‘DBF’ Daniel Black Francis [vs] Loxley Robbins w/ Blake Belushi and The Brat Pack

Gorilla Lee & JK Lee w/ Andrew Lee [vs] Edison Silva & Kelvin Badberry

‘The Immovable Object’ Brickhouse Balder [vs] War Machine w/ Cliff King

Wade Orson [vs] ‘The Most Dangerous Man In Britain’ Bedlam

I'd say that last episode is my favourite yet, at first I started reading thinking hmm I must prefer Kingdom but by the end I'm torn.

It's funny because obviously your writing is ahead of your posting so it's pure coincidence but I'd say after comments regarding main eventers that Matravers/Faust were the stars (other than maybe the Muckletruck segment.) So confirms that really the top stars just need time.

    Caught up!

So cool how you’ve retained elements of the RAW diary, like building out the “world” (or island) with different locations which adds to the idea that the wrestlers are in the community (and therefore makes sense they want to be champ of the island etc.)— but you’ve got different and unique renders. Awesome.

I’m really enjoying the Joffy/Newton alliance, the downfall of HOH, and intrigued who Mutant’s ultimate rival will be… I’m sensing a heel turn as he goes full arrogant so my bet is on Xavi. The Harlem Knights turn was a full on heel-heel turn I wasn’t expecting! Bold!

Also, did IBA legit break his jaw…?

    (p.s. bring in a women’s division…)

Yes I've enjoyed slowly following along with you catching up via the likes. Appreciate you taking the time to get fully caught up! Hopefully perfect timing just prior to the first event of the TV era.

Interesting points...  Regarding the locations I feel like it's something I want to lean into more as we go further. Initially my thought was FCW is pretty traditional and I imagine it's presentation fairly bare bones but with TV now I'm shifting that a little. For RAW all these sets made sense to me as it's a big national promotion owned by a TV company, so I wasn't sure whether it would feel right for FCW but in my mind this is more 'lets film an angle on your phone because it's cheap and easy'.

I want go into Mutant plans but I could see him Vs Xavi as a future main event feud for sure...

If I'm honest the Harlem Knights l comment is perhaps more of a sign that I've overlooked them a little. They have actually always been heel in game but I admit that a) they were treated/acted a bit like faces when they won the titles and b) the pizza parlour attack was a big step up in heelness. They were definitely on my list of people who I'm hoping the extra promo/angle time with TV will benefit.

IBA, short answer no. As perfect as that would have been with Bradford's finisher.

Women's division I do keep considering. I've kept signing to a bare minimum on purpose but slowly I've chipped away at roster. That might speed up now with me forced to let go of anyone on too much money. So they'll definitely be space on the card for signings that will work for cheap. I just wouldn't want to bring in a couple and call it done, i think there's room for another title but I'd only do WD if I feel I could do it well.

Not decided that those signings will be a women's division, but if so do you @Rhysrob or anyone else have any suggestions? Male or female actually. If they'll work in Puerto Rico for cheap, especially if they live in or close to us to save on travel costs there's a good chance I'll seriously consider them.

I've rambled on... Show predictions up tomorrow.

I enjoyed getting caught up. The TV show is doing a good job fleshing out characters: I really liked the Mutant and pizza parlour parts of the latest show. The financial damage makes for an interesting subplot with the contrast between how cleanly everything's been booked so far and how messy those restrictions might make things.

I thought it was the right call to have at least one of the guys fail their race to 10 and the way it was paid off fit perfectly, while it's impressive how smoothly you pivoted the People's Championship vacation by adding title implications to the two Choked Out matches that weren't title-related.

As always I appreciate your comments so it's great to see you back. Hopefully this also means DIW 2024 is incoming?

But yes as long as the financial troubles don't bankrupt us then I think it might actually improve the general feel. I set goals early on and I suppose it's a little boring if I accomplish them all without any hardships. It's definitely caused me to have to rethink whole 3-6 month long plans but I normally find that the Plan A rarely ends up the best anyway. Case in point the initial plan was for both Brody and Kip to get to 10, leading to a triple threat, but obviously that's going a different way now so it's good to see your thoughts on that.

Choked Out! up next. Although might be another world update or something along those lines first.

  5. Showcase

Survival of the Fittest in AboardTheArk's CGC

I commented in more detail on the thread itself why I enjoyed this show, but in general a top show in a top diary that I'd 100% recommend.

    C-verse

    QAW Amazons

It's been great to see this return and it's straight away at the top of it's game, it's one of those diaries that completely defines a promotion for me in game.

Will be adding more as month goes on I imagine but didn't want to forget stuff that happened early in month.

  6. Lance ‘The Body’ Martin w/ Kelly Martin [vs] Mass Hulk w/ Mark Adonis

‘Captain Crash’ Cain Carlisle [vs] Phillip ‘Cooper Man’ Cooper

    Vinny Vigilante [vs] Apollo Prince

Nate Manchester and Assassin [vs] The Demolishers (Compton Valence and Langton Herring)

‘Perfection’ Kelly Martin w/ Lance Martin [vs] ‘God’s Gift to Wrestling’ Mark Adonis w/ Mass Hulk

‘The Rock ‘N’ Roller’ Sebastian Koller [vs] J-B Cash

Just a couple of extra questions if you could take the time for me :)

Favourite act in the company so far: It's tough to pick a single person really, I am impressed how quickly you've gotten a big roster to feel unique, having this many clearly defined unique characters this early on is great. A couple of surprise hits for me have been DJ/Dangermouth and Leigh Burton.

Act you're not bothered about so far: It's not a thought I'd have had, but actually Willsky's point rings true for me. It's very early to have too much of an opinion but I'd say a weird criticism, if you could even call it that, is there's so many interesting people lower down the card, that they could be overshadowing some of the top stars (Orson, Matravers, Martinez for example). That might just be the nature of the roster where you have more obvious gimmicks lower down the card that stand out even after 1 or 2 shows where it takes time to care about the more serious stars higher up the card.

Also Matravers/Faust/E.Cornell have only had 1 show so I think it would be fairer to ask again in a month (game time) or so.

Although speaking of Orson/Martinez... my prediction which is admittedly probably as farfetched as Jones defeating Cornell was is as follows...

Kathleen Lee turns on Buff, swaps to Wade, whilst it's also revealed that his full name is Wade Lee Orson (or they get married and he takes her name)... They then head up the Lee FamiLee. At first my gut was that Kathleen would never join them but I also feel like Emmett Askey sticks out in that group for obvious name related reasons and so his days must be numbered.

This was definitely more representative of what "normal" TV is going to be and...it was damn good! The Carlos interview was particularly super strong, and the Keenan swerve is just solid, delightful wrestling television.

Thank you, I think you're right and episode 3 above is in a similar vain, less marquee matches or big storyline developments but hopefully it will mean the PPVs are built to well and slowly the characters feel more fleshed out. I'm hoping to keep up a decent pace on the weekly shows just so it doesn't feel like the general pace of the storylines slow down to much in real time. So the TV shows might feel a little short sometimes but I think that's a good trade off to keep the in game months ticking a long at a good enough pace.

Will post an updated prediction score list soon. I'm still pretty scared what will happen in game. FCW start with I think 50k and after being careful I began August with around 40k. I now begin September with just 5... so something has to give.

Could I get your thoughts on the red text guys. Looks a little bright against the dark grey background I use... I could dim it and make it this or even this instead of this! but would love to hear your thoughts.

It didn't bother me at all (and I use the dark background too) but out of those I maybe find the middle one most readable.

  12. What a show, really good length, each match was well written but unique on the card. Whippy's win is big for him without hurting Zeus, Storm has Stormed onto the scene (sorry), Atherton came out looking like a star (and with the awesome grade), Golden Elite (if not necessarily the blondes themselves) looking strong, enjoyed the big bad brawl and again both men came out looking good and then main event was fantastic. Always sad to see Garg lose, but at least he wasn't pinned and Ian having to resort to a true desperation tactic with the punt kick on the ref was a nice touch for him going forward.

    Freedom Fighters 2

Brody's Final Match in the quest to 10: Giant Brody vs ???

Winners face Harlem Knights for the FCW Tag Team Titles: Ox & Ace vs Relentless vs Joffy Laine and Davis Wayne Newton

Lee Bambino continues the hard hitting interviews he wants to be known for, but being the amateur he is requires your help. Do the fans have any questions for Carlos Gonzalez ahead of his clash with Marco?

    Freedom Fighters 3

Mutant & Kip Keenan vs Relentless

Young & Wasted vs Batch Enterprises (Tex Tegan & Martyr)

This time it will be the FCW Puerto Rican Champion, Mutant, in Lee Bambino's hot seat. What would you like to see asked of your reining champion?

I felt like asking people to comment just for two predictions isn't ideal so I'll group them into two going forward.

Although as an update, the financial tail spin is proving difficult to control... Perhaps instead of fan predictions it should just be a plea for donations. Strict cost cutting measures are incoming though so keep your fingers crossed for the company. I'm still salty at that $70 figure.

  15. Chris Alpha vs. Mike O'Reilly

Leo King vs. Mikel de Sota
    Backbreaker Simpson vs. Kenny Maynard
    Angus McCloud vs. William Riley

Strong start to the season. I am just always impressed that PWL had, I feel, the best written detailed matches I've seen on here and so whilst I often prefer shorter write ups myself I wasn't sure how this format would translate over to much shorter write ups but it's done so well. The score system obviously helps but then to keep it from feeling repetitive through the amount of shows/matches is an achievement. Not saying anything of real note here! I'm just a fan!

  16. Thank you all! The first show was always bound to be a little extra stacked. Going forward I'm still working out how these shows will be used.

Way I see it there's 4 purposes they could serve...

    A) Building towards the next monthly (or so) event.

    B) Advancing storylines

    C) Giving time to build up main characters

    D) Shining spotlight on the wrestlers who would otherwise rarely appear on the big events

Some of this might sound obvious, but after focusing on TV only RAW for so long, and then Event only FCW. I'm not really used to the mixture and getting that sweet spot between the Events standing out but the weekly shows being worth the read is something I'll have to experiment with. Likelihood is that the purpose will sway from one week to the next. Which might make them seem a little inconsistent, but hopefully a fun ride.

Whilst all FCW news has been positive there's now a big dose of reality to balance it out. Unless I'm missing something, from that last show... I received from TV-PR... $70. Now I understand it's on the graveyard slot, I understand it's only shown in Puerto Rico which I imagine is one of the smallest zones in the world (if not the smallest perhaps?) and I understand because we've only just got the pop to be on it we had to take a deal giving us only 20% of the revenue... but still. $70!!!!  It's not even like TV-PR is a tiny broadcaster either.

My entire game plan has been around doing whatever was needed to get on TV-PR real quick. Now for events that is all good and safe, and I thought I was being conservative by taping 2 weeks TV in one go to save money, but obviously not enough as with the increased costs with the TV show we will not last long getting !!$70!! per show.

But PRP is stubborn, he will not change his course flippantly. He wanted a weekly show broadcasted to every home on the island and he hates the idea of wrestleworld. But that will likely mean cuts are needed, most talent on the roster are paid peanuts. The Puerto Rican Champion is paid $30 a show! But then there are some greedy greedy souls who are being paid literally 50 times that much and so I have some important decisions to make...
