd</strong></p><p>

-55 rated angle</p><p>

<strong>Calm the Crowd or Comedy (Is it just me or do they have same effect?)</strong></p><p>

-80 rated angle</p><p>

<strong>Steal The Show</strong></p><p> </p><p>

So, what I am doing to set up my Main Event is starting my endcard with Steal The Show, "Star" angle, Calm/Comedy, "Recognizable" angle, Lift Crowd, "Star" angle, Story Telling, Major Star angle, Main Event.</p><p> </p><p>

How could I move this around to get better ratings? I believe I don't really understand when to use these aims (and Technical Masterclass), and specifically - what aim to use BEFORE technical/spectacle/epic. I am blaming myself for not understanding the game, and would like to get better at this fault of mine. I've always struggled with using Spectacle and Epic and Masterclass aims.</p><p> </p><p>

My old formula for the end-card just went:</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event Steal The Show</p><p>

-90 Angle</p><p>

Story Telling</p><p>

-90 Angle</p><p>

Calm Crowd</p><p>

-55-70 Angle</p><p>

Steal The Show</p><p>

...</p><p>

...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

And I would just set that up to rinse/repeat the entire card. So, I would open with a major star angle, straight to Steal The Show, then calm the crowd, story telling, regular, steal the show, calm the crowd - and pop in high rated angles after everything EXCEPT calm the crowd, where I follow with an angle for my Recognizable and Unrecognizable workers.</p><p> </p><p>

So, any advice, folks?</p><p> </p><p>

What is the most optimal means to set up a Masterclass, Spectacle, or Epic in the main event? Better yet, where are these matches best used on the card? Should I just give up on main eventing these matches and look for other areas in the card to use them?</p>

I think of the crowd heat as 0/+1/+2. It goes up 1 whenever you see "...made the crowd hotter" note in the report, which is pretty much any strong match/angle that doesn't have an aim specifically to do something else to the crowd. There's also a negative state, but it's pretty easy to avoid so I've not really gotten a hang of it, but if you have a complete bomb of a match that kills the crowd, you want to use Lift as a match aim to get out of it.

Pretty much every match gets a bonus for crowd heat, so something exciting like Steal the Show/Wild Brawl/Car Crash/High Spots will all do the best they can at +2.

Comedy/Eye Candy/Calm all drop the heat back to 0, so you should use them right after the exciting match to start the cycle over (you can do other stuff between the two, but not another exciting match).

Technical/Spectacle (and maybe Epic, I've never tried it) are ideal at +1 so it fits best as either the second segment of the show, or the second segment after the reset. I think they work okay at 0, but they benefit from a little bit of crowd heat.

Storytelling is unique in that it's essentially just the same as Regular, but with a different calculation structure and lower stamina requirements. It gets a bonus from crowd heat and will raise it if the match is good.

There are lots of ways to get to the same points and the show length and product requirements will strongly influence the best path for you, but an example show structure that would set up the ideal conditions for a Spectacle main event might be:

- Spectacle (Main Event)

- Hot angle (to +1)

- Calm the Crowd (Back to 0)

- Post-match angle (capitalize on the heat one more time))

- Steal the Show (Buzzing)

- Angle (to +2 if it's good)

- Story Telling (to +2 if it's good)

- Angle (to +2 if it's good)

- Regular/Work the Crowd (0 -> +1)

This sounds a lot like a Thread I saw on here about crowd Management. It had picture but the never understood how hot the Crowd could get before burning out.

So the there are only 2 levels right, How long can they stay at Level 2?
