The first show in Pro Wrestling Rebellion history stars with local legend Ryan Doherty - the man being born in Minneapolis - introducing himself as the owner of the promotion firstly and then running down the tournament to crown the first ever Leader of the Rebellion for the benefit of the fans in attendance.

"Never Too Soon" Jake Boone vs "The Bird of Prey" Tommy Clay

 

The first match in Rebellion history was a lopsided affair with the far more experienced Jake Boone running the rule over his opponent. Getting little offence in, Tommy's biggest impact was being the most annoying version of himself he could be - running his mouth at the referees, the fans in attendance and Jake until Jake put him down for the three count with the Boonedock.

 

Jake Boone defeated Tommy Clay in 6:20 by pinfall with a Boonedock.

Making her way out first accompanied by her agent Richard Drake, Kelsey Gold looked set to advance in the tournament and seemingly overlooked her first round opponent. More used to playing a comedic general in AMAZON, Erin Ortega came into the tournament with a point to prove and quickly set to work forcing a retreat from Kelsey. A back and forth battle ensued with Erin narrowly taking the win after a Big Apple Slam.

Stomping his way to the ring without any music and pacing around the ring, Sam Bailey cut an intense figure from the off in his Rebellion debut. Mai-Li Kato was the exact opposite, bouncing around and interacting with the fans at ringside only to be cut off by the vicious veteran. Fighting her way back into the match, it seemed like Mai-Li was on the course for victory until Tommy Clay made his second appearance of the night...

 

 

...grabbing Mai-Li by the legs as she bounced off the ropes and distracting her just long enough for Sam Bailey to lock in the No Limit Sleeper for the submission victory.

 

Sam Bailey defeated Mai-Li Kato in 7:46 by submission with a No Limit Sleeper.

The biggest surprise of the night, Eddy Orion walked into the match with the goal of utter domination in mind. Not even giving Stanley a chance to break into the match, the match finished in under two minutes by way of Orion's Nebula Driver.

 

Eddy Orion defeated Stallion Stanley in 1:37 by pinfall with a Nebula Driver.

Beauregarde "The Bayou Brute" Jones vs Tony Chi

 

A battle of power vs speed brought the fans back from intermission as the Bayou Brute faced off against ex-PWI star Tony Chi. Taking control of the match early on, Beauregarde used his considerable weight and power advantage to throw Tony around the inside and outside of the ring and it looked like an upset was on the cards when Tony went down clutching his arm after an awkward throw into a crowd barrier. Fighting through the apparent injury, Chi's educated feet came to good use and put his opponent down for the three count with a Chi Kick Combo.

 

Tony Chi defeated Beauregarde Jones in 10:48 by pinfall with a Chi Kick Combo.

Coming into the match fresh off of losing his GWS Red Phoenix title to Alexander's best friend Trent Brooke, the brightly coloured Cíclope was in a foul mood and made sure to express it through his body language. Out to settle a score with the House of DRAGON, Cíclope and Alexander went toe to toe in a very exciting and even contest with Alexander tapping out to the Cíclope Clutch just after the ten minute mark to give Cíclope the win and a measure of revenge.

 

Cíclope defeated Alexander Ridgeway in 10:35 by submission with a Cíclope Clutch.

Diego Monterrey vs Maddox

 

An unknown quantity, the muscular Canadian known only as Maddox looked to cause an upset equal to his countryman Eddy Orion when he faced off against Diego Monterrey. Cutting a happier figure than he does down south with CLLM, Diego tried to engage his opponent in some light hearted shenanigans only to be met with a boot to the face. Taking Maddox more seriously from that moment on, the match was a back and forth bout. In the end, the Monterrey Wind Rush was too strong for Maddox to overcome with Diego advancing in the tournament.

 

Diego Monterrey defeated Maddox in 12:19 by pinfall with a Monterrey Wind Rush.

The most anticipated match of the night, Derek Grace and Kosmo Supreme didn't disappoint. Shaking hands at the start of the match, the match slowly turned into a battle of both men taking every shortcut in the book to get the win and go onto the next round of the tournament. Coming close with the Apocalypse Now, Derek Grace's undoing would come when he went for the move again. Eating nothing but mat after Kosmo rolled out the way, one Entering The Kosmos was all it took for Kosmo to advance to the next round and round out the final eight competitors vying to become the Leader of the Rebellion!

 

Kosmo Supreme defeated Derek Grace in 14:30 by pinfall with an Entering The Kosmos.
