    How big were her heels in that Valiant pic? And already moving the HQ? Interesting. They're still going to have to run the shows in the states in and around MN to even hope of turning a profit anytime soon.

    Moolah would never agree to lose the match, and she'd probably turn it into a shoot really quickly so Renee is a lot healthier for the match not happening.

    Okay, it was the Team Blondie name that decided it, wasn't it? Wondering how long it'll be until JYD is the AWA World Champ with Watts booking. I'm not sure how long you're going to run this out, but Flair jumping to the AWA because of Crockett instead of his ill-fated WWF run would be a massive boost for the company. Wonder how the TV negotiations are going to go now that Tribune is likely a little sore? Guess we'll all find out soon enough. This diary has been so fun to read.

    And I'm sure Hardy won't mention this list at all in her promos as we're heading for Hardy vs Martel 2 all across Canada to warm the hearts of every Canadian during their horrendous winters.🙄 Also, Moolah is going to be crowing about being #1. Actually, she's probably going to be mad as hell about 2-5 (could she go after Hardy just to spite everyone?) and of course, #8 because she was a spiteful, hateful, awful person irl.

    Team Blondie needs to pick up a few more blondes (or 4 Non-Blondes to keep it music-themed) to come close to matching that offer. Not sure how Tribune is going to turn a profit with that much money going out the door given the shape of the AWA. Wonder what Memphis is doing right about now? Picking up CWA/USWA would help a lot with talent and a few good drawing houses a week.

    I agree with Greg on taking the deal, but I also agree with Verne that there have to be massive strings attached to front that much money. That makes the TV deal cost next to nothing to produce, but you're getting $30k/month or $7500/episode. That's a heck of a lot of money for 1990. Maybe not enough to cover the new hires you'll need, but that's what the rest of their fortune is for. But there just has to be another shoe floating in the sky waiting to drop. Wonder why Crockett or Watts aren't talking to some networks?

    Poor Sally. A little surprised at how cordial Verne and Jim are after that debacle and running their biggest event in Chicago, but they're both wrestling guys through and through. Can't wait for the epic conclusion of the sale. Hope you continue after the sale as it'll be interesting to see who gets brought in. Given what Herd does to WCW, I could see a lot of people there jumping at the chance to main event in the AWA.

    It'd be fun for Tribune to buy the AWA and keep Verne on, but if there's a tiny shortlist of people worse than Vince, there's Ron.

    Just something for people to note. For some weird reason, the first time I downloaded the file it had everything but the database file in it, but once I redownloaded it using the same link from the "It's too big to virus check" page, the mdb file was there. Look forward to trying it out tonight.

    Time for a gimmicked shark cage that one of the bigger heels rips open Miss Piggy-style to free her so she can interfere one last time before being barred from ringside. Or just a hefty fine for touching the officials, whether they're into it or not as I'm sure Young will say they are.

    August in Vegas? Outside? They've all dehydrated themselves in about 30 minutes even swimming occasionally. Vegas is fun, but it's inside fun only. 110 degrees and 10% humidity.

    Ah, the old Memphis trick of "Wrestler X is leaving the territory for a run elsewhere for 6-12 months so he loses a LLT match". Renee can go win the title in the States. Is her dad going with her since they won't know he's supposed to be injured?

    Isn't excessive brawling what you're supposed to get in a Koloff vs Baker match? I'm hoping Renee isn't going to get pulled off of shows now that "She has to take care of her injured father." That'd be so 1968. I don't remember you mentioning her mother, so I'm guessing he's single?

    Do you by chance have an ad blocker on? I have Ad Blocker Ultimate on my Firefox browser, and it will occasionally block scripts. I had trouble setting up my Verizon internet account because of it and it wouldn't let me sign in on PCH until I turned it off. Try turning it off and see if it works.

    Thanks. That was a lot easier to read. Though who knows how good it is since I'm having to read this in Edge as Firefox and this forum seem to be incompatible all of a sudden. That world title match is going to be a banger.

    Is anyone else really struggling with reading anything in the black box? I had to highlight it so it'd show up. Though weirdly in mmaaddict's predictions, it shows up pretty well. But gray text on black isn't easily readable in general.

    I was counting Main Event as an hour. Are you saying that Saturday Night is 2.5 hours? Given how many matches and your long talk show/halftime segments, that wouldn't be too surprising. And yeah, Garvin should be in decline at this point and likely Hayes as well as the drugs had caught up with both before 1992. Gordy was one of the best ever that nobody remembers. So much talent in a huge body. If you could get him clean, he could have had another 8-10 years. But the overwork issue is real with anyone working Japan in TEW as there's no "But you're going for 3-5 weeks then off for 2 months." setting for them.

    I'm kind of surprised that with all the initial roster cleaning and drug testing that all 3 Freebirds stuck around, but I'm guessing their 0-fers are their punishment. Sadly all 3 were pretty much on their last legs at this point irl though Gordy had a few more good years in AJPW with Dr. Death before nearly killing himself with an OD. A TV tag title is interesting. I guess it was never done because you usually only had one-hour shows combined with fitting 2 TV titles around all your other stuff would be really hard. The 3 hours you've got make it more feasible, though really all you're doing is just making the title always on the line in their matches.

    From the bowels of the internet would come a stupid comment like this one. "Hey look, Steamboat is finally a draw! Two of them in fact." Then, he would read an ad for Stephen P. New. I really do love this diary. It's a unique idea, and the write-ups are bite-sized enough to accomplish everything. How often are you running PPVs and Clashes? That could make the titles mean a lot. And Eric being good at his job is the only unbelievable thing in this diary.

    Okay, that might be the truest thing in your portrayal of Verne. How can Verne screw himself out of a revived AWA that can live on? The man screwed himself out of a company through the 1980s with horrific booking and talent handling so he should be doing something equally dumb in this.
