  1. Haven't played a touring company yet in 2020, but if you have a broadcast deal for events, can't you just select NJPW World when the game asks you to select a broadcaster for the touring show?

Stick to the Freeform angle and don't look back.<p> </p><p> 2) Here is a breakdown of what all the things represent to the best of my knowledge:</p><p> </p><p> Overness is just popping for the name. When Stone Cold's music played and the crowd goes nuts, that is rating on Overness. It's great for when a worker just appears for the classic "stare down", it's great for a hype or highlight reel. It is being rated on their "name value"</p><p> </p><p> Entertainment is them cutting a promo. Talking about something in general.</p><p> </p><p> Fighting is a good brawl. All those "backstage ambush" should be rated on Fighting if it's an even fight. Fighting means they're getting some good punches in.</p><p> </p><p> Microphone is one I use rarely but in theory it's a segment where it is just their mic skills. No body language, no charisma to pump up the crowd. I have seen this used for "interview" segments where one person is just holding the mic and asking questions.</p><p> </p><p> Charisma is where there isn't a mic involved. When a worker showboats inside the ring up on the turnbuckles but nobody can hear what they are saying but just getting swept up in their passion that is raw Charisma.</p><p> </p><p> Acting is another one I rarely use. I would imagine it's for things like faking an injury. All angles are "acting" but this is specifically selling something outside of the ring. Fake injuries, fake crying, that kind of stuff. If a worker has to act sad because their fake girlfriend dumped them, that's acting. If Vince McMahon has to fake a foot injury, that's acting (until Stone Cold beats him over the head with a bedpan and then it's selling).</p><p> </p><p> Selling is getting smashed. If a worker is just getting destroyed, that's selling.</p><p> </p><p> Star Quality is the male version of sex appeal. I rarely use it because it doesn't come up much but if they're just looking at a picture of a guy and saying "wow! he looks amazing!" I could see it. If a guy goes into the middle and flexes his muscles, that's SQ. The difference I think is Charisma is about engaging the crowd and firing the crowd up while Star Quality is just "look at me!"</p><p> </p><p> Sex Appeal: Duh. Looking sexy.</p><p> </p><p> Menace: Looking mean. For a "backstage ambush" if it's an even fight, everyone is Fighting. If it's a classic "Monster Destroy" then it is Menace vs. Selling. Menace is also looking mean next to someone doing the talking.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This is a very good post and I'd like to add some of my thoughts here.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Selling</strong> is not just getting beaten down. In essence, selling is about convincing people that you're hurt/injured, isn't it?. So, things like favouring one leg, holding your back, clutching your shoulder, your neck or whatever other part of your body. That's all part of selling, too.</p><p> </p><p> I disagree that <strong>Star Quality</strong> is the male version of sex appeal. In the default databse there are quite a few male workers with really high sex appeal: Champagne Lover, Sammy Bach, Wolf Hawkins, Rock God Alvarez, Nicky Champion for example. So, you can rate men on Sex Appeal, too.</p><p> I haven't been able to really wrap my head around when to rate someone on Star Quality. So far I could only think of when "The Narcissist" Lex Luger debuted in the WWF. It was all about him looking like a star. </p><p> Genuinely curious in what situations other players rate someone on star quality.</p><p> </p><p> As for <strong>fighting</strong>, so far I've always used it when someone is physically attacking another worker or fighting back another worker, not only for even fights. The monster beatdown that you mentioned, I'd rate the "monster" on fighting and the victim on selling. Am I doing this wrong?</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Acting</strong> is something I've always struggled with because sometimes it's really tough to distinguish between acting, entertainment or selling. Someone faking an injury would be selling in a pro wrestling context, wouldn't it? Is it safe to say that whenever there's an angle that looks like it could be something out of a movie or a television series, you should rate in on acting?</p>
  4. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Vocalite" data-cite="Vocalite" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47568" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>What do the "ranges" between the skills mean? For instance, a guy whom I wanted to use for a Steal The Show match had 53-83 stamina which was apparently too low for even a 14 min match. How exactly do I read the stats then? Is it an actual range of performance? Should I read from the middle? Should I be going with the lowest score first? It seems to be really vague and hard to understand.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That's the feature called "scouting", or "fog of war", as it was called in 2016. The idea is that you don't get to know the worker's exact stats until you've seen him wrestle often enough. So a rookie starting out has a wider skill range than a 30-year veteran. </p><p> To use your example, the wrestler's exact stamina is anywhere between 53 and 83. Since he got tired in a 14-min all-out match, you might have found a clue that his stamina is probably closer to 53 than it is to 83.</p><p> You can turn off scouting in your user preferences, if you like. You'll then see exact numbers.</p>
  5. Yeah, unfortunately from what I've seen and read, the default angle file and the angle file in the mod you're playing haven't been updated to reflect the changes to angles in 2020. Try using freestyle angles and rate them on what makes sense for the angle you have in mind. Check out the little question mark that leads you the angle section of the handbook. It tells you there what each "rated on" category means and how long you can run your angles for.
  6. If someone takes a stunt bump, shouldn't you rate them on selling, though? And the attacker on fighting? That would get rid of the penalty and make sense in the context of that angle.

I'm all for a search filter like you proposed.</p>

I just checked as I am booking my next show. That seems weird? Worthwhile suggesting it? We can after all check if a worker is up for it.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Sorry, my answer was a bit short. What I meant was you're not supposed to be able pre-book stunt bumps and crazy bumps. The handbook states that because these notes are specific to a particular show, they have to be added on the night of the show.</p><p> </p><p> So, while a suggestion is never a bad idea, I think it might not have the best chances of success. But it's worth a shot, I guess.</p>

Has this disappeared?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You can't pre-book stunt or crazy bumps.</p>
  10. Yeah, look at workers on your roster who have similar popularity and close to neutral momentum. That should give you an idea on where the potential new worker would end up.
  11. It would also be nice to have the patches available for download without having to log in to the forums. Everyone who bought the game should have a right to access patches and technical support, even if they're not registered on the forums.
  12. Probably all the products where wrestling is more important than entertainment. My question: It says that popularity gains are partly dependent on whether the product is trending or not. In 2016, you could see current trends on the product screen, but isn't there in 2020. I can't for the life of me find out where that information is located.
  13. Patch 1.01 Wasn't sure whether to put this into the suggestions forum or tech support, but I think this may not be working as intended, so I decided to put it here. I pre-booked a freestyle angle for my TV show one day in advance so that it would count. During the pm phase I added said angle from the pre-booking screen, but decided that I wanted to add more workers to it. I didn't remove any of the workers that I had pre-booked, I only added workers. The game then told me that I was going to be penalised for not delivering the pre-booked segment and it did in fact lower my final rating for the show because of it. I wasn't able to delete the pre-booking either because I was already in the pm phase. In my opinion this is not how it should be. I basically announced that certain workers would be appearing on the show and the audience shouldn't care whether more workers will be added or not. I can understand that it works that way with matches, but as long as I deliver on my promise that certain workers will appear in angles, I shouldn't be penalised for adding even more workers.
  14. Yeah, the game is overwhelming at first, so I get where you're coming from. Here's what I do when I start a new save game, even after many years of playing TEW: On the first day of the save game, I go to my office and click every single button there is and on the respective screens I check out everything there is to check out. If and when I find something that I feel needs to be taken care of, I'll either take care of it immediately or take a note to take care of it in the not-so-distant future. For example, I might find out that my roster is heavily balanced towards babyfaces, I'll check what babyfaces I'm gonna turn to balance out the roster. Or I might find out that there aren't enough tag teams on the roster for a solid tag team division, so I'll look to either hire some more tag teams or try to find wrestlers who already are on my roster to make a team. Once you've gone through all the screens you have gotten to know your promotion and have found out what to do and when to do it (if that makes sense). My first day is always a lot of looking, reading and taking notes and it always takes a while before i advance a day. But by doing this, you save a lot of time in the future because you've organized yourself. And once you've done this, you can start enjoying your save game and you'll find it easier to know what to do each turn. Hopefully, this can help you a little bit.
  15. I think the game considers any match that involves at least one star or major star an important match, so you have to adjust the match length to avoid the penalty.
  16. Your description sounds exactly what the round robin tournament does or am I missing something? 10 spots might not be enough for a year-long league, but the system is already there, isn't it?

There's a drop down menu right under the wrestlers's picture. Change it to unit, permanent unit or individuals and then click save.</p>

I believe you can't pre-book crazy bumps or stunt bumps.</p>
  19. Awesome, thanks for the reply. I should probably know this by now, having bought the previous three editions of the series. On the other hand, you only buy the game once every three or four years, so...
  20. So, to make sure, if I have the beta installed, I should use the demo to retail upgrade, right? Thank you to the whole team that worked on this game for the last ~18 months and the last few weeks, I'm sure these were the hardest ones to get through.
  21. I guess you could use the mid-show booking feature for that. You book the show and have Dude Love wrestle his match. Then you go back to the booking screen, change his alter ego to Mankind, book his match and voilà, Foley has wrestled twice under different alter egos. I haven't actually tested it, so I can't say for sure if it'll work, but in theory it should.
  22. I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but contract templates can help you out here.
  23. I'm a heavy user of diary alerts in the game and I noticed that the game puts the white "read" diary symbol as soon as you enter and leave the alerts section, even if you still have alerts active for that day. I'd like the golden "unread" symbol to remain until all the alerts for that day have been deleted.
  24. On the workers screen (and ideally on the company roster screen, too), I'd like to be able to search by the most recent Power 500 ranking. Either as a simple "ranked in Power 500: Any/Yes/No" filter or even better as a filter for min. and max. rankings, similar to how you can search for popularity or skills.
