LSW Dust Bowl 2021
Sunday, Week 3, February 2021
Held in El Paso, TX (Mid South) in front of 463 people
19,592 viewers on WrestleWorld

The Canadian Blondes (Flash Savage, Ozzie Goldstein) vs The Heartbreak Express (Johnny Needham, Ralph Liotta)
The opener is a lively tag team bout that sees The Heartbreak Express getting off to a very good start, then being outwitted by The Canadian Blondes who take advantage of continuous tags and a rather relaxed rope break counting by the referee as their match plan. In a decent match The Canadian Blondes are the one to take home the win, going 2-1 against The Heartbreak Express, as Flash Savage pins Ralph Liotta. The Canadian Blondes celebrate in the ring despite boos from the fans in attendance, as Flash Savage and Ozzie Goldstein mock them and The Heartbreak Express, laying outside of the ring. The goal of this bout was to work the crowd and gets the show off to a strong start. [45]

We are heading backstage where cameras pinch Renegade Bradley Blaze intent on chasing Ricky Dale Johnson through the corridors of the venue, asking to have of his championship rematch for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title tonight. RDJ, however, explains to "The Renegade" that this is not possible, not tonight. Texas Hangman won the Texan Rumble and is eligible to get the match he asked for, a one-on-one against the champ Joffy Laine for the title belt. Ricky Dale Johnson almost comforts Bradley Blaze, saying he will soon be able to take advantage of his championship rematch clause, just needs a little patience. But patience would not seem to be a virtue of Renegade Bradley Blaze. [56]

Prime Time Jack Pryde vs Rob Reynolds in a Beat-the-Clock challenge match
The first match of the Beat-the-Clock challenge is between the Asian-American Rob Reynolds and the cocky Jack Pryde, who goes face-to-face with "The Real Deal" telling him in just a couple of minutes he will be down on the mat, pinned by "Prime Time" who will then qualify as the fastest winner of the BTC challenge. As expected though, this is not what happens and in a decent bout, Rob Reynolds defeats Prime Time Jack Pryde in 6:32 minutes by pinfall after a Real Deal Rocker that puts his opponent down and out. The color commentary of Fabulous Frank gives the match a boost. [37]

In a brief graphic, it is announced that The Dreadnought will have his singles debut next month, as the behemoth is set to square up against Remmy Honeyman, one half of The Hive. The Dreadnought debuted in late 2020 alongside The Architect, as their duo defeated Remmy Honeyman and Quentin Queen in tag team action. [15]

The cameras switch to a locker room, where Texas Hangman is intent on setting up his ring gears, with a silent Cobra and a noisy Travis Century at his side, talking to "The Hangman" about the great opportunity that awaits him in the main event, where The Strong Hand of the Lord will be able to crush Joffy Laine and grab the LSW Texas Heavyweight title, just as "The Preacher" wanted: "For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." Texas Hangman gets up and closes this segment, responding a bit unhinged to Travis Century that before this night is over, with the help or not of the Lord, his hands will hold the Texas Heavyweight championship. [33]

Cali Slick vs Rayne Man in a Beat-the-Clock challenge match
The rivalry between these two competitors continues in this singles match that's part of the Beat-the-Clock challenge match. In a good bout, Cali Slick and Rayne Man face off and Rayne Man manages to keep both "The Draw" and Vinny Cruz in check at ringside, not a factor in the first part of the match-up. After building his momentum though, the babyface veteran fails to connect his Rayne Drop as the weasel Vinny Cruz tries to interfere, only as a distraction to allow Cali Slick to again use his golden chain as a weapon, just like he did in their previous bout. This time, however, the referee smells the catch and stops giving his attention to Vinny Cruz, turning around and catching Cali Slick intent on loading his right punch with the golden chain wrapped around the head. "The Draw" plays dumb, trying not to be disqualified, and quickly disposing of the illegal object, being punished, however, by his rival who connects his Rayne Drop after a few moments: 1 ... 2 .. 3! The plan backfires for Vinny Cruz and Cali Slick, as the babyface veteran scores the win in 16:19 minutes. [52]

Accompanied by his valet Venus Angeletti, Ernest Youngman takes a few minutes in the ring to talk about his journey in Lone Star Wrestling so far; a solid 2020 with wins over Big Hustle, Cali Slick, Rob Reynolds, but yet perhaps not living up to his expectations, and even 2021 did not get off to the best start with a Texan Rumble match compromised by elimination at the hands of legendary "Dr. Love" Danny Fonzarelli, a pleasant - well, not for Youngman - one night stand in LSW so far. "The Assassin of the Squared Circle" knows he is one of the best pro wrestlers on the indie scene and that it is only a matter of time before some major company puts him under contract, but before that day comes the hot prospect from Chicago wants to conquer the Mid South area, becoming the Texas Heavyweight champ, just like he conquered the Tri State area in previous years. Ernest Youngman says that he's destined to greatness, and sooner or later he'll be the face of Lone Star Wrestling. [50]

The Most Wanted (Winchester, Revell, Martin) vs Miller Fforde, The American Cobras
It's time for some three versus three action as 3/4 of The Most Wanted - the Renegade leader Bradley Blaze seems to have stayed backstage - square up against the No. One Contenders at the tag team belts Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane, and Miller Fforde. In a bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, the latter shows why they call him "The Fighting Underdog," suffering through much of the match but finally managing to make a hot tag to their partners. The match remains balanced until the final bars, when the non-legal men make a run in, The Big Guns almost connect their Law Of The West on Miller Fforde who fights back, stunning both The Big Guns, but this leaves the way clear for Maverick Chip Martin who hits Miller Fforde with a Superkick for the win! The Most Wanted defeat their opponents in fifteen minutes. [52]

Returning from their match, The Big Guns and Maverick Chip Martin are cheered by Renegade Bradley Blaze, who especially compliments the rookie for scoring the pinfall on Blaze's long-time rival Miller Fforde. Cowboy Buck Winchester and Outlaw Wes Revell say they are confident they will defend their LSW Tag Team Heavyweight titles against the No. One Contenders The American Cobras, while Renegade Bradley Blaze continues to have a championship rematch for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title in his sights. [43]

Al Coleman vs Raphael in a Beat-the-Clock challenge match
Part of the Beat-the-Clock challenge, Al Coleman and Raphael square up once again, after their previous match-up was cancelled due to a backstage assault on "Mr. Submission" - rumored to be by Raphael himself but there was no confirmation - who came out injured. It’s finally time for singles action between these two competitors and in a superb match is Raphael who takes home the W, surviving the Ankle's Brace by Al Coleman thanks to rope break, before finding the way to poke the eyes of "Mr. Submission" and hit him with a Cupid's Arrow for the win in 12:52 minutes. At the moment, Raphael has the second fastest time in the Beat-the-Clock challenge, which means Rob Reynolds is already qualified for the LSW Brass Knuckles title match, while Rayne Man is out of it. Coming up we will have the fourth and final match of the challenge, which will reveal "The Real Deal"'s opponent in the bout for the brand-new championship. [52]

The main event is approaching and the Texas Heavyweight champ Joffy Laine is getting ready for it, as the cameras linger on him backstage, busy stretching with his ring gears already on. "The Jackhammer" is called to no small feat in his first title defense against Texas Hangman, but he cannot fail. Joffy Laine lost the championship on his first title defense during his first reign, suffering no small psychological backlash. Replicating the bad experience could be really impactful on Joffy Laine's future in LSW. [48]

Big Hustle vs Left Shot Bradford in a Beat-the-Clock challenge match
Left Shot Bradford and "King of the Rodeo" Big Hustle have an exceptional match that starts with Left Shot attacking Big Hustle on the ramp during his entrance, trying to gain some advantage before the bell. During the bout, Big Hustle builds a great comeback and grabs his rival to attempt his Hustler's Headbutt; like last time Left Shot manages to grab the referee with his right hand and pushes him away, but this time Big Hustle doesn’t lose focus and strikes without hesitation: HUSTLER'S HEADBUTT! 1 .. 2 .. BIG HUSTLE SCREAMS IN PAIN, NOT FINISHING THE COVER! The referee interrupts the pinfall, not understanding what has just happened, as Left Shot Bradford in the last moments had managed to "put on" brass knuckles on his right hand - presumably pulling it out of his pocket - hitting his rival in the stomach during the cover, an action impossible to see from the referee's trajectory. Big Hustle gets back up holding his abdomen, but Left Shot manages to anticipate him by a moment, still stunned, hiding his right hand and hitting "The Hustler” with a Dream Left Hook! 1 .. 2 .. 3! Left Shot Bradford defeats Big Hustle in 11:40 by pinfall, beating the rival once again and qualifying for the LSW Brass Knuckles title match ... by using brass knuckles. Curious! [58] After the match, Big Hustle is helped by the referee to get up, but this time Left Shot Bradford puts the brass knuckles on his left hand, hitting the rival with a nasty Brass Knuckles Dream Left Hook that sends him down and out! [63]

Left Shot Bradford just returned backstage, when he’s confronted by Kip Keenan, his former partner back in their Puerto Rico days. “The American Eagle” asks what’s wrong with him, hitting Big Hustle with that nasty brass knuckles shot! He may have broke his jaw! Left Shot takes a uninterested look at Kip Keenan, snubbing him and moving away after telling him to mind his own business. [51]

Hl1JXzc.png
Joffy Laine (c) vs Texas Hangman for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
And now it's time for the main event! The winner of the Texan Rumble and challenger for the belt Texas Hangman does not suffer the champion's first direct assault, responding with impactul shots and beginning to impose his own pace. Travis Century does some good work at ringside, constantly inciting "his" executioner, while Cobra stays by "The Preacher's" side in silence, following the developments of the main event. Joffy Laine manages to reverse an opponent's Choke Slam that would have meant "game over," managing to connect a Death Spiral: 1 ... 2 .. KICKOUT! Texas Hangman is the first to kick out of Laine's signature move, then managing to get back on his feet and continue the bout to the disbelief of the fans in attendance. In a bout that has great heat and good wrestling, the clock strikes twelve minutes when several individuals burst into the ring, assaulting the two competitors: THE MOST WANTED ARE INTERFERING IN THE MATCH! And the referee has no other chance that to call a No Contest. [52]

The bell continues to ring, but The Most Wanted's onslaught continues; Renegade Bradley Blaze, the first to break into the squared circle, begins battering Joffy Laine alongside Maverick Chip Martin, while The Big Guns target Texas Hangman. The latter tries to fight back, but eventually has to collapse on the mat once again when The Most Wanted focus on him in a four-on-one. Also futile is the run-in by Cobra, who is soon caught by a Superkick by Maverick Chip Martin and sends him down and out by Bradley Blaze's Dallas Drop. The crowd boos the hell out of The Most Wanted, who close the event standing in the ring, while Renegade Bradley Blaze holds the LSW Texas Heavyweight title in his hands. [29]

Very dominant show by The Most Wanted, I was expecting something like this, really good.

Rob Reynolds and Left Shot Bradford were up to expectations. Big Hustle vs Left Shot Bradford was my favorite match and also had a great rating. Bradford's interaction with Kip Keenan was very promising, maybe a defining moment for his character. I like that some potential matches were hinted in these Beat-the-clock challenges, which were a good idea by the way.

Preview for LSW No Place for Old Men 2021

Jules Night vs Kip Keenan
After his debut in Lone Star Wrestling in the Texan Rumble match, "The American Eagle" Kip Keenan is ready to make his debut in singles action as he takes on one half of The Oklahomans "The Sandman" Jules Night, who will definitely want to take advantage of this match to step up and show his talent. Kip Keenan is a rising prospect from Las Vegas, a good amateur wrestler turned pro in 2010, when he started learning his craft on the indie scene by also working in Puerto Rico alongside Left Shot Bradford. Now a more mature competitor, "The American Eagle" has chosen LSW as the place to become a star.

Maverick Chip Martin vs Miller Fforde
These two already squared up in four-on-four and three-on-three action, and just last month Maverick Chip Martin scored the W for his team, The Most Wanted, when he pinned Miller Fforde after his Superkick. Now set to collide in a one-on-one, this match-up is sure to be very entertaining and unpredictable. Usually Miller Fforde makes more as the underdog in the bout, similar to Chip Martin trying to hold on as far as he can before finding a sneaky way to get the victory. It will be curious finding out who will expose himself the most and lead the offense.

Remmy Honeyman vs The Dreadnought
As already announced, another singles debut during the night, as The Dreadnought is set to square up against Remmy Honeyman, one half of The Hive. The Dreadnought debuted in late 2020 alongside The Architect in a tag team match, as their duo defeated Remmy Honeyman and Quentin Queen. Now, Remmy Honeyman is a middleweight and he's certainly no slouch, but we got a brief introduction of The Dreadnought's physical strength and it's dam impressive! A all-around worker, Remmy will probably have to channel the match into more of a technical fight than a physical one to get away with it.

TQS8hBT.png  TQS8hBT.png
The Big Guns (Winchester, Revell) (c) vs The American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) for the LSW Tag Team title

The Big Guns' reign as inaugural LSW Tag Team Heavyweight champ has reached over 300 days with four successful defenses so far, with "The Most Wanted" who also won the Mid South Tag Team Series. The dominance of Cowboy Buck Winchester and Outlaw Wes Revell has been quite evident, and only one duo has really been able to stand up to them. For many insiders and fans one of the best tag teams in the biz today, The American Cobras are back to being the No. One Contenders almost a year after contending for the tag team titles, coming very close. It's finally time to rekindle this rivalry, with a championship match that promises to be a must-see.

Al Coleman vs Ernest Youngman
An interesting first time for this one-on-one between "Mr. Submission" Al Coleman, who comes from a loss against Raphael but is still a solid threat every time he steps into the squared circle, and "The Assassin" Ernest Youngman, who recently stated how 2021 should be his year here in LSW. Al Coleman's technique versus Ernest Youngman's impactful maneuvers, who will come out on top?

Left Shot Bradford vs Rob Reynolds in a No DQ Match for the LSW Brass Knuckles title

A little more than one month ago, the owner of LSW Ricky Dale Johnson talked about the introduction of a second singles championship inside the promotion. Keeping true to the brawling attitude of Texas wrestling heritage, he introduced the LSW Texas Brass Knuckles Heavyweight title belt, defended only in No Disqualification matches. At LSW Dust Bowl, a Beat-the-Clock challenge was held to decree the two wrestlers who will compete for the chance to become the inaugural champ. It came down to Left Shot Bradford, who qualified thanks to a win against Big Hustle in which he used actual brass knuckles, against Rob "The Real Deal" Reynolds, who honestly had an easier path by defeating Prime Time Jack Pryde. Let's get ready to witness some classic southern' slobberknocker, with the new championship up for grabs!

Hl1JXzc.png
Joffy Laine (c) vs Renegade Bradley Blaze vs Texas Hangman for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
After causing a No Contest in the main event of LSW Dust Bowl between champ Joffy Laine and challenger Texas Hangman, Renegade Bradley Blaze still got a very interesting chance for this event. One would have expected more of a punishment than a reward from Ricky Dale Johnson, but perhaps we will learn more about this choice of RDJ. At any rate, Texas Heavyweight champ Joffy Laine is called upon to defend his title belt in an unpredictable Three Way match against Renegade Bradley Blaze, who actually still had his championship rematch clause to cash-in, and Texas Hangman, who as we all know could not use his title shot all the way last time due to The Most Wanted's interference. It's important to remember that in a three way like this the champion could lose his championship without being rolled up, an added worry for "The Jackhammer" Joffy Laine who will really have to make a splash to get out with the strap around his waist.

LSW No Place for Old Men 2021
Sunday, Week 3, March 2021
Held in Aurora, CO (Mid South) in front of 499 people
20,549 viewers on WrestleWorld

The show opens with the announcers introducing a taped video showing what happened a few hours ago as Rayne Man arrived in the parking lot. The babyface veteran is assaulted by Bullseye and Waylon Walls, as the street thugs beat him down thanks to numerical superiority, finally throwing Rayne Man head first against the side glass of his car, breaking it to smithereens. On the "crime scene" the security, several staff members, a few wrestlers still in civilian clothes, and especially Ricky Dale Johnson hounded the two members of Every Body Killaz, with the boss kicking Waylon Walls and Bullseye out of the event, promising serious repercussions. [16]

Jules Night vs Kip Keenan
After wondering about Rayne Man's health status, room for the singles debut of Kip Keenan that scores the win against "The Sandman" Jules Night in around six minutes, pinning the opponent after a Belly To Belly Suplex in a decent bout. "The American Eagle" doesn't miss the first blow, also showing some talent inside the ring. Jason Patterson, the other half of The Oklahomans who assisted to the match at ringside, tries to hearten the defeated Jules Night. This match gets the crowd hotter. [44]

Renegade Bradley Blaze stands smiling before Ricky Dale Johnson, asking him why he had him called up. The boss of LSW explains how he considered kicking him out of the promotion once and for all after yet another interference in the LSW Dust Bowl main event, thinking he had compromised his business. But right after the show, the fans were already buzzing, he received multiple calls and texts, all eager to be there at the next LSW event so they could see Bradley Blaze get the lesson he deserves from Texas Hangman and Joffy Laine. RDJ admits that "The Renegade" is making him good money as the most hated heel of promotion - the most wanted if he prefers - and as long as things stay that way, there is no reason not to continue a mutual partnership. RDJ wishes good luck to Bradley Blaze for his championship rematch in the three way main event, reminding him, however, that both Joffy Laine and Texas Hangman will not be particularly happy to find him back in the ring. [68]

Maverick Chip Martin vs Miller Fforde
In a decent match, it is Miller Fforde who is most exposed, leading the offense in the early minutes and putting Maverick Chip Martin in trouble. The youngest member of The Most Wanted tries to confirm himself after scoring the pinfall in recent three-on-three action, but tonight Miller Fforde manages to respond in kind to his comeback attempts. Chip Martin succeeds just enough to carve out a good break after ten minutes to try his Superkick, but he milks it too much and the opponent manages to dodge the blow, then closing the games with a Fforde Flip Face Crusher. [35]

After the match, the crew takes us quickly backstage after the cameras pinch Ricky Dale Johnson who, in an interrogative tone, asks questions to Cali Slick and Vinny Cruz about EBK's assault on Rayne Man in the parking lot earlier on, hinting that they might have their hand behind the beatdown. "The Draw" and his weasel agent reject the accusations, claiming that after all, RDJ has no proof of that, right? Bullseye and Waylon Walls are real thugs, who knows what drove them to do that act, but of course the evil pairing say they are "deeply sorry" for what happened to their rival Rayne Man. [59]

Remmy Honeyman vs The Dreadnought
Accompanied by The Architect at ringside, The Dreadnought makes his singles debut against Remmy Honeyman, one half of The Hive who lately had crossed path with the heelish duo. Standing on his corner, Quentin Queen cheers for his partner who attempts to control his opponent by focusing on his lower limbs, using his technical skills. The Dreadnought has some initial difficulty because of the enemy's strategy, but after a few minutes he manages to unleash his physical overpower and break his opponent's defenses. In a bout that has decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, The Dreadnought defeats Remmy Honeyman in around seven minutes by pinfall with a Dread Bomb. [27]

As we approach at the inaugural title match for the LSW Brass Knuckles championship, a promotional video hypes the bout, in which Left Shot Bradford talks about his victory over Big Hustle that allowed him to get this title shot, a match he won by just using brass knuckles illegally. "The Real Deal" from Detroit, Rob Reynolds, on the other hand shows himself in a different way than usual, tweaking his legitimate gimmick a bit and self-describing himself as "The Motor City Menace". [27]

Ricky Dale Johnson is in his office giving his assistant Mya Catalan some tasks for her job, when Joffy Laine bursts on the scene politely but firmly. The LSW Texas Heavyweight champ is not happy with RDJ's choice of a three way match that jeopardizes his reign a lot, since he could lose his title even without being pinned or submitted. The Strong Hand also joins the spontaneous meeting and it is Texas Hangman who takes the floor, once again nipping Travis Century's speech in the bud. "The Hangman" in turn doesn't see why Renegade Bradley Blaze got this title shot, but at the end of the day being able to get his hands on him might turn out to be a good thing, before snatching the Texas Heavyweight championship from the hands of Joffy Laine. "The Jackhammer" goes toe-to-toe with Texas Hangman, saying he is certain to come out tonight still as the better man, still as the champ. Ricky Dale Johnson simply handles the situation, which deescalates without physical contact. [50]

TQS8hBT.png   TQS8hBT.png
The Big Guns (Winchester, Revell) (c) vs The American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) for the LSW Tag Team title
In a bout that has great wrestling and good heat, The Big Guns attempt to defend their 300-plus title reign as LSW Tag Team Heavyweight champ from the assault of The American Cobras, the only duo capable of holding its own against the champs over the past twelve months to be honest. The Big Guns impose their physical superiority, while The American Cobras try to resist the hard strikes of their rivals to counterattack quickly and strong, in an early match very reminiscent of their clash at LSW Mid South Tag Series 2020 where Cowboy Buck Winchester and Outlaw Wes Revell were crowned inaugural champs. More than fifteen minutes pass when The Big Guns attempt and fail their signature move, the Law of the West is avoided by Marvel Malloy thanks in part to Storm Spillane's run-in. A wild brawl ensues in the middle of the ring, from which the champs come out worse, as Outlaw Wes Revell mistakenly ends up outside the ring after a fortuitous contact with Cowboy Buck Winchester, who ends up the victim of the combined COBRA STRIKE soon after! Marvel Malloy pins Cowboy Buck Winchester for the win: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! After more than 300 days The Big Guns drop the straps, The American Cobras jsut won the LSW Tag Team Heavyweight titles and they're celebrating with the crowd. [55]

Just backstage, still heart-eyed looking at their new tag team belts, The American Cobras are confronted by The Canadian Blondes who seem quite interested in those championships they say they want to chase, perhaps right after winning the second edition of the Mid South Tag Series! Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane are certainly not interested in having the mood ruined by Ozzie Goldstein and Flash Savage, saying that maybe their paths will already cross just inside the tournament, and maybe The Cobra Strike will bite their hairy blond asses. [37]

Al Coleman vs Ernest Youngman
In a bout that has superb wrestling and great heat, Al Coleman and Ernest Youngman both dimsotrando to be among the best wrestlers in the promotion in terms of in-ring performances. The first time these two square up one against the other, "Mr. Submission" Al Coleman looks like he might get the better of things when he closes the Ankle Brace, but "The Assassin" consciously manages to push himself close to one of the sides an instant before, using the rope break to avoid defeat. Suddenly, Prime Time Jack Pryde appears on the stage, minimally distracting Al Coleman who wonders why the cocky rookie walked out here. A minor distraction, however, causes Al Coleman to lose time as he is surprised by Ernest Youngman and his Spinebuster! And following that, "The Assassin" manages to close the match with The Hit, pinning his opponent in twelve minutes. Right after the bell, Jack Pryde cheers from the ramp before returning backstage, while Ernest Youngman and Venus Angeletti look at him suspiciously, as if they, too, do not know the reason for this appearance. Still, another important singles win for "The Assassin". [61]

Walking to the locker room, Ernest Youngman and Venus Angeletti are interrupted by Prime Time Jack Pryde himself, who congratulates them on their victory, but "The Assassin" is not interested in such niceties and asks the rookie to cut the pleasantries and clarify what he has in mind. Jack Pryde says he listened to Ernest Youngman's speech at LSW Dust Bowl and had an idea! So far "The Assassin" has been a lone wolf in LSW, even walking out on his partners two times in the last few months, and he certainly has the makings of a solo force. But hey, the Mid South Tag Series are around the corner and are a nice opportunity to boost his career right away here in the Mid South, and perhaps with an "excellent" partner like Jack Pryde, "The Assassin" will be happier teaming up with somebody. "Prime Time" is under the illusion that he has already convinced Ernest Youngman, who on the contrary rejects the proposal, saying that if he is within the Series he will have a good partner by his side whom he can trust. [44]

The time has come to crown the first ever LSW Brass Knuckles champ, as the new belts are framed at bordoring, ready to meet their new master. Left Shot Bradford makes his entrance by putting brass knuckles on his left hand, which is already a lethal weapon in itself and becomes even scarier when combined with a melee weapon of metal designed to increased likelihood of fracturing opponents' bones on impact. His competitor for the night, though, does not show up empty-handed, as "The Motor City Menace" Rob Reynolds walks out in more street clothes than usual, with a white tank top, jeans and wrist straps, holding in his hands a steel wrench that rivals Left Shot's brass knuckles for danger. [41]

xmonEZV.png
Left Shot Bradford vs Rob Reynolds in a No DQ Match for the LSW Brass Knuckles title
As soon as the bell rings, Left Shot tries to hit the opponent with a Brass Knuckles Dream Left Hook that is dodged by Rob Reynolds, who then attempts to hit Bradford with his wrench, without success. The two competitors engage in a clinch where they both lose control of their weapons. In a No DQ bout that has great wrestling and good heat, we don’t see an endless amount of weapons being used, but rather a focus on psychology within a match-up in which there is no rope break, no count outs, etc. After around thirteen minutes, Left Shot has a good break and recovers the brass knuckles outside of the ring, returning inside the squared circle to deliver the coup de grace to Rob Reynolds, who, however, in the meantime has regained his wrench, hitting the knee the opponent who collapses to the floor! "The Motor City Menace" going for the pinfall: 1 ... 2 .. KICK OUT! After about a minute, Left Shot dislodges the wrench from Reynolds' hands, hitting him with his own weapon in the abdomen, causing him to collapse to his knees. In a very cinematic pose, Rob Reynolds looks at Left Shot standing in front of him, as the heel seems intent on hitting the Asian-American on the skull with the wrench to seal the deal, but suddenly a towering figure appears behind Left Shot! IT'S BIG HUSTLE! Bradford's rival storms into the ring with his face bandaged up, probably from a fractured jaw caused by Left Shot, and puts brass knucles on his right hand; Left Shot realizes something is wrong and turns around, finding himself in front of "The Hustler" who hits him with no regards: BRASS KNUCKLES DREAM RIGHT HOOK! Left Shot gets knocked out and crumbles on the mat, and again it's all legit given the No DQ rules. An exhausted Rob Reynolds thanks for the assist, immediately backing Left Shot to win the match and the LSW Brass Knuckles championship! [53]

Morale in The Most Wanted's locker room is low, as Maverick Chip Martin lost his match and The Big Guns dropped their tag team titles. Regardless, their Renegade leader Bradley Blaze tries to lift spirits, reminding them that all is not lost, quite the contrary! Cowboy Buck Winchester and Outlaw Wes Revell will take back their championships very soon, The Most Wanted will give Miller Fforde a lesson to let him know never to step on their toes again, but most importantly "The Renegade" will become a three-time LSW Texas Heavyweight champ in the three way match tonight! Bradley Blaze, therefore, demands concentration from his allies, who will have to follow his orders in the main event. [32]

Hl1JXzc.png
Joffy Laine (c) vs Renegade Bradley Blaze vs Texas Hangman for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
RDJ was right earlier on, Joffy Laine and Texas Hangman are not at all happy to find themselves in the way of Bradley Blaze, targeting him right from the beginning, as "The Renegade" has to succumb to the fury of his two opponents. Bradley Blaze tries to take control, but in the first part of the match he is systematically overtaken by the two-on-one of Laine and Hangman, who prefer to unite to beat the crap out of him, before going back to fighting each other. Seeing their leader in trouble, The Big Guns and Maverick Chip Martin walk out on the ramp, where they are joined by the unlikely trio formed by Cobra, who was watching the match at ringside along with Travis Century, Texas Hangman and Joffy Laine, who once again decides to side with "The Hangman" to face the common enemy. The result is a huge brawl outside of the squared circle, in which Cowboy Buck Winchester, Outlaw Wes Revell, Maverick Chip Martin and Cobra come out with broken bones, before security and some staff members escort them backstage so as not to jeopardize the main event more. This break, however, gives leeway to Renegade Bradley Blaze who finally takes over the match a bit, taking turns assaulting his competitors but failing to pin either of them. In a superb match, after twenty minutes Bradley Blaze tries to hit Joffy Laine with the Dallas Drop which is avoided, however, soon after Texas Hangman grabs "The Renegade" around the neck, who tries to break the choke to no avail: CHOKE SLAM! Bradley Blaze is down and out in the middle of the ring, and Joffy Laine takes advantage of the situation, grabbing "The Hangman" and throwing him out of the ring over the second rope, before going for the pinfall on "The Renegade": 1 . 2 .. 3!! Joffy Laine pulls out some guile, taking advantage of the situation to successfully defend his Texas Heavyweight championship, "stealing" this one from Texas Hangman to retain the belt. [53]

Total Wrestling News: Tag Series Will Span Two Days

Lone Star Wrestling's tag team tournament is set to return for its second edition, and unlike last year, this time there will also be a Qualifiers event, where twelve tag teams will compete for access to the Mid South Tag Series the following day. The six duos who will qualify will join the pool already consisting of The American Cobras, qualified as current LSW Tag Team champs, and The Big Guns, winners of last year's Series. The twelve tag teams that will wrestle in the Qualifiers have not yet been unveiled, but definitely not among them will be Every Body Killaz (Bullseye and Waylon Walls) who kayfabe-wise were suspended by Ricky Dale Johnson after their vicious assault on Rayne Man in the parking lot at LSW last event.

(Just like I did for the KOTR, I will just post the results of the Qualifiers, and right after that I will also post the card for the actual Mid South Tag Series event with the classic Key for Predictions)

Every time I remember to do my predictions the show's already gone up- good show, though I'm starting to question RDJ's alignment. I figured he was a face but there's a lack of consequences for the heels actions and he's starting to come off like more of a heel to me. Meh, it's a good show anyways.

Yes, you are right!

RDJ is certainly not a classic babyface and I never wanted to portrait him that way. In my mind, and I try to bring him back during his angles as well, RDJ is simply an experienced man who knows how this business goes and is rather disenchanted with the dichotomy between good guys and bad guys. His moral code has been pretty simple so far, evaluate it all from the business point of view; if a heel injures one of his workers he will probably punish him, if a babyface counters his authority he will probably punish him, it's all about "what's best for business" we can say!

The American Cobras where in the toilet a few weeks ago but suddenly everything clicked, at least that's what I felt, and they became #1 contenders and finally LSW Tag Team champions. It was the last call for them, right decision IMO. The Canadian Blondes hinted a future match... everything aligned.

Rob Reynolds deserved this championship, I thought it was designed for Left Shot Bradford, but I guess this outcome sets the table for a feud between Left Shot and Big Hustle and maybe later another one with Kip Keenan (you  don't need a title to keep the interest in these ones really), while for Rob Reynolds even if he faces a lower profile opponent there will be a title on the line to make things more interesting.

Texan Joffy (I like this nickname because I'm used to his FCW and West Coast stories in the diaries and in LSW we're seeing Joffy in his home state) took advantage of a potential feud between The Most Wanted and Texas Hangman, Cobra and Travis Century. Before that there was a good segment where Bradley Blaze tried to lift The Most Wanted and I think he targeted their future opponents. I believe The Most Wanted will forget about the LSW Texan Heavyweight for a while to focus in the Tag Team title, Miller Fforde and the trio of Hangman, Cobra and Century, giving other an opportunity to challenge Joffy.

LSW Mid South Tag Series 2 - Qualifiers
Thursday, Week 1, April 2021
Held in Austin, TX (Mid South) in front of 617 people
25,475 viewers on WrestleWorld

Ricky Dale Johnson and his assistant Mya Catalan welcome everybody to the Qualifers of the Mid South Tag Series, reminding that the six tag teams that will emerge victorious from their respective matches will qualify for the singles-elimination tournament tomorrow. LSW Tag Team champs The American Cobras and last year's winners The Big Guns already have a spot in the final rounds. [43]

The Heartbreak Express (Johnny Needham, Ralph Liotta) vs The Hot Taggs (Kalder Tagg, Wolfie Tagg)
In a bout that has a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, The Heartbreak Express defeat The Hot Taggs in eight minutes when Ralph Liotta pins Wolfie Tagg after the combined finisher called The Score. Sweet Tabitha does some good work at ringside. [33]

The Canadian Blondes (Flash Savage, Ozzie Goldstein) vs The Oklahomans (Jason Patterson, Jules Night)
In a decent bout, The Canadian Blondes defeat The Oklahomans when Flash Savage pins Jason Patterson after twelve minutes in a hard-fought open match. This bout gets the crowd hotter. [39]

As The Architect and The Dreadnought are already in the ring, being called with their new tag team names The War Engine, their opponents for tonight are The Nation of Filth! Greeted with sympathy by the Austin audience, Grunt and Stink are a well known duo who worked for TCW for a long time, and still have some name value on the Mid South scene. [32]

The War Engine (The Architect, The Dreadnought) vs Nation Of Filth (Grunt, Stink)
In a bout that has good heat but terrible wrestling, Dreadnought dominates both Grunt and Stink, who don't seem to be in great shape. After mauling them for five minutes, The Architect only joins the ring to count the winning pinfall. [8]

The Hive (Quentin Queen, Remmy Honeyman) vs The Casey Brothers
In a decent match, The Hive defeat The Casey Brothers in eleven minutes when Quentin Queen pins Chuck Casey with The Double Sting. The Casey Brothers, a solid young duo out of the Tri State indie scene, do their job and have a decent performance. Maybe we'll see them again here in Lone Star Wrestling. [40]

While Al Coleman and new LSW Brass Knuckles champ Rob Reynolds are already in the ring, Ernest Youngman walks out and he's quickly joined by LSW new talent "Hollywood" Jake Idol! A tall, good-looking wrestler from California, Jake Idol is a longtime friend of "The Assassin", who now seems to have someone he can trust even here in the Mid South, besides Venus Angeletti of course. [35]

Al Coleman, Rob Reynolds vs Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol
In a good match, the heelish friends score the W and qualify for the Series in almost fourteen minutes, when debutant Jake Idol pins Al Coleman with a Reality Check. Ernest Youngman has carried the match in terms of in-ring performance. [56]

In a taped video, The Big Guns talk about last year's win and how they will bring home the Mid South Tag Series again. [41]

The Strong Hand (Texas Hangman, Cobra) vs Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde
The main event of this Qualifiers, in a good match the babyfaces snatch a ticket to the final stages thanks to an intentional DQ by Texas Hangman, who loses his head twelve minutes into the match, due to a few too many difficulties on the part of his team against Joffy Laine and Miller Fforde who put on a great performance. [44]

After the match, Joffy Laine and Miller Fforde are able to escape Hangman's fury, retrieving on the stage when they have a staredown with the executioner and Cobra. Meanwhile, Travis Century seems everything but happy with the DQ caused by his "adept". [39]

Preview for LSW Mid South Tag Series 2

xFhSTE5.png

#1. The Big Guns (Cowboy Buck Winchester, Outlaw Wes Revell)
Qualified as last year's winners, Cowboy Buck Winchester and Outlaw Wes Revell have been THE tag team in LSW since the beginning, although they recently lost the LSW Tag Team Heavyweight titles at the hands of The American Cobras. Part of The Most Wanted, these two tough-as-nails Texan brawlers should be considered among the favorites to take home the second edition of the Mid South Tag Series as well.

#2. Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde
Qualified after defeating Texas Hangman and Cobra by DQ, this babyface duo has incredible resilience and a never-say-die attitude to be reckoned with, despite the fact that the two have hardly ever teamed up as a tag team. Joffy Laine is also the LSW Texas Heavyweight champ and the face of his hometown promotion, while "The Fighting Underdog" Miller Fforde is struggling to rise from the midcard, having arrived in LSW just a few months ago.

#3. The Hive (Remmy Honeyman, Quentin Queen)
Qualified after scoring a W over The Casey Brothers, an interesting young tag team from Tri State area that attempted the big hit in their LSW debut, Remmy Honeyman and Quentin Queen talked about how important it would be for them to take home the Mid South Tag Series so they can ignite their run in Lone Star Wrestling after a pretty decent 2020.

#4. The War Engine (The Architect, The Dreadnought)
The dangerous pairing of The Architect and The Dreadnought has a new name: THE WAR ENGINE! The scheming villain and the behemoth snatched a ticket to the Series by squashing Nation Of Filth, Grunt and Stink, during the Qualfiers. The veterans proved to be nothing more than a nostalgia act, getting ripped to shreds mostly by The Dreadnought, as the young masked heavyweight once again showedcased his power. And with such a partner, one gets the feeling that The Architect hit the jackpot.

#5. The American Cobras (Marvel Malloy, Storm Spillane)
Qualified as current LSW tag team champs, Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane were the runner up last year, losing to The Big Guns in the finals. After winning the tag team title belts just last month of their own against Cowboy Buck Winchester and Outlaw Wes Revell, The American Cobras are the absolute fan favorites to bring home the trophy, another accolade in their ever-expanding palmares.

#6. The Canadian Blondes (Flash Savage, Ozzie Goldstein)
Qualified after defeating The Oklahomans the day before, Flash Savage and Ozzie Goldstein took a little risk against Jason Patterson and Jules Night, but still came out on top in the end. Their upcoming match in the Series is a tough one against The American Cobras, but since they themselves recently teased Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane to have a championship match, this could be the perfect opportunity for The Canadian Blondes.

#7. The Heartbreak Express (Johnny Needham, Ralph Liotta)
Qualified after overcoming The Hot Taggs, a pair of young and menacing brawlers from Montana, The Heartbreak Express are ready to derail their opponents during the single-elimination tournament. Accompanied by their friend and valet Sweet Tabitha, Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta trying to overcome the rosiest odds to win the Series.

#8. Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol
Qualified after defeating Brass Knuckles champ Rob Reynolds and Al Coleman, anyone was surprised when "Hollywood" Jake Idol arrived in the Lone Star State to team up with Ernest Youngman, his longtime friend and one of the very few people "The Assassin" trusts in his own life. These two have known each other for years, have wrestled together long down in Pittsburgh, do not underestimate them!

I know that The Nation Of Filth stink (pun intended), but even so an 8 feels harsh!

First Round: The Big Guns vs Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde [1 Pts]
I wouldn't normally pick the team with no name, but I think that Dreadnaught is going to have a big tournament so I'm going for the faces to win here
First Round: The Hive vs The War Engine [1 Pts]
Dreadnaught's first victims
First Round: The American Cobras vs The Canadian Blondes [1 Pts]
I'm backing the new tag champs
First Round: The Heartbreak Express vs Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol [1 Pts]
Yes I know what I said for the first prediction, move on
Semifinal: Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde vs The War Engine [1 Pts]
Dreadnaught's second victims. I think Miller is here to take the fall
Semifinal: The American Cobras vs Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol [1 Pts]
Going for the babyfaces

Final: The War Engine vs The American Cobras [3 Pts]
Going for the American Cobras to go one better this year and ruin Dreadnaught's party

Mid South Madness! Those who will correctly predict the whole bracket will gain three extra points!

First Round: The Big Guns vs Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde [1 Pts]
Losing here sets up The Big Guns (and the rest of The Most Wanted) to cost Laine and Fforde down the line.

First Round: The Hive vs The War Engine [1 Pts]
Personal preference mostly.

First Round: The American Cobras vs The Canadian Blondes [1 Pts]
Logic suggests The Canadian Blondes win here to legitimise themselves as the next number one contenders, but I think the champions need to avoid losing their first match as champions.

First Round: The Heartbreak Express vs Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol [1 Pts]
I think this might be setting up for the MSW version of Youngman's Steel Circle stable in PSW.

Semifinal: Winner of 1st match of the First Round (Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde) vs Winner of 2nd match of the First Round (The War Engine) [1 Pts]
Dreadnought is kept strong by the world champion being the only man to better him in a match so far.

Semifinal: Winner of 3rd match of the First Round (The American Cobras) vs Winner of 4th match of the First Round (Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol) [1 Pts]
A shock as two non-teams make it all the way to the finals.

Final: Winner of 1st Semifinal (Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde) vs Winner of 2nd Semifinal (Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol) [3 Pts]
Ernest Youngman picks up a win here over the champion, courtesy of The Most Wanted costing Laine and Fforde the match. This serves the dual purpose of giving Youngman the win over Laine to establish him as the next main challenger for the belt, and Fforde having umbrage with Bradley Blaze for costing him a big tournament victory, setting up a feud between the two.

First Round: The Big Guns vs Joffy Laine, Miller Fforde [1 Pts]

I feel like the Most Wanted need to spiral a bit more right now

First Round: The Hive vs The War Engine [1 Pts]

Because Dreadnought is really bad (at least, he always is for me)

First Round: The American Cobras vs The Canadian Blondes [1 Pts]

This is a difficult one as honestly I'd make this the final, but the Cobras only just won the titles and losing in the first round would undermine them too much.

First Round: The Heartbreak Express vs Ernest Youngman, Jake Idol [1 Pts]

Named teams always beats two individuals (especially when one of them already has a tag partner)

Semifinal: Joffy Laine & Miller Fforde vs The Hive [1 Pts]

Laine and Fforde are the bigger stars and The Hive don't feel like a big enough deal to make a win for them worthwhile.

Semifinal: American Cobras  vs The Heartbreak Express [1 Pts]

I could see this going the other way but this sets up a natural challenger for the Cobras

Final: Laine & Fforde vs The Heartbreak Express [3 Pts]

At this point I'm basically just guessing.
