I've never heard of Jessica Troy before and Sky Blue is a young woman who, like Brock Anderson and Lee Johnson, is far from a finished product. Looking good for the veterans here.

Right now Blake Christian is probably the best of the four, but he doesn't need to be pinned. I'm just going to guess Dante Leon, because I like him the most.

Tony's going to have blood on his hands for this.

Now this could go either way, but I have no use for Rhett Titus and I really like Bear Country. Sorry, Dalton (Castle).

 

4. Pure Rules: Josh Woods vs. Rust Taylor

Another one I'm on the fence about. My gut feeling favors Woods.

 

5. Willow Nightingale & Trish Adora vs. AQA & Mercedes Martinez

This comes down to what you have in mind for Mercedes Martinez before the undisputed title match. She obviously shouldn't lose here, but there might be time for another warm-up match against one of the other women. Gut feeling once again.

 

6. Dak Draper & Brian Johnson vs. The WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake)

As much as I love the pairing of Dak Draper and Brian Johnson, I just don't see them winning here.

 

7. ROH Pure Championship: Wheeler Yuta vs. Daniel Garcia

This could easily be the best match of the night. I'm sensing a title defense.

 

8. Lee Moriarty, Samoa Joe & Jonathan Gresham vs. Tracy Williams, Tony Deppen & Jay Lethal (w/Sonjay Dutt)

Hard to tip against this babyface team, but you could establish a challenger for Gresham's title right away with an upset. Knowing one or two things about your booking style, this might be exactly what you plan to do, so I'm going with the bad guys here.

Alex Zayne def. Dante Leon, Ninja Mack & Blake Christian (10:32)

We kicked-off the show with a typical ROH match type when four men met in a Four Corner Survival match. The rules are simple, the first fall wins the match! With these four guys in the match it was pretty clear that the fans in South Philadelphia saw most of them high in the air. Alex Zayne caught Dante Leon with a mid-air cutter and pinned him after a 630° Senton in front of the eyes of AEW star Joey Janela...

 

 

... and to the surprise of the crowd the "Bad Boy" made his way to the ring together with a mean & big looking dude who was recognized by ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni as Cezar Bononi. Janela stated that his AEW contract maybe in jeopardy but watching his friends fight in the opener can't be forbidden by the ulcer in Jacksonville. But his biggest interest in ROH is Minoru Suzuki, yes he knows that he couldn't beat him last year but this time he will.

 

 

Brian Cage w/ Tully Blanchard def. World Famous CB w/Eli Isom (0:32)

Poor Cheeseburger got battered in under a minute by the "Machine" Brian Cage and finally redeemed by the Drill Claw. What a demonstration of power of Tully Blanchard's newest acquisition.

 

 

Bear Country def. Dalton Castle & Rhett Titus (10:21)

Pretty hard times for the former TV champion Rhett Titus: The Foundation seems done, his title is gone and he's on a losing streak now. The size advantage of Bear Country was a game changer when they threw around Titus from the left to the right. A hot tag to Dalton Castle spilled over the momentum for a bit, but Bear Bronson threw Castle over the top rope into the fans and the former ROH World champion wasn't able to get back to the ring when Bear Country hit the Bear Bomb on Titus. Both men just don't get the result they desperately want to.

 

Pure Rules

 

 

Taylor Rust def. Josh Woods (14:45)

Interesting enough that these two gentleman never met in a ring before their match tonight. After having a short stint with WWE, Taylor Rust strengthened his pure wrestling skills and gave the former ROH Pure champion a hard time in this fight. Woods tried to beat Rust with his Gorilla Lock, but the latter used one ropebreak to survive. In the end it came down to both men only having one rope break remaining and to the surprise of the crowd Woods slapped the mat after getting caught in a Muta Lock.

 

 

Right before the intermission Ian Riccaboni stood in the ring to announce the upcoming ROH shows. In just two weeks from now Ring of Honor will come back to Illinois and Michigan for a whole weekend. "Motor City Madness" will be live at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan while "Vendetta" will be at the 115 Bourbon Street in Chicago, Illinois. Both shows will be live broadcasted at the Honor Club. Two ROH legends will be at the shows: Alex Shelley returns to his home state like Colt Cabana will do in Illinois!

 

Furthermore "Best In The World" will come back on June 11th out of Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts and this show will be live on FITE TV again!

 

 

Willow Nightingale & Trish Adora def. AQA & Mercedes Martinez (9:57)

With Deonna Purrazzo not around the target is on the back of Interim titleholder Mercedes Martinez. While Willow Nightingale wasn't succesful at Supercard of Honor, Trish Adora could be the next in line for an interim titleshot. Adora took AQA's head off with a devastating lariat for a big win.

 

The army veteran made it very clear that she's aiming to dethrone Mercedes Martinez, althought someone else wants a piece of the cake. This time the other half of the commentary team, Caprice Coleman, was faster and recognized the woman as Athena! A loud pop erupted when Athena stands in front of Mercedes Martinez

 

 

 

The WorkHorsemen def. Dak Draper & Brian Johnson (13:39)

A real technical affair between these four athletes. The team of Draper and Johnson teamed for he first time in their careers which caused some coordination problems particuarly when you face a well travelled team like the WorkHorsemen. Henry and Drake were the beneficiary of this situation, eliminating Draper from the competition and finishing Johnson with a Powerbomb-Diving Double Foot Stomp combination.

 

After their big statement JD Drake grabbed a microfon and started talking about FTR! Drake challenged the tag team champions to a match, if they're man enough to step foot into the ring with the WorkHorsemen they should call their buddy Tony Khan right away!

 

ROH Pure Championship

 

 

Wheeler Yuta def. Daniel Garcia (18:40)

It wasn't a surprise that both men wanted to hurt each other real bad. Yuta knows that he needed another statement to be fully accepted as the new Pure champion while Garcia's mission was to be a step higher than Yuta again. "Red Death" targeted Yuta's knee all along to damage the champion's sheer will while trying to lock-in the brutal sharpshooter he likes to do. Yuta used his first break just three minutes into the match while being in a rear naked choke, the signs were very bad for the champ.

 

But just like the last weeks, Yuta showed real fighting spirit and wrestled through his knee pain. He got a big nearfall after which Garcia needed the help of the rope to use another break. After breaking out of a piledriver by Garcia, Yuta hammered his opponent to sleep with devious elbow's to the neck and finishing off "Red Death" with the Yuta Lock for the first defense. After the match Yuta got on the mic to challenge Alex Shelley to a match at Motor City Madness.

 

 

Tracy Williams, Tony Deppen & Jay Lethal def. Lee Moriarty, Samoa Joe & Jonathan Gresham (21:37)

A match with a lot of history: Joe as Lethal's old mentor, Lethal as Gresham's old mentor and the latter two as former stablemates and friends and now enemies. Lethal wants to have a titleshot at Gresham's title, the challenge was accepted by "Octopus" at Supercard. The match had great sequences such as Joe and Lethal square off for the first time in twelve years.

 

You've got to be kidding me! It looked like Lee Moriarty got the upperhand over sleezeball Tony Deppen but unfortunately the former TV champion utilized an inattention of the AEW man to roll him up, surely with a grab on the tights, for the three count. Meanwhile Joe and Lethal fought in the crowd like mad mans. Deppen left the scene immediatly while Samoa Joe got massively pissed and poor Tracy Williams had to take the Muscle Buster to the delight of the crowd.

Big weekend ahead of us when Honor comes back to Michigan and Illinois for one show each: After thirteen years "Motor City Madness" makes it's comeback on the ROH schedule when Ring of Honor will go to the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn Michigan. Hometown hero Alex Shelley will face ROH Pure titleholder Wheeler Yuta in a Pure titlematch, Shelley finally wants to claim the Pure championship after a lifelong quest. Shelley was part of the inaugral Pure titlematch back in 2004, it could be his last chance to become the champion.

 

Just like a day prior another hometown hero will get his chance to become a ROH titleholder: Colt Cabana is going to face "Octopus" Jonathan Gresham at "Vendetta 3" in a ROH World championship match in front of his people. Bourbon Street will also see the comeback of The Bouncers against AEW's Nightmare Factory team Brock Anderson and Lee Johnson.

 

Four matches were confirmed for "Best In The World" so far! Challenges were made at "Honor Will Live On" and those matches were confirmed by Tony Khan on Twitter with Joey Janela versus Minoru Suzuki for the ROH World Television title, FTR has to defend their tag belts for the first time since winning against the WorkHorsemen and also after scoring a big pinfall last time Tony Deppen gets a shot at the ROH World title in Boston!

Hey man thanks for your feedback! Glad you liked that I have kept guys like Brian Johnson around. I like the new mix with recent contracted guys, some AEW dudes and fresh faces and I can say there will be more coming in over the next months (In-Game). There will be some smaller shows here and there which is obviously on purpose though.

It's going to be interesting to see how Brian Cage is used going forward, given that Gresham is the main champion.

 

I really like Josh Woods and Fred Yehi pairing from the second event. Woods is a beast, and I felt really bad that he wasn't given a chance under new management. To be frank, Yuta taking the title from him in the manner he did was very underwhelming, so I hope Josh bounces back soon. Yehi is cool too, so best of luck to them

It's never easy to lose in front of a hometown crowd but Alex Shelley did Michigan proud like always. The former ROH World Tag Team champion may have beat Yuta for the IWTV title last October, today it was all Yuta's ballgame. The ROH Pure titleholder was impressive out there and finished the decorated veteran with the Yuta Lock to lock in his second defense. Tomorrow the opponents will be partners when they face the team of Daniel Garcia and Jay Lethal in Chicago and speaking of Daniel Garcia, the AEW star came to the ring after the match to confront Yuta. The man from Buffalo did a cheapshot and suplexed Yuta down to the mat, Shelley made the save for the champion.

 

Joey Janela scored a win ins his debut match for Ring of Honor against former TV champion Rhett Titus. The "Bad Boy" lived up to his name when he rolled up Titus after a distraction of referee Todd Sinclair from Cezar Bononi. With another loss in his books, Rhett Titus was devastated and nearly crying while Dalton Castle left the ring after a soft slap on the back. Poor Rhett though!

 

It wasn't easy for Anthony Henry to go out one on one with Jay Lethal while his tag team partner JD Drake was at home injured. Just weeks before their big title match against FTR at "Best In The World", Drake needs to rest due to a minor injury he received at an AEW show. Henry went toe to toe with Lethal but couldn't get the job done. After the match Henry spoke about his departure with WWE, EVOLVE and his resurrection here at ROH and his dream to beat FTR!

 

It was announced that the next ROH shows will be Dissension in Dayton (Ohio), Undeniable in Atlantic City (New Jersey), the big comeback of the War of the Worlds show with New Japan Pro-Wrestling in Baltimore (Maryland) and Manhattan Mayhem in NYC!

ROH VENDETTA III

We all know Colt Cabana laughing and goofing around with fans and fellow wrestler but not today. The man of the Dark Order was fully aware of having a potential last world title match at his former home of Ring of Honor. Cabana showing a much more serious attitude and tried to hang with the "Octopus" on the mat and even got some cool stuff happening. But Gresham isn't our champion without a reason, the man from Atlanta worked over Cabana's arm a lot which was the perfect match plan as Cabana couldn't hit his Colt.45 on the champion. Just seconds after the twenty minute mark, Gresham locked in the Octopus Stretch for yet another defense.

 

It wasn't his weekend! After losing in front of his hometown people Alex Shelley was forced to tap to Garcia's rear naked choke, althought it looked very well for the dou of Yuta and Shelley in the first sequences. Lethal and Garcia couldn't get along that much despite their disposition while Yuta and Shelley had some sort of chemistry. Shelley was very grateful for the opportunity to be back in ROH for two dates and thanked the ROH faithful for their support. Interesting enough that Shelley announced he needs to get back to the future at some point.

 

Rhett Titus simply can't win at the moment! Josh Woods made him tap out while Dalton Castle snarled around. The "Peacock" can't be happy with Titus recent performance and on top of that his career went a bit downhill too so far.

 

Joey Janela might be the biggest douchebag out there! The "Bad Boy" came out to the

of ROH Hall of Famer CM Punk just to tease a visit of Chicago's own. The former WWN Champion made an offer to all guys in the opener to join him. Anyway, to the dissapointment of the crowd Janela even got the win over Dak Draper with a little bit help of his bouncer Cezar Bononi. Joey seemed to be ready for a meeting with Minoru Suzuki.

 

With yet another under five minutes victory, Brian Cage and Tully Blanchard asked for more competition. Blanchard stated that his client is still undefeated and needs someone better who isn't afraid to step foot into a ring with "The Machine". Best in the World sounds like the perfect place!
