Tradition Dictates That You Be Welcomed... To The Coastal Zone
Backstage, Fox walks up to Rod Remus and tells him he liked their tag match last week... and if all goes well this week, they should make it a regular thing. Fox asks if Rod knows the origins of his name, and tells the tale of Romulus and Remus, raised by wolves. Tonight, if they win, the Coastal Zone will know there's a new Pack running around (E+)
Wolf Pack 2008! Also, here's hoping for a name change (Wolf Mask FTW).

Where some weeks, absolutely nothing happens. Welcome to the Coastal Zone! CZCW Coastal Tour January 2008, Week 4, Friday From the sold-out Snake Pit We open backstage, as Matt Sparrow and Ultimate Phoenix argue backstage over which of them is going to win their triple-threat match in the main event. They storm off in opposite directions... and Plague pokes his head up from behind a nearby dumpster, grinning. "That's what the two of you think..." (D) OPENING MATCH: Vendetta Tag Preview Frankie Perez def. Rod Remus in twelve minutes via flash rollup (D) After the match, Rod is upset about his performance, but Fox tells him not to worry -- in a tag match, they can rely on each other, and at Vendetta, they're going to take the tag titles (E+) MATCH #2 Insane Machine def. Snap Dragon in fourteen minutes via finisher (D-) MATCH #3: Vendetta Tag Preview Fox Mask draws Remmy Skye vis double DQ in eighteen minutes following interference from both Frankie Perez and Rod Remus (D-) Afterwards, the tag champs get the advantage and beat down the challengers before leaving (E) MAIN EVENT: Triple Threat Ultimate Phoenix def. Matt Sparrow and Plague in twenty-six minutes via finisher on Sparrow (D) We reveal that this was a #1 Contendership match for Vendetta (D) Show rating: D- Disappointing... Although we were glad that Remus could turn out a good match, for some reason, people weren't getting into Fox Mask and Remmy Skye as much as they should be. Maybe we had tinkered with the product too much in this strange new world. We had a moment of worry as Frankie Perez signed up with 4C, but his loyalties were still with the Zone; we didn't have to worry about losing half our tag team champs before the title match. What worried me, however, was when Cliff pulled me into his office at the end of the month."Billy," he said, "I know you're doing this 'slow build' to growth... but we got problems, right now. IN the Northwest, Southwest, and Midsouth, there's sort of this three-way war going on between us, AAA, and BSC. Now, we're competing against two women's promotions. We should be winning. AAA is beating us. I'd like you to work on that. If we're serious about this, I'd like to beat throse broads in at least one region. The Northwest is probably out of the question, so... find a way to work on one of the other two." This... could get complicated. But the good news: After our first show lost money, the addition of 90-minute weekly shows kicked in and we made twenty-six thousand dollars in a single month. That's a good 5% growth in money -- which was enough to convince Cliff to let me stay on. Now, to hope that we didn't burn through our fans before we burned through their wallets... Next time, on the Coastal Zone: CZCW Vendetta 2008! Donnie J vs Matt Sparrow, Skye & Perez vs The Pack, and we'll probably throw an Xtreme title match in there... and a few other things. I mean, it's a two-hour show.

Welcome to CZCW Vendetta February 2008, Week 1, Monday From the sold-out Snake Pit, Southwest USA We open with the tag champs talking about how much better they are than the challengers, and the challengers coming out to refute that. (E+) OPENING MATCH Snap Dragon def. Al Coleman in fifteen minutes via submission (D-) Ultimate PHoenix hypes up the main event (D+) MATCH #2 Plague def. Kirk Jameson in sixteen minutes via finisher (E+) Afterwards, Plague shakes the new kid's hand (E-) MATCH #3: Xtreme Title Lucha Libre Mikey James def. Flyin' Jimmy Foxx(c) in eighteen minutes via pinfall (D) Donnie J cuts a promo on Phoenix (D+) MATCH #4: Tag Team Title Ladder Match The Pack (Fox & Remus) def. Frankie Perez & Remmy skye (c) in twenty-two minutes (D) Hype video for the main event (D) MAIN EVENT: CZCW Championship Donnie J (c) def. Ultimate Phoenix in twenty minutes via finisher (D+) Show rating: D A little bad luck on this show. We had expected Plague and Kirk to have at least a decent match, if not a good one; instead, it turns out that they just don't click at all. Our ladder match failed to be the blow-away we were hoping for. The main event, while what we were hoping for, managed to drag the show back to 'mediocre' but failed to be memorable enough to make it a great show. Next time, on the Coastal Zone: It may not be a death spiral, but it's not a growth cycle either... and we're burning through fans at a dangerous rate. Is it time to begin losing money, or will we lose our business instead?

Where someti... wait. Joker The Pimp just flashed up on the 'random worker profile'. Joker the freakin' Pimp. Dude, seriously, WTF? We're never going to Welcome him to the Coastal Zone... So, we knew what our problem was. AAA was pulling off C- shows somehow. Our only advantage was that we were running five shows a month... hoping to beat them with quantity through quality. The theory being that more shows would let our workers gain popularity quickly and that the gain in popularity would lead to higher-rated shows. The downside, of course, is that we were rapidly running out of people willing to pay for tickets on a weekly basis. So, our plan was to kill two birds with one stone and hold a few shows in other regions. It would cost us in fundage, but it should help us... help us... do something... So we needed some quick, throw-away shows we could use to expand our populairty while not blowing too much cash. No problem, right? Well... one minor issue, which we'd discuss with the talent at our Friday show. "So, guys... this touring show? Well... tonight is the beginning of the end." I waited for the grumbling to die down. "After the show, we'll go over tips and tricks for doing a television show. We'll be on Los Desportes Hoy, so brush up on your Spanish." CZCW Coastal Tour February 2008, week 1, Friday From the nowhere-near-sold-out Colorado Springs Bar, Midsouth USA We open with Ultimate Phoenix promising he'll win his title rematch, but Plague pops his head out from behind the bar and tells Phoenix he needs to go to the end of the line for title shots. Peonix refuses, and Plague promises that tonight, he'll force him to the back of the line (D) OPENING MATCH Al Coleman def. The American Flash in ten minutes via pinfall (E-) MATCH #2 Kirk Jameson def. Rex Reeves in thirteen minutes via pinfall (E) The Pack cut a promo on 'the lowest tag-team in the Zone since a pair of Canadian hockey players'. (D-) MATCH #3: Tag Titles The Pack (c) def. Rich & Famous (Jackpot & Idol) in fourteen minutes via Remus Clutch (E+) MATCH #4: Xtreme Title Mikey James def. Masked Cougar in seventeen minutes via pinfall (D-) MAIN EVENT Plague def. Ultimate Phoenix in eighteen minutes via finisher (D) Show rating: D. So, perhaps earning popularity elsewhere wouldn't be as hard as we thought. Next time, on the Coastal Zone: Attitude problems backstage as the Zone prepares for their first television show... but how much competition are we going to have when we get it?

Where we're the idols of millions... or perhaps just of a couple dozen kids with trampolines. Welcome to the Coastal Zone! So, while our mediorcre shows weren't doing well in the Southwest, we did find that we could make some headway into the Mid-South. With more shows a month than AAA< we could afford to try and out-manuver them there -- and maybe sap some of their fans there. And hopefully it wouldn't hurt our finances too much if we restricted ourselves to lower-card workers. Like, say Al Coleman. Who was getting a bad attitude and ticking off a lot of people backstage. We tried to reason with him, reminding him of the year he spent unemployed the last lime he a cted like this. Hopefully, that'd do the trick. Over the next week, SWF rose to Global size, thus solidifying themselves as the name to beat. As part of their rise, they offered a contract to Matt Sparrow. Guess who was jobbing out for the next few weeks? And, in the meantime, guess who we're going to offer contracts to to repace him? So, yes, we were going to have our own TV show. Probably way too early for us, but what the heck. We scored a late-evening Thursday spot on Los Desportes Hoy. They already aired SOTBPW on Friday evenings, and had also decided to show MPWF early in the evening on Saturdays. So we had some competition, but we had the edge of being the first show of the week, and not being strictly lucha libre. We'd have to see how we did against the other feds. CZCW Coastal Tour February 2008, week 2, Friday From the closer-but-still-not-sold-out Colorado Springs Bar, Mid-South USA We open with Matt Sparrow declaring that before he leaves for SWF< he's taking the CZCW Title with him. Plague pops his head out of the off-sale door and tells Sparrow that by the end of the night, The Birdman'll be at the back of the line. (D) OPENING MATCH: Tag Rick And Famous def. American Flash & Jeremiah Moose in sixteen minutes (E) Mikey James issues an open challenge for anyone to come out and face him in a Lucha match for the Xtreme title... and out comes the former champion (D) MATCH #2: Xtreme Title Lucha Mikey James(c) def. Flying Jimmy Foxx in sixteen minutes via pinfall (D) We announce a tag rematch for Uprising as Skye and P-Dawg get to take their titles back from The Pack (E-) MATCH #3 Rod Remus def. Frankie Perez in sixteen minutes via finisher submission (D) Afterwards, Remus warns the locker room that if you're not running with the pack... you're being hunted by them (E+) MAIN EVENT Plague def. Matt Sparrow in twenty-two minutes via finisher (D) Show rating: D-. Darn angles. At this point, I'm half-tempted to do a show in Sydney, just to see if we still get D-/D shows there. At least we're consistent. On the next Coastal Zone: As Uprising draws near and television draws nearer, will a shocking signing give the Zone some needed recognition, or is it a stunt that will fall flat on its face?

It's so crazy, it just might work? You've obviously not been reading me long. Welcome to the Coastal Zone, were crazy fails on a regular basis. SWF had gone on a signing spree, grabbing Eric Tyler, Fabulous Frank, Jez MacArthuer, and our own Matt Sparrow. We had one show left out of him, and needed a replacement, bad. Not as bad as we might have, as Masked Cougar was willing to resign for us, but still... we had to sign someone with a big name. And, well, we did. But we'd save his debut for Uprising. Or our new show, whichever came first. We were fairly sure Uprising did. CZCW Coastal Tour February 2008, week 3, Friday Live from the sold-out Snake Pit, Southwest USA With special guest commentator, Kirk Jameson (Farrah's out again) We open with Mikey James making another open challenge for his Xtreme Title. Out comes Remmy Skye, reminding everyone that he was once the King Of Xtreme, and he likes the idea of holding the Xtreme and Tag titles at the same time... so let's get to work on that. (D-) OPENING MATCH Masked Cougar draws with Snap Dragon in fifteen minutes when the ref loses control of things (D+) Fox Mask comes down and reminds people that if you're not hunting with the pack, you're being hunted by them. Out comes Matt Sparrow to say things like that just don't work in the big leagues... but then, Fox wouldn't know anything about the big leagues... (D) MATCH #2 Fox Mask def. Matt Sparrow in eighteen minutes via finisher (E+) MATCH #3 Kirk Jameson def. Insane Machine in sixteen minutes via flash rollup (D+) MAIN EVENT: Xtreme Title Ladder Match Mikey James(c) def. Remmy Skye in eighteen minutes when Fox Mask runs in and knocks Remmy off a ladder and face-first onto another ladder (D+) Afterwards, Fox gets a mic and tells Skye, "Guess who's being hunted?" (D+) Show Rating: D. Another good show brought down by a single match with bad chemistry... Next time, on the Coastal Zone: Rumors swirl around the newest signing, and Donnie J puts in an appearance to shill Uprising.

Aw, the joys of building up a backlog of simmed shows. Welcome to the Coastal Zone! It's another slow week, nothing happening beyond Sparrow leaving. CZCW Coastal Tour February 2008, week 4, Friday From the not-much-closer-to-sold-out Colorado Springs Bar, Midsouth USA We open with Mikey James making yet another open challenge... but not for tonight, for Uprising. Out comes Masked Cougar to accept the match, and to set up our Champs vs Challengers main event tonight (D-) OPENING MATCH Al Coleman def. Jackpot Jordan in thirteen minutes via pinfall (E-) Donnie J cuts a promo on Plague (D+) MATCH #2 Jeremiah Moose def. Jake Idol in thirteen minutes via finisher (F+) Jakki tells Idol to stay in the ring, and calls Jordan out. She proceeds to berate them and says that she's being wasted here, so she's bringing in a new client, one worthy of her skills. (E+) Plague cuts a promo on Donnie J (D) MATCH #3 Marc Speed draws Flying Jimmy Foxx in eighteen minutes after a double DQ (E+) MAIN EVENT Tag Plague & Masked Cougar def. Donnie J and Mikey James in twenty-three minutes, Cougar roll-up on James (D-) Show Rating: E+. Um.. ow. Luckily it was someplace that didn't really matter -- even the E+ raised our popularity. After the show, Coleman was seen sporting purple hair and a red face, and was looking for Plague. Apparently, our #1 Contender had poured hair dye into our troublemaker's shampoo. We kinda understood where he was coming from, since Al was a bit of a dick, and just told Plague not to do it again. Apparently, we didn't get the point of this 'regional war' -- despite having been the only one to put on shows in the midsouth, we still came in second to AAA. But, we got a break on our TV show -- not only did SOTBPW's show leave LDH, but with the new netowrk schedules we actually had worse shows to go up against, so our ratings might be bett... ... ... oh, CRAP. We would be competing directly with SWF Supreme TV on Canal Uno. Well, so much for hoping for good ratings. On the next Coastal Zone: CZCW Uprising! Donnie J vs Plague for the CZCW Title! The Pack vs Skye & Perez for the Tag Titles! Mikey James vs Masked Cougar for the Xtreme Title! Jakki's new client revealed! And more!

CZCW Uprising 2008 March 2008, week 1, Tuesday From the sold-out Snake Pit in Southwest USA We open with Ultimate Phoenix in the ring, talking up how it's criminal that he's not on the card tonight. Out comes Jakki to tell him that if he wants a match, he can face her new client. From the crowd comes a massive man who kills Phoenix with a massive chairshot, then stands by Jakki's side. Yes, folks, the newest member of the Coastal Zone is... The Big Problem. And he'll see Phoenix later tonight. (D-) OPENING MATCH: Tag Al Coleman & Snap Dragon def. Rich and Famous via pinfall in thirteen minutes (E) Donnie J cuts a promo on Plague (D+) MATCH #2 Kirk Jameson def. Mark Speed in 11 minutes via pinfall (E+) The Pack cuts a promo on their challengers (D-) MATCH #3: Tag Titles The Pack(c) def. Skye & Perez in sixteen minutes via Fox Hunter on Skye (D) Plague cuts a promo on Donnie J (D-) MATCH #4 The Big Problem def. Ultimate Phoenix in twelve minutes via Chokeslam (D) Mikey James hypes his Xtreme Title match (E) MATCH #5: Xtreme Ladder Match Mikey James(c) def. Masked Cougar in sixteen minutes (D-) Main Event Hype Video (D-) MAIN EVENT: CZCW Championship Plague def. Donnie J (c) in nineteen minutes via New Jersey Turnpick (C-) Show Rating: D Well, it was the best match we'd had in a few months in the main event, and The Big Problem didn't suck... but Kirk and Mark turned out to be a dissapointment, as did the opening tag. Well... it could be worse. On the next Coastal Zone: The begining of the TV Era. And yes, we hired The Big Problem. What were we thinking?

The people who wrote 'Meet The Spartans' get tens of thousands of dollars for writing, and we get the occasional reply saying "Glad you're back!". Life ain't ****ing fair. Welcome to the Coastal Zone! The rest of the week was uneventful , except for a small reality ripple that involved Him destroying the wrestling industry by dropping every comp any down to Local and my invoking the divine power of belief of every restling fan in the world to banish him and rewind time back to Uprising... but that's not that important. What is important is the taping of our first TV show! CZCW The Coastal Zone March 2008, Week 1, Friday Recorded at the sold-out Snake Pit We open with Donnie J, demanding his rematch and claiming Plague can't beat him twice (D) OPENING MATCH Kirk Jameson def. Remmy Skye in ten minutes via pinfall (D-) MACH #2: Tag Titles The Pack (c) def. Bittersweet Inc (Insane Machine & Al Coleman) in ten minutes, Remus Clutch on Machine (E+) Plague shows up with the CZCW Title, telling Donnie he only gets one rematch, and he doesn't care when it gets used... but he gets to pick the stips, so better go grab a ladder... (D) MATCH #3 The Big Problem def. Frankie Perez in six minutes via finisher (D-) MAIN EVENT: CZCW Championship Ladder Match Plague(c) def. Donnie J in twelve minutes (D+) Afterwards, Jakki comes out and applauds Plague... and she knows that, normally, Ultimate Phoenix would be getting the next shot at the title, but she feels that the man who beat Phoenix deserves a shot at Spring Break Bash... and in just a few weeks, Plague is going to find that he's got... a Big Problem. (D) Show Rating: D- Next time, on the Coastal Zone: A week until the show airs; what will the ratings be like? And can we possibly be planning on putting Problem into the title picture right away?
