  1. <p>You could potentially run your own house shows with this new "Event Intent" feature. Possibly a new way to try out matches between people, check tag teams out, etc. without the penalties. </p><p> </p><p> I feel like every version of TEW makes me say, "there is no way Adam can top this." Adam simply says, "hold my beer and watch." <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

There's nothing particularly bad about this method, but it did mean there was one annoying niggle in that the AI would have to "guess" who would have been used on the big AI-controlled shows and this was not always 100% accurate - it meant that occasionally smaller companies did not have access to talent that technically they should have. </p><p> </p><p> What happens in the new game is that the shows happen in size order, regardless of whether the company is controlled by a human or the AI. This means that the guesswork is removed, so if a bigger company does not utilise one of their roster then that worker is potentially available to work for a smaller company that night. As I said above, this is a really minor change and, honestly, I doubt if most people would have even noticed, but it does get rid of a small irritation and I wanted to flag it up so that people didn't mistakenly think that they could switch player order in PM mode too.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I wouldn't consider this minor if I understand it correctly. For example, if you are running a 'Small' MAW and you hire some of the same workers as NYCW, CZCW, etc. you'd never get to use those workers if you ran a show on the same night because the AI automatically takes them away from you. I always ran my show on a different night, but now it makes it more realistic. There is no reason for MAW to run a different night then CZCW or NYCW, considering they are in different regions and aren't competing with each other.</p>

The Handbook is extremely detailed in TEW2020 and also has the added advantage that it will automatically jump to the correct section - so if you're in the Finance section and hit the Handbook icon, you'll not only open the Handbook window but also immediately be looking at the section related to finances."</p><p> </p><p> I hope this is a subtle hint that finances are being expanded. In its current state, it barely needed its own section in the handbook. Its extremely self explanatory. 4. Literally knocked it out of the park Day One, Adam. This is a feature I have personally asked for and in my opinion, this is a HUGE upgrade and a major feature.

I am new here. I only discovered TEW a few weeks ago. Been losing a lot of sleep playing it. <p> </p><p> I play the 1987 mod since I love pro wrestling from Mania 1 to about the early 2000's. My main goal is to learn it back to front and teach it too my 11 year old autistic son. He is obsessed with pro wrestling and I think this is a great game for him to hyper-focus on that may have more positive benefits than WWE2k (add year). </p><p> </p><p> One request (not sure if its doable) is for merchandise. I'd love to have units involved in the custom section. For example "Units sold per month" "Units produced a month". As the units sold vary you can change production. As sales slow for a worker maybe click a sale option. If sales dry up have a donate to charity button, you take a hit but might increase popularity in the process. </p><p> </p><p> I know its far away from the core of the game, but like I said I'm only just learning.</p><p> </p><p> Cheers</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I've always wanted to see the financial system in TEW get a MAJOR overhaul. I'm truly hoping this is one of the big changes Adam talks about when he says he re-wrote the code to be able to add more features.</p>
  6. As I sit here, playing TEW2016, I jump on GDS to read this news. What an awesome Christmas surprise for this year and hopefully a gift for myself next Christmas!!
  7. Thank you for this!!! Excellent time period in wrestling.

  10. Does anyone else think that when you end a Broadcaster deal, it should be pro-rated? The closer you get to the deal expiring, the cheaper it should be to get out of it. I've always thought that anyway and it always frustrates me! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

  15. <p>Eric LaMonica enters wrestling in May 2016 after graduating from the 4C Combat Academy. Overdoes on hard drugs in November 2017 and June 2018. He's had only 7 matches in two years because of it. I'm honestly not sure how he's still alive.</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m521/Logan_Rodzen/lamonica_zps5syawbom.jpg</span></p>
  16. I decided to fire up TEW again while I have some time at home away from the road. I went with The Mod Squad's excellent WCW Lives mod set in May 2001. This was not only a really exciting time in wrestling when a lot of great matches were taking place around the world but a lot of young talent were starting to debut. People whose history has already been written, so we know what they're capable of. In that regard I've been signing a lot of guys to NWA: Wildside to hopefully bring in a youth movement within the next year to a very aging WCW roster. I was able to bring The Macho Man in to work mostly promo's and work an occasional match here and there. I'm using him very much like WWE used Undertaker (special attraction). I had to push the first PPV event back a few weeks in order for Booker T to be healthy enough to defend the World Heavyweight title. I don't like having the top champion off of a PPV, it doesn't feel right. I really like the tag team division WCW has going on: Mysterio / Kidman, Jindrak / Stasiak, Brian Adams / Bryan Clark (when they come back from injury), Palumbo / O'Haire, Eli Skipper / Kid Romeo, Big Vito / Johnny the Bull and Lance Storm / Chris Candido. Storm and Candido just recently won the titles from Palumbo and O'Haire at WCW The Big Bang. Buff Bagwell won the vacant (I vacated it as Booker T was champion) United States championship in the finals of a tournament against Hugh Morrus. Chavo Guerrero Jr. beat Shane Helms for the Cruiserwieght title. Booker T retained his championship against Scott Steiner. I'm trying to use Sting, Flair, and Nash as guys who are bringing up younger workers. I've been booking a lot of tag matches and 3v3 matches. Nitro is being ran live on Tuesday's unopposed to any WWF programming. We have coverage in every area besides Canada for TV and Events. I lost $98k in May but I think it was because I was still trying to figure out the roster (which I made cuts to) and our production values were a bit high for a Cult promotion. We should see a small gain in June and every month from now on.
  17. <p>Ric Flair on his Podcast:</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> "If I'm looking at what's going to draw money, what I would pay to see, I would pay to see Dolph against Ambrose before I'd pay to see Finn Bálor against Seth Rollins, so I think it's phenomenal. I think Finn Bálor is great too. I just think you've got a legitimate heavyweight in Seth Rollins, a legitimate heavyweight in Roman Reigns, and I don't think we'll ever see the day, and I could be totally wrong, that a cruiserweight will ever main event a WrestleMania. And that's what you have to look at, I think, in the total picture of the [professional wrestling] business." Flair added, "he's of that [cruiserweight] size. I mean, if you look at the two of them side by side, he [has] got a great physique, gosh, but he's smaller. Yeah, I don't think he weighs 200 pounds."</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I wonder if he remembers Daniel Bryan winning the title? Or Rey Mysterio? Nothing against Flair, but he's terribly wrong. I'm not a huge Balor fan, but he's talented and the size restriction doesn't exist anymore.</p>
  18. I think this is the best route to go. They could even go The Rocky Maivia way. It was obvious Reigns was supposed to be the top babyface and take Cena's throne. That's blundered and Reigns knows the fans don't buy it. They were supposed to love me, but they don't? I think his newly grown out beard gives him more of a heel look too. A heel Reigns I could actually get behind. WWE won't go that direction though. Rollins is their top heel on RAW, so they don't need Reigns to do it too. The Balor / Rollins match should be a good one. The Owens/Zayn match from Battleground stole the show, tore the roof off the place, and was by far the best story-driven match (within the actual wrestling) WWE has done in quite some time, outside of 'Mania. If you don't buy the story that those guys have known each other since they were younger, just watch how they work together in the ring. I felt more moved watching them work together than I do watching a Jeff / Matt Hardy match and those guys are actual brothers.
  19. <p><strong>Growth of the American Wrestling Federation; the Mid Atlantic Wrestling Success Story</strong></p><p> <em><span style="font-size:8px;">January 1st, 2023</span></em></p><p> </p><p> Mid Atlantic Wrestling ran their first show 17 years ago. The Mean Machine would go on to capture the very first Mid Atlantic Championship in a four-way match against Mainstream Hernandez, Steven Parker, and Erik Strong. Those three men made MAW the promotion to watch and the promotion to work for. Exciting wrestling every single month from start to finish. The Naturals (team of D.C. Rayne and Eddie Howard) would capture the Mid Atlantic Tag Team titles from The Canadien Blondes (Oscar Golden and Flash Savage) in what would become a storied rivalry. </p><p> </p><p> Rip Chord wanted to help the wrestling world, after all, it did make him famous. He’s stated before that he felt he took it all for granted until it was too late. He threw his money into the company in October 2005 and after signing the roster he wanted, hashing out the details, The Night Of The Champions was born. In 5 short days, MAW will produce the same show that started it all, this time it will be available to the masses. </p><p> </p><p> Jean Cattley (known as The Mean Machine) was the primary head booker from December 2005 until August 2009. Rip Chord wanted Cattley to focus entirely on wrestling and helping the other workers with their matches specifically, no longer running the day-to-day operations. Chord was vacationing in the summer of 2009 when he met Logan Rodzen in Maine. </p><p> </p><p> Chord stayed in Old Orchard Beach for two weeks. He turned heads when he made an appearance at a local independent show being ran as a fundraiser at the high school. He was there as a fan and purely for fun. Two years after retiring from the ring, he wanted to get back to his roots and have that small show feel. </p><p> </p><p> He signed autographs outside when he arrived and did so throughout the show. He was impressed with the wrestling he saw, so much that he talked with the promoter after the show: Rodzen (who was only two years out of high school). Rodzen moved to North Carolina to learn under Chord. He was given responsibility of coordinating MAW events and being the direct line of communication between Rip and the wrestlers. </p><p> </p><p> It took two years for Rodzen to be given the ‘Head Booker’ position of Mid Atlantic Wrestling, although he had done the role for the past two years under the direct supervision of Rip Chord. Chord was impressed with Rodzen’s knowledge of the wrestling industry and his ability to easily communicate with each and every worker. A skill very much needed in the wrestling world, a skill many people lack. </p><p> </p><p> In 2011 Sam Keith was entrusted with continuing MAW’s mission of building stars for the future. The sole purpose that they become solid in-ring performers who will help and not hinder the wrestling industry for years to come. Rodzen continued on as head booker of the company. Keith would take a similar role as Rip Chord, attending each event and providing advice to the workers in a road agent capacity. Both veterans loved this role and took great pride in helping the younger workers detail out their matches. </p><p> </p><p> By 2014, Mid Atlantic Wrestling had produced a slew of talent for the bigger promotions throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The next wave of MAW was just beginning to take shape and get ready to move on in 2016: Greg Gauge, Roderick Remus, Ernest Youngman, Tennessee William, and many others. By 2017, MAW was able to secure a deal with East Coast Today to show their monthly events. The promotion bought Freedom Caribbean Wrestling in 2018 after the company suffered a year of revenue losses. With the instant growth in the region, MAW was able to secure TV Puerto Rico to also show their monthly events. </p><p> </p><p> In 2020, MAW made the biggest splash in the wrestling world by securing a full PPV deal with MySelect USA to show their monthly events. With all of this change came a new name: American Wrestling Federation. AWF WarZone was created to replace MAW Incoming and made the jump to National Pride TV in 2019. After two years of incredible growth, AWF secured a deal with Arcadia in 2021.</p><p> </p><p> Throughout this ‘boom’ period for AWF, they received four consecutive ‘Most Improved Company’ awards from 2018 to 2021. The feud throughout 2020 between Spencer Spade and Nick Booth was the hottest in American wrestling, many journalists speculated that they would be awarded Match Of The Year for their 60-minute Iron Man match at The Sam Keith Tag Team Classic X. It eventually went to the hottest company on the planet: SOTBPW – El Leon and Blood Raven’s time limit draw. </p><p> </p><p> Sam Keith, who had been the backbone of this company for ten years, tragically passed away in September 2020 in a traffic accident at the age of 58. Rodzen took over the American Wrestling Federation after being appoitnted CEO and continued his booking duties. The locker room felt the loss of Keith for over a year. It was a difficult time period for everyone backstage. Greg Gauge would come back to the company in June 2021, full-time on a written deal after four years in Mexico in powerhouse SOTBPW. </p><p> </p><p> The year 2022 would open the doors for exponential growth. Channel Six allowed AWF to gain viewership in Canada and the British Isles by showing AWF Warzone alongside Arcadia. USA Free Choice took AWF on for monthly PPV’s and have allowed AWF to cash-in on big time revenue they were losing out on with MySelect USA. Canada 1-Choice jumped at the chance to show monthly PPV’s after seeing the success of AWF Warzone on Channel Six throughout Canada. </p><p> </p><p> CommPlanet was introduced earlier in the year and was a heavily promoted subscription network that hoped to compete with Allan Packer’s Reverie Network, which primarily promotes United States Pro Wrestling. AWF approached CommPlanet to show their special events that are ran sporadically throughout the year on popular holidays: New Years, St. Patrick’s Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. </p><p> </p><p> This National-sized company has grown to become one of the most competitive organizations in terms of marketing, production, and merchandise. They’ve competed on a quality standpoint for many, many years with some of the best promotions in the world, but they’ve never been able to attract the fan base that the product truly deserved.</p><p> </p><p> The American Wrestling Federation would take home the award for Best Company in 2022. After three years of rapid growth and showing the wrestling industry that they were the most improved, they've now become the most watched and best produced wrestling organization in the world. Up and onward!</p>

  21. <p>I was hoping for some help from those who have made the jump from Regional to Cult to National:</p><p> </p><p> We have deals with Arcadia to run a weekly TV show, U-Demand to show PPV, and NCTV to show Free-To-Air specials (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.). On average for the past six months we've made $750,000/mo profit. We have just about $10 million in the bank. Several top stars. We're able to contend with the bigger promotions on some workers when bidding wars start. We could ideally win them all if I wanted to go on a spending spree.</p><p> </p><p> When I look at the National Battles screen it worries me though. SOTBPW has a massive lead with drawing power of 4,598, SWF has 3,988 and USPW with 3,912. If we were eligible we'd be in last place with 3,677. We need 3pts in one area (two areas have 62) to get the 8 regions in the USA to make the jump. I have us locked at Cult for now though. I wouldn't ideally make the jump until we've grown quite a few points above the threshold for National.</p><p> </p><p> I haven't done this in TEW16 yet and I wanted to know if anyone has. Are my finances going to go crazy? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> When I made the jump to Cult, we were fairly established in four regions (unlike the minimum two) but we still lost money for about three months until we made enough to keep up with the expenses. We didn't lose a ton of money those months either. It fixed itself in that regard.</p>
  22. One of my favorite new workers in the CVerse is 'Dynamic' Dylan Drama. He's English and available all over the world. I didn't notice him until April 2019 (he debuted in February 2017). A week after I hire him, he jobs to Curtis Jenkins at SNP Hardcore War, doesn't get paid by scumbag Mark Carnie and walks out. He only works for Mid Atlantic Wrestling. Three months later in July 2019, he relocates to the Mid Atlantic region. Love it! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  23. This is a really fun time period to play with. Looking forward to it!
  24. Mid Atlantic Wrestling - February 2008 (CV2005 Data) I've poisoned a portion of my locker room. I had to go and try out the 'dirty doctor' feature in this save to see what happens. Some of my favorite workers are on the juice and I'm worried its going to have deathly consequences. I had to do some research and look at my workers in the editor. American Patriot (my go-to top face of MAW) is at 40% steroid use. Findlay O'Farraday at 25% and Casey Valentine at 30%. Now, the one that scares the absolute crap out of me and I'm legitimately fearing for his life: Steven Parker (90%). All of these guys have improved hand over fist. Valentine has jumped up 6+ points in almost all major categories since April of 2007 (when he debuted). Has anyone done the same thing? Can I right this terrible wrong?
