AEW DYNAMITE

WEDNESDAY WEEK 4, NOVEMBER 2021

AEW DARK: ELEVATION

1. Riho def. Killer Kelly

2. Wardlow def. Brock Anderson

3. Orange Cassidy def. Luther

4. Frankie Kazarian def. Michael Nakazawa

5. Jade Cargill def. Julia Hart

6. Private Party def. Bear Country

1. Christian Cage def. QT Marshall - A quick opener that saw Christian come out on top. Jurassic Express kept the Factory at bay, with Ogogo and Luchasaurus specifically staring each other down before their match later tonight.

Jim Ross had his first of three sit down interviews tonight, this one with CM Punk. They quickly recapped Punk's tenure in AEW, from his victory over Darby Allin on the first AEW Rampage to now. Punk said that coming to AEW has shown him that professional wrestling still exists on a major scale in America. They talked about Punk's upcoming match with MJF at Full Gear, to which Punk said that while Darby reminds him of a younger Punk, MJF reminds him of a younger Miz.

2. Kris Statlander def. The Bunny - The Alien showed an edgier side as she took care of the Bunny.

We received another promo package from PAC, this one much darker. He promised to be unrelenting, undying, and ungovernable against Andrade El Idolo at Full Gear.

3. Jeff Cobb def. Dante Martin - Dante was a perfect opponent for Jeff Cobb, as the big guy threw him around with ease.

With the rest of Team Taz at the announce booth, Brian Cage came through the crowd and ambushed Cobb to huge applause. He quickly hit Cobb with a powerbomb and left the same way he came before Team Taz could reach the ring. Afterward, Tony Schiavone stood up and announced that at Full Gear, there will be a championship unification bout: TNT Champion Eddie Kingston versus FTW Champion Ricky Starks! Taz was very upset, claiming that the FTW title is unsanctioned.

In the second sit-down interview, Jim Ross interviewed Ruby Soho. Ruby, like Punk, talked about her short time in All Elite Wrestling. She said she is the happiest she has ever been, and come Full Gear, she will take the AEW Women's World title from Britt Baker.

4. Anthony Ogogo def. Luchasaurus - With Christian Cage and QT Marshall still recovering from their match earlier, this left the Factory with Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto at ringside to face off with Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt. Comoroto destroyed Stunt and kept Jungle Boy at bay as Ogogo knocked out Luchasaurus with three hard punches to the mask.

Backstage with Tony Schiavone, the Young Bucks said that they will take on and defeat Cody & Dustin Rhodes at Full Gear, just like they did two years ago at Fight for the Fallen. The Brotherhood will fall to the top brothers in AEW: Matt and Nick Jackson.

In a separate area backstage, Chris Jericho stood with the Inner Circle. He said that his brothers in arms, Santana and Ortiz, will successfully defend their titles against FTR at the PPV. Santana said that now that they got these belts, there is nothing that can take them away.

5. CM Punk def. Shawn Spears - Amazingly, Punk KO'd Spears with a Go To Sleep in twelve seconds. The quickest match in AEW history.

Kenny Omega came to the ring for a promo. He said that in his time away, he realized that he had lost his way, despite being AEW champion for so long. He was so worried about staying on top, sticking with Don Callis and keeping the Bucks at his side that he forgot what made him Kenny Omega in the first place: the love from the audience. He said that he knows what it feels like to be on top of the mountain in AEW, and what it feels like to fall from grace. At AEW Full Gear, he will end his losing streak by taking on and defeating Adam Cole! This prompted Cole to come out onto the ramp. He said that it is too late, Kenny's spot has been taken by Cole and there is no longer a need for Kenny in AEW. After some bickering, Kenny said that this Saturday, the true Kenny Omega returns.

In the last of Jim Ross's sit down interviews, he spoke with AEW World Champion Hangman Page and Bryan Danielson. There was major tension and it was clear the two were close to coming to blows on at least two occasions. They recapped their feud and reiterated the barbs they threw at each other in the past few weeks. Danielson ended the segment by saying that Hangman is lucky to be champion. He got over on a catchphrase and was propped up by the Elite. Now the catchphrase has been beaten into the ground and the Elite are no longer by his side. So what happens after this Saturday, when he loses the AEW title?

The announce team ran down the card for this Friday's Rampage and then the entire card for Full Gear. This Friday, Lance Archer will face Wardlow in a hoss fight. Yuka Sakazaki will face Killer Kelly ahead of Yuka's trios match at Full Gear. And in the main event, the Best Friends trio of Chuck Taylor, Trent and Orange Cassidy will face Daniel Garcia and the Men of the Year. And this Saturday at AEW Full Gear: the Buy In features three matches: Brian Cage vs. Jeff Cobb, Orange Cassidy vs. Ethan Page, and Joshi Lightning Squad (Riho/Shida/Sakazaki) vs. Donna del Mondo (Giulia/Syuri/Himeka). And on the main show, AEW World Champion Hangman Page defends his title against Bryan Danielson. CM Punk and MJF meet in a dream match. TNT Champion Eddie Kingston faces FTW Champion Ricky Starks in a unification match. NWA World Women's Champion Thunder Rosa defends her title against Impact Wrestling's Jordynne Grace. FTR challenges AEW World Tag Team Champions Santana & Ortiz. PAC and Andrade El Idolo finish their grudge. Kenny Omega looks to get back into form as he faces Adam Cole in Cole's AEW debut match. The Young Bucks face the Brotherhood, Cody & Dustin Rhodes. NJPW's Hiroshi Tanahashi smashes through the Forbidden Door to challenge Jon Moxley for Mox's IWGP United States Championship. AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker faces her toughest opponent yet in Ruby Soho. And Tony Khan has a special announcement regarding AEW programming!

6. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Juice Robinson def. Darby Allin & Lance Archer - In one of the biggest interpromotional matches in years, the NJPW duo defeated the AEW duo in a twenty minute barnburner. Darby and Juice had clear chemistry as Tanahashi and Archer went at it as well. The finish came when Tanahashi hit two High Fly Flow's to Archer's back for the three count.

IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley's music hit and he came to the ring to square off with the Ace of the Universe. Moxley grabbed the back Tanahashi's neck and wound up for a hard forearm shot, which Tanahashi happily responded to with a forearm of his own. They threw shots at one another faster and faster until both men dropped to their knees. They stared at each other as the go-home Dynamite went off the air.

RESULTS

1. Christian Cage def. QT Marshall

2. Kris Statlander def. The Bunny

3. Jeff Cobb def. Dante Martin

4. Anthony Ogogo def. Luchasaurus

5. CM Punk def. Shawn Spears

6. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Juice Robinson def. Darby Allin & Lance Archer

A hype video played for AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page vs. Bryan Danielson at Full Gear.

AEW FULL GEAR

SATURDAY WEEK 4, NOVEMBER 2021

AEW FULL GEAR: BUY IN

1. Jeff Cobb def. Brian Cage

2. Joshi Lightning Squad (Riho & Hikaru Shida & Yuka Sakazaki) def. Donna del Mondo (Giulia & Syuri & Himeka)

3. Orange Cassidy def. Ethan Page

iRodGC6.jpgcmySoU5.jpg VS. xYva7zr.jpgqF4nG0n.jpg

1. The Young Bucks def. The Brotherhood - In what many would consider the best PPV opener in AEW history, the Bucks came out on top in a battle between two families. Cody & Dustin attempted to keep the Bucks grounded, but the high-flying brothers found ways to counter the old-school brothers offense, leading to a fantastic clash of styles. A Meltzer Driver to Dustin ended the contest at just over fifteen minutes.

2. TNT CHAMPIONSHIP & FTW CHAMPIONSHIP UNIFICATION: Eddie Kingston © def. Ricky Starks © - And just like that, the FTW title is no more! Despite the interference from Team Taz, King was able to come out on top and unify the championships after a backdrop driver and spinning backfist.

YBvG8iV.jpg VS. 3Uq2GTV.jpg

3. PAC def. Andrade El Idolo - In a show-stealing encounter, The Bastard defeated Andrade El Idolo in an insane match. Andrade looked to have the match won after a trio of Fisherman's Busters, but PAC kicked out and mounted a comeback that ended with a Red Arrow and a Brutalizer, from which Andrade passed out.

Tony Schiavone entered the ring for the special announcement regarding AEW programming. The other announcers noted that at the last pay per view, AEW Rampage was announced, so they were looking forward to this one. Tony Schiavone said that starting next year, 2022, All Elite Wrestling will be presenting quarterly specials on TNT. The four shows will fall under the name of "AEW SuperBrawl" and will feature supercards consisting of championship matches and other important matchups. The first quarterly special will take place on Saturday Week 2, January 2022, and will emanate from the London! AEW is finally heading to the United Kingdom. Titled "AEW SuperBrawl: UK Classic," the main event of the show will be the culmination of a sixteen-team trios tournament to crown the first ever AEW World Trios Champions! The tournament will start Friday on AEW Rampage, and the bracket will be released on Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.

4. NWA WORLD WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP: Thunder Rosa © def. Jordynne Grace - Impact's Jordynne Grace fell to AEW's Thunder Rosa, keeping the NWA World Women's title on an AEW talent. Thunder Rosa was incredibly over with the live crowd, getting some of the largest reactions of the night.

5. AEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: FTR def. Santana & Ortiz © - The first ever two-time AEW World Tag Team Champions were crowned as FTR took on and defeated Santana & Ortiz. The two teams' factions have been at war all year, and continued here at Full Gear. A well-time hidden chair shot from Shawn Spears to Ortiz allowed the challengers to hit a Big Rig for the victory.

Remi431.jpg

1zJ0GX1.jpg VS. 8QfD9Oq.jpg

6. IWGP UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP: Jon Moxley © def. Hiroshi Tanahashi - In a match that was a contender for match of the night, Jon Moxley retained the title over New Japan Pro Wrestling's Hiroshi Tanahashi, the Ace of the Universe. It was a very strong-style affair, a match that is not often seen on in a major American promotion. After two Death Riders (as the announcers called the move), Tanahashi stayed down and Moxley got the win. The two shook hands and Moxley bowed to Tana after the match.

Tanahashi left the ring and Moxley grabbed a microphone. He talked about holding a title for another company, and noted that he is damn proud to wrestle across the globe against the best in the world, regardless of affiliation. His last three victories have been over Minoru Suzuki (on Dynamite), Kazuchika Okada (at King of Pro Wrestling), and tonight against Tanahashi. As those words came out of his mouth, he was attacked from behind by…

eEUXes3.jpg

MIRO!

Miro returns to AEW after over a month away due to injury. His last appearance was a clean win over Cody Rhodes on AEW Rampage in November. Miro laid waste to Moxley and threw him around the ring for a few minutes. He grabbed the IWGP United States Championship and held it high in the air.

zEOpN4x.jpg VS. VvsL3wn.jpg

7. Adam Cole def. Kenny Omega - A highly anticipated match that was years in the making. The Young Bucks were ejected from ringside very shortly into the match after grabbing Kenny's leg. The two competitors went for over twenty minutes, hitting big move after big move. The finish came when Kenny had Cole on his shoulders for a One Winged Angel, but Cole slid off and chopped block the back of Kenny's knee. Cole then hit one Boom to the back of Kenny's head, then one more to the front and got the clean pinfall win over the former AEW World Champion.

The Young Bucks came back out and joined their Superkliq brother in a beatdown on Kenny Omega. The Bucks set Kenny up for a BTE Trigger, but then the lights went out…

KOTA IBUSHI!

Kota Ibushi appeared in the ring with a chair. Kenny's Golden Lover is here. Matt Jackson went at him first but quickly ate a kick to the jaw. Nick came at him next but Ibushi ducked and sent him over the top rope. Adam Cole and Kota Ibushi got into a staredown, and Cole struck him with a forearm. They went back and forth before Ibushi got the upper hand hit him enough times to drop Cole to a knee. He then grabbed one of his arms as Kenny staggered to his feet. Kenny stared at Ibushi and slowly grabbed the other arm. They both looked down at Cole and then outside the ring, where the Bucks stood dumbfounded. The Golden Lovers hit the Golden Trigger on Adam Cole! They then embraced in the ring to huge applause from the AEW crowd, who never forgot the Tale of the Golden Lovers.

OfhtojO.jpg VS. 2QfIcaw.jpg

8. MJF def. CM Punk - MJF's dream match has happened, and he is the victor. It was a struggle from bell to bell, as both men put everything on the line to come out on top. Punk even pulled out the Pepsi Plunge for the first time in over fifteen years, but landed on his knee in such a way that he could not make the cover for the win. MJF took advantage of this by staging a comeback that consisted of great wrestling, but also underhanded tactics such as a low blow and a solid shot with the Dynamite Diamond Ring, a move he followed up with a Heat Seeker for the victory. CM Punk's first loss in AEW comes at the hands of Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

Shawn Spears and Wardlow slid into the ring and joined MJF in a beatdown of Punk, but to his rescue came his brothers in Sting's Squadron, Darby Allin, Lance Archer and Sting himself! The trio forced the Pinnacle out of the ring and helped the dazed Punk to his feet.

9. AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Britt Baker © def. Ruby Soho - The doctor continued her reign as champion by defeating one of AEW's newest signees in Ruby Soho. It might have been the burnout of the crowd, or the bad chemistry between the two competitors, but the match fell apart halfway through. The crowd did pick up towards the end, as after a ref bump, a masked woman entered the ring…

CHELSEA GREEN!

Chelsea Green, former tag team partner of Britt Baker, debuted in AEW and hit Ruby with a steel pipe across the ribs. Once the referee came to, Ruby tapped out to a Lockjaw. Britt Baker and Chelsea Green stood tall with the AEW Women's World Championship.

10. AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Hangman Adam Page © def. Bryan Danielson - A true match of the year candidate. The Hangman proved his worth by defeating the man many consider the greatest wrestler who ever lived, the American Dragon Bryan Danielson. The highlight of the match was a moonsault attempt by Hangman that Danielson somehow reversed into a Cattle Mutilation, but the champion got out by working his way to the ropes. After a single Buckshot Lariat, Hangman pinned Danielson to retain the AEW World title, clean.

AEW Full Gear 2021 went off the air with Hangman Adam Page hoisting the world title to the sky as he soaked in the cheers from the crowd.

What a killer show!

First of all it's unreal how stacked your roster is althought you didn't even start with a current databse. Jeff Cobb in the prelims, yessir!

You did a "typical" AEW PPV here: Big surprises, big debuts and big matches. I really like the new additions to your roster, I don't like Grace's personality online but she could be a good muscle fit for your women roster, just like Chelsea. She's the perfect right hand to Britt though.

A six man tag title is a no brainer for a company with such a huge roster and with all their great talents. Can't wait to see some of those match ups.

no steve blackman, -5 stars

Maybe one day he can show Frankie Kazarian how to do be a real bounty hunter.

Really good show; I never even considered Ibushi as the debut, but I'm happy as hell to see it.

Ibushi is someone I was excited to bring in, and his role here is perfect IMO. He will be around for a long, long time!

342 of those Quote Tweets are from BOTS!

"An independent study has confirmed that much of the staunch anti-AEW online community aren’t real individuals, it’s a staff running thousands of accounts + an army of bots to signal boost them. Look closely, these aren’t real people. Who’d pay for such a *wildly* expensive thing?"

Jeff Cobb in Team Taz just makes sense to me. He was someone I pegged to be in this diary from the get go. Team Taz also has Jacob Fatu who went down with a Torn ACL from a Defy show so unfortunately he hasn't been around for a few months. In fact, once he came back he was hurt again, but we will see that in the future!

AEW's PPVs follow a formula but are so unique and captivating at the same time. You KNOW you will get a banger of a show, so that's the formula, but it seems like there are always a couple surprises minimum. That's what I try to emulate (and the next few PPVs are even better...).

AEW World Trios titles seem like a natural progression for the company. I'm not sure if they will ever introduce them IRL (I could see an annual trios tournament instead), but a perk of fantasy booking is that I can do it for them!

just caught up with this and that show was incredible! so many great things coming out of that! So many stories going forward and im really excited for the trios championship!

Really wanna start my own dynasty write-up but wanting to do a AEW/RoH and this one will just make mine look so bad with how great this is!

THIS IS AWESOME *CLAP CLAP*

Thank you friend, glad to see you back!! You're an OG follower of this :D

Do not hesitate to start your own project! In its current state, AEW can be taken a million different directions, and the addition of ROH makes it even better. I sorta wish I could restart from today, but where would the fun be in that?? We have Kota Ibushi!

All of the December shows, plus two weeks of January, will be recapped in a single post to get to the next big show: AEW SuperBrawl: UK Classic. The main event will be the finals of a tournament to crown the first ever AEW World Trios Champions.

Predictions are off the table for those 12 shows of course, but I still wanted to put out the bracket for the tournament to see if anyone can correctly predict the winners!

Feel free to bold the teams in the First Round, and then just bold the "Winner of #x" text for the rest.
