BONUS: One of the matches is not taking place. Which one is it?

I will be running an every 3 month prediction game which should allow us to always culminate at WrestleMania. Of course, if that isn't the case I'll just postpone the ending of the leg that ends at WrestleMania. This one should last until the King of the Ring. Good luck!

Thank you for putting your predictions in, Puto! However, I must clarify - the bonus question is meant for matches that are confirmed already in the card. One of them will not be happening due to circumstances! I will allow you to edit your post for that question without a problem.

It seems there will be no more predictions unfortunately and I have the morning off, so let's put this bad boy up!

We open the Kickoff Show with the analyst panel of Renee Young alongside WWE Hall of Famers ''The Million Dollar Man'' Ted DiBiase and ''Rowdy'' Roddy Piper, and former WWE Champion JBL! Renee runs down the epic night we've got ahead of us, as the Izod Center continues filling in with fans. Renee laments the loss of Booker T's SHUCKY DUCKY QUACK QUACK segment of the panel, but says it's only because he will be on commentary tonight!

She asks each of her fellow analysts which match they're more excited for tonight. DiBiase says he's got a sleeper pick in Sin Cara vs. Alberto Del Rio, he's never seen a man with such cunning for business since himself such as Del Rio. And now, he had a chance to own the two biggest rivals of his career! Everybody's got a price, even those who oppose you. Piper picks Heath Slater vs. John Morrison, talking about how he's been itching to see that kid Slater get a beating, but he's not necessarily counting him out; the champion had that intelligence under pressure, and even if that led to mostly tainted title defenses, that greatly impressed Hot Rod. JBL says there are great matches a many tonight, but the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the WWE Championship has to be his most anticipated due to how long AJ Styles and Austin Aries have hated each other. Tonight, it all comes to a head.

G1qsRHus.jpg

Renee then welcomes Dolph Ziggler to the panel, and asks him if he is mentally prepared at all for tonight's match against Kofi Kingston. Dolph says it's been a tough year for him thus far, but Kofi doubting his true intentions had been the last straw. He knows he was a grade A asshole in the past, but he had never lied to Kofi about his intentions to hurt him whenever he did so. Tonight, he was going to hurt Kofi again, but this time it would be for his own good. He says he wouldn't allow the former Woods associates to grow any stronger, he knew Kofi was better than that. And after he took care of this, he would hunt the World Heavyweight Championship again.

Dungeon Match
Richie Steamboat vs. Tyson Kidd

The famed Hart family mansion had been abandoned by the family a year prior, but Tyson Kidd paid the one night rent himself in order to send him and young Richie Steamboat to the infamous, brutal, claustrophobia inducing Hart Dungeon. This is as pure a wrestling match as you can get, and Richie Steamboat impressed the audience by being able to hang with the former tag team and Cruiserweight Champion hold for hold. But Kidd was simply too accustomed to the environment, and he gathered every advantage possible once Richie started feeling winded from Kidd's masterful submission predicaments. In the end, Sharpshooter was enough for Richie to call it quits, but he shouldn't feel ashamed of his effort at all. (B; 10:25)

We return to the panel, and the crowd goes ballistic as Renee welcomes The Rock as their newest special guest! Renee says it had been a while before last Thursday, but the Sheriff of SmackDown had returned to a not so enviable position. Renee says chaos has reigned on SmackDown recently, if not the entire WWE programming, and the locker room is perhaps bracing for a ticking timebomb of sorts to go off. Rock says that The Rock recognizes how tough the situation is. The Rock says that The Rock took the job for one reason, and that was to implement Rocky's Law and allow everyone to lay the smackdown on SmackDown with no playing favorites. The Rock says everyone is equal under The Rock's watch, both when it comes to the rewards...and the punishment. The Rock says The Rock doesn't know what the damn hell the Starbucks frappe Power Ranger looking jabronis are planning, but that The Rock would be hard at work to prevent them from affecting The Rock's roster any further. The Rock promises that The Rock would unmask these men, sooner or later, with or without help. IF YA SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING.

Extreme Tag Team Turmoil

This was pandemonium from the very start, as Vitamin C kicked us off against The Gatebusters of Hawkins and Barreta. It was anything goes as advertised, and the cunning veterans were able to quickly eliminate their equally cocky opposition, thanks to a chair aided Codebreaker on Hawkins. The Deep Sea Alliance and The Hall of Pain both fell victims to Vitamin C as well, before Elijah Burke and Big E came down the ramp, and suddenly our first very competitive portion of this match was afoot. Though Jericho and Christian had the superior experience both as individuals and as a team, Big E was able to plow Christian through a table with a Big Ending from the top rope, ending the night for the former world champions. Next were the dysfunctional Alex Riley & Zack Ryder, who were easy pickings for Burke and Big E as the TV Champion finished Riley with Elijah Experience, much to the frustration of Courtney Taylor. A surprise arrived as Ryback and Sheamus were next, and the powerhouses were eventually able to isolate Burke and finish him with Brogue Kick and Shellshocked. JR asked how any team would be able to defeat these two, as they also took care of Alex Shelley & Shannon Moore. With only three teams left, it was time for the menacing duo of Harper and Rowan from The Wyatt Family. This was the most back and forth portion of the match, and the two behemoths were reeling multiple times courtesy of Ryback & Sheamus' big match experience. However, Bray Wyatt's description of his brothers proved astute, as the two regrouped and shockingly were able to eliminate the fan favorites with a Discus Clothesline by Harper on Ryback! After that, The Legionnaires were no match for them, and even though The KoW put up a terrific fight as the last team, no one was stopping the scary wave of momentum Harper and Rowan had embarked into, and a chair shot followed by another Discus Clothesline on Kassius spelled the end of this one. As the Izod Center is now packed, Good Ol' JR welcomes us to the fallout of WrestleMania, the one night of the year where there are no rules, only those of the Extreme type. Justin Roberts asks for a moment of silence as we have another 10 bell salute for the recently deceased Jerry ''The King'' Lawler, the event being dedicated in his honor. After the respects are paid, JR reminds us the 2014 Jerry Lawler King of the Ring bracket will be revealed tomorrow on Raw, and the tournament will begin 2 weeks after that. For now, it was time to get the action started on Extreme Rules!

oTyZTLrs.jpgPgYxjaZ.jpgzMWpmyWs.jpg

Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam

These two men were trending in completely different directions recently, as Cesaro had just achieved major success in his WrestleMania debut, while RVD was greatly struggling to keep any sort of positive momentum. Still, you can never count out The Whole F'n Show, and he indeed gave Cesaro a run for his money in a very competitive opening match that had the Izod Center on its feet. After RVD missed the Van Terminator, however, it all went south as Cesaro gained an ungodly amount of traction and had RVD on skates. RVD offered one last ditch attempt at a comeback, but went up for Five Star Frog Splash too soon, and Cesaro rose to his feet for a beautiful, impromptu Very European Uppercut that had the audience in awe, an easy pinfall on the knocked out RVD after that ensuing.

Renee Young welcomes Becky Lynch for an interview, and asks her for any final thoughts, maybe some butterflies in the stomach right before her hotly anticipated Steel Cage Submission match with Barbara Kelly. Becky says the time for words has passed, and the only thing she'll want to hear out of Barbara inside that ring will be her cry of pain when her arm is broken enough to the point of reaching her ass.

ZzpFU8Us.jpgPgYxjaZ.jpgvT881LBs.jpg

Steel Cage Match; Submissions Only
Barbara Kelly vs. Becky Lynch

The bad blood between these two was well documented, dating back to the Royal Rumble, where Becky had been part of the fracas that cost Barbara the Divas Championship. And this was no ordinary environment for the self centered Barbara Kelly, Becky Lynch having arranged for the stipulation in its entirety in order to ensure it would be just the two of them to settle the score for good. Even with all that in mind, you wouldn't be able to tell, as Barbara showcased her massive improvement from a year ago, using her lack of empathy for Becky to great lengths whenever the Lass Kicker would catch fire and corner her. Barbara was able to isolate Becky and ram her face first onto the cage multiple times, opening a gash in the Irishwoman's forehead that had the audience gasping. This seemed to be going sideways for Becky Lynch real fast, as Barbara looked to put her away with a crossface-like submission. However, Becky's last gasp pushed Barbara to the Cage herself, bringing by a stalemate that would be resolved when Barbara accidentally caught her arm on a cage hole, which had Becky licking her lips. A brutal, arm focused beating by Becky would ensue, which had her wishes of Barbara crying for mercy granted to her as some sort of sick, late Christmas present. In the end, Becky would pull Barbara's arm through the hole multiple times to ram her face onto the Cage as well, knocking her out long enough so that Becky could scale the Cage to the outside and lock in Disarmer with the aid of the Cage from there, and Barbara Kelly had to quickly submit, lest she'd risk losing her arm.

Bray Wyatt raves about the success his brothers Harper and Rowan had achieved as an unit earlier tonight, telling them his work was almost done; soon he'd join them once again for a more hands on approach to the cause, while he'd also find great joy in witnessing the conclusion of their own personal odyssey. He warns The Usos to savor their fruitless glory, for they were about to find out alongside him what exactly two individuals who felt no fear could do when given the keys to the city.

CM Punk & Curtis Axel vs. Drew McIntyre & Wade Barrett (w/Paul Heyman)

The former champions spent no time before getting this off to a quick start, hammering Punk with clubbing blows as they looked to isolate him and prove a point, much to the elation of Paul Heyman. They quickly learned that might have not been the best strategy, as the legendary former WWE Champion was able to knock Barrett out of the top turnbuckle porch and outwrestle McIntyre, before bringing in a fresh Axel who controlled the middle portion of the match against the more experienced duo. It seemed as if Punk and Axel would take this one away early, but Barrett and McIntyre still had the inherent size advantage that brought Axel's surge to a halt due to a boot to his stomach from the Chosen One. The two teams were then enthralled in a back and forth affair the rest of the way, before McIntyre got too cocky and decided not to pin CM Punk after Future Shock, instead hooking him up for a second one. Barrett blind tagged in from behind, and amidst protests from McIntyre as Barrett urged them to finish the job, Punk and Axel caught one final second wind, which concluded with Barrett in the GTS, a big win for two men who figure to be perennial world championship contenders over two of the more promising young stars in the company!

Rating: B+
Time: 18:42.

The celebration from Punk and Axel is cut short, as even though Barrett is out cold, McIntyre still has something to say. The Chosen One clobbers the former WWE Champion from behind, throwing him from one end of the ring to the other like a ragdoll, and jacking him with another Future Shock, as Axel is also easily disposed of due to the exhaustion. McIntyre, with Heyman intently watching his actions, shouts at Punk that they're not done just yet.

WWE Intercontinental Championship; Special Guest Referee: Cyndi Lauper
John Morrison vs. Heath Slater (w/Lacey Von Erich)

The often controversial, yet nonetheless impressive title reign of Heath Slater had perhaps never been in as much jeopardy as it was here. John Morrison took the fight to the Intercontinental Champion, his innovative parkour style being something Slater had never quite met one on one with such high stakes just yet, and so the challenger took the early advantage. However, even without Brad Maddox and with Lacey Von Erich seldom being able to give out an assist, courtesy of the other thirds of the Dirt Sheet trio and Cyndi Lauper, Heath Slater proved why he had reigned supreme with the prestigious Intercontinental Championship for more than half a year. He'd prove Roddy Piper right and utilize his instincts to just escape Moonlight Drive by forcing Morrison's own hand up his crotch. After that, it was the champion who slowed the pace down significantly, though that doesn't mean he didn't take to attempting high risk maneuvers himself, flying to the outside with a diving crossbody. As advertised, Cyndi Lauper officiated this one down the middle, not allowing her hatred for Slater to overtake her better judgment as it went neck and neck, wire to wire. Morrison would counter Smash Hit by holding the ropes, which Slater never saw, essentially pulling the chair on the champion as he fell back and neck first on the mat. This left Slater ripe for the taking, and as Starship Pain followed, so did a three count, and John Morrison had ended Heath Slater's time in the sun...at least for now.

Rating: B
Time: 16:45.

John Morrison hoists the Intercontinental Championship for the fourth time in his career after being handed it by Cyndi Lauper, who applauds the Every Night Delight's efforts. They're soon joined by United States Champion The Miz and the clearly wounded Becky Lynch, as JR reminds us that this is the second time these two friends have held those same individual championships at the same moment; Booker says that's true, but they weren't such good friends last time it happened, and now they might prove to be unstoppable, both part of his fave five! The Izod Center, meanwhile, goes wild for the new champion, all the while appreciating the effort given by a frustrated Heath Slater, who is joined by Maddox checking on him atop the stage. Lacey Von Erich is nowhere to be seen, as Cole sarcastically wonders why.

2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the WWE Championship
Austin Aries vs. AJ Styles

This was perhaps the most ancient out of all rivalries coming to a head tonight, and both men wanted the early mental advantage on the other by scoring a quick first fall. Still, the two were evenly matched at pretty much every aspect when it came to technical wrestling skill, delivering a masterpiece of a bout to a very appreciative Izod Center crowd. It would be Aries to poke AJ's eyes out in a blink and you'll miss it move that the referee Charles Robinson never saw, and Brainbuster scored the first fall of the match.

Aries 1-0 Styles

Sure enough, The Greatest Man That Ever Lived would take charge for the next immediate portion of the match, targeting AJ's legs as he hoped to make good on his promise to pin AJ in one fall and submit him in the other, obviously preparing the champion for Last Chancery. AJ offered brief comeback attempts, but his legs were starting to give in and it showed. Aries salivated over this major advantage he possessed, toying with AJ as he continuously punished his legs. However, as he finally looked for Last Chancery after having been methodical for so long, AJ surprised him with a quick small package, and the champion had evened things up at one apiece!

Aries 1-1 Styles

The fact remained that Aries had greatly limited AJ's usage of his vertical base, but now he looked to switch course out of pressure and to finish the match as quickly as possible so AJ would not have a chance to rally. He positioned AJ for a dangerous top rope Brainbuster, but right as AJ was positioned vertically, he would use his last ounce of strength to land awkwardly behind Aries, pulling his legs as both men fell, AJ due to his severely weakened legs. AJ would then crawl to the challenger's carcass, sensing he had no strength left to crawl to the ropes, and locked in Calf Killer! Though Aries fought like a madman, he had nowhere to go, and he tapped!

Rating: B+
Time: 22:24.

After an exhausted AJ Styles celebrates his hard fought victory amidst the tune of applause from the New Jersey crowd, we return to Justin Roberts in the ring for our next match.

Dolph Ziggler (w/Torrie Wilson) vs. Kofi Kingston

As Ziggler awaits for his opponent in Kofi Kingston, Kofi unusually takes a long while to appear. Ziggler raises his eyebrow, as this is clearly uncharacteristic of Kofi. Finally, someone comes out of the curtain...

The Pope, holding the TV Championship, comes out alongside Big E and...OH MY GOODNESS, THAT'S XAVIER WOODS! The former SmackDown General Manager who hasn't been seen since being removed from power back in December! The Pope says Ziggler's sins have caught up to him, and it was time he started his walk of atonement.

FROM BEHIND, TROUBLE IN PARADISE!

Kofi Kingston is joined by the three men in the ring, the audience still in shock over the return of the former general manager, now wearing a less formal attire than usual. Woods says the time for reckoning has begun. They all had been held back by different people and different motives, but now they'd finally united due to a common purpose. He says that these gentlemen beside him represent the best this business has to offer. The charisma of Elijah Burke, the presence of Big E, the unlimited wrestling skill of Kofi Kingston. All three men with untapped potential, they just needed a little push and incentive. With his brains, they would answer to no one anymore but themselves. A New Day was dawning upon the WWE, and once the smoke cleared, there would be no one left to oppose them.

Notes: This was an angle, so no match rating or time. Turn details will always be in the post-show notes.

Contracts on a Pole Match
Alberto Del Rio vs. Sin Cara

Alberto Del Rio sought to prove once and for all that he was superior to his archnemesis and in turn own him, and so he did not summon any of his Aristocracy cronies to join him at ringside for this one. This had pure, unadulterated hatred written all over it, as Cara and Del Rio were not interested in having a pure wrestling match, be it either Lucha Libre or WWE style; instead, they traded fists and clubbing blows, a style that greatly favored the taller Del Rio. Cara would still use his quickness to play defense and not allow the match to end whenever Del Rio would think it was over, leading to him deciding to put Cara out of his misery for good. After locking him in Cross Armbreaker, Del Rio looked to release him and climb to the win, but Cara held on to Del Rio's trunks with his unharmed arm. Del Rio looked to pull out, and ended up inadvertedly launching Cara onto the pole, and Cara capitalized with a reverse kick square to the face of Del Rio that knocked him out for enough time in order to unhook his and Rey Mysterio's contracts!

Rating: B-
Time: 7:59.

As Cara points to the iconic Rey Mysterio joining the scene at the stage, the sight he catches is that of a still very much dejected and unmasked Rey, who shakes his head and leaves. The commentary team is confused, wondering why even now that he was free to go from the clutches of Alberto Del Rio, Rey Mysterio still seemed to have lost his smile.

Back in the ring, here's Justin Roberts. The camera pans to the right side of the stage, where everything is set for the rare and merciless Buried Alive match. A cement truck is stationed nearby a large platform made of dirt, with a grave dug for the unlucky upcoming victim or victims of the devilish match. A shovel is stationed next to it.

Buried Alive Match
John Cena & The Undertaker vs. Sanctuary

This one was bowling shoe ugly from the very getgo, as the devious mind of Damien Sandow looked to put an early end to this by barking instructions to his three lackeys, who were able to use the numbers advantage early on inside the ring. However, as they gathered at the burial site, Undertaker's experience in this type of match barked louder, as he cracked Mason Ryan's skull open with the shovel, before he and Cena were able to overpower the smaller duo of Parker and Robinson. This left Damien Sandow completely defenseless, though he'd still have a trick up his sleeve as he tripped Undertaker onto the grave to an ugly thud. This left us with the WrestleMania rematch tantalizingly close to the grave, both men hanging by a thread, that is, until the rest of Sanctuary recovered. Cena was slowly but surely mugged by the four men, leading to each of them hitting their signature maneuvers on him, concluding with a Terminus on the dirt that knocked Cena out cold. Sanctuary would ditch Cena on top of Taker, and they started dropping the dirt on top of the two. Just as Sandow started to sing victory, however, the Undertaker's glove would rise, and so would the Phenom from the grave, choking both Parker and Robinson and sending them flying, back first onto the steel of the stage. Ryan offered an interesting power match, but he could not match Taker and was dropped with Tombstone Piledriver on the dirt. Sandow, his fate spelled out in front of him, would run away from Taker all over Izod Center, Undertaker calmly continuing to walk towards the hurting Sandow who could not outrun him for good. As they returned to the burial site, Sandow pleaded for mercy, but this time, John Cena had already risen from the grave as well, and he would drop Sandow inside of it with a thunderous AA, and as Undertaker raised his fist, the cement truck dropped everything on top of Sandow, this one is over!

Rating: B-
Time: 12:54.

The crowd is in audible shock, as per Undertaker's sheer will and brutality, Sanctuary's leader has been buried alive under dirt and cement! Serena's agonizing screams are heard for something to be done in order to save her master, as the other three are out like a light; nothing can be done. Taker gathers his strength again, before staring at John Cena, his intentions having already been revealed. Cena, in a significant deal of pain, extends his hand to The Phenom, a silent handshake being shared between the two icons. JR says that WrestleMania 31 would indeed be host to one legendary encounter, as John Cena had just under a year to continue his quest for redemption and get ready for his crack at ending the Streak in Santa Clara!

Falls Count Anywhere Elimination Match
Evolution vs. The Shield

There were jitters in the air as the crowd readied for this heated clash of youth vs. experience caused by The Shield's defiance towards Triple H's rule and the preferential treatment given to his friends, including but not limited to Orton and Batista. These six men wanted to batter each other senseless, and under the rules, they did all that and more. The chaos of the tornado tag team match scenario was amplified by how much action the crowd had to pay attention to, not a dull moment in sight as The Shield looked to stay together as much as possible, while Evolution sought to isolate a single member of their young opposition and get rid of that one person, rinse and repeat. For half an hour these two teams fought for their lives all over the Izod Center, including highlights such as an RKO off of the stage on Rollins that Randy Orton couldn't capitalize on immediately, Reigns leaping onto all five other men from the ring like he was superman, and Rollins doing him one better by diving onto his friends and foes from atop the large X on the Extreme Rules stage. After that, it would be Batista and Roman Reigns who would be the first two to gain their breath back, and they'd collide in a battle of the powerhouses that was back and forth. As Ambrose and Rollins successfully took Triple H and Orton out of the equation for the time being, they'd join their silent muscle in the ring, overwhelming Batista as all three pinned him following a brutal Triple Powerbomb on the stage.

BATISTA HAS BEEN ELIMINATED.

Orton had regained his conscience and barely couldn't make it in time to save Batista (though Booker sensed in Orton's eyes he wouldn't have saved him anyway), and as he gazed at the numbers disadvantage he would now have to face, Triple H would come from behind with an equalizer in the form of his signature sledgehammer.

Hunter swung wildly and blindly, hitting Roman Reigns first before Ambrose forcibly removed The Game's weapon of choice from his hands by hurling a chair at him. This portion of the match would be hotly contested, before Batista would return to the mix with chair shots to the backs of Ambrose and Rollins, JR shouting foul though the rules do state it's anything goes. Flair joins the trio as they return to the ring in order to teach The Shield a lesson, slapping heads and strutting around in disrespect, with the right to WOOs a plenty. As Flair kneeled to low blow Rollins, it would be a desperate counter that would have Rollins raise his lower body, causing Naitch to low blow Triple H instead! As The Game flailed around and fell to the outside, it was up to Batista and Orton to capitalize, but they were not on the same page either, as Batista would put his own partner out of commission with a Spear on accident! Back to the field would come Roman Reigns, one upping Batista with an earth shattering Spear of his own, howling as The Shield started to regain momentum. They would drag Orton outside of the ring, the Triple Powerbomb through the announce table being devastating, and it was now down to one final member of Evolution!

RANDY ORTON HAS BEEN ELIMINATED.

The Game, still in pain after the low blow, slowly gathers himself again, and as he takes a look at the dominance around him, comes to terms with the odds. He tries for one final signature flurry of punches and running knee jumps, even successfully connecting with a spinebuster on Rollins. However, as he punched Ambrose, the lunatic would headbutt The Game wildly to both men's detriment, and as Hunter rose to his feet one more time, he'd be met with Roman Reigns' Spear! The three members of The Shield again gathered for one triple teaming pinfall, and just like that, they had performed a clean sweep against one of the most dominant groups in wrestling history at Extreme Rules!

Rating: B+

After a lengthy, deserved celebration from The Shield, the ring would undergo a makeover for the first ever Shaq Fu match; JR details the history between these two men, that had started many years ago when Big Show first challenged the 4-time NBA champion to a match. They had finally met during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania, but now it was time they met one-on-one, under Shaq's rules.

3549.jpg

Justin Roberts is in the ring to introduce this unique match, attempting to do so with a straight face as the instructions have been given to him by a cackling Sir Charles Barkley.

''The following, is a Shaq Fu match! Now in this match, the rings will have no ropes as both men will contest under the techniques of the Shaq Fu martial art. Outside the ring, portable devices will keep track of each man's individual health bar with each signature Shaq Fu maneuver removing a designated amount of health from it. The only way to win is to make your opponent's health reach zero.''

At last, these two giants were set to square off one-on-one under the most unusual of circumstances. The weeks of training under Shaq Fu clearly paid off for Big Show, who stood toe to toe with the master of the technique as their health bars held equal footing the whole way through. The crowd was highly entertained by this attraction match, one of the best in Big Show's extensive list of participations. As Shaq looked to deliver one final blow, he prepared for it in a crane-like stance. That would be his undoing, whatever, as we found out real life Shaq wasn't his video game version, and he lost his balance entirely, leading to one authorative WMD from Big Show that depleted all that had been left of the Big Diesel's health bar.

Rating: B
Time: I didn't actually book a match here, but for comedy's sake let's say 4:20 :p

As Shaq takes a while to recover from the dreaded finishing blow by Big Show, the latter helps his longtime rival rise back to his feet, as the two embrace with a nice reception from the Izod Center. Shaq applauds Show, saying the student has beaten the master. He raises Show's hand high up, but...

NrVqgRus.jpg

''The Ravishing Russian'' Lana warns the two men of the impending danger coming their way, promoting the path of greatness and destruction that's been paved by her client, the supreme athlete and hero of the Russian Federation singlehandedly appointed by the great Vladimir Putin himself. The crowd boos as the picture of Putin is shown, as Lana orders them to shut up, or else Rusev will crush every single one of them...or at least, their puny American idols. She says that pathetic showing of a fake technique may have entertained all in attendance tonight, but Rusev had not been amused by anything that took place in the ring. She says Rusev would give the two troglodytes something to remember this night by, a true showing of true martial arts craftsmanship, courtesy of a man molded to be a human weapon that will bring by the Russian supremacy to the rest of the world...

TpSqFAIs.jpg

Rusev makes his way to the ring, flanked by Lana, as he meets the two towering giants right at the onset. Sir Charles attempts to jaw at the super athlete, but is held back by security. Undaunted by the size difference, Rusev headbutts Shaq, sending him flying to the outside. Big Show is more of a challenge as he initially blocks Rusev's attempts at offense, but one swift kick to the hip has Big Show reeling, and soon enough, Rusev has him down for The Accolade until Show can't answer any longer. Officials have a hard time removing Rusev from the top of Big Show, but as they finally do, the brute celebrates his statement, bringing a boom that lowers the Russian flag behind himself and Lana. The crowd rejects all this, but if this is any indication, Rusev's age of dominance has only just begun.

Extreme Rules Match for the WWE Divas Championship
Paige vs. Kaitlyn

Though Kaitlyn's reign had already reached a tier above all that came before it, this was her first major defense since aligning herself with Stephanie McMahon as her main ace of the women's division. Paige, one of the youngest competitors in the WWE today, looked to surprise the champion that had more time under her belt when it came to the big stage, yet had far less experience overall. The stipulation gave Paige the extra gear she needed in order to fully unlock the malice needed to match the champion's, and so it was, perhaps a title defense at the level of all the ones Kaitlyn had to endure against former best friend AJ Lee. Paige brought the house down by using everything at her disposal against the more physically imposing Kaitlyn, including at one point dropping the champion from the announce table to the floor with Paige Turner; Cole mentioned how if this were a Falls Count Anywhere match, Kaitlyn's reign would in all realms of possibility be over. However, Paige looked to add insult to injury, plastering the champion with chair shots and singapore cane swings instead of going for the finishing blow. She had one final devious idea in mind, gathering a steel wrench from under the ring and readying to use it on Kaitlyn's teeth, before the champion would at last overpower Paige and drive her onto the exposed steel of the turnbuckles. The Gutbuster-Spear combo that had vanquished many women before Paige would indeed do the same to the very game former NXT Women's Champion, who was right at home in only her second PPV match in the WWE; she just couldn't finish the job this time.

Notes: For anyone triggered by violent depictions of blood and/or teeth removal, this is a warning for the graphic post-match content below.

Stephanie joins her maimed champion in the ring, an overexcited celebration that brings by the disdain from the crowd. Kaitlyn, not done with making Paige suffer, gives her a taste of the medicine that the challenger intended to deliver, forcing her down on her back as Stephanie uses the wrench to remove one of her teeth, an ugly sight as blood spills due to the uncomfortable, forced removal. Kaitlyn and Stephanie then finally leave Paige in this very unfortunate situation, the EMTs tending to her immediately thereafter. Booker says that even with most fans and people in the locker room hating her, Kaitlyn had proven to be smarter than Paige here tonight by containing her own bloodlust until after the match had already been won. Cole wonders if there is any woman on the roster who's both good and resilient enough to overcome and overthrow Kaitlyn.

As the ring is finally cleared from the effects of the previous war, it is now time for our main event of the night. Justin Roberts handles its introductions.

''The following contest is a Bunkhouse Brawl, and it is for the World Heavyweight Championship! In this match, both men will be wearing bunkhouse gear and they will be trapped inside a special Steel Cage, with weapons hanging on top of it. You can only win by pinfall or submission.''

Bunkhouse Brawl for the World Heavyweight Championship
Cody Rhodes vs. Daniel Bryan

The two men had been two thirds of the previous month's main event at WrestleMania, where Daniel Bryan had performed the Miracle at Bourbon Street. Cody, a former champion in his own right, was now fully focused without the preoccupations of retiring a family member, and he brought his A game against the American Dragon. The two men wrestled one of the best matches of the still young year of 2014, with insane counters showing their familiarity to one another that had the crowd on its feet each and every single time. The weapons, of course, brought upon a whole new element to the match, with Cody deciding to use the Rhodes' trademark tire iron to his advantage, while Bryan preferred the approach of a Ladder, an unique weapon in the Steel Cage scenario that he could use to target any of Cody's extremities. After Cody controlled a good bunch of the middle portion of the match, Bryan looked to regain his own momentum, but he would be dropped from the top turnbuckle on his neck, greatly impairing the champion for the rest of the way. Cody then wrenched the tire iron around Bryan's neck, looking for a chokehold that would hopefully be enough to win it all, but the champion proved to be too stubborn for his own good, desperately kicking Cody in the head multiple times from his prone position. As Cody charged with Bryan once more, tire iron in hand, Bryan would sidestep the challenger, bringing Cody to collide with the cage, which would drop the Ladder straight on top of him, knocking both men out cold. It would be the energy of the Izod Center's YES Movement that would wake the champion first, and he fed off of the love to instinctively hit Busaiku Knee on Cody, though he was so spent, he couldn't go for the cover. This lull period would remain until both men slowly, but surely rose back to their feet in different corners.

A back and forth battle of blows would ensue, both men being fan favorites though the champion clearly had the higher amount of support, and as Cody hit one particularly stiff punch, Bryan would ricochet off the ropes for a flying forearm, before YES! Kicks brought the crowd to its apex. Bryan then looked for another Busaiku Knee, but he would be dropped by Cody this time. Cody would bash the champion in the face with the tire iron, knocking him out again. Cody was unable to immediately react to that, but eventually, he'd pick up Bryan for Cross Rhodes.

WHICH BRYAN WOULD COUNTER INTO YES LOCK!

WITH THE TIRE IRON ON CODY'S MOUTH!

Cody has absolutely nowhere to go, and even the usage of the ropes would be useless for him in this situation, so amidst agonizing screams of pain, the son of the son of a plumber cannot hold it any longer, and he concedes an all-time classic to Daniel Bryan, whose dreams are alive and well for another day!

Rating: A (93)
Time: 25:01.

Neither Daniel Bryan or Cody Rhodes can stand on their own two feet as the Bunkhouse Cage is raised, but Charles Robinson does drop the World Heavyweight Championship on top of the leader of the Yes Movement's carcass. The announcers talk about how hellacious this match, and this night in general were, and these two gladiators deserve nothing but respect from the fans. As Bryan is finally able to limp back to his feet, he slowly hops in a still downed Cody Rhodes' direction, hoping to show some respect and help his game challenger back to his own two feet.

''THE COSMIC KEY MUST BE RETRIEVED. NO ONE WILL SURVIVE. THE COSMOS ARE IN DANGER. THE COSMIC KEY MUST BE RETRIEVED.''

Almost as if in a trance, Cody Rhodes mutters these statements repeatedly as the champion finally locks eyes with him again, and he can only stare at Cody in great confusion. To make matters worse...

The Red, Green and Blue Stardusts are now suddenly all in the ring. Daniel Bryan cocks his fists, ready for a fight even in the incapacitated state he finds himself in. However, the Stardusts pay no attention to the champion whatsoever, instead carrying Cody Rhodes' lifeless body high up and out of the Izod Center while repeating everything the latter had said to Daniel Bryan. A bewildered Bryan's theme song plays again as the crowd tries to bring by one final celebration from him with YES! chants, but he resorts to resting in a seated position while refusing medical care, until JR signs us off and we fade to black.

WWE Monday Night Raw

Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio

Rating: B+

Dark Match: Corey Graves defeats Matt Taylor with Lucky 13. (D+)

''India''

AG5CVsDs.jpgdt78SrVs.jpgtydKXBMs.jpgfWxWKjUs.jpg

The show opens with Cole, Renee and Joey hyping the 2014 Jerry Lawler King of the Ring tournament that will begin in 2 weeks on Raw, before Evolution makes their way to the ring, all except for the Nature Boy looking worse for the wear after their war with The Shield at Extreme Rules the night prior. Hunter laments on how the previous night didn't go as planned, but that The Shield were only delaying the inevitable; he had a plan and it would be executed sooner or later. He says that in three weeks, the two factions would meet once again in Chicago at Over the Limit.

This brings Batista to raise an eyebrow and forcibly grab the microphone from Triple H, saying that it would most definitely NOT be the case. He says he returned at the Survivor Series with one clear goal in mind, to become a world champion once again. All he had to do was carry out Hunter's dirty work for him until then, but it had been EVERYTHING he had done since then. He watched as stablemate Randy Orton failed to stay at the top whenever he didn't meddle in his matches, losing the World title to a minuscule troll such as Daniel Bryan, and as Hunter got entangled in this web with The Shield that he was now forcing all of them to take him out of. Batista says he's still the best this business has to offer, and now he was tired of waiting for the championship opportunity he had been promised since his return. He wanted it and he wanted it NOW, DAMMIT!

Hunter shakes his head, and says that Batista has been spinning the narrative a great deal. He says quite frankly, The Animal hadn't been pulling his weight around since the Survivor Series. He had suffered big time loss after big time loss and yet, was still being coddled as a little baby because of his past reputation. Hunter says that HE is sick and tired of watching Batista fail him, so he'd give him his match at Over the Limit against Daniel Bryan. But if he were to lose, that would be his final night in the WWE. He adds that, with or without Batista, Evolution's plan to exterminate The Shield would succeed.

Match #1: Rusev (w/Lana) defeats Primo with The Accolade. (D+; 5:10)

7VsiRhVs.jpg

A quick recap is shown of Rusev decimating Big Show and Shaquille O'Neal the previous night at Extreme Rules. After Lana celebrates the destruction Rusev promotes and insults the putrid Americans in attendance, it is up to Zeb Colter to finally have enough of their usual shtick and interrupt them. Zeb says the only reason the two can come out here and spill these lies about his great country is because of something called freedom of speech, which is not a thing in Russia; Zeb would be punished severely if he were to be in their shoes. He says he had grown tired of watching the two take advantage of the first amendment while facing no repercussions, and though he was still without another real american in Jack Swagger as a backup due to his injury rehab, he just couldn't help himself. He asks every real american in attendance to rise, put their hands over their heart and shout WE THE PEOPLE!

This leads to a slap from Lana, and Rusev kicks the veteran Zeb in the face, before locking him in The Accolade, until he is removed by a batch of officials. EMTs are called to the scene in order to transport Zeb out of Quicken Loans Arena, the crowd looking in horror as the boom is heard and the Russian flag is lowered behind Rusev and Lana.

• The show is left in a sour mood for a while after that series of events, Renee calling Rusev and Lana cowards for attacking the older Zeb, even moreso while he didn't have the backing of Jack Swagger available.

k7FFoCUs.jpg

The camera pans backstage to Vickie Guerrero, who announces she's been appointed by the board to oversee a makeover in the Cruiserweight division over the next few months. She says the fans will be witness to an array of arrivals from all over the globe, and at Over the Limit, there would be a new Vickie Guerrero Invitational to determine a new #1 Contender to Alex Shelley's championship. She says her late husband Eddie was one of the greatest cruiserweights to ever do it, and so she was excited to help a new generation come aboard to a bigger stage.

Match #2: The Usos © (w/Naomi) defeat The Gatebusters with Alley-Us on Curt Hawkins to retain the WWE World Tag Team Championship. (B; 10:05)

tenor_1.gif

After The Usos raise their championships following a successful defense, The Wyatt Family appears on the stage. #1 Contenders Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are flanked by patriarch Bray Wyatt and Judas Devlin, as The Usos go on a tense staredown with the mad, focused gaze of Harper and the broken, vaunted sheep mask of Rowan. Wyatt says that in this business, or in life, family is the most important thing there is. He gives credit to his brothers and sisters, saying he wouldn't be there if not for them. He had been laid to death by snakes and hypocrites but they had helped him find hope that one day, the ultimate salvation would be at hand. He says Jimmy and Jey had advanced sizeable lengths in that same timespan, and they owed a great deal to their family as well. He tells them to cherish that success while it lasted, because there was no stopping his family's odyssey. Their wishes had been heard by him, and there was nothing else that mattered at hand. RUN.

Match #3: The Miz © (w/John Morrison) defeats Alberto Del Rio with Skull Crushing Finale to retain the WWE United States Championship. The remaining members of The Aristocracy were inexplicably nowhere to be seen at ringside. (B; 10:42)

Amidst an ovation from his hometown of Cleveland, Miz is able to make quick work of Del Rio as he attempts to cheap shot the US Champion afterwards, with the help of partner in crime John Morrison. The two celebrate with their two championships, before Heath Slater appears with Brad Maddox, shouting at John Morrison that the One Man Band was not done with him just yet, baybay!

Match #4: Vitamin C defeats Big E & Kofi Kingston of The New Day (w/Elijah Burke and Xavier Woods) by DQ after Burke joined in an assault on Chris Jericho, bashing Y2J with the TV title. (B; 15:03)

Woods watches on as Big E, Kofi and Burke are able to carry out an assault on Vitamin C, before a surprising cavalry of Ryback and Sheamus, who have been teaming up on occasion recently, barge through The New Day for the save! The New Day retreats, mostly unscathed, as the two teams in the ring look on at each other with unease.

• Next, to the ring runs John Cena! Cole comments on how for the first time in a while, he senses a hep in Cena's step once more, and the enthusiasm is shared by a loud, if mixed reception from Quicken Loans Arena. Cena says that, at Extreme Rules, he did what he had to do. He joined forces with the supernatural for one night only, and for his efforts, Damien Sandow and his book of bullcrap will now rest in torment or whatever.

All that mattered was that his sick pursuit to wash the WWE from the name of John Cena and to brainwash anyone in the company who couldn't add 2 and 2 together was now something he didn't have to worry about anymore. Now that he had turned that page, it was time he focused on continuing to build towards this new wave of momentum, and he made the folks at home remember why he's stood there for 12 years, stronger and stronger every damn time. He says that at WrestleMania 31, he will have mustered enough strength to do the most unthinkable feat of all, and that was to end The Undertaker's Streak; Taker was on. But before all that, he planned to tack on more feats throughout the year. And the first order of business was to win this year's King of the Ring tournament, something he had never done and now had extra incentive to accomplish since it would be held in honor of his late friend Jerry ''The King'' Lawler.

vrHAHnus.jpg

Cena is then interrupted by...Alex Riley? Riley looks deeply angered, telling Cena to, no matter what the [CENSOR] he does now, that he stays the hell away from his partner Zack Ryder. Cena tells Riley to go easy, as he's been longtime friends with Ryder. Riley calls bullcrap on that, quoting Kane's questions from a few weeks ago as he asks where Cena was when Ryder was being punished for simply not being the company's plan at the time. He says Cena is just a backstabbing shark and only now folks are starting to be more open about it. He says Cena is all smiles in the ring, but he tries to undermine anyone who may prove to be a threat to him in the future when backstage. He says 2013 had been the happiest year in the life of Alex Riley, as for once, he could watch as John Cena truly felt the pain he did when he watched friend after friend after friend of his be kicked to the curb by Cena and for his involvement to be swept under the rug by management.

Well, now Mr. McMahon wasn't around anymore to protect Cena, and it showed in spades due to Cena's failures. Until Extreme Rules, where admittedly, Damien Sandow was a cuckoo too many for Riley's liking; yet, he hated that his demise would figure to lead to the butterfly effect that'd revive the career of John Cena. He plain and simple did not deserve all the chances he kept receiving no matter what.

6hlXoAXs.jpg

This brings Zack Ryder to intervene, standing between his two closest friends in the company. Riley says that Zack deserved so much more back then, and now Cena was trying to drag him back to the mud; he wouldn't allow that to happen this time. Cena says that clearly, Riley has longtime issues with him, so maybe it'd be best for them to solve them in the ring.

fWxWKjUs.jpg

Triple H appears, saying this situation has escalated pretty quickly in his list of priorities. He says that while Alex Riley is right in the fact that John Cena doesn't and will not receive the same treatment he used to under the ongoing regime, he is still one of the biggest assets in the company. He says that it was unfortunate how things went with Zack Ryder back in 2012, but that this is a business, and sometimes you cut weak links by the root. Still, he felt sympathy over the two, he really did. They had failed to grab that brass ring thus far, well, now he was giving them a chance to do that at once. He says that John Cena's relationship with Zack Ryder is one of the most complicated and inexplicable he's ever laid witness to, so at Over the Limit, he'd kill many birds with just one stone. John Cena would get to prove either his loyalty to Zack Ryder, or his selfishness towards his individual goals. Zack Ryder would get to show how much he values his career with a second chance over his relationship with John Cena. Plus, Alex Riley would get his chance of revenge against John Cena for all his past deeds with him and his friends.

At Over the Limit, it would be another handicap match pitting John Cena against Alex Riley and Zack Ryder; if the two were to win due to Zack Ryder pinning John Cena, Zack Ryder would become the new #1 contender for either world championship of his choosing. But, at the same time, John Cena would lose his entry in the King of the Ring tournament, preventing him from honoring his fallen friend, as much as that ''pained'' Hunter to say. Now if John Cena were to win, he'd mantain his entry in the tournament; however, Riley or Ryder would be unable to team up anymore in the WWE. It would be all or nothing for all parties. The conflict in the eyes of Zack Ryder is apparent, as Riley looks satisfied. Cena is left to ponder his options, as the announcers debate the dilemmas Triple H has implemented into this match.

Main Event: Austin Aries defeats Fandango (w/Summer Rae) with Last Chancery. (B; 14:04)

A frustrated Aries talks about how close he came to becoming the new WWE Champion at Extreme Rules, as he had AJ Styles beat. He says he's earned the benefit of the doubt for one more opportunity, and unless AJ was a coward who took one split second as gospel, he'd give him that.

s2TNHZ5s.jpg

AJ enters the ring, and wonders what it'll take for him to shut Aries up for good. He says they had a hell of a match last night, and he respects Aries' skills in the ring. What he doesn't respect is his mouth and how he looks at their kind as inferior to himself. He says that he'd give Aries his match at Over the Limit. And there would be no more doubts as to who the better man was any longer after that night; for they would fight until one of them was so bruised, battered and finished, they could do nothing but scream...I Quit. Aries nods in satisfaction, saying he felt the quit in AJ's eyes multiple times at Extreme Rules. He says any stipulation that amplifies Last Chancery is a boon to his side, and so it would be. At Over the Limit, he'd make the imitator AJ Styles admit The Greatest Man That Ever Lived's superiority by quitting in the middle of the ring.

• Next week on Raw: The Dirt Sheet with Heath Slater, and The Highlight Reel with Christian, Ryback, Sheamus and The New Day!

pwpXc4Y.jpg

dt78SrVs.jpgtydKXBMs.jpgfWxWKjUs.jpg

• The bruised and battered unit of Evolution makes their way to the ring once more after the announcement of that marquee matchup, minus Batista as Renee points out. Joey says he might have started training in great anticipation for his high stakes championship challenge against Daniel Bryan at Over the Limit, but nevertheless, Ric Flair grabs the mic. Naitch tells the audience to take a good, hard look at the greatness standing everywhere in the ring, a whopping 40 world championships between the three of them. The Shield may have bested them once, but they were sure as hell not going to overlast something as eternal as Evolution. Eventually, they'd find that the great ones will never run out of plans until one comes to fruition; one member more or one fewer would not matter, natural selection comes to you all the same!

nXQn9f4s.jpgOILMVE9s.jpgOJhsl8Ws.jpg

The Shield then comes down from the Cleveland crowd, not looking a heck of a lot much better than their veteran counterparts. Ambrose asks if the three of them have an early death wish, since they were ran out of New Jersey and back at Extreme Rules yet were still asking for more. Rollins explains that natural selection eventually leads to newer predators marking their territory, and Evolution had just met theirs. Reigns stares with intimidation at Triple H, leading for the COO to say maybe, they have a point. This greatly confuses Orton and Ric Flair.

Hunter says that the three of them showed legendary cohesion at Extreme Rules, something few units in the history of the business had showed the capability of possessing. Such cohesion could only be achieved with the greatest of leaders. And such, at Over the Limit, he was undeclaring his earlier challenge of another tag team contest. Instead, the King of Kings would do something he seldom does for the past few years and lace up his boots for a one on one matchup. He challenges ''the leader of The Shield'' to an unsanctioned match at Over the Limit. This brings Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins to take a step back and talk to each other in a huddle, as Hunter says all three of them have reasons to take a stab at him, all three of them have reasons to consider themselves the leader. But he would only accept to step into the ring against ONE of them, and that one person, the leader, would have all night long in Chicago to do whatever the hell he'd like to him.

Ambrose shakes his head, laughing at Hunter's attempt to create dissention within The Shield. He says they're a tightly run unit where all three of them hold equal ground in calling the shots. Orton, sensing blood, intervenes, saying that could be true; but there always has to be that one voice that stands out above all. He and Hunter had waged war several times in the past and may do so in the future again, but even he had to admit that the King of Kings was loud and clear as the leader of Evolution. Rollins and Reigns step up, as the former says that Evolution's game will not work on them. Ambrose says that they would regroup over the next few weeks to come on a consensus as to which of them deserved to gnaw at Triple H's guts more come Over the Limit. He says Triple H would get his match, but that he should be careful what to wish for; for the Hounds of Justice would end his regime once and for all at Over the Limit.

Dark Match: Justin Gabriel (w/Richie Steamboat) defeats BJ Whitmer with 450 Splash. (B-)

''The Bite of '14''

• SmackDown opens with the arrival of The New Day, Xavier Woods declaring it's good to be back on the show that made him a household name last year. He promises explanations will be given firsthand this Monday on Raw, where they have been invited by washed up former world champion he used to look up to in Chris Jericho to the Highlight Reel. For now, fans would feast their eyes on one of The New Day's best, as TV Champion ''The Pope'' Elijah Burke would wrestle in his weekly title defense.

B74943M.jpg

Match #1: Elijah Burke © (w/The New Day) defeats Brodus Clay (w/Mark Henry) with Elijah Experience to retain the WWE World Television Championship.(B-; 8:18)

After the match, Mark Henry looks fed up with the failures of his partner, and levels him with World's Strongest Slam! He is approached by the New Day foursome, Woods looking wary near the large frame of Mark Henry. Woods tells Henry to go easy on them, and says he had watched for months as Henry has had to carry the fat carcass of a far inferior behemoth in Clay. Woods promises that the wrongdoings in Henry's career would be redeemed if he'd at last join a focused cause; they had been sorely needing a veteran like him on their side, after all. Henry thinks it through for a moment, and as Clay squirms to try and get back to his feet, Henry crushes him with two massive splashes! Henry then shakes the hand of Xavier Woods, leaving with The New Day! This group of malcontents is not a week old, and it has added another dominant presence already!

(OOC: Clay is surprisingly old as shit and his stats are not worth pushing him. I don't dislike him enough to outright fire him, but you will see him in NXT to work with the young guns from now on.)

• Renee Young is backstage with World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, and she asks him about his title defense at Over the Limit against Batista. Bryan says he's sure that Batista will overlook him the entire way through, and he'll be in for a hard time as such. He would feel bad over costing him his WWE career, but surely, Batista wouldn't do the same to him; so at Over the Limit, the YES! movement would be the final nail in Batista's coffin, the last thing he'd hear before his untimely departure.

The KoW comes in, applauding the champion; Davey Richards says Batista represents something truly cursed to all wrestling purists, including the three of them and Bryan. He says the one to carry out his demise should be that of highest wrestling royalty, and though he respected Bryan's journey greatly, he did not see him as fit to carry out The Animal's sentence. Bryan says if Davey's got an issue, then he'll see him in the ring tonight, and he'll even put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line to raise the stakes a notch!

• Cruiserweight Champion Alex Shelley is in the ring alongside friend and partner Shannon Moore, as he informs the fans that Cody Rhodes is not in the arena tonight, and in fact hasn't been seen since Extreme Rules. He questions the timing of this, noting that yes, Cody did get attacked alongside him by the numerous Stardusts the previous week. But, none of them looked like the original one from a year ago, and he still mantained that it had always been Cody; and so, he had something to do with all the attacks carried out against him lately. He says at Over the Limit, a new challenger from anywhere around the globe will be crowned to meet him, and he would not like to have this weight on the back of his head as an extra burden.

The Legionnaires' theme song hits, Shantellé behind the two Frenchmen as she carries their flag. Dupree denounces the USA as the only country in the world where this nonsense could be taking place in. He says in France, there's no such thing as masked curiosities or a cyberpunk wannabe like Shelley holding a coveted championship. Shelley challenges Dupree to back up his claims in the ring, as Dupree says he'll proudly expose him as The Legionnaires head back to tag team championship contention.

Match #2: The Legionnaires (w/Shantellé Bridgetté) defeat Alex Shelley & Shannon Moore with Loire Valley Driver by Dupree on Moore. The Red Stardust again ambushed the Cruiserweight Champion, costing him a valuable tag back into the match as he pulled Shelley down by coming from under the ring and out of the referee's view. • Backstage, Serena holds a pep rally with her fellow former Damien Sandow acolytes, trying to be some sort of glue to hold them together. She tells them the messiah might not be in their plan any longer, but his message will always be alive with them if they will just stay together. Luke Robinson quickly departs the area, saying he's not as impressionable as he looks; he had only used Sandow as a means for there to be more of a spotlight on him. He thanks Sanctuary for getting rid of Andy Leavine's sorry ass for him, but it is time he ventured on his own again as he's meant to. Serena then stares at Parker and Ryan. Christopher James Parker says it's nothing personal, she just doesn't have the same pull that the master did. He says he'll go back to advertising about the dire situation the world finds itself in, and now with the teachings that the master had imposed in him, he would no doubt succeed in his endeavors. He signals for Mason Ryan to join him, which the powerhouse does, no questions asked. This leaves Serena all alone, a sigh of disappointment following.

vT881LBs.jpg

Sarcastic applause is heard, as the camera shows Becky Lynch smiling at Serena, saying she had heard everything from afar; it was a great try, but now she knew for sure Serena would be all alone for their match next. She pats Serena in the back, before leaving with a confident smile in her face.

Match #3: Becky Lynch defeats Serena with Disarmer. (B-; 9:54)

Becky then grabs a mic, looking refreshed for the first time in forever. She says at Extreme Rules, she finally took the Barbara Kelly monkey off of her back. Indeed, Barbara would be out for a couple of months due to the injuries suffered during their Steel Cage Match. She gives props for ''that bastard'' as they went to war, the wounds still showing on Becky's face; but she had no chance of extinguishing the fire in her veins once it was lit, so she yanked the bitch's arm as hard as she could to show the world who Becky [CENSOR] Lynch is! And now, she finally had bigger fish to fry. She had watched the rest of Extreme Rules, and there was an even badder bitch than Barbara ruling supreme all this time. What Kaitlyn did to Paige was despicable...and Becky wouldn't think twice before doing it to Kaitlyn herself. Becky says she finally had a clear path to the Divas Championship; she wanted Kaitlyn and she wanted her at Over the Limit! Unless, of course, Stephanie McMahon's lapdog was too much of a coward to be exposed by superior competition and have her lass kicked on pay-per-view.

axxlWzws.jpg

Via satellite, the Divas Champion is in her fancy garb acquired since joining the regime; she scoffs at the idea that Paige had been a challenge and that Becky would be anywhere near that either. She admits she has an open card at Over the Limit, and maybe humbling Becky would send a message to the rest of the division that they were going nowhere that she didn't order them to. After deliberating for a moment, Kaitlyn accepts Becky's challenge, saying that unlike Barbara who was all bark and would never finish the job, she had always and still will always do just that; Becky had just signed her hospital bill.

• Elsewhere, Nikki Bella is seen berating Brie for disobeying her orders the previous week on Raw, and now she'd learn her place as she should. Nikki drops canned dog food all over her sister, who has to stand pat and not react to any of it. Natalya passes by, looking absolutely horrified as Layla did before her, yanking the can from Nikki's hand and asking her what is her endgame with all this. Nikki asks Natalya if she doesn't have a husband to look submissive to, as Tyson Kidd conveniently arrives with headphones on. He gives a subtle smirk and a chuckle at the scene with Brie, before telling Nattie to leave with him, saying that it's a fact that cats are superior. Nikki waves at Natalya with a shit eating grin herself, before Natalya says they'll see each other on Monday. Natalya tosses the remaining dog food from the can she took at a shocked Nikki, before leaving with the nonchalant Kidd.

• Sin Cara then enters the ring, gladly admitting to taking care of The Aristocracy before The Miz's US title defense on Raw against Alberto Del Rio, ''along with the help of a few amigos''. Cara says that isn't as important as what happened on Extreme Rules, however; he had saved his former longtime friend Rey Mysterio from Del Rio's slimy clutches, and yet, Rey had refused to return to his former noble self; the true legendary Rey Mysterio. He asks simply, what gives?

This brings the unmasked Rey to the stage, as he asks Sin Cara from what exactly he had freed him at Extreme Rules. He says that, at WrestleMania, Cara had embarassed him in front of the whole world and forced him to a lifetime of shame. Now that he had no mask, he had no identity; with no identity, he had no fans. With no fans, he had no steady income, as Triple H had given him a massive paycut due to his fall in popularity. He claims that Alberto Del Rio, for as detestable as he is and the heinous acts he had forced him to commit, was his best way of income; and now, he couldn't even have that. So he asks Cara again, what exactly he had freed him from at Extreme Rules. He was not Rey Mysterio anymore, and in fact, he doesn't think he could ever go back to being that anymore...and it was all Sin Cara's fault. Cara leans against the ropes as he watches Rey shed tears from his eyes, the audience conflicted in reactions to the former longtime fan favorite before we head to a commercial break.

Match #4: Drew McIntyre (w/Paul Heyman) defeats Richie Steamboat (w/Justin Gabriel) with Future Shock DDT. (C+; 7:53)

mGZTIcAs.jpg

An irate McIntyre then calls out CM Punk to the ring, claiming it's time that they ended this. Punk joins his former comrades from afar in the stage, mocking McIntyre for being too slow both for not being able to save partner Wade Barrett the previous Sunday, and for not succeeding in the Vince McMahon era where everything was spoonfed to him. He says his prediction had come true in many ways; more and more true wrestlers were coming aboard and fighting the machine. Yet, oafs like McIntyre were still being handpicked to be given chance after chance over no merit, rather over their size and look. Punk says Paul Heyman used to fight that train of thought, but now he not only tolerated it, but he embraced it. Heyman says if Punk feels any jealous over who he currently backs, he wouldn't have made the worst decision of his career at WrestleMania. He says that men like Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett will lead the professional wrestling industry into the rest of the 21st century and beyond. They were being molded into specimen that Punk couldn't combat or comprehend, and on behalf of his client Drew McIntyre, he was challenging Punk to meet the Chosen One in 2 weeks at Over the Limit. McIntyre again says it were 868 grueling days following Punk around and ensuring his every whim was taken care of...if he had the balls to meet him in the ring, no lifeline in Curtis Axel, no nothing...he'd show him firsthand how he's feeling about all that time being forced to give in to a man he personally despises, and of course, he'd also show Punk why he is the future of this business. Punk says he wonders how many times he'll have to put Heyman's cronies to sleep before they realize he is not who they want to be measuring their value against; he was big on keeping people worthy of opportunity around, but he had no horse in the race for people like Barrett or McIntyre who sought to follow the suits into corrupting the WWE to their vision. He says at Over the Limit, McIntyre was on...and afterwards, he would turn his attention on becoming the King of the Ring and a world champion once again.

• Speaking of King of the Ring, Renee Young interviews the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner Cesaro on his entry into the prestigious tournament, asking him what makes him think he has the edge over the rest of the field this year. Cesaro says he's scoped through the rest of the field, studied their games a great deal and he does believe there's no one else who offers as balanced an in-ring product as he does, who can compete with anyone of any style with as much effort and tenacity. He says a king of international caliber would be a king that this company could at last be proud of. No fluff, no garb, just a man who wishes to compete, prove his mantle against the best the WWE has to offer and earn an opportunity for a world championship. He says his name is on the rise, and it was about time he took the next step; it would begin next week against Wade Barrett for his first round matchup.

Right, I am quite tired of waiting around for things to be fixed, so I'll be trying out a show or two tonight. If the thread fixes itself with all the posts before this one reappearing, that's fantastic. If not, I will either pray the older boards never die so I can link the older shows for new readers or I will delete this thread and create a new one with both the old shows and the ones I'll be posting firstly in here.

The show opens with a promo battle between WWE Champion AJ Styles and Austin Aries. The two vow to make the other say I Quit at Over the Limit, and finally put an end to this years long animosity between them. Styles says he'll be damned if Aries will be the one to put an end to this process he's going through in order to build his real estate in the WWE and immortalize himself as one of the greatest in the industry. Aries says anything AJ does, he can do better. He had defeated ''The Immortal'' Hulk Hogan the previous year, retired Stone Cold Steve Austin again at WrestleMania and had just barely not beaten AJ at Extreme Rules. He says The Greatest Man That Ever Lived has not gotten to where he is by quitting, and he wouldn't start doing so now.

k9uGTVis.jpgP3dF6XNs.jpg

Before Lana can praise Russia and her client Rusev, the two are interrupted by Richie Steamboat and Justin Gabriel! Richie confronts Rusev on attacking Zeb Colter the previous week, citing it as a dishonorable act. Lana says that Rusev did only something this company should have done ages ago, he had gotten rid of a xenophobic old sack of bones that had no usage left. She then mentions the irony in a struggling foreigner in Gabriel backing up an american failure in Steamboat. Steamboat says that Gabriel saw the value in him as a competitor and person; he had only needed a break in order to stand out from the pack and shed his past struggles. He challenges Rusev to a match at Over the Limit, promising to tame the beast and shut up the two for good. Rusev stares down the second generation star, and Lana accepts the challenge in behalf of her man, laughing and stating he will be crushed alongside his unrealistic expectations of himself.

IN A WORLD FULL...OF WINNERS AND LOSERS.
TWO MEN HAVE RISEN ABOVE!

TO BRING YOU...
THE DIRT SHEET

The Miz and John Morrison present the newest edition of The Dirt Sheet, where the two recall this dejavu of a moment that is the two of them sitting in there with the United States and Intercontinental Championships. A recap is shown of October 2009 when this was the case, and the two were bitter enemies trading barbs with one another. Back in the current day, the two compliment the other for the sharp insults back then, before Miz adds that as the trailblazers the two are, they have since challenged the notion that a team must have a Jannetty. Morrison audibly whispers that it's a good thing they did, or else Miz would be the Jannetty, before starting to whistle. Miz is speechless for a moment, and he says they won't be starting this again. Neither one of their moneymakers would look good jumping through a window, anyway. Morrison says someone's face he would like to see going through a window, alongside all the 2 CDs that were produced for his music, the worst received YouTube content this side of Rebecca Black. The two welcome former champion Heath Slater and Brad Maddox to the ring, the One Man Band keeping his slick and cool composure.

39PolL6s.jpgCI8yeNUs.jpg

Miz says that, as much as he appreciates Detroit, last week was special to him back in his hometown of Cleveland. He had retained the championship over big boy Berto, and after the show was over with, he and Morrison picked up some hotties outside of the Q (Be jealous) and readied for a magical night at the Palace of Wisdom. The two turn their stares to the side, before Miz adds that unfortunately, there were no condoms left in the area that night, and all evidence pointed to one culprit. Slater feels proud with a smile for a moment, before Miz and Morrison turn to Brad Maddox and ask him his secret; what led to him in one night becoming the man who screwed Cleveland over more than LeBron James.

Before Maddox can reply, Slater angrily removes the mic from his associate's hand, saying he knows what's going on here with them not asking any questions related to the match. He says Miz and Morrison are taking him for granted, thinking he's a joke and they will easily get past the One Man Band at Over the Limit. Slater says he thought he had earned more respect than that recently, but surely enough, men kept doubting him over and over again, including the two. He says that every one of these men would eventually find out that when it comes to the big dance, no one can outperform the One Man Band once he's in his comfort zone, and at Over the Limit, like it or not, he was coming back for his Intercontinental Championship; he did not particularly care for what Maddox's intentions would be with the U.S. gold.

axxlWzws.jpg

A staredown ensues, before the whole ordeal is interrupted by Divas Champion Kaitlyn, who laughs at the fact that her Over the Limit opponent in Becky Lynch came up to the company by pairing up with two goobers like Miz and Morrison. She says her notions are all coming true, and in Chicago, she'd absolutely humiliate Becky to teach her where she belongs in this division. Becky Lynch is shown to have been hiding behind the Dirt Sheet set all along, and she launches a surprise attack on the champion, leveling her with a barrage of fists, before barely being unable to lock on the Disarmer! Kaitlyn escapes in one piece, Stephanie McMahon joining her on stage to check on her ace's condition, but the fact of the matter is, Becky Lynch is having none of Kaitlyn's disrespect towards her!

Backstage, Cesaro enters the locker room of Curtis Axel, the two having been set to team up tonight in the main event in anticipation of next week's inaugural King of the Ring first round matchups. Cesaro points out to Axel that they have very similar goals in this company and both of them had signature WrestleMania moments this year. He says he doesn't believe Axel can be a better king than he will be, but he damn well hopes the two will meet in the tournament and have a hell of a match in the process. Axel says he wouldn't have it any other way, and adds that Cesaro might have been around more places than he has and might speak more languages, but Axel's natural pedigree was simply incomparable; he had proved so time and time again, and would not hesitate to do so against Cesaro either. But for tonight, he'd gladly join in this unlikely partnership. After all, being perfect meant he could mesh well with anyone and everyone; he had just done that with former rival CM Punk at Extreme Rules. The two share a nod of respect, before Cesaro departs.

After that complete and utter squash, Bo Dallas admits even he can't find a way to motivate The Colony to BOlieve. He is joined at ringside by Christopher James Parker and Mason Ryan, the behemoth holding Parker's signature cardboard signs advertising the deforestation of the Amazon and the perils that Planet Earth is facing, all the while Parker talks about all that over a megaphone. Bo is amused, telling Parker and Ryan that he will sign a petition to help them once he's backstage, as long as they traded favors and the two promised they'd BOlieve. Parker says any compromise is worth it for the good of the planet, and so, Bo had a deal.

Renee Young interviews the tag champions in The Usos, who defy the dangers that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have shown to be since coming to the WWE. Riley is absolutely irate at the result of the match, getting up to Cena's face afterwards and letting him know about it. Zack Ryder and Courtney Taylor again try to play defense, though this time, Cena accidentally pushes his friend and causes a rift as Ryder for once decides to push back. Kane is seen audibly laughing in the background, his voice telling Cena to embrace the hate and attack Zack Ryder, but before anything can happen, Mark Henry of The New Day levels Cena with World's Strongest Slam! Ryder considers returning to the ring to help Cena, but Riley is able to keep his partner from doing so, telling him it's not worth it on so many levels. The New Day then stands over John Cena, statement made just before they are to join The Highlight Reel.

pwpXc4Y.jpg

The Highlight Reel is immediately hijacked as The New Day refuse to leave the ring in order for Jericho to set up his decoration, instead Woods picks up a microphone and lets Jericho know they will be taking over this interview and he will like it. Woods says questions have been abundant as to what and why. He says people ask him all the time why he'd go against the people who once gave him power on SmackDown. He says that was false power; he had to answer to a set of people and adhere to their every wish, while deserving men were left rotting in the background. He says the four men with him are just a fraction of these men, and now that they're together, they answer to no one but themselves.

Past and future imposing behemoths in Big E and Mark Henry would not be told to hold back any longer; they had a blank sheet to wreck havoc and were in fact encouraged to do so if it so pleased them. The backing of the church in form of The Pope would mean that they were performing the duty of God with this trek, and he is not a man to question an odyssey that has been blessed. Lastly, Kofi Kingston had been treated as a sideshow his entire career, his opportunities thrown aside by men that had been handed everything. This disgusted Woods on a personal level, himself a man who was forced to watch as management forced him to work with Hulk Hogan as an equal for a time the previous year. He doesn't need to say more about that. Woods says that he's a walking and talking file on The Conspiracy and their plans, but that he had no intentions of opening up on that. They were simply doomed to fail due to the simple fact the bosses had the entire operation in the reins from the beginning. For a true workers' revolution to take place, the workers themselves have to take the reins, and this was The New Day. They would not rest until each and every single one of them were acknowledged as valuable members of this company, overthrowing the current flawed management model and holding the championship gold they all deserved in the process.

This brings him to their opponents at Over the Limit and firstly, the would-be host of this interview, Chris Jericho. Woods chastizes Y2J for being washed up, noting how he watched as Jericho failed time and time again to recapture his former magic even with all the chances he had worked hard to hand him the previous year; he had simply lost it. Now he had been relegated to team with the least relevant half of Edge and Christian again, even 3 years after the former's retirement. He challenges Jericho to look himself in the mirror and see what he has to change in order to succeed once again. He was once a feared and ruthless competitor, one worthy of stepping in The New Day's path. For right now, he and Christian were mere stones they would easily move at Over the Limit. As for Ryback and Sheamus? Two men with no familiarity with one another that would be eaten alive by his feared duo of the master of the Hall of Pain and a man that requested 5 seconds to beat his foes.

Jericho leads his Over the Limit foursome to the ring, as he denounces Woods as a stupid idiot, telling him Chris Jericho has never lost it and never will lose it, he had rough patches in the past, but eventually, he'd always find a way out of them. And The New Day would be stupid to pretend as if he'd just lay down and allow them to make a name over him, if he understands what he's saying to him right now. Sheamus says that the fellas had made a huge mistake in targeting the four, and that darkness would befall The New Day much quicker than they expected at Over the Limit. He had each of their names written in his boots for a Brogue Kick. Christian says he's used to dealing with pretentious douchebags like Woods in his career, and he'd simply outwork them at Over the Limit. Ryback leads a Feed Me More chant, and the nine men stare each other down.

Evolution is in the ring next, and after Triple H briefly pep talks Batista and how this time he will undoubtedly succeed in his venture of challenging Daniel Bryan at Over the Limit or else, he calls out The Shield in anticipation that they will have come up with a decision for who will face him that night. The Shield indeed joins the veteran group in the ring, and after circling around for a few moments, it seems as if they have made up their mind, as the silent powerhouse in Roman Reigns steps up to the plate, staring down The Game with a neverending and focused glare. Triple H smirks, before leaving with his cavalry. The show fades to black with the Shield at full force in the ring, it seems as if another marquee matchup for Over the Limit has been set. Will Roman Reigns be the one to put an end to the tyranny?

A mistimed throw by JTG has the cream hit Byron Saxton's head, which Tom and Renee laugh at since it has no effect. (C-)

Gotta say that I quite like the new forums for show posting. Easier for images for sure. Of course, a few things need getting used to. If someone can help me figure out how to make the videos smaller in here, I'd greatly appreciate it.

When you get the embed code from YouTube, you will see the resolution settings in the very beginning of the string. For example width="560" height="315" in the example below.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9eSHEkU_Ltg?start=215" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Play around with those values and you'll get it smaller. For reference of the size you can create a blank canvas in Paint with set dimensions and decrease height or weight while maintaining aspect ratio.

Hope this helps, and good job on the latest show!

Match #1

Elijah Burke (c) (w/The New Day) fought Sheamus to a 15 Minute Time-Limit Draw. Burke retains the TV Championship.

Rating: B
Time: 15:00

Sheamus is disappointed at the result, leading him to kick the champion's teeth in with Brogue Kick! This leads every other member of the massive Over the Limit tag team match to be embroiled in a brawl. Josh mentions how this may be detrimental to Vitamin C for later tonight, when they will meet the admittedly odd pairing of CM Punk and Fandango in a King of the Ring preview tag match.

Vickie Guerrero introduces us to some of the newcomers that we will see next week at Over the Limit in the Cruiserweight Invitational. Mat technician Drew Gulak, second generation stalwart Dakota Darsow, up and coming NXT teammates Kalisto and El Local, Japanese junior Akira Tozawa, veteran youngsters in Tony Nese and Xion (this was before the game presented me with an unique scenario where he was diagnosed with cancer), and mysterious Dutchman Aleister Black. She says all of these men would be given opportunities to better acclimate themselves to the WWE after Over the Limit, but only one of them would have the chance to make a big first impression on pay-per-view and become the new #1 Contender. She says the men you already watch on WWE TV would also be involved in the mix, and advises the fans to tune into the Over the Limit Kickoff Show. Suddenly, the Red Stardust appears all alone in the titantron, popping all over the screen in a peekaboo sort of way. He says that the Cosmos have instructed him to watch over this match VERY closely, and this time, Vickie could not be excused; she would be a casualty of the wars to come, much like the rest of them, unless the Cosmic Key was to be retrieved.

Match #2 (Non-Title Match)
Kaitlyn defeats Alicia Fox with the Gutbuster-Spear Combo.

Rating: C+
Time: 5:51

vT881LBs.jpg

After the champion badmouths Becky Lynch once again, the challenger is eager to take Kaitlyn on a fistfight, one that is evenly matched until Becky takes the champion down in a surprising move and once again nearly locks in the Disarmer! Kaitlyn again slithers out of the ring to save herself, but as Booker mentions, if one of his fave five in Becky is able to put the champ in that hold come Over the Limit, the legendary title run may just be over!

div%3E

whjaON9s.jpgIIkGFWCs.jpg

Outside of Brock Lesnar's locker room where the usual commotion is not present, instead chilling silence as Paul Heyman departs. Renee Young tries to catch up in time, but Heyman again reminds her to stop trying to get the scoop when it comes to Brock Lesnar; the entire world would get to know The Beast's next move at the exact same time. He says what matters is a week from Sunday, his client Drew McIntyre would realize his untapped potential by pinning the man who fans saw as untouchable in CM Punk. He tells Renee to focus on that, and he and McIntyre would gladly take an interview with her after the match that night.

E4tekSHs.jpglfUXV6is.jpg

Alberto Del Rio's theme song plays, and instead of The Aristocrat coming out, it's his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez, all alone! He admits there is dissention within the Aristocracy group with all that's been going on recently, but that tonight he'd give the fans something they had been waiting for a long time, the proper in-ring return of Ricardo Rodriguez! He vows to make his patron proud, by defeating the cowardly perro Sin Cara.

Match #3
Sin Cara defeats Ricardo Rodriguez with La Mistica.

Rating: B-
Time: 8:00

Cara then points to the camera, and says he will find a way to bring Rey Mysterio back to his former glory, he owed it to himself at this point. He knows deep down, the same honorable man is still there under a speck of self-doubt and pity.

Backstage, CM Punk enters a locker room to lay witness to Fandango and Summer Rae rehearsing the art of Fandangoing. Punk blinks, not looking very impressed, as he asks if he came in a wrong time. Fandango says he came in at the perfect time, the peace of mind radiating through that locker room would power them through tonight and the entire King of the Ring tournament. Punk laughs, mentioning how he greatly respects Fandango as a competitor, but that he was pretty loony with all this extra bullcrap. He says he'll compete alongside him tonight, but that the two weren't friends or anything close to the sort. Fandango says that as long as Punk presents himself as a man of honor in order to atone following the long stretch of time where he was not, he will be cool with him.

Match #4
Batista (w/Ric Flair) defeats Rob Van Dam with Batista Bite.

Rating: B-
Time: 7:53

wFNfayTs.jpg

Batista is then confronted by World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, who gives him props for the hell of a beating he took from The Animal the previous week. He acknowledges how much of an equalizer the Bite would prove to be, but he would not allow himself not to fight until the very end, these people would not allow him not to fight until the very end. He tells Batista it would be a western standoff at Over the Limit; the quickest to the draw may as well be the winner. Batista says he felt immense joy last week when he had Bryan suffocating in the Batista Bite. He felt more alive than ever in this run. At Over the Limit, he'd reclaim his long awaited spot as a major player in this company, and he'd end the short lived fairy tale with a knockout back to reality.

whjaON9s.jpgyNcMsO4s.jpgQVOX1nDs.jpg

Renee Young interviews Vitamin C, asking them how they're feeling following the brawl that took place earlier in the show and how it might affect their main event matchup tonight. Jericho is noticeably close faced, so it forces Christian to answer the question; he says The New Day undoubtedly did a number on them, but that the Peeps and Jerichoholics would inject them with the jolt of Vitamin C needed to get through just enough to come away with a win. Renee tries to get something out of Jericho by asking him his expectations for this year's King of the Ring tournament following his runner-up attempt the previous year, but Jericho leaves the scene without uttering a single word.

Quote

MAIN EVENT (King of the Ring First Round Preview)
CM Punk & Fandango (w/Summer Rae) defeat Vitamin C. After Drew McIntyre removed CM Punk from the equation with a brawl all over the Kohl Center, this left Jericho and Fandango all alone in the ring. Y2J would nearly win the match with Walls of Jericho, but Fandango barely grasped the bottom rope and forced the break before the 5-count. Jericho went for Codebreaker, but Fandango surprised him by pulling the chair on the veteran and following it with a roll-up for the major upset!

Rating: B
Time: 18:26

While Fandango, Summer and the crowd are in a mix of shock and awe, Jericho is nothing but speechless, asking the official Charles Robinson what just happened! Christian tries to get his partner to leave the ring without much protest, which he eventually succeeds in, though Jericho's look of confusion would have to be surgically removed from his face at this point. Fandango's theme song leads the Milwaukee crowd to sing along as he and Summer celebrate until we fade to black!

Renee has Vitamin C in the ring next, Jericho looking greatly different from when last we saw him on SmackDown as he was pinned by Fandango in a monumental upset. Renee asks them about the ramifications of that match going not only into Sunday, but their entry in the King of the Ring as their matches would be taking place next week. Jericho takes over the interview entirely, playfully asking Renee if she doesn't know who the two of them are; of course none of that would matter. Because Chris Jericho and Christian are two professionals who take nothing for granted and don't get rattled when they are defeated by scrawny nobodies. He says The New Day would get what it's coming to them this Sunday, and they would ride that wave of momentum all the way to winning the King of the Ring, unless of course he were to suffer another unlikely moment of bullshit by losing to Phantasmo again the next week. Jericho starts laughing, which startles Renee, Christian and Renee's fellow announcers. Renee says it's Fandango, to which Jericho simply replies ''of course it is'', leaving alongside Christian looking weirdly re-energized.

Match #2
Rusev (w/Lana) defeats Matt Taven with The Accolade.

Rating: D
Time: 4:21

Lana chastizes the audience for believing in the odds that Richie Steamboat will defeat Rusev at Over the Limit. She says America has always been obsessed with the idea that a hero, an underdog would save them from the ''evil'' forces of foreign countries whenever necessary. She dismisses Richie as a joke, one that Rusev would easily crush on Sunday.

gEj9bzls.jpgrOV73kws.jpg

Miz and Morrison run down their match this Sunday, dismissing Heath Slater's claim that they had been treating him and only him as a joke; the thing was, everyone else in the WWE was a joke compared to the greatest tag team to ever grace this or any company in the 21st century. And you could rest assured one of them was taking the King of the Ring crown home this year. Be jealous.

Match #3

After Cena is swarmed by The New Day, Zack Ryder storms the ring, and in turn, The New Day gladly backs down from Cena. Woods signals to Ryder that Cena's lifeless carcass is ''all his'', but Ryder instead sticks to his friend and hammers the New Day with a barrage of fists! Ryder ends up greatly regretting this, as he's hit with a major shoulder block by Big E, followed by Big Ending and World's Strongest Slam! Renee wonders if being loyal to his friends will cost Zack Ryder major opportunities this Sunday, as it has done his entire career.

Final words are exchanged between Evolution and The Shield before Over the Limit; Triple H gives credit where credit is due for a sound decision from their part as to who they considered as their leader in Roman Reigns, a man with potential you can sense from a mile away. Ambrose says the decision wasn't made with who the leader was in mind; all three of them were the leader. Rollins says it came down to who would have the mindset to beat up Triple H as he deserves while not also costing themselves by going overboard with it. Orton brings up how that explains why Ambrose wasn't chosen, but where does Rollins fit in there? Flair laughs at the fact Rollins' Shield comrades iced him out of the decision most likely, since he didn't possess the killer body or the killer instinct to hang with The Game. Rollins is fuming, but after Ambrose helps him calm down (Reigns staring a hole through Triple H in insane focus this entire time), Rollins says it is about intelligence; he had helped them craft the best laid out plan to go with this Sunday, and it would be deployed with success.

Hunter says that intelligence is taking your opportunity when you have it and running with it. He again admits he's got a massive ego and took every dirty trick in the book to be where he is today; he wonders if Rollins would have the guts to do the same when requested of him. Flair says intelligence is betting on what's been battle tested and battle proven! He says that no matter how much potential Roman Reigns has, one of the greatest of all time still had much in the tank and he would come raining down on his ass at Over the Limit!

Evolution then departs the ring, Reigns not switching his stare off of Triple H one inch. Before the show finally fades to black, Hunter does leave the trio with one reminder...''there is always a plan B.''

The New Day opens SmackDown, trash talking their Over the Limit opponents and the dissention ongoing between them; they take credit for breaking Chris Jericho, leading to his loss to Fandango. A surprise visitor in Randy Orton comes out, leading Kofi Kingston most of all to take a step forward. Woods asks Orton what gives, and Orton says the five of them have a pretty formidable thing going on here; the only problem is, it wasn't going to be sustainable. Orton says they saw their failures in the WWE as a social issue, but it was none of that. Kofi gets in Orton's face, and says he hates Orton's guts for what he did to him years ago. Orton smirks, confessing to being the reason why Kofi was shunted back down the card; but it was for the greater good! Orton says Kofi was stupid back then, and still is now. This merry band would lead him nowhere but to the waiting arms of the RKO tonight in their main event King of the Ring first round matchup.

Orton adds that he's never won the King of the Ring, and he would like to add that accolade to his ever growing list. Because like it or not, his career had far eclipsed all five of theirs put together and it would always be that way. Henry reminds Orton of that one time where he kicked his ass, stating he could do that again before his match with Kofi if he'd like. Orton dismisses that, and the loss as a slip. But he would not slip tonight against Kofi Kingston, where he'd once again denounce him as nothing but stupid and begin his quest to prevent this tournament from having a happy ending; for all supposed good things in the WWE were forever destined to end with the Age of Orton towering above them.

She says Kaitlyn would join Barbara and Paige in the ER when she was done with her. Kaitlyn continues to dismiss Becky's challenge as nothing more than ordinary, and that she had arranged the preparations for Over the Limit to end the same way everything has for the past year and a half. She sarcastically congratulates Becky for being grateful over sneak attacks, but all that mattered was the end result on Sunday, and she would be left greatly disappointed alongside her rapidly growing and already rabid fanbase, you can bank on that.

McIntyre comes out and replies to Punk by saying it had been long since someone needed to shunt Punk down a few pegs, his overhyped run that was a product of one massive hypocrite having given him a wrong notion of where he stood on the pecking order. He says it's fitting that it would be the future of this company to teach him a lesson at Over the Limit, a chance he had been anxiously waiting for.

As Batista retreats, Bryan utters something amongst the lines of wanting his opponent to be 100% in Chicago. That is the scene we're presented with, one timely alliance that promises not to last a second longer as SmackDown fades to black, we'll see you on Sunday!

NXT Takeover
May 29th, 2014
Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
OC: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and ???
Rating: C

Quote

Dark Match: Apollo Crews defeats Matt Taylor with Spinout Powerbomb.

Rating: D-
Time: 4:51

The show opens with the familiar sight of the Full Sail University going raucous with ''NXT!'' chants. Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton welcome us to the second ever NXT special in the WWE Network, hyping that the world was being taken by storm with the rise of NXT, and tonight, we would continue on the path of that Takeover!

NXT General Manager William Regal is the first man to come out of the curtain, welcoming the Full Sail University to what promises to be a monumental night in NXT's still young history. He compliments Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton for building an exceptional rapport as the commentary team for the brand, but with the departure of longtime fixture Renee Young, it was time for him to arrange a replacement, and so, it was his pleasure to introduce to the NXT fans...

Triple H?

The WWE COO comes out, greatly confusing the NXT General Manager. Hunter thanks Regal for all the work he's put out thus far, having been personally appointed by The Game for the job. But if no one's familiar with the fact that NXT is his brand to manage at the very top, they were about to, right about now. He had gone through Regal's list of replacements for Renee, and none of them quite matched his idea of a man who would bring more eyes to the product. But he had found that man, who effective immediately, would be joining Tom and Byron at the desk and would serve as his eyes and ears on NXT.

ERIC BISCHOFF!

A smile is in the face of the returning Eric Bischoff, who once fought tooth and nail to defeat the WWE, and was now once again working for his former enemy! A hug is in place between Bischoff and Hunter, with shades of 2002. Bischoff takes his seat alongside the two men, shaking their hands and noting how it's a pleasure to be around such an amazing, growing product that is NXT. With that, Hunter briefly glares at Regal with a smile, leaving the COO to tell the fans to enjoy the show and all the remaining surprises he's arranged for the night, because...

...WE ARE NXT!

Quote

bwIyc8Zs.jpgPgYxjaZ.jpgEhXalnos.jpg
Hideo Itami vs. Solomon Crowe

It would be a fast paced affair between two veterans of the squared circle that would get us started at Takeover, the maniacal tech expert Solomon Crowe having promised to expose Hideo Itami for who he truly is after defeating him in both men's first premiere match in NXT. Hideo would show to be tough opposition, stiff kicks and strikes to counter the madman's rapid fire offense. Crowe nearly had it when he locked in the dreaded Sleeper Hold that's given him success in NXT, but a second wind from Hideo Itami would have him reach the ropes, and after answering every move from Crowe with an even more effective one of his own, Solomon Crowe would be put to sleep in a major statement by NXT's first major signing during a Network special.

Backstage, Sami Zayn is alongside new backstage interviewer JoJo Offerman. JoJo asks Sami what his mindset is heading into tonight's match against Tyler Breeze, due to many claims that he simply can't get it done in big matches. Sami says he can't doubt himself if he is to succeed tonight. He's known his priorities while preparing for this match ever since it was announced, and now, it was time he made Breeze pay for facial treatment with the Helluva Kick that's got his name on it tonight. After that, it was on to winning the NXT Championship and putting his stamp on the brand for good.

Baron Corbin vs. Bull Dempsey

In stark contrast to the opening match, this one would be a short hoss fight where both men just looked to devour one another. In a fight for supremacy as to who the most dominant presence was in NXT, Baron and Bull took to outdoing one another with impactful power moves. Bull had a stretch where he could have taken this one home, but a missed Diving Headbutt gave Corbin the mean streak he needed to change the complexion of the match, and End of Days was enough to pin Bull's shoulders to the mat.

The Full Sail University is graced by the presence of a recent debut in Chuck Magnet, who questions how this company could have acquired his services and then neglected to include him in the show that everyone would be watching while still keeping a straight face. He says there are 30 hot babes just waiting for him at the hotel for his supposed night off, but he just couldn't leave this show hanging without providing it with a trademark Chuck Magnet legendary moment. So what he's going to do right now is streak naked throughout the ring and show how the big Chucky operated in big time moments just as he does, a sight to remember for the Full Sail University. The crowd has a collective gasp and curiosity if Chuck will actually do what he said, Bischoff saying he likes this kid's initiative.

A new addition to NXT in FINN BÁLOR puts an end to the Chuck Magnet Show of legendaryness, the crowd in awe of his every move as he proceeds to a slow strut to the ring followed by the lights shining down on him at key moments of a truly epic theme song. Inside the ring, Finn and Chuck stare each other down, Chuck having stripped down to his underwear, and as he tries to depart, he trips and falls over his pants, and as he struggles back to his feet, Finn hits him with a massive dropkick to the corner! He goes up for another big move, but Chuck is just able to escape. In any event, Finn Bálor is here and he's just made a huge statement on his first night in NXT!

NXT Tag Team Championship
Adam Rose & Mojo Rawley vs. The Ascension

This match was a true test to The Ascension's dominant title run, with the energetic team of Rose and Rawley meshing exceptionally well for their short time together. They figured to out pace the champions and not allow them to grind it out to their favor, but still, Konnor and Viktor were just too much in the end as the more experienced team. Konnor would put kill Mojo's hype for the night by clocking him with a stiff clothesline as he rebounded for Pounce, and Fall of Men followed to continue The Ascension's rise.

Konnor and Viktor once again emerge victorious at the end of a challenge, no matter how tough. Konnor raises the two championships as Viktor looks on in anger, who will be able to end their path of destruction in NXT?

#1 Contender's Match
Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze had enjoyed a swift rise to relevance in NXT, having defeated seasoned veteran R-Truth three months ago at ArRival. That same night, Sami Zayn had gone through what seemed to be a trend in his career, fighting valiantly in a big match but ultimately falling short. This dynamic brought the arrogant Breeze to keep taunting Sami every time he'd get a key nearfall in the match, mocking him that the next one would be a three count. Still, Sami would fight back every single time, captivating the Full Sail University as he looked to finally shed the negative perceptions about his professional self, though one must also congratulate Breeze on hanging with Sami and giving him a run for his money. In the end, after a major nearfall post-Beauty Shot brought by a narrow foot on the rope, Breeze would gloat a moment too long, bringing Sami to clock him with Blue Thunder Bomb, and Helluva Kick would be true, Sami making sure to pin Breeze far away from the ropes and becoming the next #1 Contender for the NXT Championship!

Following an emotional celebration from Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze is left fuming inside the ring, looking at his cellphone camera then becoming horrified at the wounds of the match showing in his face. Breeze grabs a microphone, and says he will make Sami pay, NXT had not seen the last of Tyler Breeze! He challenges Sami to return to the ring so they can finish what they started!

''In this day and time the strong survive...''

OH...MY...GOD...

IT'S ''COWBOY'' JAMES STORM! HE IS IN NXT!

Tyler Breeze and the Full Sail University are all shocked at the arrival of James Storm to the NXT stage, and before one can blink, Breeze is seen trying to hightail out of the ring before he can be dealt more punishment by the Cowboy, but Storm catches him, delivering Last Call on the stage! Storm picks up the mic in the ring, and he says it's about damn time someone was around here to teach them boys what a real wrestler looks like. They were about to have some real fun together.

''AND THIS RIGHT HERE, THIS IS CARMELLA! AND SHE'S HOT AS HELL. AND YOU CAN'T. TEACH. THAT!''

''BADA-BOOM, REALEST GUYS IN THE ROOM. HOW YOU DOIN'?''

After Enzo goes on a tirade against JTG on how him going bald tonight would be the most memorable thing he will ever have done in his career, it is time for Big Cass to take on the mic.

''JTG...Shad...it's time you boys got a reality check from the realest guys in the room. And after tonight when you go bald, JTG...THERE'S GOING TO BE ONLY ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE YOU, AND I'M GONNA. SPELL. IT. OUT. FOR YA!''

Hair vs. Hair Match
Enzo Amore (w/Carmella and Colin Cassady) vs. JTG (w/Shad Gaspard)

The smaller halves of two teams that have waged war with one another since last year for the rights to call itself the alpha dog team of New York City, would finally meet one on one here. Enzo had plenty of personal bones to pick with Cryme Tyme, having been laid out by them which would cost him months of his career a while back. While their colossal teammates watched on at ringside, along with new addition to the outspoken tandem of Enzo & Cass in Carmella, they had a rather unique match to say the least, trying to out-dirty the other with underhanded tactics. As Cass and Shad's mouthing off to one another finally led to the two trading blows, this would give Carmella enough time to distract JTG by standing up to him, which would allow Enzo to roll-up the neighborhoodie, a handful of tights out of the official's sight, Enzo gets redemption!

JTG pops up in shock as Enzo's hand is raised, with Shad looking to help his fellow Cryme Tyme partner out of the Full Sail University! However, the man seen during Enzo and Cass' foray at Carmella's hair salon suddenly appears with the completely sheared poodle dog Fifi, requesting to bring the two to justice. This distracts JTG and Shad just enough that Cass clocks big Shad with a boot to the face, dropping JTG in the process! Enzo scares off the man just by screaming how you doin' at him, leading to him and Cass lifting JTG to the barber's chair, and Carmella dropping the hair removal cream bucket in his head! The next time JTG stares at the mirror, he sees his precious hair all gone, and with that insult to injury, he is left to retreat in full defeat alongside the groggy Shad, licking his wounds as for tonight, the SAWFT trio has emerged fully victorious!

NXT Women's Championship
Melissa vs. Emma

The champion was perhaps as outmatched as she could have ever been here tonight, both due to the extra element of Alexa Bliss' presence and the unpredictability of what she could do in order to help Melissa to win, plus the fact that Melissa's ruthlessness and superior experience gave her the upper hand at multiple points in this match. Melissa herself looked rather uneasy every time she'd turn her attention to ringside and catch Alexa Bliss still staring at her with that damn smile, but this didn't take away from one of the better matches of the night as Melissa proved her claims that she could hang with NXT's best. Still, it would be the champion with enough resilience to absorb Melissa's punishment and still fight back with the adulation of the Full Sail University, #EmmaLock enough to make the challenger tap out and give Emma another signature win in her NXT tenure, having had no reason to worry about Alexa Bliss after all for tonight.

Rating: B-
Time: 15:48

Emma's celebration is as energetic as ever, and as she leaves the ring to bring the FSU to join her in dancing, Alexa slides in to the ring, a pout in her face and looking very worried at the defeated Melissa. She looks to help Melissa back to her feet, citing on how it was a ''great effort'' and ''they'' would get it done next time. Still, Melissa shows her frustration and again takes it out on Alexa, leveling her with an elbow to the nose that makes Alexa go crimson. The champion runs back to the ring after that sight, swinging the championship at Melissa and knocking her out for good. She seeks to help Alexa get help from the EMTs, however, Alexa just flashes her a big smile with her bloodied face, saying she doesn't need any, before skipping all the way out of there. As Emma turns back to Melissa and kneels to check her condition even after everything she's done to her, she is hit from behind by Charlotte with Natural Selection, at the approval of her father Ric Flair! Charlotte raises the NXT Women's Championship before dropping it at the fallen bodies of Emma and Melissa, message sent!

The same vignette that was shown during the past edition of NXT reappears, with shots of a frozen cabin as the words ''Winter is Coming'' appear on the screen.

NXT Championship
Jinder Mahal vs. Adrian Neville

Anyone who had seen Jinder Mahal as a mere formality of a challenger for Adrian Neville would be proven quite wrong in this match, as Jinder's hunger to prove himself worthy and of the same caliber as the men he's been associated with in the past brought by a far more aggressive game out of him, seeking to make quick work of Neville and his NXT Championship run. Still, the champion was not a man to be doubted himself, and his innovative arsenal had answers for Jinder all the way through. It would be a tough and competitive matchup, but even with Jinder's tremendous effort that must be commended, the savvy Neville would slip out of the Khallas, leveling the challenger with a frankensteiner followed by Red Arrow, the pinfall all but academic, retaining the top prize in NXT after a very solid main event.

Adrian Neville is handed the NXT Championship, and as he raises it high, still the top competitor in the up and coming brand, he is greeted at the top of the stage by the sight of his next challenger in Sami Zayn! Sami points at the champion, nodding and applauding, an obvious aura of respect between these two, but sooner or later, they would wage war for the top prize in NXT. Thank you for tuning in to NXT Takeover, and good night!

Post-Show Notes: I'm cancelling a formal prediction contest for the time being due to the lack of predictions for all three events I've put it up so far. If people request a return in the future, I'm open to doing one again. I'll still put up predictions for fun if anyone ever wants to try their stake at it, but there will be no prizes until stated otherwise. Over the Limit will probably be posted within the next couple of days as I keep tinkering with the format for pay-per-views in the new forum.

WWE Sunday Night Heat
June 1st, 2014 (part of the Over the Limit Kickoff Show)
OC: Josh Mathews, Byron Saxton and Matt Striker

- Vickie Guerrero cuts a promo on the Cruiserweight Invitational, lamenting the loss of Xion as she had handpicked him as an addition to the match. She wishes him a speedy recovery, and urges the fans to tune in to the Kickoff on YouTube or the WWE Network in order to find out who will be the next opponent for Alex Shelley. (B+)

- Ricardo Rodriguez defeats Primo with an impressive Corkscrew Moonsault. (B-)

- Derrick Bateman cuts a promo, returning from a stint of learning law at the makeshift Otunga School in order to have a better hands-on approach with The Conspiracy. He says that he was at the top one percent of his class, which made him realize just how superior he is to the rest of the pack in the WWE. He says it's been long enough that Derrick Bateman has orchestrated in the shadows...it was time for him to prove to the higher-ups what an asset he is to this company. (B)

- Derrick Bateman defeats Shannon Moore with One Percenter. (B-)

- Batista and Daniel Bryan are seen arriving at Allstate Arena. (B+)

- Alex Shelley, Fandango, Justin Gabriel, Rob Van Dam & Sin Cara (w/Richie Steamboat and Summer Rae) defeat Christopher James Parker, Mason Ryan, Tyson Kidd & The Gatebusters (w/Natalya) with Last Dance by Fandango on Parker. (B-)

- Renee Young interviews an arriving John Cena about how he's feeling just a few hours before he'll be forced to make moral decisions that will impact either his or friend Zack Ryder's career. Cena says it's been a tough week for sure, other men have preyed on him now more than ever due to his emotional vulnerability, but he thinks he may have come away with the best possible outcome for tonight, or at least, he hopes so. (A+)

maxresdefault.png

The Over the Limit Kickoff Show is as always brought to you by the analyst panel, led by Renee Young! This time, she's once more accompanied by WWE Hall of Famers ''Rowdy'' Roddy Piper, ''The Million Dollar Man'' Ted DiBiase and JBL! Renee runs down the card on a night where friendships will be tested, one of two longtime rivals will prove superiority over the other as they force them to say I Quit, and we might see the final night of Batista as a competitor in the WWE.

First of all, the panel laments Xion's unfortunate cancer diagnosis as Renee says they wish to see him healthy and 100% in that WWE ring as soon as possible, sending all the love to him, his family and fans.

She runs down each man for them to pick their favorite match of the night. Piper says he had seen firsthand what an unbreakable will a Steamboat possesses, so his eyes were most certainly going to be glued to that ring once Ricky's kid entered the den of Rusev. Sure, everyone who had challenged the brute thus far had gotten their teeth kicked in, but he had seen crazier, and if this was Richie's old man, Rusev would be in for the fight of his life. That should definitely be enough motivation for Richie Steamboat to bring his A game tonight. JBL says he's got his attention on the World Heavyweight Championship bout, as he's been in the ring with The Animal multiple times throughout his career and bore the brunt of his punishment in big time situations. He says Daniel Bryan has had a wonderful run so far, but if Batista got just a slight bit of momentum in his favor tonight, JBL feels we could have a new champion, a reminder of just why Batista is such a dangerous competitor and a multi-time world champion.

DiBiase picks the handicap match between John Cena and Alex Riley & Zack Ryder, stating that you can just feel the conflict in the three men's eyes. He says Zack Ryder has scratched and clawed to earn such an opportunity of this caliber again, and now that he did, it would be nothing but stupid to give it up in favor of a one-sided friendship with John Cena. As for Cena himself, DiBiase knew he wouldn't hold back either, because everyone's got a price, and Triple H had named Cena's in this match's stipulation. His ego just would not allow him to lose to two men who in his mind, were so much lower in the totem pole than he is. Even moreso when the stakes have been raised for this year's King of the Ring, and the word everywhere is that Cena really wants the crown.

Renee then directs us to the ring, it's time for the Vickie Guerrero Cruiserweight Invitational!

Over the Limit Kickoff Show: Vickie Guerrero Cruiserweight Invitational

Much like the Divas Invitational at WrestleMania, this was an individual entrant into 1v1 matchup affair that spanned 15 of the top cruiserweights from all around the world, previously a part of the WWE or otherwise. Unlike that Divas encounter, familiarity would be thrown aside as most of these new faces were getting their first shot at the spotlight, and they would not hold back in attempting to grab the opportunity. We begin with Ricardo Rodriguez and eerie dutchman Aleister Black, who absolutely decimates Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer with exquisite footwork. Black has an impressive run in the match with five personal eliminations, until he meets his match in NXT's Kalisto, who finishes Black's night with Salida del Sol. Next for Kalisto is the first surprise entrant in the match in the form of Rockstar Maverick, who gives him a run for his money before also falling victim to Salida del Sol. Kalisto and Hunico have a back and forth lucha style encounter, and Averno proves to be the key as he pulls Kalisto's leg from ringside, leading to Falling Star from Hunico. Hunico then impresses with three eliminations of his own, but impressive newcomer TJ Perkins would pull a fast one, proving Hunico to be completely unprepared for him and submitting him with a figure four. TJP then disposes of former Cruiserweight Champion Shark Boy, with just two more entrants to go.

TOCvXFis.jpg

The second to last entrant is the apparent leader of the Stardust brigade in the Red colored one, and much like Perkins had shocked Hunico earlier, the Red Stardust proves to be too much for Perkins with an unorthodox style of offense, not being afraid to get dirty and rough while also just barely avoiding disqualification. As the Stardust has TJ reeling, he hits the Dark Matter, but just as he is about to pin TJ, the Green and Blue Stardusts join the fray at ringside, shaking their head negatively while repeatedly shouting that ''it's not in the cards''. The Red stardust complies, leaving the ring and getting himself purposely counted out, the Allstate Arena flabbergasted at why exactly he would do that, but the Stardusts, at least for now, seem not to be an issue any longer. One entrant remaining.

''EXCUSE ME!''

Vickie Guerrero, the new Cruiserweight Consultant herself, says it's time for the final entrant in the Invitational, as she does, she has saved the best for last!

tf7efyUs.jpg

Vickie's nephew Chavo Guerrero is the final entrant, and as TJ Perkins has been left downed and out courtesy of the Red Stardust, Chavo takes the opportunity for the easy one with a Frog Splash! An easy three count follows, and we are left wondering if this was an elongated plot just to get Chavo back to the WWE on a big stage. Either way, it worked!

Rating: C+
Time: 24:33

We are back to the analyst panel of Renee, Hot Rod, DiBiase and JBL next, with Renee staring speechless at what just took place. She asks if any of the men had a clue in the world that Chavo Guerrero was going to be here tonight and that he would be the winner of it all. JBL says he knows Chavo Guerrero and he is a man who's always just needed that one chance to break through the glass ceiling. He says he has aged like fine wine, and as soon as that music hit, he knew Chavo had become the favorite to win it all as he would have predicted if he had known beforehand. Hot Rod says that Chavo has inherited his uncle's willingness to do whatever it takes to come away with the win, and he could not wait to see him in that ring again to see what these extra years of experience had taught him. With that, Renee welcomes their special guest of the night, a hometown hero, a man who once had an intense rivalry with Chavo Guerrero, and who tonight will be facing his former advocate Paul Heyman's prized client Drew McIntyre, former multi-time world champion CM Punk!

mGZTIcAs.jpg

Punk thanks Renee and the panel for having him, as the Chicago crowd goes ballistic with CM Punk chants. Renee asks Punk if he feels in any way that if not tonight but eventually, age will catch up to him and allow a man like Drew McIntyre to capitalize and make a name for themselves off of Punk's back. Punk says eventually the time for that to happen always comes to all of them, see the three men in the panel with him right now (leading to all three to stare at each other in insult). But he says that time was not tonight or any time soon. He says he just came off of an 868 day WWE Championship run, and Drew McIntyre had been looking to piggyback off of the immediate fallout of that by pretending that all that time, Punk had disrespected him as the golden boy that McIntyre is, having been promised anything and everything by Vince McMahon when he was still here. Punk says he wants to tell McIntyre something, and that is, he never disrespected him when they were associates. The fact of the matter is, he never paid any attention to McIntyre period. This chosen one narrative is the same one that's been used with Hogan and Cena, but at least these men had the capability to captivate audiences, as gullible as these audiences may have been. McIntyre was still deeply unproven in every step of the way, well tonight, he'd get a taste of the big time when he'd get in that ring and listen to 18 grand fans booing him the hell out of his (Punk's) building, only he will stop hearing that by the end of their match, because he would be put to sleep for good, and that is a guarantee. Punk says he never pegged Paul Heyman for a guy who'd place his bets on hype, rather someone who'd do that based on results. Well, results were here to shove his bet down the drain. He says after he's done taking care of these loose ends with Heyman and McIntyre, he would be able to focus entirely on winning this year's King of the Ring tournament, as he should due to his part as the best wrestler in the WWE today. After that, he would then look to become a world champion once again, because that's just what CM Punk is, a winner, a champion, a man who tells you exactly what he will do and exactly what will happen.

The Allstate Arena again gives a thunderous reaction to their hometown hero CM Punk, and as he turns from the panel to open his arms and bring their reaction to an apex, Renee thanks him for his time, and tells the fans to tune in to the WWE Network for Over the Limit, next!

Ryback, Sheamus & Vitamin C vs. The New Day (w/Mark Henry)

This was as frantic an opening match as you could get, the extremely young yet rapidly growing in notoriety group of the New Day competing together in their first big match under the mantle. Even with that in mind, all four competing displayed impeccable chemistry with one another, their in-ring styles meshing perfectly together. They were still tasked with outlasting four of the more well known talents the WWE has to offer today, and in the case of Ryback and Sheamus, they would back down their words with gusto, taking the fight to The New Day and not backing down one inch. On the other half of that team, Vitamin C looked rather unstable as Jericho suddenly turned a switch and became noticeably uninterested in the match, depleting the momentum that he and Christian had been building beforehand. This would be the catalyst for The New Day to turn the tide of the match for good, and Captain Charisma would be met with Big Ending, The New Day prevailing and establishing they mean business.

The four are joined by Mark Henry in the ring, the full group looking very imposing in victory. At ringside, Christian questions what's been happening with partner Jericho, who is now completely stone faced, leaving the three empty handed and without any answers whatsoever.

WWE World Tag Team Championship
The Wyatt Family (w/Bray Wyatt and Judas Devlin) vs. The Usos (w/Naomi)

Out of all the tests The Usos had received to their title reign that began the night after WrestleMania, this proved to be the toughest of them all so far, as two massive roadblocks in the Wyatt Family's Harper and Rowan showcased their savagery in an all-out brawl that the champions surprisingly matched them on tit for tat during stretches. The Usos would hold the aerial advantage, but whenever that couldn't work out for them, they'd be worn down and find themselves in jeopardy of losing the championships as Bray Wyatt's brothers smothered them with impressive power moves and even some athletic prowess shown by Luke Harper. Still, The Usos would gather one more stretch of positive momentum, leveling Harper and isolating Rowan with their pristine teamwork; but just as they looked to hit Alley-Us, Bray Wyatt would storm the ring from out of nowhere and ram through Jimmy Uso, an obvious disqualification in favor of the champions.

Rating: B
Time: 13:47

Jey looks to aid his brother, but he is quickly put down as Judas Devlin joins the rest of The Wyatt Family in cutting him down until he is left laying down in the mat alongside Jimmy. Naomi slides in, looking greatly worried about her fiance while risking it all in the face of danger. Bray smiles and cackles, telling Naomi there's nothing more to worry about tonight, darling. He says that it is a fact that his brothers will be taking the championships from The Usos, but that they had decided if they just did it on the first attempt, it'd be too easy for them. He says he really tried to convince them otherwise, but they had insisted in elongating the pain until they were done playing with The Usos, only then they would rip away the material form that the blood brothers considered as the culmination of a miserable life and career. Bray tells them they still have a few more days under the sun before clockwork strikes, but that it might not all be smiles and celebrations for them until then...things were about to get very painful on a personal level, very, very soon.

Winners Take All Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the WWE United States Championship
Brad Maddox & Heath Slater vs. John Morrison & The Miz

Analysts had pegged Miz and Morrison as easy favorites for this matchup before the event not only due to their superior track record as a team, but also due to how unproven the former Intercontinental Champion's partner in Brad Maddox has been in his career up to this point. Any questions about Maddox's focus were quickly answered as he took to Slater's call and gave the champs all that he had, combined with the cunning of Slater for one competitive outing. Slater seemed to be frustrated in general due to the champions' treatment of him headed into this match, and he had numerous nearfalls that kept giving him more and more arguments to keep on the pressure, JR stating that Slater was out here proving he was just as capable a competitor as Miz and Morrison are. Still, Miz and Morrison were on the same page themselves, and they were unwilling to part ways with their respective championships so soon, double teaming Maddox to great success before Morrison finished him off with Starship Pain.

Backstage, Miz and Morrison are thrown some gatorade on top of their heads by the third part of the Dirt Sheet trio in Becky Lynch, congratulating them on their big win. Miz and Morrison thank her, before pep talking her that they know she will make great use of her first major opportunity later tonight, and thank God for that, because no one likes anything or anyone associated with Stephanie McMahon. Becky embraces the champs, vowing to join them in the celebration later tonight, and that she'd make Kaitlyn submit in order to become the new Divas Champion.

Renee Young is backstage with the two halves of a match that was confirmed for the King of the Ring during the Kickoff Show, the Cruiserweight Champion Alex Shelley and his next challenger, a returning Chavo Guerrero! Renee asks the two men about what they are feeling heading into this unique match in 4 weeks. Shelley says he came to the WWE to show he's the king of the cruiserweights. He'd certainly welcome a challenge from someone who was a part of one of the greatest wrestling families, but that didn't change anything come King of the Ring. He'd pull double, triple, quadruple duty and both retain his title while also winning the prestigious tournament. Chavo says it had been 3 years, and when Vickie made the call to him, he seized the moment. He says the Guerreros are warriors of the ring, and he would seek to make his familia proud by once again being crowned the Cruiserweight Champion at the King of the Ring.

World Heavyweight Championship
Batista (w/Ric Flair) vs. Daniel Bryan

Much as JBL had pointed out during the Kickoff Show, Batista was still as dangerous a competitor as ever, and he looked to prove it here against a man whose rise to the top he despised in Daniel Bryan, while also saving his career and becoming World champion in the process. This match wasn't a sound wrestling affair like the champion's usual offerings, instead it was bowling shoe ugly and it favored The Animal greatly. Bryan would go deep and dirty with Batista's style in order to survive, though Batista would continue to level him with crushing blows at multiple points during the match. Both men then sought to lock in their signature submission holds late, until Batista had enough of Bryan barely escaping his grasp, lifting him up for a simple yet effective Spinebuster, one that Bryan countered into a Guillotine that he seamlessly transitioned into Yes Lock! Batista gasped and scratched and clawed as his mentor Ric Flair watched on in desperation, but much like Naitch, his in-ring career would come to an end, as he had to call it quits at Over the Limit, much to the joy of the Allstate Arena!

The painful departure of Batista alongside Ric Flair is completely overshadowed by a booming YES! Movement, fueling Daniel Bryan to join them in commemorating another grueling but successful defense from the fighting champion.

All or Nothing
Alex Riley & Zack Ryder (w/Courtney Taylor) vs. John Cena

This was an unique predicament for all three men that they had not found themselves in before tonight. Riley, a man who hated John Cena with all his guts, teaming up with a longtime friend of John Cena who he had also become very close with during their year teaming together. Cena had everything to lose for personal pride in this match if he were not to take part in the King of the Ring that was to honor his fallen friend Jerry Lawler, but he also knew deep down if he went with himself, Zack Ryder would suffer greatly. And so, Cena looked quite hesitant to start off this match against Ryder, perhaps debating what was more important to himself. This would infuriate Alex Riley, who force tagged himself into the match and leveled Cena with a hard punch to the face before berating Cena for being a backstabbing snake. This awakened a wrath in John Cena, one rarely seen in a man who keeps his values to a tee, and quite frankly, Alex Riley poking the bear was the worst thing he could have done as he was clobbered and outperformed by Cena in every turn, not being given room to breathe. AA would put him out of commission, and as Zack Ryder stared at Cena with an expression of his hope slowly fading away, Cena pinned Riley's shoulders to the mat en route to winning this war of morality by order of challenging his own. At the end of it all, John Cena ended up choosing himself over his dear friend.

John Cena immediately sits down in the middle of the ring, not accepting to have his arm raised by Jack Doan, as Zack Ryder is visibly distressed by the fact he has once again let opportunity pass straight by him in favor of not triggering conflict with Cena. Alex Riley is down and out, and it all gets worse immediately as the fire booms and Kane makes his way to the ring, his demonic cackle heard throughout Allstate Arena. Kane utters someting amongst the lines of Cena finally being on his way to embracing the hate, before grasping he and Ryder by the throat and dropping them with a double chokeslam, one with twisted joy from the Big Red Machine! Kane stands tall as backstage, cameras catch Curt Hawkins and Trent Barreta watching everything from a monitor, Hawkins especially shaking his head in disgust as the two leave the room.

The International Sensation Sin Cara comes to the ring, not having a match tonight, but requesting that Rey Mysterio come face to face with him in the ring. The dejected Mysterio does indeed answer the call, but dismissing Cara by telling him there's nothing else to be said. Cara says there definitely is, Rey just has to tell him what he can do in order to help him regain his form, and Rey tells him to invent a time machine if that is the case in order for him not to make the wrong decisions and be forced to pair up with Alberto Del Rio. Cara says the things Rey did while with Del Rio are nowhere near as impactful as everything he did before that. He says that's what his fans look back the most fondly upon, and he knew Rey had more left in the tank in order to create even more magic. He just had to find it in himself. Rey says he doesn't see how that can be possible, requesting that Sin Cara stop going after him to try and revitalize his career, all good things must come to an end and all his will had been swiftly sucked from inside him by Cara, Del Rio and the whole lot of them. Cara says he knows this is not Rey Mysterio talking, and says he will find a way to make him see that as well. He says one way or another, he was going to force the true Rey Mysterio to find his way back to the spotlight.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre (w/Paul Heyman)

These two men who had a bone to pick with the other were at a crossroads in their careers when it came to past success and were also looking for momentum heading into their King of the Ring first round matchups. Punk had recently come off of one legendary title run while looking for more. McIntyre was still in pursuit of a major championship, and the Best in the World was precisely the opponent he needed to show a broader audience that he was on a mission. Punk obviously held the technical advantage and the Rosemont crowd ate up all his offense throughout this match, but McIntyre didn't shrink under the bright lights and he targeted Punk's back throughout the affair, looking to affect Punk's speed and the effectiveness of the GTS. It was looking as if even with his A game, McIntyre had bitten more than he could chew, with Punk riding the wave of a comeback courtesy of the hometown reception feeding him the strength to continue. However, McIntyre's strategy would prove to be astute, as Punk struggled to lift the Scotsman for Go To Sleep due to the punishment he had received during the match, leading McIntyre to hook in the Future Shock DDT, one monumental win for the young and rising sinister Chosen One over the recent former WWE Champion that would deflate the Rosemont crowd to McIntyre's pleasure!

WWE Divas Championship
Becky Lynch vs. Kaitlyn

The two women have a staredown as Mike Chioda raises the Divas Championship and gets ready to signal for the bell to ring, but...

CXHQLnSs.jpg

Majority Owner and Kaitlyn's mentor in Stephanie McMahon struts down the aisle, causing Mike Chioda to hold off on starting the match as per her instructions. Becky is left befuddled as to why, though Kaitlyn remains calm, cool and collected with her usual air of arrogance. Stephanie is seen giving Mike Chioda a few instructions, and after a few moments of a discussion, Chioda returns to Lilian Garcia to announce something.

''Ladies and gentlemen, this match will now be held under No Disqualifications!''

The announcement is confusing to Becky, who shrugs and takes it as a positive, advancing towards the champion for a full frontal assault and trying to take her by surprise!

Before Becky can react, she is met in the ring by the massive frame of Kharma, who clobbers her before lifting her up for a powerful Implant Buster! Becky is out cold, the monster leaving the ring only under the shouting orders of Stephanie McMahon, who also orders for the bell to ring as the setup is now obvious to the booing audience!

Kaitlyn cowardly and arrogantly mouths off to the motionless Becky that ''karma comes to all deserving of it'', before lifting her off the canvas for the Gutbuster-Spear combo and hooking the leg for the successful pinfall. There was never a chance of a reaction from the challenger in this one.

Kaitlyn cockily simulates having had a hard fought match by wiping off imaginary sweat from her forehead as she is handed the championship by an elated Steph, the two once again having decimated the competition, though this time with extra outside help. Speaking of that, Kharma turns to the two with a sick glare, before starting to shout ''Tick...tock...tick...tock...'' at them as she slowly leaves the scene. Stephanie is seen gulping as Kaitlyn is confused for a moment as to what gives, though not enough to remove the overall smugness of her aura. For now, Kaitlyn was still the champion, her reign continuing to tack on to its dominance.

Richie Steamboat vs. Rusev (w/Lana)

JR immediately points out that Richie had chosen to come out to this match without mentor and lifeline in former Intercontinental Champion Justin Gabriel, proof of his headstrong and courageous nature. Richie brings the fight to Rusev initially, surprising him with chops and an aerial offense akin to his old man's. However, a quick Flying Crossbody counter into a backbreaker put this match in Rusev's favor for good, as he dominated the rest of the way. He savored the pain he was causing the young dragon, and The Accolade added another victim to the brute's ever growing resume.

Rusev refuses to release the vicious hold, Richie having been out like a light for minutes on end. Lana encourages her client as Rusev screams and adds on to the pressure.

OUT. COMES. BIG SHOW!

''The World's Largest Athlete'' makes a beeline to Rusev, having been brutally attacked by him back at Extreme Rules the previous month. Show misses out on the WMD as Rusev barely escapes. He then serves as a human shield with his large fist cocked and ready for action to scare Rusev from thinking of returning, and eventually after Rusev leaves entirely, Justin Gabriel joins the duo and a myriad of EMTs and officials in the ring, checking on his protege's health.

Roman Reigns vs. Triple H

''Cut the music.''

Triple H, sledgehammer in hand, orders the operator to cut The Shield's theme song as Roman Reigns makes his entrance.. Reigns' expression of focus doesn't change as he continues to stare at The Game. He says finally, he has the leader of The Shield face to face, right in front of him; or is it just that his teammates were too much of weaklings to take initiative? This predictably brings out a fast approaching Dean Ambrose from the crowd with Seth Rollins right behind him at a slower pace, and Ambrose savagely rushes in on The Game! With Randy Orton injured and Batista having lost to Daniel Bryan earlier, Ric Flair is the only help The Game has, and he's held back by Rollins! A clothesline to the outside has Hunter grimacing in pain, and it seems as if he's injured his leg. Officials come to check in, doing the best in their power to prevent Ambrose from continuing the assault as Charles Robinson signals that Triple H will be unable to compete tonight. Reigns seems to be angered, but he doesn't move an inch, Ambrose and Rollins regrouping with him and the latter trying to calm him down as Ambrose shouts obscenities at the COO.

I Quit Match for the WWE Championship
Austin Aries vs. AJ Styles

Another chapter in this storied rivalry took place here, as the two men looked to leave the other bloodied and battered with not as many usual attempts to force the other to say I Quit as you would see in such a match until very late. They would quickly take the fight to the outside, going through the crowd of the Allstate Arena and using their sorroundings to their advantage, including a nasty Styles Clash on a production crate. Aries would regain the advantage by going low, and a critical point would be reached as he looked to Brainbuster Styles on the steel. Styles would fight off, but Aries would still instinctively superkick the WWE Champion, who would fall onto a stack of tables. Aries would be furious at the fact that even then, Styles was unwilling to utter the words that would crown him as superior, and so he retrieved duct tape from under the ring with evil intentions in mind. With a last gasp, Styles would trip The Greatest Man That Ever Lived onto the table splinters, and though AJ couldn't get back to his feet, he'd act quickly to duct tape Aries' leg onto the broken table base, binding him to that as Styles applied Calf Killer with the support of that setup! Aries grimaced in pain and resisted for as long as he could, but in the end, he was forced to say I Quit, bringing this saga to an end with another point to The Phenomenal!

AJ Styles is entirely spent as he's handed the WWE Championship, and through his pain he's able to climb back to the stage and soak in the adulation, as he's finally been overcome this major issue as a winner! As AJ leaves, Austin Aries is seen rolling through the floor, hurting greatly as the officials work to remove the duct tape from his legs.

A thunderous ovation is heard as Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way over to Aries, and in true Stone Cold fashion he stomps a mudhole through the man who defeated him at WrestleMania! Payback is a bitch on this night, and Aries eats a Stunner! Austin returns to the ring and performs his signature celebration by raising his arms on all turnbuckles and cracking open a few cold ones, sending the Allstate Arena home on a frenzy! Thank you and good night, everybody!
