NWF: Disrupting The Market

I fully agree with the Dangermouth/Triple Threat criticism. Dangermouth's involvement is an interesting one, I took the decision to delay his introduction for character development reasons, but that meant I couldn't develop a proper storyline in one show - I'd already rushed Mallory/Beauchamp though in one confrontation, and didn't want to do that for two matches. So I decided to go for character building with the angles... but once my show was set up I was way too high on angles vs matches (events need 80% matches). So I had to remove a Future X celebration angle, and add the Triple Threat Tag match to pad out the card a bit and get within the match/angle guideline.

The way I look at shows, I don't tend to consider the Semi-Main Event in my planning. I put my best match as Main Event and my next best as the opener, then everything else gets slotted in trying to manage the crowd reaction (in game). I put the triple threat in ahead of the Heartbreakers angle as a bit of a cooldown ahead of two strong angles and the Main Event. I think this works fine to TV, but may review for my PPVs/special presentations going forwards. :)

Exactly. When I said that about pre-main event that is my personal view for PPVs, not TV shows. When I watch a PPV IRL, the few times I've seen a match like that before the Main Event has been too much cooling down. I also tend to use my best match in the Main Event and another good one to open the show. Usually my second match is the weakest or the one that has been built the least.

Your Announce Team: Jackie Goldstein & Melanie Florence

Jackie Goldstein: “Hello and welcome back to National Wrestling, once again streaming exclusively on demand at WrestleWorld GB! My name is Jackie Goldstein and, as always, Melanie Florence joins me at ringside. What a night we have in store Melanie… all the fallout from Locked & Loaded, and of course Chuck Frisby will finally be showing the “qualifications” he promised last week!”

Melanie Florence: “The brand new NWF Cruiserweight Championship will also be on the line in tonight’s Main Event, with new champion Welsh Dragon defending his belt against “Magic” Martin Heath!”

Jackie Goldstein: “What a match that promises to be! And here comes NWF Commissioner Leo “The Lion” Price to open the show!”

Melanie Florence: “He still hasn’t responded to my complaint against the VIP staff on Sunday night! Hey Leo… Leo!”

LeoPrice.jpg.e2970b9c96c4cb19ec025954d2c4be5c.jpg

NWF Commissioner Leo Price made his way down to the ring to a good ovation from the crowd. Melanie Florence continued to try to get the commissioners attention, but “The Lion” had a microphone in hand and looked like he meant business.

Leo Price: “What a night it was on Sunday night! Locked & Loaded was a huge success, but there was just one thing that soured the night…”

On commentary, Melanie Florence perked up and displayed her pleasure that the commissioner was FINALLY going to address the injustice against the Heartbreaks that was carried out in the VIP area.

Leo Price: “I am of course talking about what happened in the Main Event…”

Melanie Florence immediately deflated.

Leo Price: “What should have been a landmark match in the history of the NWF is now forever tainted by the actions of Mo Adebola. Nate Manchester hit the Manc-Sault and, I believe, should rightfully be NWF British Heavyweight Champion. For that reason, I am officially announcing that next month at ‘Last Orders’ Edison Silva will be defending his newly won title against “The Angel Of The North” Nate Manchester!”

The crowd popped at the announcement, but the cheers quickly turned to boos as the music of Edison Silva hit and the new NWF British Heavyweight Champion walked out alongside his lawyer Mo Adebola.

Picture/Picture

Mo Adebola: “Ladies and gentleman; please let me introduce the reigning and RIGHTFUL NWF British Heavyweight Champion – Edison Silva!”

The MMA fighter raised the title above his head to a chorus of boos as Adebola and Silva continued their walk down to the ring.

Mo Adebola: “And as for you ‘commissioner’ it really doesn’t matter what you think…”

Leo Price: “Unfortunately for you Mo, for as long as I’m commissioner around here, my opinion DOES matter.”

Mo Adebola smirked as he stepped into the ring, taking a moment to pull a folded up letter out of his pocket.

Mo Adebola: “Well that’s the thing Leo, I’m not sure how much longer you will be commissioner. This morning I raised an official complaint with the NWF board, which they have accepted. This letter is an official summons for a disciplinary meeting next week.”

Adebola handed over the note to a dumbfounded Leo Price.

Leo Price: “A disciplinary meeting? On what grounds?”

Mo Adebola: “I submitted evidence of clear workplace discrimination against my client, which was accepted by the board as a legitimate grievance. I can of course share this evidence with you ahead of the hearing…”

Leo Price (angrily): “Share it with my lawyer! You won’t get away with this Mo, I’ll see you next week!”

“The Lion” stormed out of the ring, leaving a very smug looking Mo Adebola standing alongside his client. On commentary, Jackie Goldstein expressed his disgust that Adebola had cheated in the match on Sunday but it was Leo Price who was now on the hook! Melanie Florence speculated whether Leo Price’s announcement of a rematch at ‘Last Orders’ was still valid given the disciplinary announcement…

“Captain Crash” Cain Carlile VS Rhys Vali

This was a fun back and forth match-up between two Lightweights who were both looking to secure their first victory in the NWF. While the match went back and forth with both men on top for periods, it was “Captain Crash” who was able to land his Mark of Cain (Lionsault) to secure the win!

Dangermouth.jpg.8fb2fad2f8b4dd8b24521745e817c93e.jpg

Grime star Dangermouth made his way down to the ring next, surrounded once again by his entourage. We are reminded that at Locked & Loaded Dangermouth’s VIP area had been ‘invaded’ by The Heartbreaks, culminating in Bret Heartbreak throwing a flute of champagne over Dangermouth… something the grime star had not taken lightly.

Dangermouth: “Bret Heartbreak, Sunday night you break into MY VIP area and throw MY champagne over me in front of my boys? Bro if you want to hang VIP then you got to go through me, you get me? So why don’t you get your ass out here?”

Bret Heartbreak appears from the back with his usual smug grin on his face.

BretHeartbreak.jpg.79ea87e34e71bf7acea1a40b3d2a8f84.jpg

Bret Heartbreak: “I don’t want to ‘hang’ with you anywhere, but if it’s a match you want then I’m more than happy to embarrass you in front of your boys again…”

Dangermouth VS Bret Heartbreak

A bit of a car crash match here, with the street smart Dangermouth looking to turn this one into a brawl. The grime star seemed caught off guard by how capable Bret Heartbreak, with his luscious blonde locks, was in this environment. The two men brawled back and forth, with a series of near falls. Heartbreak pushed Dangermouth to the wire but, much to Melanie Florence’s disappointment on commentary, it was the grime star who was able to hit his Flatliner (Reverse STO) to secure a hard fought victory.

Next we’re treated to an appearance from Chuck Frisby, who is joined by his client Dwayne Dark. Rachel Dearheart awaits the personal trainer in the ring. Jackie Goldstein reminds us that last week on National Wrestling, Chuck Frisby promised to show us his “credentials” as a personal trainer after Rachel Dearheart had brought his training methods into question. It is clear from Goldstein’s tone that he holds severe doubts over these “credentials”.

Rachel Dearheart: “Welcome Chuck. Last week on National Wrestling you promised to show these people concrete evidence of your credentials as a personal trainer. So I guess the stage is yours…”

Chuck Frisby: “Before we get started, I just wanted to say that I have never been so insulted in my entire career as a personal trainer. To have my training methods questioned by people like these” (Chuck motions out at the crowd) “Is an insult to the years of work I have put into the training philosophies behind the Frisby Foundation for Fitness program. Training philosophies perfected by working with athletes at the very top of their sports…”

Rachel Dearheart rolled her eyes before cutting across Chuck: “Do you have any names you’d like to share?”

Chuck Frisby: “As a matter of fact Rachel, yes I do. Without any further ado, allow me to introduce your Olympic hero and mine – “The Celtic Hammer” Stuart Wilson!”

StuartWilson.jpg.e123bf3effc266e7b5646fbae876f9de.jpg

It was hard to judge who looked more shocked, Rachel Dearheart or Jackie Goldstein. Even Dwayne Dark looked caught off guard as the former Olympic bronze medalist appeared from the back. Wilson strode confidentially to the ring, wearing his 2012 Olympic bronze medal around his neck, and immediately shook Chuck Frisby’s hand.

Chuck Frisby: “Back in 2012 Stuart Wilson won a bronze medal for Great Britain in a home Olympic Games! People talk about the top 1% of athletes, well an Olympic medallist is in the top 1% of that 1%! And Stuart Wilson got there by following the very same training philosophies as I provide in Frisby’s Foundation for Fitness!”

Stuart Wilson: “That’s right. When I took on Chuck as a consultant coach back in 2010 I was an outside shot at qualifying for the 2012 games, but Chuck showed me that not only could I make the team but I could win this Olympic medal! Chuck Frisby helped me achieve a dream I’d held since I was a kid, and will always be “coach” to me.”

Chuck Frisby: “So from now on you can call me “Your Olympic Coach”. Because my name is Chuck Frisby and I’m here to tackle England’s obesity crisis one doubter at a time!”

Frisby and Wilson shook hands again, and Frisby asked Rachel Dearheart “How’s that for credentials?” Jackie Goldstein remained shocked on commentary, asking if this is some kind of strange prank…

Grant Taypen & Leighton Buzzard VS The Northern Lights (Alton Vicious & Riddick Jordan)

Both of these teams were involved in a Triple Threat tag match at Locked & Loaded on Sunday, where The Northern Lights picked up the victory, but Taypen & Buzzard weren’t pinned. The Northern Lights held a distinct size advantage in this one, meaning that Taypen & Buzzard had to rely on their speed advantage if they wanted to come out on top.

Leighton Buzzard had some success early on, using his speed to maintain distance and pick his spots against Riddick Jordan. However, Grant Taypen lacked the speed to do the same and The Northern Lights power advantage soon began to show. Riddick Jordan showed off his array of Suplexes as he dominated his smaller opponent.

Late in the match, Taypen was able to make the tag to Buzzard – who had been stewing on the apron and hit the ring hot. Buzzard hit Jordan with a Front Dropkick that sent the Middleweight crashing back into his own corners turnbuckle, allowing Alton Vicious to tag himself into the match. Buzzard maintained his momentum, hitting a series of Clotheslines before taking Vicious off his feet with a Step-Up Enzuigiri. Buzzard headed straight to the top rope and looked to hit a Flying Cross Body, but was caught in mid-air by his Light Heavyweight opponent. Vicious followed up his incredible show of strength by slamming Buzzard to the mat with a body slam. Buzzard stumbled back to his feet, but was immediately lifted up for the Vicious Snap (Brainbuster). The impact shook the ring, and there was no way Buzzard was kicking out of that one!

Following their impressive victory, Alton Vicious grabbed a microphone and issued a challenge to the new NWF British Tag Team Champions Future X. Vicious said that The Northern Lights now had three wins on the bounce and are the form tag team in the division. He then officially challenged Future X to a title match at ‘Last Orders’ and said he eagerly awaits their acceptance.

Landon Mallory VS Local Talent

After experiencing his first loss in the NWF at Locked & Loaded, Landon Mallory took his frustrations out on a local talent here. This was an out and out squash match, with “The Springbok" picking up the victory after hitting his Springbok Ram (Gore).

LandonMallory.jpg.e17a0032bfb7652174c2328ec9e5906a.jpg

As soon as Ray Worrall had finished raising Mallory’s hand in victory, the South African was immediately calling for a microphone.

Landon Mallory: “’Breeze’ get yourself out here!”

JoeyBeauchamp.jpg.7d8ca7bae9f6bbf73629a0688d49d13d.jpg

Joey Beauchamp didn’t take long to answer the call, but “The Breeze” decided to hang back at the top of the ring rather than joining the angry South African in the ring.

Joey Beauchamp: “I’m here Landon. I must say that I’m surprised you want more after the beating I gave you on Sunday!”

Landon Mallory: “Don’t make me laugh “Breeze”. I was manhandling you before the low blow, and I’ll manhandle you when we go again…”

Joey Beauchamp: “And what makes you think we’ll be going again?”

“The Springbok” looked furious in the ring as he stared a hole through “The Breeze”.

Joey Beauchamp: “The way I see it, I’ve already beaten you. No need to go through all of that again…”

Landon Mallory: “Look krimpie, we can either do this in the ring or I can come and find you backstage… ja?”

The usually calm and collected Beauchamp lost his composure for a moment and gulped at the threat from “The Springbok”. However, a moment later the calm, cool exterior was back.

Joey Beauchamp: “There won’t be any need for that, I’m a fair man. The way I see it, I won round one… so if you want to earn a round two, you’re going to need to jump through certain hoops to get there. Sound fair?”

Landon Mallory: “I’ll jump through whatever hoops I need too to get my hands on you!”

Joey Beauchamp (grinning smugly): “Good… we start next week.”

(C) Welsh Dragon VS “Magic” Martin Heath

This was a huge main event, and the first title match in the short history of the National Wrestling TV show. Welsh Dragon and Martin Heath are two of the flashiest workers on the NWF roster (only Petey Barnes is at the same level), so we told them to focus on high spots throughout the match.

The two fan favourites went back and forth, trading spectacular moves with both men willing to put their bodies on the line to try and secure the Cruiserweight title. Usually a tag team specialist, Heath put on a real show in his first singles match in the NWF. He looked to have the match won as he headed to the top rope to deliver his Flying Fist Drop, but Welsh Dragon was able to avoid impact at the very last moment.

The match continued to go back and forth, until Heath looked to hit a Springboard Clothesline but telegraphed it and leaped straight into a Dragon Kick from the champion! Welsh Dragon made the cover and the count was made to secure his first successful title defence. Following the match, the two fan favourites shook hands and National Wrestling went off the air with Martin Heath holding the champions arm up in celebration.

Rating: 49

Jackie Goldstein: “Welsh Dragon retains! What a match! He could hold that Cruiserweight title for a long time based on that performance…”

Melanie Florence: “What a way to close out an explosive show! We saw an Olympic medallist Jackie!”

Jackie Goldstein: “I’m still in shock Melanie… the whole thing felt like a fever dream!”

Melanie Florence: “I’m hearing that Rachel Dearheart will be holding a sit down interview with Stuart Wilson during next weeks show. Not one to miss!”

Jackie Goldstein: “But why is he working with Chuck Frisby… it doesn’t make any sense!”

Melanie Florence: “So many questions heading into next weeks episode… will Leo Price even be here after his disciplinary meeting? Be sure to join us to find out!”

The Edison Silva vs Nate Manchester angle had an unexpected twist, a strong start for the show. Chuck Frisby's segment was really good again. I like a face vs face for a secondary title in the Main Event of a National Wrestling episode and Welsh Dragon and Martin Heath did a nice job.

Thanks @newbiezness. I'm having a lot of fun with Chuck, and Stuart Wilson is one of the characters on the British scene who seems set up to do well. He has instant credibility as an Olympic medalist, and Chuck seems to be hoping he'll gain some credibility by association!

I'm glad you liked the Main Event. I think I'm going to be leaning quite heavily on the secondary titles, at least in the short term while I build up my Main Event scene.

Martin Heath is an interesting one. He's fantastic in ring, but I just can't find anything to do with his character. He's a bland tag team guy who can't play Heel. I'm hoping some inspiration strikes me down the line, as in-game he's got all the stats to do well.

Damn I missed the last round of predictions, one thing I wanted to add is I also loved how you incorporated the signs in the events. Definitely an idea I want to steal down the line for a show.

Thanks @HiPlus! It was really fun writing them all into the show. You can thank @John Lions, as it was his fantastic Chuck Frisby sign that gave me the idea :)

Another really fun show. I love how well rounded the likes of Mo Adebola and of course Chuck Frisby are and how naturally their stories develop each show. What a genius idea to introduce Stuart Wilson in this way, setting it up with Frisby being challenged to prove his legitimacy. And a great call to put the cruiserweights in the main event to add to the title's credibility, with that detail about it being the first ever title match on the show justifying the spot.

I didn't comment on it before, but I loved the inclusion of the fan sign I whipped up into an angle on screen. Very clever stuff - I miss when signs were a bigger deal in wrestling, but nowadays most of them are inside comments or advertising...

"The Real Angel Of The North" Nate Manchester vs Rhys Vali
The #1 contender racks up a win against one of your lower card vets.

Grant Taypen vs Dwayne Dark
Dwayne Dark is neck deep in the Frisby storylines, while Grant is more of a tag guy

Welsh Dragon & Bali Daljit vs JK Lee & Padraig O'Hearne
Interesting match up - I think the heel side is a lot stronger individually, and this sets up a future title shot for either Lee, Paddy, or both.

"The Springbok" Landon Mallory vs Brilliant White
Mallory shouldn't be losing to anyone that's not at the top of the card. I'd consider Beauchamp that gatekeeper to the top at this point in his career, and I think Mallory's on his way to getting that win and being involved with your top guys once the British fans get more familiar with him

Non-Title Contest: Leighton Buzzard vs Edison Silva
Similar to Dwayne's match, except it's the champion crushing a tag specialist

Thanks @619! Mo and Chuck were definitely the two characters I had the clearest visions for when this started. As I said above, Stuart Wilson was always someone I wanted to get involved, and I thought the contrast between the Chuck Frisby fitness instructor persona vs Stuart Wilson as a legitimate Olympic athlete was a fun dynamic to play with.

The only downside of adding Wilson is that the top of the card now feels a little heel heavy. I have three "projects" I'm working on moving up the card, so I'm hoping at least one can get over quickly to help even things up.

We cut away from the ring to the pre-recorded interview between Rachel Dearheart and Stuart Wilson. The Olympic Bronze Medalist is wearing his Team GB tracksuit and the Olympic medal hangs around his neck.

StuartWilson.jpg.9e2b67081d7167fe6d5310a42b6c5d27.jpg

Rachel Dearheart: “Stuart Wilson, thank you for giving up some of your time today. Your debut sent waves through the NWF last week. As an Olympic athlete, what was it that drew you to Professional Wrestling?”

Stuart Wilson: “The 2012 Olympic Games was my final competition as a professional athlete. The culmination of a lifelong goal. For 20 years training was my life. I spent a long time searching for something to replace that. I tried coaching other athletes, but I didn’t get the same buzz from it so I started looking for something to replicate that feeling I had as an athlete. I’ve always been a fan of professional wrestling, and at the time Chuck had just debuted up in Scotland so was able to put a word in for me…”

Rachel Dearheart: “Your career has exploded since that debut two years ago, you were picked up by the EWA last year and of course debuted last week for the NWF. What do you believe your greatest strengths are in the ring?”

Stuart Wilson: “As a Hammer thrower, explosive power has always been what I’ve trained for. That’s something that’s translated into the ring. Also just my mindset. I’ve been at the very top before winning Olympic Bronze, and I know there’s no reason I can’t achieve the same heights in wrestling.”

Rachel Dearheart: “You mentioned Chuck Frisby earlier. That alliance has certainly caught a few observers off guard…”

Stuart Wilson: “I don’t see why. As I said last week, Chuck and I have been working together for a long time.”

Rachel Dearheart: “And you believe in his training methods?”

Stuart Wilson: “Of Course. Chuck Frisby is one of the best personal trainers in the business. If you want to see what his training methods can achieve, tune in to National Wrestling next week and I’ll show you.”

Rachel Dearheart: “Is that an exclusive? Well, let’s leave it there! Stuart Wilson’s in ring debut will be next week on National Wrestling, exclusively on WrestleWorld GB!”

Grant Taypen VS Dwayne Dark w/ Chuck Frisby

We come back to the ring to find Chuck Frisby, the man mentioned in Stuart Wilson’s interview, leading his other client Dwayne Dark to the ring. Dark’s opponent is already in the ring, which is never a good sign!

Chuck Frisby focused his attention on members of the audience, barking out various exercise instructions to them. They largely ignored him, so Frisby reminded loudly that he had coached an Olympic athlete.

In the ring, Dark was using his size advantage to control the match. With the communication issues we’ve seen in previous weeks seemingly a thing of the past, Dark was able to land his Darkness Falls (Batista Bomb) to secure his first victory in the NWF.

On commentary, Melanie Florence commented that things really seemed to be looking up for Chuck Frisby and his clients since Wilson’s shock debut last week. Jackie Goldstein merely grunted in response.

We cut backstage to find Bret Heartbreak leant up against a wall engrossed in his phone. His father turned a corner and immediately snapped at his son.

Byron.jpg.84dd1c5af1afe8011a0e32b96db38534.jpg BretHeartbreak.jpg.e1f51b1ff1b411db945c564ba00fbe60.jpg

Byron: “Get off that thing… everytime I see you nowadays your nose is glued to that screen. It’s a distraction, a distraction you don’t need given your recent performances…”

Bret Heartbreak scowled, but didn’t look up from his screen.

Byron: “But luckily for you, one of us still cares about your career. I’ve spoken to an old friend and I’ve got you a match next week on National Wrestling. It’s a huge opportunity, so we’ll need to get a big week of training in to avoid a repeat of last weeks’ embarrassment…”

Voice of screen: “Don’t be so harsh old timer…”

Dangermouth.jpg.2f4d8d3832eb0fd2388f1eb786460653.jpg

Dangermouth: “I hear you giving grief about performances… but you wouldn’t have done any better.”

Byron: “I am a ten time World Champion…”

Dangermouth: “I don’t care who you are… or rather, who you USED to be.”

Byron scowled at the grime star.

Dangermouth: “Don’t like what I’m saying? Why don’t you and I throw it down next week?”

Byron huffs, hauling his son around the corner as he walked away. Bret didn’t look up from his phone, but did follow his father.

Byron: “You’re not worth my time.”

Dangermouth looks annoyed at Byron sidestepping his challenge, but on commentary Melanie Florence agrees that Dangermouth has a lot more to prove before he’s ready to challenge someone at the level of Byron!

Welsh Dragon & Bali Daljit VS JK Lee & Padraig O’Hearne

This was the first time Welsh Dragon & Bali Daljit had teamed together, but the two men seemed to share a natural chemistry in the ring. They utilized frequent tags and double team moves in order to stay one step ahead of their much more experienced opponents. Dragon & Daljit looked to have the match under control until Daljit headed to the top rope looking to hit his spectacular Shooting Star Press. Unfortunately for Baljit, JK Lee was able to move out of the way at the last second. This left Baljit exposed, and JK Lee was able to lock in his Crossface. Daljit struggled, but with the ropes out of reach had no choice but to tap out, handing Lee & O’Hearne the victory seemingly from nowhere.

We cut backstage to the team of Petey Barnes & Eric Future, known better as Future X. The NWF British Tag Team Champions were stood by with Rachel Dearheart.

Rachel Dearheart: “I’m with Future X. Now Petey, Eric, last week on National Wrestling you were called out by The Northern Lights. What is your response to Alton Vicious’ challenge?”

Petey Barnes: “This isn’t our first rodeo Rachel, Eric & I are now 7-time Tag Team Champions, we know that being champions puts a big target on our backs. Having said that in every company we’ve been in, Future X have always been fighting champions! So, if The Northern Lights want a shot at these belts… we’ll see them at ‘Last Orders’!

LandonMallory.jpg.84b563f034321ea8d9f10d4882aa4113.jpg

We cut back to the ring, and Landon Mallory’s music hits. Jackie Goldstein explains that “The Springbok” will be in action next, but that his opponent will be hand selected by the man he wishes to face at ‘Last Orders’ - Joey Beauchamp. Beauchamp’s music plays next, but once again “The Breeze” hangs back at the top of the ramp while addressing “The Springbok” in the ring.

JoeyBeauchamp.jpg.c231b36040d2ca994609b9b32d53f067.jpg

Joey Beauchamp: “Landon, I told you last week that if you wanted a round two with “The Breeze” there’d be a few hoops you’d have to jump through. Let me introduce you to your first hoop, and I promise you this is a man who knows how to put on a show…”

BrilliantWhite.jpg.ef28cf8d3f663bb179fe943b291b5bbe.jpg

The lights in the arena momentarily flashed a dazzling white and when they dimmed back to normal, Brilliant White was stood next to “The Breeze”. Brilliant White’s theatrical operatic entrance music played in the background, as the masked lightweight made his theatrical entrance.

“The Springbok” Landon Mallory VS Brilliant White

Joey Beauchamp may have been hoping that the theatrics of Brilliant White’s entrance may have thrown Landon Mallory off his game here, but “The Breeze” had no such luck. Brilliant White showed reckless abandon in his willingness to use his body as a weapon and throw himself repeatedly at the South African, but the size difference between these two men just proved too much to overcome.

The finish to this one came when Brilliant White tried another high-risk move, but was caught out of the air by “The Springbok”. Mallory hoisted Brilliant White over his shoulder, before delivering a running Powerslam. Sensing his moment, “The Springbok” set up for his Springbok Ram (Gore) and the impact looked like it folded his opponent in half!

We cut to a pre-recorded video showing footage from the disciplinary hearing of Leo Price that took place earlier this week. The footage showed a large boardroom, with Leo Price and his lawyer sat at one end of the table and Mo Adebola and Edison Silva sat at the other. Three members of the NWF board sat between them, with an older gentleman in the middle seemingly presiding the meeting. We seem to be joining proceedings in the middle of Mo Adebola presenting evidence to the NWF board members.

Mo Adebola: “There is a clear and consistent trend of discrimination against my client, all to the clear and obvious benefit of one Nate Manchester. If we could review the footage I have submitted as evidence…”

The older gentleman turns on a large screen TV, and all members turn their attention to the footage on screen… which all seems to have been taken from episodes of National Wrestling.

Mo Adebola: “Before we review the timeline, I would like to remind the room of the history between Leo Price and Nate Manchester. They were of course 21st Century Tag Team Champions in 2012, and by all accounts have remained firm friends since. I mention this only to set the scene for the events we are about to see.”

Leo Price’s lawyer objects, but is overruled by the NWF board member who states that if Leo Price was using his position of power to show overt favouritism to his friends that would constitute discrimination against the other party.

Mo Adebola: “Precisely, and on that note let’s review the tape…”

The first clip comes from National Wrestling Episode 1, showing Leo Price and Nate Manchester embracing at the top of the ramp following Nate Manchester’s debut victory. The NWF board members look decidedly unimpressed at the first piece of evidence.

The second clip is from Episode 2, which saw Leo Price announce Nate Manchester as Edison Silva’s opponent at ‘Locked & Loaded’. Mo Adebola explains that he had personally had the title match written into his clients contract, but what had Nate Manchester done to earn his shot? Future X and Lee & O’Hearne were required to take place in a tournament to earn their title shots, and the Cruiserweight challengers had been required to win #1 contender matches in Episode 4 of National Wrestling… but Nate Manchester had been handed his title shot on a plate.

The next two clips are from the contract signing in Episode 4, firstly showing Leo Price stepping in to stop Edison Silva jumping Nate Manchester from behind and then a few minutes later Leo Price doing nothing to stop Nate Manchester attacking an unsuspecting Silva. Two identical situations, two very different responses. Leo Price’s lawyer shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

We then move on to the clip of Leo Price wishing Nate Manchester luck before the title match at Locked & Loaded, and finally the clip from last weeks’ show of Leo Price announcing a rematch at ‘Last Orders’.

Mo Adebola: “I think the video evidence makes it clear that Leo Price has shown consistent favouritism towards Nate Manchester due to an existing relationship between them, and taken actions based on that friendship that have repeatedly disadvantaged my client.”

Leo Price rolled his eyes and voiced his protest, but was motioned to be quiet by his lawyer. The NWF board member announced they would have to review the evidence that they had seen today, and would return a verdict in the next 7 days. The final shot was of a smug looking Mo Adebola, who was staring down Leo Price from across the table.

Leighton Buzzard VS Edison Silva w/ Mo Adebola

We return to the ring and Edison Silva’s music hits. The NWF British Heavyweight Champion raised his title high above his head, and was accompanied by a very smug looking Mo Adebola. On commentary, Jackie Goldstein discussed the video we had just seen and what it meant for the future of Leo Price. Melanie Florence speculated that things didn’t look good for Price, but Goldstein shot back that Adebola clearly blowing events out of proportion.

When Leighton Buzzards music hit, the lightweight came sprinting out of the back and caught the champion completely off guard with a Springboard Clothesline. Mo Adebola complained to the referee, but Roy Worrall simply called for the bell. Leighton Buzzard maintained the advantage he had gained with his surprise pre-bell attack, using his high-octane offence to keep the champion off balance. Silva looked in real trouble after a Front Dropkick sent Silva crashing into a turnbuckle. The champion slumped to the bottom of the turnbuckle and Buzzard came sprinting across the ring to deliver a running Knee Strike. He hauled Silva into a cover, but the champion just got his shoulder up at two-and-a-half!

Silva looked rattled, and it took Mo Adebola providing a distraction by jumping onto the apron to allow Silva to rake at the eyes of Buzzard to get the champion back into the match. Silva still wasn’t having things his own way though, and Buzzard scored another near fall with a Step-Up Enzuigiri. Silva was on the back foot again, and Buzzard hit another Front Dropkick that sent the champion crashing into a turnbuckle once again. Buzzard looked to repeat his running Knee from earlier in the match, but this time Silva was ready for him and was able to grab the tights of the incoming Buzzard and send him head first into the turnbuckle.

An angry Silva followed than up with a knee strike of his own, which sent Buzzard slumping to the mat. The champion then utilised his MMA training to gain side control and deliver a sickening looking Grounded Knee Flurry to the temple of his opponent. Buzzard slumped, knocked out, and Silva made the cover to secure a surprisingly hard fought win.

Melanie Florence: “What a match! The best I’ve seen in an NWF ring!”

Jackie Goldstein: “And it come from nowhere. We all expected Edison Silva to walk it, and they put on a banger like that!”

Melanie Florence: “That finish was brutal though! I’ve never seen knee strikes like that in a wrestling ring!”

Jackie Goldstein: “Be sure to join us again next week for another packed show! We have the in-ring debut of Olympic Bronze Medallist Stuart Wilson…”

Melanie Florence: “We find out what the next hoop Landon Mallory has to jump through to earn his rematch with “The Breeze”…”

Jackie Goldstein: “And we’ll have an update on the outcome of Leo “The Lion” Price’s disciplinary hearing! For all of that and so much more, join us for National Wrestling exclusively on Wrestleworld GB!”

Particularly loved the disciplinary hearing and how you were able to call back to multiple moments in the company's short history, showing how well this particular storyline has been plotted, and it ending on a cliffhanger to get two episodes' worth of material out of it.

Thanks @619. This was a storyline that jumped out at me upon reading Mo Adebola's bio, so I'm glad you are enjoying it so far! Expect to see a lot more shenanigans from Adebola going forwards.

Thank you to everyone who commented, reacted or predicted on the latest show! It's always great to know people are following along.

Seems like it was a very straightforward show this week, with everyone scoring full marks! Congratulations to all.

Leighton Buzzard vs Rhys Vali
Usually I don't go for a tag guy in a singles match, but I think Buzzard impressed so much last show that this may be the start of a small solo push.

#1 Contenders Match For Cruiserweight Championship: Cain Carlile vs JK Lee
A second singles match in a row I opt for the tag team guy, but Lee got the win over the champion (albeit his partner tapped out, not the champion) in tag team action last time out, so again I think this is the start of a bit of a run as a solo act as he guns for the title.

Bali Daljit vs Stuart Wilson w/ Chuck Frisby
Wilson adds an air of legitimacy to Frisby's fitness instructor shtick and I think the upswing in fortune for Frisby and his entourage continues here.

Landon Mallory vs Bret Heartbreak w/ Byron
This serves both the purpose of Mallory continuing to bounce back following his loss to Beauchamp, and Byron being an awful father to Bret.

Sharp & Heath (Jon Michael Sharp & Martin Heath) vs The Northern Lights (Alton Vicious & Riddick Jordan)
The toughest one to predict as both teams are great, but given that the champions are babyfaces they need a heel duo to oppose them and who better than Alton Vicious and Riddick Jordan?

Leighton Buzzard vs Rhys Vali
Unfortunately for him, Rhys is a curtain jerker at best with the wrong side of his career to go in front of him. Leighton's one of the "former ROH dojo graduates who are really talented but have no name value", and his talent showed out last week and he gets rewarded with the win this week.

#1 Contenders Match For Cruiserweight Championship: Cain Carlile vs JK Lee
Cain Carlisle is one of the worst graduates of the National School of Wrestling, while JK Lee is one of the best graduates of the ROF dojo.

Bali Daljit vs Stuart Wilson w/ Chuck Frisby
#ChuckStrong

Landon Mallory vs Bret Heartbreak w/ Byron
Mallory overcoming Bret, and maybe winning his son over, is the endgame, and I don't see Landon getting the win on TV

Sharp & Heath (Jon Michael Sharp & Martin Heath) vs The Northern Lights (Alton Vicious & Riddick Jordan)
Sharp and Heath are probably the best veteran tag team (not signed by 21CW) in the Isles, while The Northern Lights IMO would be the next big tag team. Tough call, but I'm a big Northern Lights guy
