  1. I don't know if it can be changed now or not. If not it isn't a big deal. I think when you release a talent early the player should have to pay a percentage of the remaining salary. By capping it at 6 months its almost a no brainer to offer as many years as possible to outdo other offers. By making it a percentage of remaining salary it makes muiti year deals, especially to aging talent, more of a risk.
  2. Some good ones here. Did I miss Skull DeBones vs Tyson Baine (preferably as BLZ Bubb)? Sounds like a natural to me. Tommy Cornell vs Sean McFly
  3. What's recommended if I bought a new MacBook Pro 16 (the 2019 one)? While I don't have unlimited funds (especially if I go ahead and get the MBP) I'm more interested in getting the game to run well and simply. I'm not looking for the bargain solution.
  4. Ultimate Warrior beating Honky Tonk Man in 30 seconds. I was a fan of the Warrior at the time and was completely surprised. It was also my first PPV.
  5. I went with a youth movement for SWF. As an afterthought I signed Nelson Callum even though nothing about him excited me. But I brought him along, he got over as Krippler Kallum and after going over Skull DeBones (DeBones won the last match but Kallum won the series 2-1) he is set to beat Mikey Lau to take the SWF World title.
  6. Edit their age in the in game editor if decline hits them. But yes setting everyone’s decline age to 55 kinds works. If you need further non aging edit the over 55s to be younger when they hit 55.
  7. I simply have my heavies pay the worker a visit … Actually it would be cool if you could fire a wrestler for refusing the request. Don't get it twisted: it wouldn't be cool in real life to fire a wrestler for refusing the request. But in game if you wanted to try to be intimidating and force people to do what you wanted them to do. Of course you'd end up losing the lawsuit for firing them without cause.
  8. I'd be a dude playing a real world mod in a wrestling booker game.
  9. SWF - Default Database SWF World - Mikey Lau SWF Tag Team - Bumfholes (as "Amazing Grace") SWF North American (now "Supreme" as a second main event title): Gino Montero SWF TV: Jefferson Stardust
  10. You could use Primus as a protégé for Remo. I put him in a tag team with Mighty Mo as Liberation Front. You could also team him up with Des Davids or go in a different direction. Bodyguard or hired muscle. One time I had him and Squeeky McClean as minions for Rich Money. They were kinda pathetic as "obstacles" but I put them in a tag team and they started to do well. Eventually McClean developed a loyalty for Primus so when Money tried to fire him McClean quit too and sided with Primus as an oddball tag team.
  11. Well I'm really enjoying what will probably be my last save before 2020 hits. This time I resisted the urge to spend on established stars and instead focused on building my own young stars. Here are some: Mikey Lau - he has a wolverine style intense fighter gimmick who slays giants. Among his victims are Khoklow, Brandon and Remo. I put the SWF World title on him at the June PPV in a six way match then he retained by beating the former champion Jack Bruce at Supreme Challenge 2016. I liked this since the expected outcome is Lau gets a fluke title win and then loses it back in the rematch. Jack Bruce = Jericho. After he lost the title he disappeared for a couple of months then came back as a redeemed babyface. Jimmy Hernandez - New Name "Lance Joy". I started as a Jimmy Fallon type entertaining face then he morphed into a megachurch pastor type (turning heel). He's way over and I thought about putting the title on him but decided to keep it on Lau. His stable is the House of Joy (with his deacons McClean, Joe Sexy and Huntington plus the dark sie of Joy: Scythe). Spencer Spade - Renamed Sebastian Shaw he is a heel talk show host. In a feud with Lumis (Kirk Jamison). Lumis is a cross between Elias and a medieval bard. I used Dawn as his lady (whom he stole from Shaw) to get him over. Lumis just lost a match to Shaw and must be his servant for 60 days though with tight restrictions (Shaw cannot harm him nor tell him to harm others. He cannot be ordered to "throw a match". If Shaw does any of these the servitude is over. If Lumis disobeys any "lawful order" he is banned for life). I plan for Lumis and Shaw to bond and become almost a team. Then Shaw orders Lumis to attack someone (assuming they are now allies) and Lumis hits Shaw. They go before Commissioner Faith and the ruling is in Lumis' favor since Shaw ordered him to attack a wrestler. KC Glenn now Heli Kairos using the render from the Cornellverse 2018 (kinda has a Greek look about him). The "Greek Freak" does his talking in the ring through the air. Gino Montero - The Guevara to Bruce's Jericho but takes over after Bruce loses the title and disappears. But they haven't confronted each other yet. Matthew Keith - my next champ. Emma Chase is his manager, rocketing to the top. Might turn him face. Remo - barely lost to Lau inside the cage. The Black militant Des Davids tried to get Remo to join him and wreak vengeance, claiming the "man" is keeping them down. Remo acknowledges that Lau won clean in the cage (after complaining that Lau's "flash pinfall" prior was a bad call and it was). So Remo is a face now. The Bumfholes are now Amazing Grace. They had a huge feud with The Awesomeness. They did a double turn after Amazing Grace won the titles so Emma signed Amazing Grace and fired The Awesomeness. Since the ladder match (a rematch at Supreme Challenge where Amazing Grace retained the titles and was then signed by Chase) I figured those two teams fought enough so they are now in separate stories as The Awesomeness tries to climb back up for a title shot. They rejected Lance Joy's offer to join him and are feuding with the Deacons of Joy (McClean & Sexy). Nelson Kallum - Now Krippler Kallum using the "Lobster Warrior is now The Crippler" render. I'm putting him over Skull DeBones. I want DeBones to get the last laugh (like Faith, see below). DeBones also had a feud with Tyson Baine. Began on Supreme Challenge as a dream match and ended on Halloween with Debones winning both times (and losing in the middle). Christian Faith - put over Gino Montero twice but despite Montero being faster and younger Faith beat him in his final match at Supreme Challenge. Now he's Commissioner Faith. Thanks to whoever read all that. Its been fun.
  12. When Brice Lee (as Kato of the Green Hornet) series was asked to lose to Robin (Batman 60s TV series) in a crossover special he refused. They did a fight where no one won. I always suspected Mace Windu (Samuel L Jackson) refused to job clean to Emperor Palpatine so Anakin had to get involved. I don't actually think that's true but as a wrestling fan I thought it lol.
  13. Honestly if you don’t feel the game is simulating Owen well I’d use the editor to undo the effects. I know that’s anathema to some but I play a game to have fun. It seems that a flaw like what is being described is as good a case for editor intervention as any. Challenge is all fine and good so don’t overuse the editor or it’ll get boring but I think using it to remedy a flaw is fine.
  14. Incidents where he'll do whatever damage he'll do that night happen before the show. The game won't know whether you plan to use him or not so he's in the building therefore you have to send him on vaca. Or send him to developmental if you have one. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken but I'm almost positive that's how it works. That part mirrors reality as well. If the company is having a show the big stars are going to be there unless they are told they don't need to be and they won't have to be on screen to have an effect on the backstage atmosphere.
  15. Post Montreal Shawn did next to nothing that couldn't have been done by someone else. Of course there is no way they could have known he'd get injured. But with the benefit of hindsight they should have kept Bret and gotten rid of Shawn. Bret had his own issues but he was much better in the locker room and would have made much more sense being the person to pass the title on to Austin. From a storyline perspective it comes full circle, Austin gets his win back from Bret. From a image perspective its out with the old school represented by Bret and the in with the Austin Attitude Era. All that to say fire him. You don't need Vader either. Just develop new stars. The WWF did just fine without him. If you think about other than the Hell In a Cell match what did he really do once he "found his smile again"? Now if you were in 1996 that would be a very hard pill to swallow. He was carrying everyone to amazing matches. Since you have a few weeks until WM keep him off TV. His overness can be used in angles featuring the person (Austin I'd guess) who you are passing the title to. Then he can't cause trouble because he won't be there. This isn't far from what they actually did with HBK due to the back injury (limited TV appearances and angles, some recorded from home, no matches).
  16. Anybody else push Remo as the top face? In the default data Bruce is getting up in age and Gilmore was my other top guy but I thought the fans would get behind Remo as a Lesner type beast who just happened to beat up people the fans hated. I think that sort of visceral power plays well, more so when directed at the "bad guys". I use Bruce as my heel champ. It wasn't the "perfect world" option but it was the best among the available options (along with Gilmore but he gets a heavy push too) until I could get someone else over. The only issue for me was I couldn't get A matches out of him. B absolutely but A not so much. I put the title on him but I could get better match grades from other workers. So any tips on match notes for a huge athletic brawler whose non brawling top row skills are "meh" and the performance skills are good but not great?
  17. Newbie question: Will Boot Camp still work effectively for TEW? I don't mind booting into Windows on a Mac (a 16 inch newly released loaded Mac) as long as I can play TEW. Thanks.

I also agree if your product is set a certain way, some match notes shouldn't be usable. Like in the way that is described. What would be cool is a toggle feature for it. That flicks between all match notes and "recommended/appropriate" with that turned on by default. <p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I agree with the toggle feature for match aims inappropriate for the product. Sometimes its fun to have a death match at a kid friendly show held at a company Christmas party. Just like its fun to put two low stamina workers with very little ability in a 90 minute submission match. Or for another game example, summoning natural disasters to destroy your city in Sim City.</p><p> </p><p> In a serious sense if you are like me and kinda sandbox it you might say I want a TLC match and if the fans are annoyed so be it. I'll book around it (example: not put it as the main event). </p><p> </p><p> So a vote for toggles on "Hiding Product Inappropriate Match Aims".</p>
  19. I enjoyed the format of today's diary. As far as the content it seems that it is random. That you pick your level of risk and then the fate of the gimmick is in the hands of fate (fate being the game's algorithm) and the user's creativity score. It also seems like mod makers could have more work ahead as they would have to create a gimmick for all the workers. A premade list could help with that. With a premade list the current system and the new system could exist side by side kinda. I'm not saying its a bad idea, it just seems that this is based on luck / chance. The current system at least means that the user has to take into account the product they have and the skills of the worker, even if its really easy. There just isn't a way to replicate the real life process of gimmick creation (creating a character) in the game. It can't account for cultural fads / norms and such and that's a big part of what makes gimmicks work or not. In the game its always going to be a balance between simple stat analysis and luck.
  20. So how do you deal with a huge talent roster. Through hook & crook I usually end up with a gigantic roster. I always pledge that I won't do it but I love to collect. I'm also adverse to taking a "C" pop guy (I don't have a women's division cause that would make the issue even worse) and just jobbing them out even if that's what I planned to use them for (a worker with good skills but little charisma to get some match grades up). I notice many diaries and posts talk about the huge rosters. I have a three hour show and also am not crazy about brand splits* though at some point I usually do one. So what are some ways to manage a huge roster? * Actually I do use a B-brand split that is just for jobber storage, real jobbers not C level guys brought in to pop grades and maybe form tag teams.
  21. <p>Having just posted an angle (plus other stuff) mod of my own I noticed yours and downloaded it. This is very good work. A very functional angle pack. I don't mean functional as a dig but rather as a philosophy. Your angle pack sets up the player by allowing all the possibilities as far as angles go. The player uses the angle that meets the need and the story plays out in their mind. </p><p> </p><p> The other extreme would be what you usually see in historical mods which are angles built around telling a specific story from the past. The nice thing about those is that they can help the player if they have "writer's block". Also it helps players who have an idea but might not be sure how to make the idea work in TEW terms. The bad thing is those angle packs tend to be huge (since they try to cover every story or at least as many as they can) and a chore to go through (default angles and the other search helps mitigate that but its still a chore). Neither way is right or wrong, just different with strengths and drawbacks.</p><p> </p><p> Your organization system is also very impressive.</p><p> </p><p> I think the default angle set splits the difference. It has many angles that can replicate different wrestling events but also has angles that refer to specific things we see on TV. My mod expands on that a bit along with filling some holes in the default angle set (some of which your pack also fills). </p><p> </p><p> I would gladly use some of your angles (after you autoname them <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> ) but since I'm doing my own I don't want to copy your work on purpose or accidentally. Once I feel like I'm done with my angle mod I'll look at yours again and take what I need (which I'm thinking will be a good amount).</p><p> </p><p> I will credit you on the next update of my mod for inspiration. And if you want you may download my mod and take anything you find useful for your mod, no strings.</p><p> </p><p> Thank you for a very useful mod.</p>
