The ROCKVERSE Revamped - back by unpopular demand (technically no demand at all, exactly zero demand)

From bar rooms, back alleys, old theaters and parks...

To large arenas, and giant stadiums...

Welcome to The Rockverse - from back alley brawls, dingy theaters and beer soaked bar rooms, to modern venues, grand arenas and huge stadiums, professional wrestling transcends the boundaries of conventional settings, embracing the grit of those back alleys, the charm and character of those dingy theaters, and the raucous atmosphere of those beer soaked barrooms with as much fervor as it does the grand arenas and huge stadiums.

Beneath the flickering lights and cheers from the crowd, a diverse array of performers step into the ring, each driven by a passion for the art of performance and a relentless desire to entertain. Regardless of the financial stature of the companies producing these shows, whether they be grassroots organizations scraping by or colossal enterprises commanding global attention, one element remains constant: the unyielding dedication to entertaining the audience.

Professional wrestling is spectacle, a symphony of athleticism, storytelling, and showmanship. It's where heroes rise, villains fall, and underdogs defy the odds. In The Rockverse, the only limit is the boundless imagination of those who dare to dream.

For those of you who don't know, The ROCKVERSE is a fictional mod I was working on way back in 2016. I managed to release the USA region completely but ended up having a couple mishaps and losing my data a couple times, and long story short, I lost all motivation to complete it. Well a few weeks back I managed to recover one of my save files from way back when and it managed to spark me creatively to pick this back up. So here we are. I've redone all the graphics in a comic book/graphic novel style to give it a more signature look, instead of so closely resembling the CV. I've redone all the belts as well and updated the workers age to reflect the updated start date of 2020. At this point I'm working on the title histories for the US companies, and at that point I should be able to release this. As of now I currently plan on continuing with the other regions as all the lore and backstory has been created, I just need to complete the rosters. I can't promise that I will complete the entire mod but I will certainly try. As always I must thank my co-creator @The Swanton825 for all the hard work in creating incredible bios and backstories for many of these characters. So hopefully this interests a few of you, and you get some enjoyment out of the mod, or the partly created mod, or whatever you want to call it.

Universal Federation Of Pro Wrestling - The very first empire

image.jpeg.9eb40a0a52abc9d82f788d5575b03f5c.jpegimage.jpeg.e8005037481dd296757f4aee873efd94.jpeg

Victor and Trevor Fortune - The patriarch of the empire & the prodigal son that watched as Rome burned

Victor Fortune led a life that seemed straight out of a fairy tale. As a thriving real estate magnate, he reveled in the luxuries that money could buy—private jets, sprawling vacation retreats dotted across the globe, and a personal fleet of cars at his beck and call. Yet, despite his opulent lifestyle, Fortune found himself yearning for something more. His heart tugged him back to his childhood days, reminiscing about the exhilarating pro wrestling matches he cherished from the traveling carnivals of yesteryears. Those larger-than-life characters and the adrenaline-fueled contests had left an indelible mark on his soul.

Little did Fortune realize that his seemingly outlandish idea would revolutionize the world of wrestling forever. Sensing the burgeoning popularity of professional wrestling, he envisioned a business model that could elevate it to a global spectacle. With his boundless resources, Fortune embarked on a mission to assemble the most formidable roster of wrestling talent ever seen. In the summer of 1963, his vision materialized into the birth of the Universal Federation of Professional Wrestling (UFPW), sending shockwaves through the industry.

While Fortune steered the ship for nearly two decades, in 1981, he passed the torch to his son Trevor. Under Trevor's stewardship, the UFPW underwent a transformative shift, morphing into what he dubbed "sports entertainment"—a fusion of athleticism and dramatic storytelling akin to a male-centric soap opera. And it was during one of Trevor's scouting expeditions overseas that fate intervened, forever altering the course of UFPW history.

image.jpeg.a8a2ff226ed2ab6ff5b1d83f8c7da155.jpeg

Hugo Prescott - wrestling's first global megastar

In Japan, Trevor encountered Hugo Prescott, a powerhouse wrestler brimming with charisma and a chiseled physique that commanded attention. Swiftly signing Prescott, Trevor propelled him to superstardom, positioning him as the beloved face of UFPW and a global icon. His legendary clashes with Larry McMasters, UFPW's top heel, became the stuff of wrestling folklore, captivating audiences worldwide.

Yet, tragedy struck in 1996 when Prescott was killed in a motorcycle accident, leaving a void in UFPW's star-studded lineup. With McMasters also departing to forge his own wrestling empire, UFPW struggled to retain its footing. Despite valiant efforts to stay afloat, the relentless tide of financial woes eventually forced UFPW to shutter its doors in 1999, marking the end of an era in the world of professional wrestling.

All American Championship Wrestling - a tradition for over half a century

image.jpeg.c608530762d960ff9eca06a166bfe8d5.jpeg

Brad Bridger - the last boss in the territories

Brad Bridger's All American Championship Wrestling burst onto the scene in 1953, claiming the title of the nation's oldest wrestling promotion and proudly standing as one of the few remaining regional stalwarts. As the Universal Federation of Professional Wrestling expanded its reach, AACW became a sanctuary for the stars left unsigned. While UFPW dazzled with its larger-than-life personas, AACW carved its niche with characters grounded in reality, resonating with the blue-collar ethos of America's working class. This approach solidified AACW's status as the industry's second-in-command.

image.jpeg.fcf2642da0df7647f8177c943d4c071c.jpegimage.jpeg.16b3ad01620d29f3629b6bf577bf04e3.jpeg

Oliver Brown and Tony Stretcher - the two pillars of AACW

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, no duo epitomized AACW's ethos more than Oliver Brown and Tony Stretcher. As AACW's marquee attractions, Brown embodied the gritty, no-nonsense brawler, while Stretcher portrayed the haughty, conniving villain with aplomb. Their chemistry and authenticity propelled them to the upper echelons of wrestling stardom, often rivaling the popularity of UFPW's biggest names.

Despite Brown and Stretcher's brilliance, AACW struggled to surpass UFPW's stranglehold on the industry. The onset of the "sports entertainment" era dealt a blow to AACW's traditionalist approach, causing a decline in popularity and mounting financial woes. Eventually, Bridger made the tough decision to relinquish control, selling AACW to none other than Oliver Brown himself.

Austin Berry & Brick Masters - the new breed that brought AACW back from the dead

Brown wasted no time in enlisting his old rival, Stretcher, as the chief architect of AACW's resurgence. Embracing the essence of classic wrestling while infusing it with contemporary flair, Brown and Stretcher ushered in a new era for AACW. They nurtured fresh talent like former national wrestling champion Austin Berry and the formidable Brick Masters, a former kickboxer and powerlifter. Under their guidance, AACW experienced a resurgence in popularity, reclaiming its mantle as the nation's second-preeminent wrestling promotion.

Global Entertainment Wrestling -  the true global behemoth

image.jpeg.70982d36a195b1b3bb0064d8918638e1.jpeg

Larry McMasters - A grizzled veteran trades in his tights for a business suit and becomes a global phenomenon

Larry McMasters wasn't just a master of the mat; he possessed an uncanny knack for understanding the pulse of wrestling fans. With this insight, McMasters launched Global Entertainment Wrestling in 1995, foreseeing a shift away from the then-popular "sports entertainment" formula towards something grittier and more nuanced.

Recognizing that the 1990s heralded a new era, McMasters tapped into the anti-authority sentiment of the times, birthing the iconic "GEW Attitude." Gone were the days of clear-cut heroes and villains; instead, fans craved shades of gray, rallying behind anti-heroes who bucked the rules. Embracing this ethos, GEW introduced edgier characters and adult-oriented storylines, complete with provocative themes and language.

Targeting the coveted 18-35 demographic, McMasters struck gold with his bold approach, catapulting GEW to the summit of the wrestling industry virtually overnight. As rivals like AACW floundered in their refusal to adapt, GEW dominated the scene with its revolutionary brand of entertainment.

Yet, as the new millennium dawned, McMasters understood the need to evolve once more. Gradually, the more explicit content made way for a renewed focus on intense, hard-hitting action. Matches became showcases of raw aggression, with bloodshed and brutality captivating audiences anew. The transition from "GEW Attitude" to "GEW Aggression" only deepened the fervor of fans, solidifying GEW's status as the nation's premier promotion.

Big Alpha, Chris Millennium, SoulTaker & Jimmy Hustle - the stars that formed the backbone of "GEW Aggression"

With an eye towards global expansion, GEW forged a groundbreaking partnership with streaming behemoth Pheasant, allowing its electrifying shows to reach wrestling aficionados worldwide. As GEW transcends borders, it cements its legacy as a true force in the world of wrestling, captivating audiences on a global scale.

All Out Action Pro Wrestling

image.jpeg.859da87007e9aab9d25daa9c609109af.jpeg

Gary "The Ace" Morrison - GEW's first home grown star takes a different path

In 2010, Gary Morrison, a former star of GEW, took the leap and founded All Out Action Wrestling, carving out a solid niche as the United States' third-largest wrestling promotion. Unlike the flashy, spectacle-driven approach of GEW, AOA distinguished itself with a commitment to gritty, high-octane action and a more grounded storytelling style.

Recognizing the pitfalls of imitation, Morrison opted for authenticity over emulation. AOA's behind-the-scenes glimpses, captured in reality TV style backstage promos and candid shots of wrestlers making their entrances, peeled back the curtain, offering fans a raw and immersive experience. Multiple camera angles further heightened the in-ring excitement, setting AOA apart in a crowded field.

"Superstar" Darren Starling & Evan Mysterious - Top guys who weren't supposed to be top guys

In a departure from the industry norm, AOA eschewed the temptation to recruit ex-GEW talent, instead scouring the independent circuit for diamonds in the rough. Stars like the resilient "Superstar" Darren Starling, who fought his way from the indies to the top, and the beloved underdog Evan Mysterious, who defied odds and shattered stereotypes, exemplified AOA's commitment to nurturing homegrown talent.

Thor & Tyr, The Old Gods - The most dominant tag team in the world

Among AOA's brightest success stories stand The Old Gods, a powerhouse tag team comprising Thor and Tyr. Their dominance in the ring, marked by ten championship reigns, solidified their status as legends within AOA and beyond.

AOA's winning formula of homegrown talent and innovative presentation has paid dividends, propelling the promotion to newfound heights of popularity and firmly securing its position as the nation's third-largest promotion. With momentum on their side, AOA sets its sights on shattering barriers and cementing its status as a premier destination in the wrestling world. The future looks bright as AOA aims to rise above the competition and claim its rightful place on the national stage.

Larry Townsend & Pete Knox - Sometimes wrestling is wrestling

Larry 'Submission Machine' Townsend and Pete Knox were the backbone of GEW, consistently delivering solid performances in the middle of the card. While they excelled in the ring, their lack of standout charisma prevented them from reaching the upper echelons of sports entertainment.

In 2010, after years of dedication, Townsend and Knox parted ways with GEW, disillusioned by promotions that undervalued in-ring talent. Determined to uphold the sanctity of wrestling as a legitimate sport, they founded Pure Grappling Alliance. At PGA, wrestling prowess reigns supreme, and performers are expected to excel in technical skill.

Matias Jansson, "The Bone Collector" Noburo Ukita, Tyler Barclay & Afu - Techincal excellence personified

Setting themselves apart from the competition, PGA implements a win/loss record system and a strict ranking protocol. Championship opportunities are reserved exclusively for those at the top of the rankings, ensuring meritocracy and fairness. A loss in a championship match results in a wrestler being reset to the bottom of the ladder, maintaining the integrity of competition.

This emphasis on sporting integrity, coupled with the weekly release of rankings, has resonated with traditional wrestling fans, propelling PGA to cult-like status in record time. As they garner attention and acclaim, the question looms: can PGA evolve into a national contender? Only time will tell.

New Horror Extreme Wrestling - The hardcore revolution will be televised

image.jpeg.173a1dc8302fe281ba061c02e8d7f2fa.jpeg

Douglas Dastardly - The king of controversy and the godfather of hardcore

If there's one word to sum up Douglas Dastardly, it's "controversy." He thrived on pushing boundaries and stirring up controversy for nearly two decades as the country's most provocative radio DJ. Dastardly staunchly championed freedom of speech, even if it meant courting outrage with his offensive content. And it paid off handsomely, as he amassed a fortune by broadcasting his brand of filth to the masses.

A wrestling aficionado at heart, Dastardly decided to channel some of his wealth into Philly All Star Wrestling, a small promotion in the Tri-State area. But instead of sticking to the traditional family-friendly wrestling format, he executed a complete overhaul, rebranding it as New Horror Extreme Wrestling.

Gone were the days of traditional wrestling; Dastardly ushered in a new era of hardcore mayhem, complete with blood, barbed wire, and unbridled violence. His shows became synonymous with no-holds-barred matches featuring weapons, tables, and plenty of carnage.

image.jpeg.64d76d89bcc1f2ac08449796f6a229c8.jpegimage.jpeg.9f33a80a02526e22cb3cff5b27f1c0c2.jpeg

"Crazy" Jimmy Munson & Murder-1 - One man's trash is another man's treasure

Despite being dismissed as a wild eccentric by his peers, Dastardly showcased an astute understanding of the wrestling business. He had a knack for taking unknown or unpopular talent and transforming them into main event stars. "Crazy" Jimmy Munson and Murder-1 are prime examples of Dastardly's talent for grooming talent.

image.jpeg.cd468c94acf542bbbde7533f17dc83d6.jpegimage.jpeg.901e0d215975b60a8e6739c6d40b3928.jpeg

Lilly Lemieux & Izzy Borden - It's a (wo)man's world

Never one to shy away from controversy, Dastardly broke new ground by allowing women to compete against men in hardcore matches, a taboo in the wrestling world at the time. He believed in gender equality in the ring and wanted to prove that women could be just as tough and hardcore as men. Wrestlers like Lilly Lemieux and Izzy Borden seized the opportunity, thrilling crowds with their hardcore exploits. Lemieux's historic win of the World Heavyweight Championship cemented her as a trailblazer in wrestling history.

New Horror continued to push boundaries, steadily gaining popularity year after year. Dastardly had created a cult phenomenon, but the question remained: could he elevate New Horror to national prominence? Only time would tell.

Bridget Davies & Lilly Beyer - Global media moguls & the most powerful women in the world

Bridget Davies and Lilly Beyer weren't just influential; they were the epitome of wealth and power. As the masterminds behind WTV, an on-demand streaming service, they revolutionized the television industry. Nine years ago, when WTV debuted, the concept of a streaming platform solely dedicated to women's programming was unheard of. While there were channels catering to female audiences, the idea of a subscription-based service with hundreds of hours of content exclusively for women seemed improbable. Yet, WTV defied expectations, now reaching homes in over 100 countries across various languages.

Their success with WTV inspired Davies and Beyer to broaden their horizons. Recognizing the appeal of professional wrestling, they delved into research, only to find that women's wrestling was often sidelined in mainstream promotions, reduced to mere sideshows. Determined to change the narrative, they envisioned a platform where women wrestlers were treated with the same respect as their male counterparts.

Thus, the International Women's Wrestling League was born. Rejecting the traditional norms, Davies and Beyer aimed for a promotion that transcended borders and championed gender equality.

Operated as five separate entities under the WTV umbrella, the IWWL spans North America, the UK, Japan, Europe, and Australia. Each region boasts its own champions, with one World Champion and one Tag Team Champion reigning over all five promotions. The interchange of talent and shared profits among the regions fosters a truly global wrestling community, where the best of the best compete on a world stage.

Through the IWWL, Davies and Beyer continue to break barriers and redefine what it means to be a champion, ensuring that gender equality and excellence in wrestling are not just aspirations but lived realities on screens worldwide.

I use light mode of the forum and part of your post is unreadable.

Glad you were still thinking about the mod. I thought most of the people on here would have forgotten about it. The post should be readable in light mode now. I've never viewed the forum in light mode before honestly. I didn't realize that made such a dramatic difference when reading posts.

Looks like an interesting mod. I am always a fan of seeing more fictional mods, so I will have to check this out later (preferably, when more regions are released since I usually do long saves as it stands).

Thanks, I hope I can complete more regions and you enjoy if it you check it out.

Yeesh, feel bad for Trevor fortune. Your top face dies and you top heel goes a forms a promotion that puts his outta business. Wonder if he'll try and revive ufpw with a new roster?

Actually, he's in still in the business. He owns East Coast Pro, a smaller company that focuses on younger talent. They have a few vets that are lifers but for the most part focus on workers under 30 specifically.

Game starts in 2016 then?

Haha, this is a mod I was working on way back when TEW2015 was out. I lost the data a few times and got irritated and gave up on it but I found an old file on an old hard drive and decided to pick it back up again. And as @lavelleuk said, it starts in 2020 now. Originally it was set to start in 2016 I believe.

Whoa, this looks great! Outside of building the world/mod, the direction you took with the graphics really sets this off. This speaks to my comic book heart and hooked on keeping tabs of this project. It's cool to see another fictional mod being curated and between your attention to detail in the diaries you've written down to the graphics you have produced, this willr0ck production is something to anticipate. Awesome stuff, looking forward to it.
