  1. I thought Cody and Omega were the best names? Sure seem that way last year according to the inter webs...
  2. Problem is Jericho don’t have that much name value in a world where there aren’t any wrestling stars...He haven’t been in the title picture for WWE in a long time. No one is looking for Chris other than hardcore fans. I feel like the lack luster PPV, failure to convince CM Punk to come play and more of the status quo stopped some of the AEW excitement going into the TV show for October... In TEW terms, the show grade would be ok but didn’t gain any new fans or popularity.
  3. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TheGhost" data-cite="TheGhost" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46243" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I second this!. This is the 3rd time now I have had to wake up the next morning and finish the show. <p> </p><p> Four hours is too much, including the buy in pre show thats five hours.</p><p> </p><p> They need to really get a handle on timing and realize that their lower card hardcore guys dont need an almost 20 minute match. </p><p> </p><p> Darby/Havoc/Janella should have gotten 10 mins. tops.</p><p> </p><p> Hopefully they realize that only the big marquee matches need to go over 15 minutes. </p><p> </p><p> With that said, it was a solid show, and I've already seen people shitting on Jericho as champion. </p><p> </p><p> People don't realize that Jericho was the best option right now heading into weekly TV. People know who Jericho is, not everyone knows who Hangman is, if Hangman showed up on the first episode of AEW with the belt no one would care, Jericho is the one that will catch the eyeballs of old wrestling fans who haven't watched in a while.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> That’s the funny part in this thing is AEW wants to be anti WWE so bad but ultimately is doing exactly what WWE would have done. AEW dropped the ball on building hangman up leading to this match. Jericho was supposed to put this new face over. Sadly, no one will care about Jericho as champ either...They should have just put the belt on Omega if the intention wasn’t to make a new face of wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> As much as I like Jericho, he’s not going to get people to tune in no more than Hangman would have. I wouldn’t even be mad if Cody was champ. Instead we get a old “out of shape part timer”</p>
  4. Thanks Also, will we still have the option to give a worker creative freedom when it comes to gimmicks and how will that work? Will our creative rating still play a factor? I feel like workers should have their own creative rating or better yet a attribute for this very reason.
  5. I assume there will be attribute tags that will label workers good or bad at certain gimmick types? Will we need to create a new gimmick for every new signed worker before debut or will some gimmicks carry over?
  6. It would be cool to see fans use of social media. Some sort of fan reaction & feedback, maybe even interaction with the wrestlers. That would really make things immersive.
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TLCJR4LIFE" data-cite="TLCJR4LIFE" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Then it’s just mechanically worse than no split at all.<p> </p><p> Honestly the feature doesn’t really need to exist. </p><p> </p><p> Same disposition gets penalized because that’s how it’s worked in wrestling for the last 80 years.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The match will just have less heat. And the thing is A company like New Japan in TEW terms is often set to not use a split when they absolutely use villainous characters, they just have a good ring product and frequently blur the lines. It’s not like the penalty is huge, I do same disposition all the time in my midcard just to fill out the card or sometimes when a storyline calls for it “Mentor vs Protege for example”. </p><p> </p><p> So what I’ll get an 88 instead of a 92? Big deal.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I’m with you but it’s implemented and It is a feature that was requested a lot. So i think it’s here to stay. Better to try to improve it.</p>
  8. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Teh_Showtime" data-cite="Teh_Showtime" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Would it be as simple as just weakening the benefit of turns for companies who already have faces and heels fighting all the time anyways? <p> </p><p> That way they can’t get a big momentum bonus simply for turning and still fighting the same guys they would have regardless, but it’d take a whole retooling to gain the max effect (like a new gimmick).</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That’s a good idea.</p>
  9. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TLCJR4LIFE" data-cite="TLCJR4LIFE" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>There’s no such thing as copyrighting a gimmick.<p> If the Undertaker left WWE all he would need to do is stop calling himself The Undertaker.</p><p> </p><p> He could probably even go by Deadman or something similar.</p><p> We’ve seen this with Matt Hardy’s “Woken” character, they were originally going to buy the Broken Matt persona from TNA but after it stalled just literally fudged some letters around in the name and that was that.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Basically the only exception I can think of this is Goldust but that’s only because of the implied colors in the name and when he works elsewhere he uses a similar outfit but different colors.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Honestly agree. That new feature is quite rank to be honest. It’s basically having your cake and eating it too. Currently companies that don’t use splits have access to much wider booking and gimmick possibilities, but they also lose access to turns, which are EXTREMELY powerful in TEW due to resetting negative momentum entirely. </p><p> </p><p> It’s an amazing economy system I found 100 percent worth using babyfaces and heels, now? Why would I ever set my product to have strict split other than roleplaying purposes?</p><p> </p><p> There needs to be some sort of mechanical balance and not just done to appease a vocal minority or to simulate some nice wrestling products.</p><p> </p><p> I hate features that dumb down and marginalize the strategy elements of the game. It’s also sort of ironic that while changes were made to go out of their way to stop like a handful dudes on the forum who constantly brag about playing the game in a ridiculous manner (the new stat gain formula) features like this get announced which basically just arbitrarily take penalties away from you</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That’s my point. Same gimmick, different character. You can’t copyright a “gimmick” but you can copyright a character...</p><p> </p><p> “Deadman” wouldn’t carry much of a house hold name as “The Undertaker” not to mention that “Deadman” wouldn’t have the iconic theme music.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> I agree with the new disposition feature, it’s great but it’s should definitely come with a risk/reward because otherwise why even set your company to have a strong face/heel divide? There should be a slight bonus for face vs heel in those companies IMO.</p><p> </p><p> I’m also not a fan of the sliders. What is the difference between setting the disposition to 50 and 49?</p>
  10. If undertaker ever left WWE and went to another company, he’d either share some of the same character traits as the undertaker but using a different name and look or he would have been something similar to his bad ass gimmick. Neither of those would be as good as The Undertaker which brings me to the suggestion of being able to tie gimmicks to a company like you can currently do with a mask and alter egos. This way if Undertaker leave WWE for another company despite having a carbon copy of the undertaker traits, it would never be the undertaker because it will need to generate a new gimmick rating. If the gimmick was not tied to a company then he can debut the gimmick in any company without needing to generate a new gimmick rating.
  11. To be fair, the “gimmick” name would be the gimmick and everything that is tick off would be the character trait... Austin had character traits of a rebel, his gimmick was a stone cold rebel.
  12. I think it’s fine how it’s proposed, effecting momentum. It shouldn’t have anything to do with SQ IMO. IMO SQ is the IT factor. Someone with the IT factor could be hurt by a poor gimmick which would be a gimmick that didn’t catch on (Rock’s first gimmick) Give him a gimmick that fits his attributes and it catches heat = the Rick we know now.
  13. Also Rick Flair would just have a attribute of being a really good cool or cocky gimmick type.
  14. <p>Since gimmick names will be cosmetic, it would be very immersive if other cosmetic things were added related to the gimmick like theme music and entrance style.</p><p> </p><p> For example</p><p> </p><p> Undertaker - </p><p> </p><p> gimmick = Deadman</p><p> Theme = Cathedral (for lack of better definition)</p><p> Entrance = elaborate</p>
  15. <p>I’m in favor of the new gimmick concept. The old way was tedious and encourage power gaming. The new way is more immersive imo.</p><p> </p><p> However, I would like to see gimmick types stay (comedy, weasel, brute, etc)</p>
  16. That post had more to do with being predictable than lolcena wins and smarks but ok...
  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Donners" data-cite="Donners" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>In practical terms, how is “mediocre or uninteresting” defined? <p> </p><p> It sounds like it involves more than just show ratings - since it’s easy to get high show ratings booking on “auto pilot” - but what factors does it take into account?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I hope it’s based on repetitive booking that goes beyond just wrestler A vs Wrestler B.</p><p> </p><p> For example, being too predictable like featuring the same guys in the main event or following some sort of template where it’s predictable to open the show up with a midcard tag team match “playa”</p><p> </p><p> I also would like to see storyline heat play a role.</p><p> </p><p> Always having the the expected guy win could generate boredom as well...</p>
  18. Definitely. We already have something similar with production. The more things we can spend a budget on, the better imo.
  19. Which is way I would like to see the ability to spend money on quality of “props” and structures added to the game. Poor quality increases injury risk and botch risk. There should be a difference between an Indy steel cage and a steel cage provided by WWE... As for the latest entry, I love the fact that having multiple refs and road agents matter now instead of just running with the same guys all the time. I feel like since it’s based on workload, the same should apply to announce teams as well. I can’t imagine one announce team working all 4 or 5 TV shows. Valets retiring early if unemployed is also a nice addition! One thing I would like to see though is fringe and injured wrestlers retiring from in ring and becoming referees.
  20. <p>Loving the scouting update and the possibility of using a pro mode but I would still like to see letter grades as a option for the ranges. Football Manager uses a similar method with the numbers and I am not a fan of it and it’s not visually pleasing imo.</p><p> </p><p> And with WMMA, I always prefer the vague statements like “strong” over the numerical “85% - 90-%”</p>
  21. I would like to see this go even deeper eventually with title belt promises and a promise to something like to be kept strong in a storyline.
  22. Yes vague terms would be an even better option than letters anything but pure numbers really. It’s always good to have many options.
  23. That’s not what I’m talking about. Regardless if you use letters or numbers in the grading system, numbers will always show up on the right side of a worker’s profile once you reach the highest level of scouting. With fog of war gone, we should be able to view those in grades as well.
  24. I don’t know how I feel about no more FOG...Never been a fan of knowing exactly how a worker is rated. It would be cool if we could also have an option to see ratings as numbers or letters. That would more than compensate for the removal.
