Remo def. American Machine (79)

The 4-time SWF World Heavyweight champion Remo opens the show in Maine facing American Machine. Very good match to work the crowd. The two heavyweights show their power to start the match but, as minutes pass, American Machine started to run out of energy and the champion connected a devastating spear. The crowd supported the veteran babyface but it only made Remo want to do more harm to his opponent.

Remo finished American Machine with The Destroyer in 10 minutes. The Destruction Sector, where Remo's fans are seated, celebrates the result and Remo raises the belt looking at them. Match Of The Night.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: After the match, the camera follows Remo to the backstage. We see Hannah talking to Mikey Lau and it seems like she's helping him with some kind of mental training. Remo passes by and stops to laugh at them. Mikey Lau confronts the champion and Remo mocks Hannah's methods. Hannah tries to get in middle to mediate but Remo pushes her and she falls to the ground. Lau bends down to see how is Hannah while her knee hurts badly. Remo hits Lau from behind and leaves him lying on the ground  (81)

 

 

 

 

Duane Fry yells "Deever Arnold is here in SWF!" at the announcers table when he makes a surprising appearance. "The Rampage" Deever Arnold, a former RIPW and RIPW Tag Team champion in SWF's developmental territory,  will make his debut tonight!

 

 

Zeus Maxmillion def. Deever Arnold (54)

The Bronzed God looks for his third win in SWF in this match, while The Rampage is here to try to impress the SWF officials and the fans. Arnold doesn't waste time to show his aerial skills with a meteora. It was a matter of time for Zeus to intercept Arnold and finally he did it. Zeus connected a superman punch when Arnold was falling for another dive. They tried to steal the show in this match but they fell short. Finally, Zeus Maxmillion submitted Deever Arnold with the Olympian Clutch in 8 minutes to win the match.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: SWF North American champion comes out dressed like an Olympian athlete with the American flag raising the belt after beating Angry Gilmore in his hometown at Toronto Takeover. Surprisingly, the crowd in Maine welcomes him with "U-S-A! U-S-A!" chants and he follows them raising his fist. Des Davids gives a powerful speech explaining how important was for him to represent his country abroad, something he has never felt in his entire life, not even when he was a football star back in college. Davids ends his speech with "Thank you, Maine, and God Bless America!" receiving an standing ovation.

Emma Chase at the announcers table points out that "the last event in Canada has changed the perception of the American audience, he has become kind of a national hero, clearly Des Davids is now a babyface" (82)

 

 

 

Jack Giedroyc def. John Greed (68)

Jack Giedroyc faced The Eighth Deadly Sin in a match that was all about storytelling. They did a good job to portray Giedroyc as someone who has already experienced what it's like to make mistakes in life, in comparison to Greed, who doesn't regret any of his misdeeds. Greed complained to the referee from the beginning and used the distractions to hit a low blow while he wasn't looking at them. Giedroyc survived the first pin attempt of the match.

It was going to be a difficult and long match for Giedroyc and he had to match Greed's tricks to gain the advantage. Later Greed kicked out at 2 after Giedroyc hit him with a Commonwealth Superpunch. After 17 minutes, Jack Giedroyc won the match with the Crashing On.

 

 

 

 

 

ANGLE: Hollywood Uncensored make their entrance to a new theme song. The techno-pop beat plays and Justin Sensitive comes out in front dancing as if he was coming out of an after party, "Bad, Bad" Lenny Brown takes out his sunglasses and winks at the camera while raising an eyebrow, Mainstream Hernandez does a cartwheel followed by an impressive backflip and the NETSTREAM Intercontinental champion Hollywood Brett Starr raises his belt while he strokes his chin and pouts lips.Then they head to the ring dancing like drunken friends leaving a night club. It's unnecessary to say that they got booed loudly from the very beginning.

 

Brett Starr presents "the man of the moment and Zimmy's worst nightmare Mainstream Hernandez" but the only ones who applaud are them. Bret Starr says that ZWB is now out of the question as a possible challenger for his NETSTREAM Intercontinental title after failing to defeat all members of Hollywood Uncensored.

 

 

SWF booker Eric Eisen comes out in that moment and says Bret Starr can't decide who's a valid challenger or not. Brett Starr tries to use the same tactics that took effect last time, threatening that the NETSTREAM owner has become their friend, but before he can even finish Eisen replies that he's talked to him and he won't oppose to Eisen's decisions. Hollywood Uncensored complain but Eric Eisen leaves. At the announcers table Duane Fry asks "what do you think is going to happen next?" (69)

 

 

 

 

Monty Trescarde and Sammy “Loan Shark” Smoke were announced for the next match as individuals but they come out as a new tag team called Wall Street Wolverines with a cool entrance theme.

 

 

The Rock City Stars (Rockin' Ryan Turner & Stan Manna) def. Wall Street Wolverines (Monty Trescarde & Sammy Smoke) (53)

The Rock City Stars are 3-0 in 2vs2 matches in SWF. Stan Manna and Sammy Smoke opened the match. Stan Manna controlled the first minutes but then Loan Shark surprised him with a new move, the Shark Bite. Stan Manna kicked out at 2. Trescarde and Ryan Turner faced each other later. Ryan Turner did a nice job to keep a stronger opponent at a distance until Stan Manna got tagged in again and The Rock City Stars finished Trescarde with The Cover Version.

 

 

Valiant def. Bear Bekowski (72)

An interesting wild brawl where the Californian all-American had to work a little bit to recover from a slow start dominated by the Bear Trap and other aggressive moves by Bekowski. The crowd in Maine showed unconditional support to Valiant during this match. The babyface made his comeback and then took the action out of the ring where he punished Bekowski against the barricade. Valiant hit Bekowski with the Patriot Missile for a solid win in 10 minutes.

Atom Smasher def. Robbie Retro (69)

The Radioactive Wrecking Machine vs The Disco Stud. Two great gimmicks in this match but the bout wasn't at the required level for a Supreme TV Main Event and the fans were not as hot as they should be. The storytelling was the key in this match. Smasher used his poses to make the fans angrier while Retro amazed them with his dance moves, but the action wasn't as good. Retro tried to surprise Smasher with a roll-up after a moonwalk, but Smasher kicked out at 1.

Around the 10 minute mark, Smasher connected a Radiation Blast on Retro, but The Disco Stud kicked out at 2. Retro stayed in the match but he was clearly behind at this point. Smasher hit Retro with the Mushroom Cloud for the victory. The crowd booed Smasher while he celebrated doing some poses.

Atom Smasher def. Robbie Retro (69) in Supreme TV. One of the weakest main events this year but still enough to lead the ratings this week.

 

Nicky Champion def. Rick Law by DQ in a match that had been for the USPW World title (85) in the Main Event of American Wrestling. Despite losing this week, USPW still holds a 3 point lead in the monthly average over SWF.

 

Aaron Andrews def. Titan by DQ (80) in the Main Event of TCW Presents Total Wrestling.

A number of shock results! I definitely didn't see Gilmore losing - it begs the question who will be the man to take the NA title from Davids. He's almost gotten too big for the division, so a loss may hurt him more than it helps the next champ. Perhaps a multi man match may be the answer?

I was also surprised to see ZWB losing. I like the idea of Mainstream Hernandez as his 'kryptonite', but again - where does he go from here?

 

@Charasmatic Enigma I was looking for a good way to turn Davids face for a long time. A Main Event in a PPV in Canada was enough of a deal in my opinion to make an impact in the perception of the fans. ZWB losing was an unexpected plot twist I guess and there are many ways to continue the story, we'll see what happens 😆

Yep @SIser187 it was a tough night for Canadians overall. I sold Hernandez victory as a match where the crowd was split between the babyface (ZWB) and the Canadian heel, but obviously Angry Gilmore's title match was the most anticipated match and it ended in a loss.

(Tuesday, week 4, May 2020. Richardson Stadium, Davidson, NC. Attendance: 6000 SELL OUT!)

 

 

 

The Crippler def. Darryl Devine (64)

After losing to Rocky Golden at Toronto Takeover, The Crippler faced Mighty Fine to open the show in North Carolina. It was a match to work the crowd that didn't work well as they didn't click. They showed their technical skills in this match but the action was too slow for the aim of the match. Mighty Fine went for the Devine Dream Drop but The Crippler avoided it and defeated Devine with the Tombstone Piledriver.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: We see SWF booker Eric Eisen talking to Mikey Lau in the backstage. Lau seems recovered after Remo's attack last week, but Eisen tells him that medical tests on Hannah's knee suggest she will be injured for a long time. Mikey Lau says that Remo caused her injury and he should pay for it. The conversation continues but we don't see how it ends. This segment gets the crowd hotter after a slow start (77)

 

 

 

Steven Parker def. John Greed (71)

The Sensational and The Eighth Deadly Sin stole the show in this match. Greed used a variety of tricks to hold the advantage during the first 5 minutes or so, but the crowd in North Carolina fueled Parker from the beginning and he used his charisma in his favor. Parker began his comeback with a standing hold and, when Greed got rid of him, he kept pushing with a sensational crossbody. In 10 minutes, Parker finished Greed with the Future Shock and the fans celebrated in a big way.

 

 

 

Jungle Lord def. Makutsi (62)

The first match of the year for Makutsi, who is rumored to have problems with soft drugs that would be impairing his performance. Lord and Makutsi got in a wild brawl from the beginning. The two heavyweights showed their power and toughness in and out of the ring and were even for the first minutes. Then Makutsi ran out of energy dramatically (due to soft drugs use?) and Lord took over. Jungle Lord hit Makutsi with the Jungle-Jack Jammer to win the match in just 8 minutes.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: After losing his last opportunity to become a 4-time SWF North American champion in his hometown Toronto, Angry Gilmore makes his entrance and gets booed loudly by the North Carolina fans. Gilmore was wearing the Canada flag and used the O Canada anthem as his entrance theme. Gilmore couldn't stand the boos and showed his "Angry" personality saying they were "nothing more than a bunch of rednecks". Gilmore was booed even louder.

At the announcers table, Emma Chase pointed out that their match in Canada has clearly changed everything for Des Davids and Angry Gimore and now the fans in USA perceive Davids as a national hero and Gilmore as a foreign villain (78)

 

 

 

One Man Army def. Paul Huntingdon (63)

Paul Huntingdon is transitioning from a tag team guy to a singles wrestler, while One Man Army has won 2 matches since he joined SWF. It was all about storytelling with a tough guy like One Man Army facing someone who was born with a silver spoon like Huntingdon. However, Paul Huntingdon showed in his last match vs Rogue he's struggling in this transition and this match wasn't different. One Man Army controlled the action but they failed to tell a good story and Huntingdon repeatedly insulted the fans but never got a big reaction. Huntingdon's best moment was a submission attempt with an ankle hold. After 16 minutes, One Man Army connected the Guided Missile on Huntingdon.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: ZWB is in the ring to demand the presence of the SWF booker Eric Eisen. ZWB lost to Mainstream Hernandez at Toronto Takeover and failed to defeat all members of Hollywood Uncensored in order to face the NETSTREAM Intercontinental champion Hollywood Bret Starr. Zimmy asks Eisen for one last chance to fulfil the challenge...

 

 

 

Suddenly, Hollywood Uncensored make their entrance. Just like they did last week, Justin Sensitive comes out in front dancing as if he was coming out of an after party, "Bad, Bad" Lenny Brown takes out his sunglasses and winks at the camera while raising an eyebrow, Mainstream Hernandez does a cartwheel followed by an impressive backflip and the NETSTREAM Intercontinental champion Hollywood Brett Starr raises his belt while he strokes his chin and pouts lips. Then they head to the ring dancing like drunken friends leaving a night club. They got booed even louder than last week.

Hollywood Bret Starr tells Eric Eisen that ZWB's chances to have a shot at his title are over, but it only made Eisen more likely to accept Zimmy's demands.

Finally Eric Eisen made his decision: ZWB will face Mainstream Hernandez and Lenny Brown in a Handicap Match next week and if ZWB wins he will face Hollywood Bret Starr for the NETSTREAM Intercontinental title (76)

 

 

 

The Dallas Cowboys (Mashall Dillon & Ranger) def. The Domination (Avalanche & Chill), Faith & Old Glory (Matty Faith & Masked Patriot) and The Rock City Stars (Rockin' Ryan Turner & Stan Manna) (67)

It wasn't a title shot match but it was a good opportunity to see who is who in the tag team division. The Rock City Stars came to this match with a 4-0 record in 2vs2 matches. The Dallas Cowboys are the only tag team who has beaten the SWF World Tag Team champions The Awesomeness this year. The Domination have been pretty strong since Demolition faction was formed (with Primus Allen and Kristen Pearce as their manager). Faith & Old Glory came off a solid win over Fame & Glory that provoked their break up.

The Rock City Stars and The Domination controlled the first minutes with good performances from Ryan Turner and the powerful Avalanche. As others got tagged in, Marshall Dillon did a wonderful job to get the advantage. Masked Patriot, who had one of the best performances, still had one last chance to win the match but Stan Manna kicked out at 2 after a standup crossover. Marshall Dillon pinned Chill with the Crackdown to win the match. Big win for The Dallas Cowboys.

"Platinum" James Prudence has a big opportunity to main event Supreme TV and to win his first singles title in SWF. Des Davids is white hot after defeating a legend like 3-time North American champion Gilmore for the third straight time. Davids has a strong start to the match with a few tackles that delight the fans in North Carolina. Platinum stepped down the ring to breath a little bit and then managed to slow down Davids with a ground lock. It was only a matter of time before Davids could get his hands on Platinum for a powerful move. Davids hit Prudence with a punt kick and pinned him, but Prudence kicked out at 1.

Later, Prudence avoided a Touch Down and trapped Davids with a leglock. The champion struggled a little bit to reach the ropes while the crowd chanted his name. Davids took Prudence later for a big throw outside of the ring, then Davids repeated the move as he was actually launching a football ball while the crowd celebrated. Prudence survived another punt kick, kicking out at 2. Then, Davids went for the Touch Down and this time he didn't miss the opportunity. Davids covered Prudence for the 3-count. Supreme TV's announcer Duane Fry said "YES! 8th title defence for Des Davids! Unbelievable guys".

Melody def. Alicia Strong to retain the USPW Women's title (83) in the Main Event of American Wrestling. USPW leads the monthly average for the second consecutive month.

 

Des Davids def. James Prudence to retain the SWF North American title (77) in Supreme TV. After leading the first three months of the year, this was the worst monthly average of the year so far for SWF.

 

 

PPVs ratings don't look better for SWF, as they also finished in third place this month.

With that being said, he is still one of my stars and as @Charasmatic Enigma said it's still a bit too early for Devine to defeat someone like The Crippler. You've played up their undefeated streak, so I think they may be next in line for a title shot

 

I knew that, even if I didn't specify if it was a title shot match or not, some may take it as a title shot match. But it wasn't and that will be part of the story, so stay tuned. However, I like how some of you envision The Rock City Stars comparing to The Awesomeness.

It was another good performance from The Dallas Cowboys (Marshall Dillon and Masked Patriot had the best performances with Ranger just one point behind them) and they confirmed me that they are a force to be reckon in the tag team division.

Des Davids facing a heel like James Prudence back in America completed Davids' turn. @Shmoe II it's a very patriotic approach, kayfabe I thought about it as if Eric Eisen was trying to counterattack USPW's patriotism. After all, USPW are beating us in the last weeks. Eisen sent some wrestlers to RIPW, made some changes here and there to appeal to USPW audience... we'll see if the strategy works or not.

@Wrestling Machine thank you for your additional comments. Heading to Toronto Takeover I had to switch the focus to those titles because I didn't want to have Remo in that card and not main eventing. But Remo will be pushed back to the spotlight very soon, I'm starting that process in the last segments with Lau (in terms of ratings they are working well) and you'll see more things are coming in the World Heavyweight title scene in the next Supreme TV card!

Gilmore as a heel. Interesting. He hasn't been a heel in the SWF I don't think in canon for over a decade so it'd be very fresh there. Still, he should wallop Oliver even if I'm not feeling the Pro Canada heel angle for him so much in terms of a character.

Angry Gilmore def. Oliver Kobb (68)

Angry Gilmore got booed from start to finish in this match to work the crowd. He showed his new 'Angry' personality with crude comments about the city of Chicago and its inhabitants. In one of these moments, Gilmore compared former baseball player Oliver Kobb with "all those shitty players you've got in this city since Michael Jordan". A fan in the first rows had a "6 hrs driving from Kentucky to see you Oliver Kobb" sign (Kobb was formerly known as Kentucky Bill but he's not from Kentucky though) and Gilmore didn't waste time to tell the fan he was "even dumber than the fans in Chicago". Gilmore easily won with the Anger Management in 10 minutes. A weak opening match that confirmed Gilmore's turn.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: 4-time SWF World Heavyweight champion Remo is in the ring to deliver a powerful speech. The champion starts saying he doesn't care about Hannah's injury or Mikey Lau. But he doesn't stop there. Remo says Mikey Lau isn't as different from him as people may think and he doesn't really care about Hannah either. Remo says that Lau knows Hannah's mental training methods are rubbish but he was trying to get laid with her. Remo adds he doesn't blame Lau because Hannah is fine.

Remo goes on saying the only thing he cares about is the World title and believes that Mikey Lau would do anything to have it around his waist. In fact, Remo thinks that Mikey Lau let Hannah get between them because he didn't want to confront him and that is the real cause why she was injured. The crowd boos Remo but he insists that time will probe he was right about Lau and then the fans will have to apologize to him (78)

 

 

 

Brandon James def. Brett Biggins  (69)

Accompanied by the superhot Krissy Angelle, Brandon James completely dismantled Brett Biggins in a match that had no story. James punished Biggins for 8 minutes while Krissy Angelle repeatedly insulted the fans. James willingly stopped the 3-count to punish Biggins a little bit more after the Big Money Move. James then used the Brandon Bomb Drop and still didn't go for the cover to finish Biggins with a devastating piledriver. Krissy Angelle raised James arm after his victory.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: Ana Garcia interviews Unleashed Awesomeness in the backstage. She asks SWF World Tag Team champions The Awesomeness about The Dallas Cowboys' big win in a Four-Way Tag-Team Match last week and reminds them that they are the only tag team that has beaten them this year. Jefferson Stardust replies "it wasn't a Title Shot Match. Come on Ana, you can do better" and Huey Cannonball adds "I don't like The Dallas Cowboys but they aren't a threat to us. Did they beat us one time this year? Who will remind that match in a few months? We've got the titles!". Randy Unleashed said "The Dallas Cowboys are laughable, they don't deserve that much attention". When Ana Garcia was about to say something...

 

 

SWF booker Eric Eisen, who was listening to the interview, says that "it's good that you're not afraid of your opponents because we will repeat the same Four-Way Tag-Team Match next week and this time it will be a Title Shot Match!". The announcement excites the crowd while Unleashed Awesomeness are left speechless  (67)

 

 

 

Charger Siaki def. Roderick Remus (57)

BJ O'Neill's client Charger Siaki and one of the latest signings Roderick Remus were in this match. Remus' reputation as a show stealer didn't help them to steal the show because the action was too inconsistent. Siaki used his incredible power to dictate the first minutes. Then Remus made a comeback and even had a good opportunity to win by submission with a headlock. Siaki, who had been very close to win against some of the finest wrestlers in the company, finally got his victory when Remus couldn't pass the Crash Test. BJ O'Neill boasted his client was the number one and humiliated Remus making the L (Loser) sign on her forehead

 

 

 

 

 

The lights turn off and Scythe makes his entrance slowly walking to the ring. All the fans take their cellphones out and the expectation to see The Reaper in action is maximum. Scythe's entrance was worthy of one of the hottest stars in the company and it got the biggest pop of the night in Chicago (87)

 

 

 

 

Scythe def. Jungle Lord (83)

Jungle Lord and The Reaper delivered a fantastic wild brawl in a match that the fans in Chicago will take a while to forget. 44-year-old Lord received "you still got it!" chants when he surprised Scythe with a perfect monkey flip in the first minutes. Scythe replied later with a thunderous running powerslam. Lord showed his determination to stay in the match surviving the first pin attempt.

Then Lord returned with a banana split submission but Scythe avoided it with a couple of elbow blows. It was Jungle Lord's best moment and he even tried to pick up Scythe's 328 lbs for a Gorilla Press! Obviously Lord's back couldn't take it, but the crowd rewarded him with a round of applause anyways. Then Scythe took control until the end. After 10 minutes, Scythe finished Lord with the Choke Slam. Match Of The Night.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: SWF North American champion Des Davids makes another patriotic entrance and the crowd in Chicago welcomes him with a standing ovation. Davids thanks the fans and emphasizes that he wants his North American title reign to be remembered as the greatest of all time...

 

 

 

Randy Unleashed makes his entrance to Barney Stinson's famous video to interrupt the champion (changing phrase at the end when posing with the USA flag from "Barney Stinson, hired" to "Randy Unleashed, North American champion"). Randy says Davids is boring him with his speech. Randomly, Randy Unleashed challenges Des Davids to a title match "to make his reign more interesting" he says. Davids, still upset about the interruption, responds that "this is not the time to talk about title matches" because he's addressing the fans in Chicago. Randy says he understands his duties as a champion and apparently returns to the backstage...

 

 

Suddenly, The Awesomeness surprise Des Davids attacking him from behind. The crowd boos Unleashed Awesomeness while The Awesomeness hold Davids so that Randy can hit him with the Running Enziguri (78)

 

 

 

 

Hollywood Uncensored (Mainstream Hernandez and Lenny Brown) def. ZWB in a Handicap Match (81)

A great match that stole the show in less than 10 minutes. "ZWB! ZWB!" chants showed tremendous support from the crowd to start the match. ZWB connected a double kick on Lenny Brown that sent him out of the ring, followed by a suicide dive. Mainstream Hernandez was ready on the corner to jump to the outside landing on ZWB with an electrifying moonsault. It was only the beginning of a nightmare for Zimmy.

Brown and Hernandez took turns to punish ZWB, who made an awesome job to sell their moves to be honest. It was hard to see the beating Zimmy was receiving at some points, with the rest of Hollywood Uncensored (Hollywood Brett Starr and Justin Sensitive) enjoying it from their seats. The crowd booed them loudly but they didn't care a bit. Finally, Zimmy's worst nightmare Mainstream Hernandez finished ZWB with the Super Kick. Hollywood Uncensored celebrated in the middle of the ring while Zimmy left the ring completely disappointed. ZWB needed to win this match to earn a title shot at Hollywood Brett Starr's NETSTREAM Intercontinental title, now ZWB's dreams are broken.

 

 

 

     

 

ANGLE: In the backstage, Valiant is wishing best of luck to his tag team partner Jack Giedroyc before his Title Shot Match. Valiant praises Jack for his hard work and fantastic change of attitude saying he now reminds him of the British prodigy he met when he joined he company back in 2007.

"Platinum" James Prudence is listening to them and sarcastically tells them to rent a room to be able to kiss whenever they want. Valiant is about to go after Prudence but Giedroyc tells him "not now, not now". This segment gets the crowd hotter (83)

 

 

 

Main Event: SWF World Heavyweight Title Shot Match

 

 

Jack Giedroyc def. The Crippler, Atom Smasher and Rocky Golden (76)

 

Four top dogs in the company fighting for a title shot at Remo's SWF World Heavyweight title at Times Of Trouble in this match. It was all about storytelling. From the very beginning, Rocky Golden and The Crippler, who have been feuding in past weeks, fought each other. Giedroyc and Smasher confronted each other but the intensity between them was much lower, with Smasher taking time to do some poses while Giedroyc lifted the crowd in search of their support.

The Crippler tried to submit Rocky with a full nelson, but Rocky got rid of him using his superior strength. On the other side, Giedroyc avoids the Radiation Blast and goes for the Crashing On but Smasher dodges the finisher as well. After this phase, the match turns chaotic with the four of them fighting in the middle of the ring.

Rocky Golden hit Atom Smasher with the Rocky Road but when he was about to make the cover The Crippler pulled him from one leg and Rocky fell outside the ring. Then The Crippler pushed Smasher out of the ring as well. But when The Crippler turned on his back, Jack Giedroyc was waiting to welcome him with the Crashing On. The crowd counted out loud "1, 2, 3". At the announcers table, Duane Fry closed the show saying "a redeemed Jack Giedroyc will face the SWF World Heavyweight champion Remo at Times Of Trouble in less than two weeks!".
