It's a shame that the initials FPW are already taken, because I would have tried getting you to use my usual custom promotion: Freak Power Wrestling. It's based around casual violence as comedy, suicidal idiots with poor training jumping off of things, vague encouragement from the staff to the audience to try various mind-altering substances, the open condemnation of anyone politically to the right of Hunter S. Thompson, glorification of the homoerotic behavior common in pro wrestling and, surprisingly, a decent women's division. It's somewhere between being a wrestling equivalent to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and being what XPW wanted to be when it grew up. So instead I encourage you to add that exact promotion, but instead with the name Freaks On Parade, or FOP. :) I tend to base it in the Mid-Atlantic, but there's no particular reason it can't be somewhere else.

Great idea, and I'm really digging what you have so far. Still, if I may ask a few ultra-geeky questions and make a few comments... 1) I would seriously consider adding Norm Connors, promoter of the Pittsburgh Indy International Wrestling Cartel (IWC), to The Extreme. Despite being a big fan of the old ECW, Connors has stated in interviews that he feels modern "extreme" promotions "don't draw the line." His presence would make it certain that The Extreme doesn't drift off into "garbage-land," yet stays patently hardcore. It would also add Western Pennsylvania (and possibly Cleveland) to the touring schedule, which is always a good thing. Finally, Connors' addition would bring in talent that otherwise would have never even came near a promotion such as that, such as Prince Justice (Abyss), CM Punk, Pittsburgh wrestler Super Hentai, Alex Shelley, and The Midnight Express. 2) Will the "old" CZW (and if you go along with my suggestion, IWC) belts be active in The Extreme? A feud between CZW champion The Messiah and IWC champion CM Punk would be an awesome way to kick things off. 3) In a recent interview, Vampiro stated that Kevin Kleinrock has been talking to him about doing the Wrestling Society X "concept" (combining wrestling and alternative music) since 1988. A total collapse of the American wrestling scene would give them the perfect opportunity to push the project ahead. A post-collapse, 2002 version of WSX would probably feature a glut of disenfranchised XPW and UPW workers, with a few SoCal workers and luchadores hrown in for flavor. It would also give people who weren't that fond of Tommy Dreamer (*cough*Steve Corino*cough*) to "go extreme" one more time. And while Rob Black's "Extreme Associates" might have been involved, I would make their contribution be strictly a financial one. Don't let that degenerate "porno reject," if I may steal a phrase from Paul Heyman, anywhere near the in-ring product. 4) What is the state of the Japanese hardcore scene - FMW, Big Japan, and DDT? I have a feeling that a ton of hardcore/garbage workers who are unwilling to deal with either Dreamer/Zandig/Connors or Kleinrock/Vampiro would show up there. 5) In your time line, did Shin'ya Hashimoto form Zero-1, and if he did, how different is it to what it was in real life? Honestly, I'd to see a scenario where Hashimoto uses the "old" NWA membership that Antonio Inoki let him "borrow" as a way to strengthen ties with the "new" NWA. It would no doubt cause some major tension between the "young upstart" Hashimoto and the "established" Inoki, possibly causing a promotional war. 6) One word: Memphis. Memphis is the wrestling equivalent to a co ckroach - it just will not die. EDIT: It really makes me angry that I cannot say "co ckroach" without butchering the word.
I have no idea who that is, but I like your idea. The Extreme has gone through two owners since I've been fiddling with it. I want Dreamer as the head booker, but I'll consider Connors as the owner. Sounds like a good dimension to add to the game.
2) Will the "old" CZW (and if you go along with my suggestion, IWC) belts be active in The Extreme?
Nope. New fed, new titles.
3) In a recent interview, Vampiro stated that Kevin Kleinrock has been talking to him about doing the Wrestling Society X "concept" (combining wrestling and alternative music) since 1988. And in The Fall, Black and Lizzie are on hiatus after the closure of XPW, so they're nowhere near anything, hehe.
4) What is the state of the Japanese hardcore scene - FMW, Big Japan, and DDT? I have a feeling that a ton of hardcore/garbage workers who are unwilling to deal with either Dreamer/Zandig/Connors or Kleinrock/Vampiro would show up there.
Japan is strictly as it was in War's End - NJPW, AJPW and NOAH. I don't have the time nor the knowledge to add anything more, and I've found that Japan is pretty much ignored by 90% of players anyway. Aside from some extra U.S workers over there (Corino and Benoit are two such examples), nothing has changed.
6) One word: Memphis. Memphis is the wrestling equivalent to a co ckroach - it just will not die.
Hmmmmm.....
The first post of the thread has been updated with The Surpprrriissseee.....
I'm impressed!! I'm still trying to make one workable mod, and your already talking about a third!!! Great news too, pretty soon your going to be right there with Modern mods as well. Then we shall have three of the modern one's to pick from instead of two (So Far).
Well the surprise was disappointing. I was expecting something completely different. Still looking forward to “The Fall” though.
Hey, look! There's the needlessly negative post about an awesome feature to the mod! I knew it had to be coming along at some point. The surprise just might be my favorite part of the mod thus far. I dig the idea that you're giving us a great set up, and then just saying "have at it" before releasing a new-and-possibly-improved update. Your "Three Years Later" jump is also a very clever way of encouraging diaries to be done around your mod. I know that I'll definitely be in top form if there's a chance some of the stuff I'm doing will make it into the mod. Now I just need to start working out ways to make sure my favorites make it to the top.
Hey, look! There's the needlessly negative post about an awesome feature to the mod! I knew it had to be coming along at some point.
Hey, look! It was my opinion. I've had nothing but nice things to say about this mod. But this "jump into the future" surprise disappointed me.
That's cool, so for the first time in your history of posting - explain it. What kind of surprise wouldn't have you found disappointing?
You wouldn’t accept my kind gestures earlier. What makes me so sure you will now?
Ah, so you didn't find it disappointing, you're just a vengeful tool who got offended because somebody called him out.
No actually. I was quite disappointed. Sorry I offended you to the point where you had to start throwing out names, but I’m not going to gratify you with a response to your question. :)
Also, he still hasn't said what kind of surprise wouldn't have disappointed him.
And I don't plan to.
