TEW 2020 Small Questions Thread

Recommended Posts

How do I turn people with an angle without a gimmick change? I thought it was a bug that I couldn't just click 'handle turns' but there's apparently an attached road agent note but I don't know how to implement it.

Edit; Nevermind I just saw the 'road agent notes' in the UI.

<p>I'm running Stardom, 2 years into the game. And for some reason almost everybody on my roster is using steroids. I already removed that attribute from theirs and advanced like 2 weeks and its back again. I'll remove it and start testing to see it solves the problem. I looked at all the workers in the game world and like 5 people on the entire database that are not from Stardom use them. So there's a problem somewhere.</p><p> </p><p>

Edit: I realized this happens because i checked the "dirty" doctor checkmark on the backstage rules <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I would think it would be more about the match types it demands. For instance:

TCW uses Classic Southern Rasslin'. That Product means you have to have a Wild Brawl on each show. So having a good amount of guys on the midcard and lower card with high enough brawling to make the match good would be a huge benefit. You're going to need at least 30 (4 TV shows per month, 1 PPV, multiply by 6) of those matches in a 6 month period with no more than 3 instances of the same match. More if you opt for more TV, 54 for 2 TV per week. The story Telling requirement has no demands on any kind of style. It might actually work better with a Brawler vs. a Technician, i.e. who can wrestle the match their way more often.

CZCW uses Fast and Furious. That requires a Steal the Show match. It really doesn't require any one kind of wrestling style as long as the workers go all-out. I would assume given the description you would want Aerial, but it won't affect anything negatively if you don't have it. They have enough Brawlers around, with their Brawling score reflecting (to me) how exciting they can make a brawl, same for Tech, etc. Only thing you have to watch is when it says "Hardcore skill is not used in match calculations." You might want to avoid guys whose highest skill is Hardcore.

A worker isn't going to decline a Medium sized promotion's TV show to work on a Small company's event. The exceptions are of course owners and bookers, who will always prioritize their own promotion's shows.</p>

You have to be medium sized at a minimum. They have to be available to work in your home area. And you have to have a minimum of Medium broadcasting coverage over said home area. I would guess prestige and momentum would factor in as well but that's not what I focused on.

Basically, no one's going to drop what they're doing to come work for your YouTube championship wrestling company.

I'm currently having an issue with this. I'm trying to coax Bryan Holmes off of hiatus in late 2011 of the Cverse 2005 mod. I'm a Big company with Big broadcasting across USA, Medium across Canada and Big across Mexico. My prestige is at 81% and momentum at 91%. I've offered him a contract of 350k per month WITH wage matching when the suggested value is 46k per month and he still refuses. Do you have any idea what else I would need to change?

Bonuses. Workers seem to value bonuses (per event as well as merch percentage) to a ridiculous level. Try offering 20% per event and 35% merch. Other than that, I have no idea.

I didn't know if I'm just overlooking it but is there still a way in the game to designate a promotion using the wrestlers' names as a tag team instead of one of the generated names or has that been removed?

For Example, the AI calling a team Cattley & The Architect instead of Subbacultcha (if they were a newly formed team during the gamer)

In a copied save I tried 1mil per month with 100% merch and event and still nothing :/ but I made a database from the save and found his hiatus is only another three months so I think I'll just wait ahaha

Matches against the guys who are in storylines that intersect with the storylines (heel run-ins after the match, or heel interference, etc. Or sometimes just matches that I think would be cool to see, or are checking to see how well they work together for a potential future storyline). Work on trying to build their momentum or their perception up so that I can use them in future storylines.</p>

Think of when WWE introduced the 24/7 title. The initial "challengers" were all people who weren't on TV or in storylines. The first few weeks of its existence was more of the same. People you didn't realize were still employed, "challenging" for that title. You don't have to create a title, you can just have the people that aren't doing anything do something together which could lead to them doing something later.</p><p> </p><p> At Large, I run a regular, non-televised (for now) show on Saturday Week 3 in the ghost town places you need to raise to get to Titanic (Tasmania, Wales, The Maritimes, Hawaii, etc) and that's where I use those workers. Handful of matches, a few promos hyping the matches, couple promos for the major storylines, and job done.</p>

In 2016 workers learned more from a match if the match was 8 minutes and he or she was working with someone more talented than them. With the new learning system, is that still the case in 2020? I keep wanting to set my matches at 8+ minutes, but if I can get away with shorter matches, I can fit more angles in my SE company.

If they are useful, but not top level, I find them guys with great tag team chemistry.

Or I create stables, so they can be involved as side characters of your main SLs.

I ran into a problem regarding momentum of Tag Teams. Guys of the same team have very different momentum. one being hot and the other being cold.

Trying to let the cold guy make the pins doesnt change much yet so any idea on how to get them on a similar level?

(they only compete in tag matches and are my current tag champs)

I would check on the gimmick ratings of both guys, as a failed gimmick can keep someone's momentum from getting too hot. You may need to assign a new gimmick to the struggling worker.

I can see this as a problem in one of my teams but in another the guy with cold momentum has a legendary gimmick and gets all the Ws for the duo

The one major downside of drip feeding is that it obfuscates worker improvement rates. Truth is, we don't know and it's a pain in the arse to test it (even for idiots like me). I've just stuck to my same old formula of 9, 14-16, 19+ for match lengths. That's unimportant/recognizable, well-known/star, and star-major star, respectively. Those are the match lengths I've used. If you keep your developing workers constantly working with people better than they are, their drip feed will stay maxed out.

Depends on how they're used. I use most of my tag teams as 'Units' with a handful of Permanent Units (Lilly & Rose, The Bombshells, The Uprising, etc). If you're setting them as Units and then expecting the person who got the pin to somehow come out looking better, you're doing it wrong. Set them as Individuals in that case so the person getting the pinfall gets more of a rub than his partner.

But my tag teams are all 'Hot' or better because I use them as Units and in angles together. They do everything (onscreen) together.

They are set as individuals (Fame&Money in SWF) and I only use them together

So I have a worker who has the trait 100%babyface. I hired her and did not realize at the time that she had that trait so I hired her as a heel. Her gimmick has actually gotten a great rating and she is improving at it and being a heel. So I have the chance to turn her face now and am considering it, but my question is, if she is doing well as a heel, is there a reasonable chance that she may be able to get rid of the 100%babyface trait?

I ask because she still gets marked down in every match or angle. Just want to know if I should just turn her face or hold out hope that her great performances might allow her to be a heel?

Thanks in advance.
