  1. Weird. I just tried on Firefox, and I can get the demo/trial to load the download box and the same with the Trial to Retail. However, the retail download just spins. Oh, it took about 5 minutes for some reason while the other 2 loaded almost instantly. Might want to try Firefox to get it if Chrome still won't let you do the trial then the trial to retail since you'll need that to get the E-License part.
  2. Well, that's reason #5,082 that TEW20 is utter garbage. Clearly, the US inner circle needs a geography lesson as I can't blame a Brit for not knowing how stupid this is. I'd ask why the change, but I just don't care. The game is so bad it has kept me from playing the golden 2016 version. Breaking everything just because you don't like how people were playing your game is dumb. There are only a few sparsely-populated counties that get WV or NC tv whereas any carryover is from OH, IN, IL, TN, or MO. There is absolutely no logical reason for this change, and I hope every mod maker ignores it.
  3. Wait, what??? They have never been in Mid Atlantic ever in the history of the game. The only argument has ever been South East or Great Lakes with them always having to be in the SE due to Memphis/CWA wrestling. Mid Atlantic makes no sense whatsoever.
  4. Oh, I'm sure it's Bischoff who stole the contract and called him to work out a much better deal on a new promotion "since the AWA's brand has become too toxic to save". Always blame that scumbag.
  5. 6 days? Oh man, do you realize how many NXT people are going to get fired after TakeOver since Johnny Ace wants to ruin NXT like he did OVW in 2005? You might want to hurry that up or delay it until after the purge (number 10 or so). Or maybe you want to actually keep NXT playable and fun with talent instead of lumbering oafs? Definitely can't wait to read it.
  6. Based on the tech support topic, it looks like any title reign that starts Week 1 of when the mod starts triggers that title reign alert. Not sure if it's worth editing or if Adam will patch the patch to remove it. It's definitely something the patch added and not a mod issue.
  7. I'm only mad I wasn't invited to the meeting. I would have paid good money to see that fraud fired in person.
  8. Congrats on hitting National. Interesting that every titleholder is a main eventer. Might need a midcard title for the Midnight Express errr...the Fabulous Ones since Bobby is out. Might need to move Eaton out of the roster position.
  9. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Not Beautiful Bobby! This game just hates on the all-time greats for you.
  10. That was worse than the Montreal Screwjob! Either Syxxx's pop gain has been huge, or she had to fire everyone just to cover the $100k she had to pay Bret to take the loss.
  11. Have a wonderful holiday season. I'm guessing the drug-sniffing dogs at the Charlotte airport started growling when they heard the news that Gino has moved? Certainly the cops had a few choice words about it. And I see you've grown tired of David dinging every match with his poor commentary stat.
  12. Vince on the phone: "Get me John Stossel to come here for another interview piece with some of our talent. No, we'll make sure Schultz isn't there. Would I lie to you?"
  13. Man, even TEW is like "Nope, we've got to keep that Von Erich curse in the game."<img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  14. We're talking about 2 different things. I was responding to the usual "Whaaaa...every mod should be freeware." post that appears about twice a month in the mod section. I never downloaded Jam's mod so I can't judge whether it was half, quarter, or fully fleshed out, but the 2016 mod was awesome without needing any real help besides doing the massive list of conversion stuff this version of the game added. I don't know why he pulled it, and frankly, as wretched as 2020 is, I wouldn't be playing it anyway. If the 2016 version truly is freeware, then problem solved as anyone can convert it and do all the work on it. But it should be THEIR work. I mean it only took me and another person 2 months of about 4 hours a day to fix the 1985 mod for a personal game (and really only doing the US and some Canada work) so anyone should be willing to do that instead of whining that every mod should be freeware, right, everyone who whines about it constantly (not talking about you Gaz)? I marvel at the great work you do super-fast. I just wish the game rewarded you for all your hard work and everyone else who makes mods for this lame version.
  15. Go work on a mod yourself for 2 months then chime back in with "Well, I'll let this go so anyone can tweak 5 things and claim ownership of it." We'll wait. Modding is pure hell, and God-bless the ones that are actually putting in the work on this very lousy version of the game. Taking other people's work and claiming it as your own is the second-worst thing the internet has ever brought about. It's an epidemic. You do work. You get the credit. Not I'm going to steal this and slap my name on it so it's mine.
  16. No!!! Say it ain't so, Roddy! Doing Hogan's work for him is beneath you. Always the heel though so it's not surprising.
  17. The problem with his entire post is that he's tagged as someone employed by GDS. That alone means that person should NEVER be debating/arguing/engaging in the forum. That's completely unprofessional behavior from the company. If a person with the company wants to engage in that behavior, then they should have a second account approved by Arlie to do so. If a AAA company tried this (and there have been instances of them doing that), they've been slammed all over the gamer media for doing it. Obviously, Adam is exempt from this as he's the sole coder on the game. And Tomato, you left out so many things that make 2020 a trainwreck, but your list was pretty accurate. I wish this game was good, but it just isn't. I wish all the frequently listed problems would get fixed.
  18. Yeah, if you're playing 80s or 90s WCW and don't have Flair, are you really playing WCW? Stupid Jim Herd and really idiotic Eric Bischoff.
  19. These are people that have pretty good pop in several different mods because I almost never use unknown interviewers in angles as they tend to tank the rating just like unknown wrestlers. And this version of 2020 is just garbage. I've hoped and hoped things would get fixed, but all tweaking has made it worse. Here's the situation, though I don't see how you can fix any of this. I ran my first night of TV (moved Main Event to Saturday with WCW Saturday Night). I made one mistake in not cheating and daring to rate Sting getting attacked by a returning Flair (User) and Tully in one angle as a minor defeat which I replayed without the ding on the B show. Well, that booted Sting out of being a Major Star which halved his Figurehead bonus. So, that's great and makes absolutely no sense and just screams "Hey, you're never supposed to use negative things in angles ever so cheat, cheat, cheat!". The A show gets an 80 (did the math and should have gotten an 81 but big whoop). Oh, did I say big whoop? Well, it dropped my pop in Mid Atlantic, which was 80, and then, the biggest ruination in the game happened. Medium TV is now utterly useless when you have 70 pop. FIVE areas in the US didn't have enough viewers despite one region being below Medium on TBS to gain pop on the +10 show. So, to recap, out of 11 regions 6 stayed the same or lost pop on a +10 show. The Europe deal is utterly pointless because it'll never gain pop due to a lack of viewers. Drew a 0.81 rating btw. Did I mention I start at 70 pop across the US with 1 80? The industry is at 42, not 22, 12, or even 2. Big coverage requires the most ridiculous show ratings even on cable (which why is everything at Terrestrial instead of Cable?) to the point that no Medium company should be able to easily run that well at anything but the worst timeslots (TBS' default Evening slot is 83 because one region is big but on terrestrial instead of cable which drops it by about 7 points in other mods). So, essentially, I'd be playing this game knowing nothing I do matters outside of maybe PPV giving me pop for about 3-5 years (industry is going down which is accurate for 1993 btw) until the industry gets back up to what, 60, 70, 80, doesn't matter??? How in the hell is any of that fun? Why turn TEW into a worse, way less fun grind than Darkest Dungeon or Iratus is? There are tons of games that will gleefully punch you in the face repeatedly. This shouldn't be on that list!!! I didn't even mention that developmental has been ruined. Bottom line is the mod is excellent, but I don't see how any accurate mod in a down era will work if you're trying to go from Medium to Big unless you turn Natural Growth completely off which will let every fed go bonkers.
  20. Are you 100% sure about that? Because anytime I've had less than 40 even with an interviewer, the segment has tanked. And there are a bunch of wrestlers in there that have been wrestling for several years that had 0 experience, some had 20 that had been wrestling for nearly a decade. But absolutely anyone you're going to use as a road agent has to have a bunch of experience whether they've wrestled or not, or they're utterly useless. Can't even do a 4-minute promo angle without screwing it up much less road agent multiple segments on a show. And if it was going to be nothing but wrestling experience why name it a generic experience? That's dumb.
  21. The only thing I see really wrong in the mod is the thing that has plagued every mod that has been converted--the experience stat. There are a ton of 0s and 20 or below on guys that should have way more. Too many to list. Basically, I'd say to do a massive once-over on them. Keep in mind that any non-wrestlers have to have at least a 40, or they ruin every segment they're in. At least that's been my experience with road agents and interviewers. I would quibble with Austin's performance row stats. He's way better than 55's at this time in his career. Steamboat having a 55 SQ is shocking. You might need to add some of the age-specific attributes to a few people. Terry Funk has none, for instance, which means he's probably going to retire soon. Your mod did remind me just how much I absolutely hate the negotiation AI in 2020 though. It's so bad and incredibly annoying.
  22. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="hailthebulldog" data-cite="hailthebulldog" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="52039" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>One spillover for CWF is that they were broadcasted on the Spanish channels in NYC. So much so that stars from Florida would come into MSG for the first time and get major reactions from the fans. Ron Fuller, who was extremely popular in Florida in the early 70's attested to this in one of his podcasts. So if you need to raise CWF popularity anywhere, Tri State might be a good place to do it.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Honestly, that's what I thought had done it which is why I had to go double-check when I posted that it was Mid-Atlantic at 35. I haven't run things long enough to see if it matters if any NWA fed hits Medium or not, but I'd doubt it. It's just weird to see them as the top fed is all.</p>
  23. The issue is that every fed should be around 50 pop in their home area, and it takes 59 plus 35 in a spillover region to go from Small to Medium. So, Florida has 45 in Mid-Atlantic which is the issue with them. CSW has 35 in Mid-South. I had to double-check the math so just pure spillover won't hit 35 until 87.5 which is unlikely any fed will hit so they'll be stuck at Small without a TV deal which without the multi-region stations is impossible. The Figurehead problem is that it's built for a Hogan/Austin/Rock/Cena which pretty much didn't exist before Hogan, Flair, and Dusty. If you did a 50s mod, Lou Thesz would be a terrible figurehead because he had about as much charisma as Jake "Negative Charisma" Hager had in Lucha Underground. The guys you have are appropriate but they never had the stats for it to work in TEW. Honestly, I'm kind of surprised Bruno worked in WWWF, but that is probably because no one else is on his level at the start of the game. And my only real complaint is the psych level of everyone in the US is on par with modern mods (post-2001). If the argument is "Well, everyone today just does flippy-@*(( and doesn't tell stories like the old days.", well why isn't that reflected in the mod? If it's "I need to nerf most people to fit into how TEW works in 2020" then the game has even more issues than I thought it did. Maybe the psych levels were the same in 2016 as I never got far into the mod then due to the super-high pop of the feds (as I had noted to you), but I thought I had a good long list of hires to pick from that aren't there this time. Part of that is with the new Perception system and it being nearly impossible to get unimportant people over without rampant cheating/gaming the system which wasn't a thing before.
  24. Wow, this mod is completely different than the 2016 version. And the reason nobody noted the broadcaster issue in 2016 is that you had all of them ticked to must cover home, which turned that 0 into 1 effectively but kept other companies out of the region. In 2020, it seems to require you to have the X pop in that region as long as you have it set to 1 which is similar, but less restrictive. It's an easy fix as you can mass edit everyone appropriate to 1 in the editor. The only things that I think need to be fixed is the figureheads are nearly all failures on Day 1 which hurts their morale. Bruno is fine, but almost everyone else got dropped. I'd love to know why CWF is the top company in the US as I'm sure you have a very sound reason, but it's just weird. Central States being Medium too is odd since they were never the most profitable fed given how small their cities were. Geigel just ran the NWA a lot.
