Obviously he wants it to be out as soon as possible so he can make money but I am sure he also doesn't want to rush out a bug ridden game either just to makes us all happy. I am sure it will be more than worth the wait since TPF was a kick butt game and his College BowlBound game was also very good.. Looking forward to it when it comes out. liontamer Posted December 7, 2009 Share Posted December 7, 2009 didn't know this was in the works, just found it during a google search. my best advice... look at a 90s game called total control football - it has a lot of examples of what to do and not do. I got this game when I was a kid and on paper it was way ahead of it's time. A lot of the features were only recently incorporated into the last few editions of madden and it's GM/career mode or whatever it's called now. It also has the smoothest interface of any sim game from it's time (and had graphics as well -could watch the games, don't recall if you could play them. was designed as a sim game so the graphics were ub par, but better than nothing) that I'm aware of and beter than most now and makes good use of sound which is rare in text game (i.e. you can actually speak to coaches and I think maybe even players, granted the options for conversation are limited). I greatly prefer the interface to that of BBCF. Also like the presentation of player profiles as I thought the presentation was unique and much more friendly on the eyes than looking at a spreadsheet (and this coming from a spreadsheet guy). I'd even consider looking at it for the next TEW as a possible alternate display format. What they did wrong... well or starters they didn't finish a lot of the features, I remember finding many bugs with the game where things either didn't work at all, or worked, but not in the way they were supposed to. furthermore the tech support stunk and I think they relased one patch (which only fixed a small portion of what was wrong) and then never addressed anything else. This is the reason the game died after one edition. So make sure you don't go over your head advertising things that aren't going to work in the final product. I've been looking for a goot pro footbal l sim again and if there's a place for me I'd like to help test and maybe even come up with trial interfaces and play any role I can in helping develop (only code I ever knew was turbo so I probably won't be much help there, although I could probably learn basic stuff quickly). Well since you asked.....I did not know you were on the Grey Dog payroll. Instead of attacking me, perhaps you should direct your energy or venom to the developers ...where are the updates? What is the status of this game? The development of this game was announced in early 2006...four years ago. Since then, there has been a dearth of updates. Also I never have said this place "sucked" those are your words. What I have said in the past is that it is unacceptable that customers have been led on. I may not post much but I am a customer. I've purchased Bowl Bound and the original TPF game released by the defunct .400 studios company. Why announce a game that is not going to be released???? Four years and no tangible updates, screenshots, specs whatsoever. Additionally to infer that for in order for me to have an opinion whether it be positive or negative I have to be a "regular" of these forums is poor customer marketing. Instead of attacking potential customers why not figure out what Grey Dog can do better to elicit better customer response. Calling me a "prick" does not achieve a positive objective whatsoever. I would have to assume that you must be very limited in your coping skills. Can you rebut my "poof....vaporware" remark? Is it acceptable the lack of updates for 4 years by Mr. Rahn? Whenever someone comes in here & asks what's up with this game & why the lack of updates, fanboys like you pull out your lightsabres & wanna duel to the death instead of letting people have their say. He is right when he says that it is unprofessional on Arlie's part to only give a couple updates in 4 years. I, for one can wait a little while longer but just want Arlie to keep us in the loop. Need to know if he's actually working on it yet. There have been many games that were announced then 10 years later, no game or update. I am talking about that joke of a game, Division Rivals. I know that things happen in life & that Arlie has to work a regular job also but he has a responsability to his custumers to update them every few months or so. Alright, Now don't cry but I think its probably time to move on and forget about BBPF. I wouldn't be holding my breathe. Seems to me you think about it even more than the developer. Me? A realistic salary system would also be great. Whatever you do, please make the game fun for the solo player, with realistic stats, etc. An in-game player creation feature and an in-game player editing feature would be great.
