Maybe when they reach at least medium in size. Meaning that they would have to expand their TV coverage first before adventuring off to the uncharted.

Either way that still doesn’t enable a company like old TNA or NXT to do TV shows at universal or Full Sail then have their PPV’s at a bigger arena.

  2.
Thought I’d share with anyone who has a problem with workers working for two companies like AEW and NWA or ROH and Impact at the same time.

If you set those company’s hiring rules to unemployed only, they will only sign people who left a company or who’s contract is currently expiring. The only downside is that they will not poach any workers from the Indy scene (you can do this as a user) unless their contract is coming to a close or walked out, fired etc.

Its a good way to keep people exclusive to TV shows while letting them roam the Indy scene or Japan.

  3. I would love to make custom matches with things like Cage, Barbed Wire, etc. that have less than the default Injury and Content - but at the price of a slightly lower rating from disappointing fans. "This was a ladder match but they hardly used it... He broke out thumbtacks but it was only used for one spot at the end of the match..." - Just because there's a weapon doesn't mean it will be heavily used. Of course, this means giving fans less than what they expected. It shouldn't be enough of a penalty that it makes even having the match worthless, but it should get a lower score. A 100 rated Thumbtacks Match with "Low Injury Risk" might get penalized to 90. Add "Low Content Risk" and it's dinged to 85. Still enough to not lose popularity, but also a far cry from the match it could've been.

Idk. I think HBK vs Razor is the greatest ladder match of all time and that risk factor is nothing compared to what we see now with ladder matches.

Maybe something like this would be tied to fans expected content from the product and maybe trends.

Maybe content risk can be freely moved from low risk to very high risk having an effect of fans depending on product. But the minimums fir injury risk should stay. There is always a factor of someone getting hurt when foreign objects are used. No way should a very low risk singles match and a very low risk cage match exist at the same time.

We have Elimination Chamber which has typically two Elimination Chamber matches. We have TLC which has a ladder match, a tables match, a chairs match, and a TLC match itself.

We just had a match where a guy had to get his eye removed from his eye socket (see also: ping pong ball covered in paint).

Even with PG I'm not sure I'd say with the reliance the company has given to these gimmick matches over the years, that it makes a lot of sense for those matches to be considered too hardcore for the product. I mean, yeah HiaC has had some bad bumps with Mankind and the like, but for the most part it's just a match with a cage around it. A table match is just a match but they try to break a table. It's not really what I picture when I view as a "hardcore" match.

But I also imagine getting an accurate PG representation is kind of difficult in text format. So I'm not entirely sure what to suggest aside from editing certain stipulations to not be considered hardcore, as it wouldn't push the fan base away.

Because the only reason I've ever heard anyone complain about the HiaC matches is because they're doing them too often rather than saving them for feud ending matches, rather than them being hard to watch or whatnot.

You can argue that a HIAC match or elimination chamber match doesn’t hit the same as it did during RA and AE eras compared to now which would lean more toward the PG era because the product and storylines are so soft and watered down that a match type of those significant feels out of place. I personally can’t think of the last time I was excited to see one of those matches. The storylines (outside a select few) haven’t been intense enough to warrant a stipulation.

Just because WWE does it often now doesn’t mean it’s correct, their product is a mess right now for reasons...

But the good thing is that the game isn’t stoping you from doing the matches either. Just won’t get the best grades just like real life WWE.

  5. I have been running a BCG game for a while. 2 graduating classes in I have a complaint about the way the dojos work.

I have gotten 2 workers out of 8 that were "Regular". 1 was a Hardcore style worker. The other 5 were lightweight or small high fliers or technician fliers. This seems really, really off. Why would the BCG dojo train mostly high fliers?

I realize it is random. The old dojo system had a preference for the worker style built into the school, which made a lot of sense for the reasons I outlined above. If I am running BCG I want my graduates to develop over time to be useful to me in the future as something other than jobbers. And the nice bonus of graduates is they are loyal to you. So why am I putting money into my dojo (admittedly I make far more money than it costs) to give me jobbers for a year until I get the next class of workers who mean nothing to me given my product definition?

My suggestion would be to put some kind of dojo focus on size/style and maybe an option for percentage (50 to 75 seems reasonable) that would fit this description. Maybe with a secondary specialty. So I could set up my dojo to feed me Technicians with a secondary focus in Impactful with a 70% rate on that and roll the dice on which graduates get the good destiny rolls and initial stats.

Ha! I literally was thinking the same thing earlier. I’m running a hardcore company at the moment with a dojo. Graduates with poor hardcore stats are useless to me. I agree, dojo’s should have a style preference.

  6. So, revert back to TEW13?

People cried bloody murder when they'd jump to Cult (Medium in TEW20) and their Misc costs exploded for the very reason you state (taxes, costs involved with running a REAL business, etc). What was the old strategy? Sit at Regional and build up a huge nest egg and try to blitz your way through Cult.

I think the expanded era settings allow people to customize the game to fit their idea of 'realism'. Cut TV and PPV revenue by 50-75%.

I am totally onboard with meddlesome owners though. Give them an 'Interference' stat or attribute, like in Football Manager.

You can make bank even on massively low PPV/TV settings. All that does anyways is make it less views/buys where pretty much medium size coverage becomes small...

If you had to force yourself to stay smaller even though you meet the requirements of going to the next limit to avoid of going bankrupt, that’s a sign of a poor financial model.

Cutting cost from smaller companies or making a patch so that cost of PPV’s are incredibly low doesn’t fix it either.

  7. Another thought I have regarding this particular setting in the Creative Meeting screen is the "Meeting" in general.

A meeting suggests multiple people. Staff members not actually game world workers, who are giving their professional feedback on various topics like Ring General and Who's hot or not.

With that in mind, if a "creative meeting" can advise who would be good signings by scouting out of the company, it would be normal for there to be folks scouting within the company to advise on people who are starting to show wear and tear.

    Good point.

  8. The question is not so much "can the company afford it?" as "would the company be able to sell all those tickets?"

In real life, NXT or NWA wouldn't be able to fill a 5000 seat arena every single week so it makes sense to stay in a studio, tape several episodes at once, and only hold special events at bigger venues. Yes, the WWE could afford the cost of having NXT go on the road, they even considered it, but my best guess is that ultimately it would be a waste of money so they're sticking to the studio.

But if the AI runs a company that CAN sell 5000 tickets every week and can afford the cost of travelling, then why would they insist on staying in the small studio they started in?

Because the player playing in the world they created wanted them too?

Doesn’t really matter the size of a venue. We should have the option to make the AI film all of their TV shows at Madison square garden if we wanted to.

Maybe someone wants the AI to run shows at a specific location and then their Events at bigger locations around the country.

I set PWG max size to small and fix venue majority of their events at American Legion and they do fine financially. Some folks might want their Indy scene to stay the indie scene.

  9. But it doesn't seem very realistic to me! Why would a big company insist on "studio wrestling" when they can sell 5000 tickets per tv show, just because they started in a studio when they were small?

It also not realistic to go from a crowd of 500 to 10,000 in a year...

Besides I’m sure NWA have enough money and influence to not film in a studio of 200 people.

    Same for NXT Wrestling.

  10. But what if the company size changes? Like, they normally tape their TV show in a 500 seat venue, but then they get big enough to fill a 5000 people arena, should the AI still be forced to tape the show at the 500 seat venue and leave so much money on the table?

I like the feature for events because of course if the event is called "The Battle of Los Angeles" you want it to happen in Los Angeles, and that's why I also love the fact that we now have locations and not just venues, so that the AI can always hold "The Battle of Los Angeles" in LA whether they need 100 seats or 100.000, but for TV shows it seems like it would force the AI into stupid decisions.

Besides, since companies can now have a "Home Arena", don't AI companies tend to tape their TV show at the home arena as long as it makes sense for them to do so? I'll admit I haven't really checked but isn't that a decent solution?

Hence why we should have the same options for TV. Whether someone want a company to stay in a specific arena (studio wrestling) despite size or keep them in a specific area for TV despite size.

Home arenas don’t matter once they get big enough. Point of this suggestion is to keep them at their home arena (studio wrestling) despite raising in size. They will still make tons of money from sponsors.

Another scenario is maybe someone want to keep a specific TV show in a specific country (NJPW Strong) or don’t want Raw or Smackdown running tapings outside of the US.

    Options and more control.

  11. Anyone else still finding it far too easy to make money in this game? I just don't struggle financially even playing as a Tiny fed in a region with falling economy and wrestling. Given that we live in a world wherein wrestling companies the size of WWE have to make cuts, I find it a hindrance to immersion that making money is so easy in this game.

Yes it’s easy because we get a lot of money in but not really a lot going out.

We should be paying more in taxes the bigger our company gets and any company under medium currently don’t pay any general or admin costs which should be used for balancing.

That’s why it’s still easy after The PPV adjustments.

  12.
I agree, attendance for normal events is way too high IMO but attendance for more important events is still too low.

A tiny or small company, once they reach a certain threshold of POP in a region they could draw almost 10K for a normal event but yet not get much boost for a legendary event (maybe a couple thousand more)

With the example above 78 pop should probably get around 20k for a regular event but WM definitely should be way higher like the above says.

There is much of a gap between Normal and Legendary.

  13. I know this have been tweaked but the handbook says

“Regions in the company’s home area have a relatively high ceiling. A min of 55 even when there are less than 1,500 viewers”

With this “soft cap” on home regions (min of 55, so who knows what the cap actually is) we are able to get as much as 70+ popularity in our home region with Tiny broadcast coverage (less than 1,500 viewers)

In reality, the hard cap for such coverage should be at least 55 (I prefer 35 for tiny which is just enough to grow your company from tiny to small) , otherwise there is really no incentives to look for bigger and better broadcasters to grow in size. Just stay with tiny coverage. Yes we’ll lose out on money but lack of income have never been a problem in this game. Especially since our roster can still gain massive popularity with only tiny TV coverage which is also a long term problem.

Broadcasters under medium coverage should have a much lower cap considering that we have a option of Full, Semi, or off...
