Toku Kijmuta - Bam Bam Kijmuta (Simply using her nickname instead of the first name)

 

Regular Joe - Joe Benning (Never liked the Regular Joe name so just went with his natural name)

 

High Flying Hawiian - Dante Kai

Reason I gave for the change: I joined him up with Bret Starr & Platinum XCX in The Rat Pack! Hernandez made the change because in kayfabe he revealed he had Columbian roots & he began this gimmick where he was co-leader of The Rat Pack with Starr but Alejandro was the guy pulling the strings of The Rat Pack from behind the scenes, not wrestling as much as Starr & XCX!

 

- James Prudence = Platinum XCX!

 

Reason I gave for the change: I wanted his name to be platinum something & XCX sounded good lmao.

 

- Joey Morgan = Joey Supreme!

 

Reason I gave for the change: I have this gimmick in mind where Joey as a face comes out and is basically like ''I am Supreme, Joey is Supreme! I will fight for the fans and rep Supreme!'' he is basically like early 2000s ignorant heel Kurt Angle! He thinks he is doing right but the fans hopefully start to turn on him, I already had The Crippler beat him down lmao! Eventually, he will turn full heel and embrace the cocky ''Supreme is Joey & Joey is Supreme asshole heel shit!

 

- Ernest Youngman = Angel Gonzalez!

 

Reason I gave for change: I legit just looked at him and that was the first name that came to mind, I have no idea why hahaha I just felt like he looked like he would suit that name!

 

Also, I wanna change the name of The Rat Pack but haven’t decided yet!

I keep mine pretty basic unless someone has just a terrible name. Typically I do things like remove the "Newton" from Davis Wayne Newton or the "Ernest" from Ernest Youngman so they're just Davis Wayne and Youngman.

 

Previous versions I've done things like give wrestlers masks and rename them, like Garry the Entertainer becoming Black Cat and Marcel LeFleur becoming Black Cobra II. I used to rename the Bumfholes Randy and Zimmy Quarry as their "real" name in order to lose the Bumfhole and push them as main event talents, but that doesn't seem totally necessary this time around. I'm not in love with Randy Unleashed or ZWB as names, though, so I might have Randy become "The Unleashed" Randy Quarry and just call Zimmy, well, Zimmy if I ever choose to run and SWF game.

Otherwise I only tend to change names if there's too much overlap with other shared names on my roster, shortenings, or renames of gens.</p><p> </p><p>

I've called Ant-Man, Anthony Heizenger, which is from his ring name and real name (Johnny Heizenger), since I had other Johnnys/Johns.</p><p> </p><p>

Erik Strong became Erik Masterson, as I had Alicia Strong on the roster and didn't want to draw an association.</p><p> </p><p>

I started to dub Steven Parker as The Future after a bit, partially storyline, partially Steve saturation (I had four Steves on the roster at one point!)</p><p> </p><p>

But yeah, it's mostly gens otherwise as some of the generated names just have no snap.</p>

I rename people constantly. Gidayu Katou is Takeda Temko to me for no reason. Haha people with terrible names or characters I am unfamiliar with get a name I come up with on the spot (and usually leads to a couple name changes until I find the character I wanna roll with)

In my original TCW game from literally over a decade ago I had signed the Cannonball Kid. That was considered his SWF name at the time and this was a diary so I was taking things like that more seriously than usual. So I needed to give him a new name. I wanted to take from his real name, which is Sam Pratt. But I also wanted to keep a little taste of his former ringname to give him that tinge of recognition. My mom's old family name was actually Cannon, so I'm accustomed to it as a last name and it seemed like a good one for a wrestler. But since I had both Sam Keith and Sammy Bach in big roles on that same roster, that left him to become Samuel Cannon.

 

I did something similar with Huey Cannonball when I signed him as CZCW in TEW 2016, changing his name to Hugh Cannon.

 

 

P.S. A little off topic, but am I the only one who's always thought that "Davis Wayne Newton" sounds like the name of a redneck serial killer?

I usually only change names when it's absolutely necessary and almost never in radical fashion. I don't like the idea of owning workers (gee, I wonder why) so I typically let them keep their indy/established names. Like when I have several people with the same or similar first name (Emma Chase/Evans/May; Emmy) or to more easily align them with someone (Sweet Tabitha becomes Tabitha Sweetheart when she manages Danielle). In 16, I changed Emma Evans to EF Evans (because when she talks, people listen - a reference most people won't get). When I sign Katherine Goodlooks, I use her real name and repackage her as a submission specialist.

I signed Josh Jacobs to CZCW in a new save. I put him under a mask and renamed him Europa to get that Josh Jacobs stink off of him. The idea is that Europa is an icy moon that rapidly orbits Jupiter; and due to the constant strain of expanding and retracting, it has a warm and perhaps lively worldwide ocean underneath. That's how I see Josh Jacobs. He's a good hand if you get past the obvious limitations.

 

And in a company that needs people to go all-out when asked to, his "Dynamo" attribute was attractive to me.
