CGC Elimination Held at Kamloops Royal Athletic Park British Columbia, Canada Friday Week 3 January 2008 Att: 15,000 SOLD OUT! Available on Canada-1 Choice PPV Dark Match: Whippy The Clown, Grimm Quibble, Christian Price and Philippe LaGrenier defeated Nathan Black, Jesse Gilbert, Joe Gilbert and Zeus Maxmillion in 5:19 when Whippy The Clown defeated Joe Gilbert by pinfall with a Joke's On You. Match Rating D- A rest of the roster match with the most experienced wrestler Whippy getting the victory for his team. The crowd used this time to get refreshments, which showed that it definitely wasn't ppv worthy. Main Show: The main show opens with Canadian Champion Trent Shaffer backstage talking quietly with Roger Rogers. The conversation is too quiet for the crowd to overhear, but they see Shaffer shake hands with Rogers and walk away with a satisfied smile on his face, so apparently some kind of a deal was struck. Rating D+ Setting up something for later. Trent Shaffer is now being interviewed backstage and proclaims he is going to finally retire that fossil Ed Monton and place his broken carcass in the museum where it belongs. Shaffer then states that the sold out crowd tonight and all of Canada watching on PPV are privileged to witness the most charismatic and exciting wrestler they have ever seen when he goes out to the ring tonight and proves he is a real champion and the future of this industry! Rating C Shaffer definitely has the "it" factor, and if he can get his in ring ability to match his skill outside, he can be a major star. Trent Shaffer defeated Ed Monton in 7:37 by pinfall with a Heart Burn following interference from Fate. During the match we also had Destiny run in and attack Ed Monton. Trent Shaffer makes defence number 2 of his CGC Canadian title. Match Rating D+ The results of Shaffer's earlier deal with Roger Rogers are shown as the Soldiers of Fortune make their presence felt in the match, causing a fatal distraction just as it looked like Monton was going to get the win. This allowed Shaffer to rally and deliver the Heart Burn to drop Monton, get the pin and defend the Canadian title. Shaffer gets a big win over an established name, while Monton can blame the interference of the Soldiers of Fortune on his loss. This also sets up the SOF as a mercenary tag team. After the match, the Soldiers of Fortune join the victorious Trent Shaffer in a 3 on 1 beatdown of Ed Monton and then Shaffer finally tosses the bloody and battered veteran out of the ring while arrogantly parading around the ring like he is the second coming. Rating D Continuing to build Shaffers c0cky persona while setting the stage to continue the storyline. Jenny Playmate is backstage with her team of Youth Energy and they claim that tonight the tag titles are going to come back to Youth Energy after they defeat the Specialists. Rating D Some minor build for the tag team title match, as it didn't get any during the past couple of tv shows. Adrian Garcia delivers his own promo for the tag champions The Specialists and states that since they are members of the Elite, no one will be able to take the belts away from them, not even those two pretty boys Youth Energy. Rating D Continuing the buildup for the tag title match. The Specialists defeated Youth Energy in 7:39 when Bobby Thomas defeated Lee Rivera by pinfall with a handful of tights. The Specialists make defence number 1 of their CGC World Tag Team titles. Match Rating D+ Fairly bland affair as Rivera wasn't at his best tonight. Both members of the Specialists are obviously benefitting from their association with the rest of the Elite as their ring work is showing improvement. An vengeful Jack DeColt is being interviewed backstage and he swears he will take Eric Tyler apart for daring to lay his hands on his fiance Hotstuff Marie. DeColt states that the moment Tyler struck Marie was the moment he signed his own death warrant, and that DeColt will carry out Tyler's execution tonight in the ring! Rating B- Good emotion and intensity from Jack and this is the kind of hype I was hoping for from this storyline, despite the riskiness of it. Eric Tyler is shown backstage watching Jack DeColt's comments on a monitor and comtempuously laughs off DeColt's threats. He states he will treat DeColt the same way he treated his tramp of a girlfriend and leave him laid out in the ring as well! Rating C Not quite as good as Jack's promo, but still builds heat for their showdown. As Eric Tyler continues to laugh off the threats of Jack DeColt, suddenly Jack appears from around the corner and attacks Tyler savagely. He lays into Tyler with a vengeful fury and the two men tear up the backstage area brawling until officials finally separate them with DeColt still swearing revenge and Tyler insulting DeColt's manhood. Rating C+ Setting up the personal nature of the feud before their match later. Ryan Powell defeated David Mack in 11:23 by pinfall. Match Rating C Cooling things off a little with a decent match as I put over Powell to let him regain some momentum. A video plays showing the clips from the past weeks involving Eric Tyler and Hotstuff Marie, replaying the incident where Tyler leveled Marie with an elbow shot. Then the video recaps the previous interaction tonight between Tyler and Jack DeColt. Rating B Solid video package that really hypes up their upcoming match. Jack DeColt defeated Eric Tyler in 12:38 by submission with an End Of Days. Match Rating C+ DeColt controls the match early as his fury drives him on the offense after Tyler. But Tyler is an accomplished and savvy veteran and weathers the storm, then takes control with several veteran, underhanded moves. Tyler works over DeColt, stifling Jack's occasional rallies as he ties him up on the mat with several painful holds. About ten minutes into the match Hotstuff Marie comes down to the ring, and the moral support is enough to give Jack a second wind and he rallies back one more time and takes control, delivering a series of clotheslines, dropkicks and suplexes on Tyler. With Tyler reeling, DeColt scoop slams him and then locks on the End of Days in the middle of the ring. Unable to reach the ropes, Tyler has no choice but to tap out. Starts with a bang, ends with a whimper. Chemistry, that elusive element that some people have and some don't. It's almost like there is some random, hidden, 'destiny stat' controlling these things. But whatever freak thing determines it, Tyler and DeColt just didn't have it. Their overall competence made this a decent match, but the build and intensity should have delivered much better than it did, as minor little things just detracted from the quality. I had thought about continuing with this story a little farther, but it doesn't look like the payoff will be worth the investment. Alex DeColt is backstage and says that even though his brother Ricky will get payback for Eddie Chandler's attack on their father, it doesn't mean that the rest of the Elite aren't also going to pay the price as well. Alex says when you attack one DeColt, you attack them all. This time, the DeColts are going to eliminate the Elite from CGC once and for all. They wanted a war, and now they are going to get one, starting with Alex taking out Sean Deeley tonight! Rating B+ If Alex was feeling any bitterness about being replaced as head booker, he was covering it up well as he delivered a money promo tonight and injected some energy into the crowd. Alex DeColt defeated Shooter Sean Deeley in 9:36 by pinfall with a DeColt Driver. Match Rating D+ DeColt was strong throughout the match as Deeley was never in control long enough to make his greater mat skills effective. DeColt finally finishes things off with the DeColt Driver and round one goes to the DeColts. And Strike two!! The second straight match where the quality didn't live up to the participants. I wasn't expecting a lot from this match as I was cooling things off a little before the main event, but this was still under the subplot of the DeColt-Elite war and should have been better than this. Once again that random, unpredictable, and so far completely wrecking my show, bad chemistry rears it's ugly head as this came off as a very pedestrian match and another potential feud is aborted before it begins. Steve DeColt says it is now his turn to deal with the Elite as he gets the pleasure of beating the hell out of Dan DaLay. Steve states Elite made a major mistake attacking their father and they are going to suffer the consequences of their actions! Rating B At least I can depend on the legendary DeColt charisma and popularity as Steve also delivers another solid promo that gets a good pop from the crowd. Steve DeColt drew with Dan DaLay in 17:48 following a double count out. Match Rating B Steve doesn't have as easy a time as his brother Alex did as DaLay proves to be a much tougher opponent. Both men are very familiar with each other and very evenly matched. Momentum swings back and forth between Steve and DaLay as neither one can gain a lasting advantage. This continues for over 15 minutes until the fight finally spills to the outside of the ring. Both men are so engrossed in pummeling each other, neither one pays attention to the referee's count and the referee reaches 10, counting out both men. The fight ends in a draw, as both men keep trading blows. Finally, a match that lives up to the hype. If the main event doesn't disappoint, we may be able to save this show yet. The crowd was really pumped after this match. George DeColt is back in the lockeroom with the World Champion, his son Ricky DeColt. He tells Ricky that he believes in him and he knows that he will go out there and uphold the honor and heritage of the DeColt family name and teach Eddie Chandler a lesson not to mess with the DeColts! Rating C+ Decent promo, with the patriarch delivering a strong pep talk for the youngest DeColt. Ricky's only drawback right now is that, despite his undeniable charisma and being world champion, he just hasn't built the same level of popularity as the other brothers have, so his pop from the crowds isn't quite at the same level. Eddie Chandler confidently boasts about how all of his plans have come together, and about how he is going to destroy the so called 'DeColt' legacy and regain the CGC World Championship. Chandler states if he knew that all he had to do to get that runt Ricky back in the ring was to beat up his old man, Chandler would have done it months ago. But he won't let the opportunity go to waste tonight as he will give the whelp the same treatment he gave his father, a spinal adjustment courtesy of the Fabulous Stretch! Rating B+ Chandler once again demonstrates why he is the top heel in the company now as he gets a tremendous heel reaction from the crowd. Eddie Chandler defeated Ricky DeColt in 17:46 by submission with a Fabulous Stretch. Eddie Chandler wins the CGC World title. Match Rating C+ DeColt starts the match like a house on fire, using his greater quickness to keep Chandler off balance with a series of darting strikes and a combination of dropkicks and hurricanranas. He gets a couple of quick pin attempts, but Chandler kicks out by the two count. But Chandler regains control as he swipes away another dropkick attempt by the youngest DeColt and then proceeds to try and ground the lightning quick cruiserweight with a sustained offense targeting the Champion's lower back. Ricky tries to rally back and gets some momentum going a couple of times, but the veteran Chandler capitalizes quickly on any mistake DeColt makes and continues working over the lower back of his opponent, clearly setting up his submission finisher. Chandler locks in the hold, but it is a bit premature as DeColt is able to get to the ropes and break the hold. DeColt summons some intestional fortitude and manages to go back on the offensive again, staggering the challenger. After slamming Chandler in the corner, DeColt climbs up to the top rope to deliver the DeColt .45 and try and finish the match. But he winces momentarily from the pain in his worked over back, and that hesitation allows Chandler to roll out of the way of Ricky's high risk manuever, leaving the champion to crash to the mat. Chandler rolls DeColt to the center of the ring, applies the Fabulous Stretch once again, and this time DeColt has to tap. Eddie Chandler regains the CGC World Championship! Although I hoped for better, this is pretty much what I expected out of Ricky at this point, and thus the main reason why I fought with both George and Alex so hard in the booking meetings to move the belt back to Chandler. I pointed out we had more top level faces than heels, so Ricky's selection of quality opponents was slim, and if they really wanted him to sustain his momentum, it would be better in the long run for him to drop the belt and then roll up a streak of wins over some strong midcarders, as no one would buy him being a dominant world champion at this time in his career. Finally, they saw things my way, and allowed me to pull the trigger on the title switch. I win the first battle of wills, but it may be a pyrrhic victory if I can't produce some solid shows and close the gap on NOTBPW. After his win, the rest of Elite join Eddie Chandler in the ring as they celebrate his regaining the World title and their victory tonight over their bitter foes, the DeColts. Elite now control 2 of the three titles and have made a strong claim to being the dominant force in CGC. Chandler parades around the ring with his newly won belt to a loud accompiament of boos from the sold out crowd. Rating B+ Judging by the heel heat that Chandler got at the end of the show, this was definitely the right decision as there is a wealth of potential storylines and feuds available now with Chandler once again the World Champion. Overall Show B- PPV Buyrate 0.28 After the disaster of the Tyler-Jack DeColt and Deeley-Alex DeColt matches, and an only average main event, the feedback for the show was less than I had originally hoped for, but better than I expected. At least we made some strides towards improving things in the future, as well as discovered some potential pitfalls before they came back to bite us too bad. All in all though, I have to say that booking NYCW is far easier than this. Reviews the next day said it was overall a great show, so at least the fans seem to have got their money's worth. Now all I had to do was build on this, and continue to work towards bringing in that 100K+ a month average profit so I could keep my position.

Match Rating D Powell picks up a squash win while I continue to give the youngsters with potential some work in the ring. David Mack and Youth Energy defeated Nathan Black, Philippe LaGrenier and Zeus Maxmillion in 5:30 when David Mack defeated Nathan Black by pinfall with a Future Shock. Match Rating D+ Rebuilding momentum for some of the PPV losers while trying to fulfill Mr DeColt's current emphasis on improving the ring psychology of some of our workers. Main Show: The three main Elite members, Eddie Chandler, Dan DaLay, and Sean Deeley are in the ring as Chandler proudly displays his newly won World title. Chandler proclaims that the despotism of the DeColts is at an end and the era of the Elite has begun! Chandler states they now control two of the three titles, and will add the other one eventually. They say nothing can stand in their way, especially not the DeColts! Rating C Decent heel pop from the crowd although Chandler is the only one of the three that can really work an audience well. Deeley especially is awkward at these kinds of segments, but he is only 21 and can use these opportunities to learn. At that moment, the former champion Ricky DeColt comes out, interrupting the Elite's self aggrandizing monologue. He tells Chandler that he wants a rematch and he wants it tonight! Rating C Continuing the storyline from the PPV. Ricky gets a decent pop from the audience, but still not the same level as his brothers, which is why he isn't the world champion anymore. Eddie Chandler declines Ricky DeColt's challenge, saying that Ricky isn't worth his time. But Sean Deeley is looking for another opportunity to kick the hell out of a DeColt, so he will be more than happy to face Ricky in the ring right now! Rating B+ Once again, Chandler demonstrates why he is the top heel in the company as he gets excellent heel heat from the crowd. Ricky DeColt defeated Shooter Sean Deeley in 9:43 by pinfall with a DeColt 45. Match Rating C+ Good match for tv as DeColt gets back some momentum with a good win over Deeley. Thus begins my efforts to follow the directives of Mr DeColt and keep Ricky's momentum at a high level. Solid wins like this are what he needs to build up his skills and his popularity to a level to where when he challenges for the World title again, he will have legitimately earned it. DeColt also picks up some pointers from the former amateur champion wrestler Deeley and starts to add to his ring repetoire. After Ricky DeColt's win, the other members of the Elite ambush him from behind, and all three of them begin beating up Ricky. But before they can do any serious damage, Ricky's brothers Alex and Steve rush to the ring with steel chairs and the Elite quickly bail out of the ring. Alex grabs a mike and says this isn't over and that the commisioner has made a match for later tonight where DaLay and Chandler will face off against Alex and Steve! Rating B- Continuing the DeColt-Elite war and setting up the main event for tonight. The crowd popped big for the match announcement. Ed Monton is backstage and says that since the Soldiers of Fortune decided to get involved in his match, he got himself a partner and tonight they are going to kick the SOF's butts! Rating D- Not much of a segment as Monton isn't a good talker, but it served its purpose of continuing the storyline. Ed Monton is joined by his partner for tonight and the cameras reveal the partner is Whippy the Clown. Rating D- Again not an overwhelming segment, but does set up the next match and also serves a storyline purpose. Roger Rogers comes out with his Soldiers of Fortune team. He says that they are the most decorated tag team in CGC history and that their services are available to the highest bidder. The SOF are here to solve the problems of other wrestlers, for a price. Rogers tells Monton that it was nothing personal, just business, but if he wants another sample of the SOF's services, they are more than happy to beat the hell out of him and any unfortunate partner of his again. Rating D- Setting up the SOF's gimmick as mercenaries for hire. Whippy The Clown and Ed Monton defeated The Soldiers Of Fortune in 5:55 when Ed Monton defeated Fate by pinfall with a Fallaway Slam. Match Rating D- Monton gets some revenge by getting the victory, but this was a less than impressive match as Monton was really off his game tonight. The match killed some of the crowd's buzz from the previous segments with the Elite and the DeColts, but hopefully the main event will perk things up again. Steve and Alex DeColt are backstage and say that the Elite are sadly mistaken if they think that the DeColts are going to just standby and let them run roughshod in CGC. Tonight, Chandler and DaLay are going to get a taste of their own medicine when Steve and Alex beat the crap out of them. Rating B- This livens the crowd back up as the trademark DeColt charisma gets things back on track. Steve & Alex DeColt defeated Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay in 10:52 when Dan DaLay was disqualified while fighting Steve DeColt. Match Rating B- Both teams are fairly even and the fighting goes back and forth. Given the bad blood between them, this is more of a brawl than a wrestling match, but the intensity of both teams keeps the crowd into the match. After about 10 minutes of back and forth action, Chandler tosses in the belt to DaLay while their manager Adrian Garcia tries to distract the referee. DaLay clobbers Steve DeColt with the belt, but the referee turned around in time to see it and Dq's the Elite team. Now this is more what I expect out of this feud as this was an excellent tv main event and helps set up the next chapter in the ongoing DeColt-Elite war. Overall Show C+ TV Rating 0.46 The middle part of the show dragged things down, but this was still better than the first two weeks and things are starting to fall into place, at least with the main storyline. We are still .19 behind NOTBPW but we narrowed the gap a little from the week before. This still isn't good enough to take us to the next level, but it is a step in the right direction.
And here I expected David Mack to show up with a bang and a superpush! Of course, that would've looked a little novice, so I was a fool, a FOOL, to ever expect such from the legendary Dragonmack! Now, about jobbing out Tyler...
Losing to one of the Elder DeColt brothers, after he has already beat up both him and his woman is hardly jobbing. ;) Now if bad chemistry and the ever present possibility of SWF swooping in hadn't reared it's ugly head this storyline would have continued farther. Besides, if I can job, so can Tyler! :p

Rating C+ Since my planned feud between Tyler and Jack DeColt hit a snag, it is time to figure out something else for him to do. Judging by the crowd response it is. The newcomer David Mack comes out of the back and says he will take on the crafty veteran Eric Tyler. Rating C This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up as a wrestler, as I might never get another opportunity to wrestle Tyler again. A guy I know who booked for DAVE back before it collapsed, due to some screwball billionare coming in and f'ing everything up. Well anyway this guy Jack, although everyone called him 'Monkeypox' for some strange assed reason, had mentioned bringing me in for some angle he had going with the Cult of the Gray Dragon, but everything went to hell in DAVE soon after so nothing ever came of it. So this is a chance to regain that lost opportunity to face one of the big names from my stomping yards of the Tri-State. Ironically of course, I learned later that Tyler had actually engineered a revival of DAVE, by forcing this jerkwad billionare to sell at a major loss. Here's hoping he can make it fly again. Surprisingly, I got a decent reaction from the crowd, despite still being something of an unknown quanity. Eric Tyler defeated David Mack in 7:55 by submission with a Tradition lift. Match Rating C Back in the Tri-State area, this might have gotten a better reaction from the crowd, as both of us had a bigger fanbase there. But here in the Great White North, it was just a good tv show opening match, despite my efforts to make it an exciting one. Tyler gets the win to stay strong, as putting myself over isn't in the best interests of the promotion right now, unlike in NYCW, where the current talent pool is a lot shallower. ooc note: There Monkeypox! Happy now?! :p Jack DeColt is standing with his fiancee Hotstuff Marie and they are watching the previous match on a monitor backstage. Match Rating D+ Once again, Shaffer steals the match from Monton, and once again the match was fairly average. But it served the purpose of having Monton put over Shaffer again, while setting up the next stage in this storyline. As Ed Monton is remonstrating with the referee, claiming that Shaffer pulled his tights, Trent Shaffer takes advantage of this opportunity to level Monton with a vicious shot to the back of his head with Shaffer's title belt. Shaffer proceeds to attack Monton further, but a green haired figure comes racing out of the back and Whippy the Clown goes after the Canadian Champion, only he doesn't seem to be in a laughing mood. The clown faced Whippy looks deadly serious as he stands protectively over the dazed Monton and yells at Shaffer to come and face him! Shaffer yells a few choice insults back at Whippy, and then walks up the entranceway to the back. Rating D Building towards the next PPV, Luck of the Draw, in February. The two longest active members of the Elite, Dan DaLay, and current CGC World Champion Eddie Chandler, state that tonight will once again show everyone in Canada the pre-eminent truth in CGC. That the DeColt's are a fading memory, and that the Elite stand atop the wrestling world as truly the best that this industry has to offer! Rating B- Building towards tonight's main event as the crowd gives the two Elite leaders a suitably loud response of boos, (mostly due to Chandler as he is far better at working a crowd than DaLay is.) Their opponents for the night, Jack and Alex DeColt respond that even though the Elite hold the World belt now, they won't hold it for long as any one of the DeColt's can beat Chandler just as soon as he gets the guts to face one of them in the ring and defend it. But as for tonight, they still haven't forgotten or forgiven Chandler laying his hands on their father, and they welcome any opportunity to even the score with the Elite! Rating B Biggest pop of the night from the crowd as Jack and Alex easily pump up the crowd before the main event. Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay defeated Jack & Alex DeColt in 9:58 when Eddie Chandler defeated Jack DeColt by submission with a Fabulous Stretch. Match Rating B- As usual, both sides were evenly matched, and neither could gain a clear advantage until Jack made a rare, but in this case fatal, error. He had just taken the tag from his brother Alex, and was taking care of both Chandler and DaLay when he went to whip Chandler off the ropes to deliver a clothesline with some extra impact. But Jack got a little overconfident, and Chandler reversed the Irish Whip, sending Jack flying into the corner and right into his brother Alex, knocking Alex to the floor! That was enough to distract Jack long enough for Chandler to slam DeColt on his head with a belly to back suplex, and then lock in the Fabulous Stretch in the middle of the ring! DaLay prevented Alex from making the save, while Chandler kept grinding the painful hold in even more, and eventually Jack had to tap out. Jack wasn't thrilled with having to take the loss, but I told him in order to keep this storyline building momentum and continuing to keep the fans tuned in, both sides needed to come away with their share of wins, and Chandler and DaLay had already done the job last week. I kept him mollified by reminding him he had his own storyline working and he would get plenty of opportunity in the future to play the conquering hero. As for the match itself, it was another excellent tv main event that kept things stirring between the DeColts and the Elite. Overall Show C+ TV Rating 0.41 Once again, better than my first couple of weeks, but still barely treading water popularity wise. I only hope that Mr DeColt realizes that this isn't going to be a quick fix, and that it will take time to get us to where he wants to be. As for the ratings, they did take a dip, but that wasn't too unexpected given that it is playoff time in football, and everyone was watching to see if the Patriots undefeated streak would continue through to the Superbowl. NOTBPW's ratings dipped down a couple of percentage points as well, although they still maintained their lead over us.

Well my first month here was an experience to say the least! In NYCW, all I needed to do was convince Stomper to peek out of the stone age of wrestling a little, and add a couple of people who could actually wrestle in the ring, and growth was almost automatic. Here, where CGC is already at a size it would probably take me 7 years to get NYCW to if everything went well, changes don't show such an immediate effect. At least the financials came back for the month at over 250K, which is 10% of the increase Mr DeColt tasked me for as my first priority. If we can maintain that rate of profit, I will hit his benchmark in half the time he allotted/ So that is a weight off my mind, but, even though no one has explicitly said anything, in the back of my head I know the DeColts true goal is to surpass NOTBPW and become the #1 company in Canada. So if I can't get us at least narrowing the gap in the near future, I seriously doubt I will have a long career as head booker here. But all in all, it wasn't a bad first month. Now to take a look at what is happening elsewhere in the wrestling world as who knows what minor thing somewhere else could end up affecting us somewhere down the road. The news for January 2008 was News:

Japan remains a hotbed of wrestling as both GCG and WLW expand and are now considered Cult level promotions.
ROF make a strange choice for head booker as British Samurai brings in Harley Neill aka MOSC's the Juicer as his new booker. I'm guessing he is trying to cement his alliance with MOSC in an effort to combat the growing expansion of 21CW in England and maintain the viability of his promotion.
A couple of well known Super Juniors are on the shelf for a while as Acid broke his tailbone and will miss a month, and Hell Monkey ruptured his spleen and will miss 2 1/2 months for BHOTWG.
In CZCW, fellow newcomers Mikey James and The American Flash have bonded as James has taken the rookie under his wing.
FCW sees some backstage tension as Amo del Gato has issues with Bradford Peverall.
All is not well in AAA as Black Widow and Gorgon are no longer on speaking terms. But on the other end Grace Harper has spoken well of Kristabel Plum
Tempers flared in RIPW as Bear Bekowski blew up at Hannah Potter for an unspecified reason. Looking over the past few shows, I'd say one of the biggest disappointments for you so far, has been Shooter Sean Deeley. He's supposedly a key member of the Elite stable, but he's been struggling to get match ratings in the C range. Mind you , he's always seemed more suitable to NOTBPW in my opinion, and I weren't surprised when the rival Canadian fed always seemed to sign him away in 07. As for this bit of news: 'Jelly Belly' Tank Bradley wins the PSW National title from the now departed Steven Parker. Are PSW really that desperate ?

His performance and technical skills are all B or better, but his entertainment is D across the board, as is his popularity. And CGC's product is heavy towards popularity, which is why the DeColts always do well. I am slowly getting his popularity up, but being the defacto Elite job boy for the DeColts doesn't help him much. And yes , PSW IS that desperate! :D The only wrestler on their roster I would want, now that Steven Parker is gone, is JD Morgan, who I would have given the title to.

Alex says it won't matter which one of those rat bastards accepts as he will kick the living hell out of them! Rating B+ Alex opens the show in strong fashion with a challenge that gets the fans attention. So far, he has been very cooperative and supportive of me in the booking meetings, but then he may just be waiting for me to fall on my ass in this job and figures he doesn't need to push things along. More likely though, I am still uneasy being around the guy who's job I took, especially when that guy is the boss's son. A video plays showing the finish of the Trent Shaffer- Ed Monton match, Shaffer's attack on Monton, and the subsequent save by Whippy the Clown. The announcers then say that Whippy and the Canadian Champion Shaffer will meet each other in the ring next in a tag team match. Shaffer says it doesn't matter who Whippy gets as a partner tonight, because not even God himself will stop that green haired freak from getting his face beaten black and blue. Again, seemingly pointless, but I am slowly building towards something. The action returns to the arena and once again Eric Tyler is standing in the ring and says " Now isn't that a touching sight? Two little lovebirds having dinner together. I can't think of a more evenly matched couple, he is a complete peckerhead, and she is a total c*bleep* ! Those pathetic losers deserve each other! Now, on to something that really matters. Once again, I am looking for somebody to offer me a real challenge! All those supposedly 'hardcore' wussies in DAVE won't give me a real fight because they are afraid to challenge the 'boss' but that shouldn't be a problem here. So which one of you moose shagging mama boy's has the stones to come out here and get your ass kicked man to man?!" Rating C Thank god for time delay as Tyler almost caused us a serious issue with the Canadian censors. Hopefully the match will be too. Eric Tyler defeated Ed Monton in 5:52 by submission with a Tradition lift. DaLay says that the DeColts and Alex in particular are just too stubborn and too stupid to know when they are finished, so he will have to physically beat the fact into Alex's head that the DeColt's are done as the dominant power in CGC, and that the Elite are in charge now! Rating B- Despite not having the best mike skills, DaLay's long standing in CGC earns him a good amount of heel heat from the crowd. Alex DeColt comes out from the back with a mike and says " DaLay, you are mistaken about two things. One, just because your crony Chandler holds the belt right now doesn't mean that the DeColts are history. In fact we are here, united and stronger than ever and it is only a matter of time till one of us takes that title off of Chandler and we send you and your group packing! And second, granted I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but compared to you DaLay, I am a MENSA member! And I am going to pound my fists through that rock filled skull of yours and teach you the most basic lesson of CGC. DON'T MESS WITH THE DECOLTS!!!" Rating B- Another good reaction, this time a positive one for the popular Alex as the crowd gets the pumped for the main event. Alex DeColt defeated Dan DaLay in 9:46 by Disqualification. During the match we also had Eddie Chandler run in and attack Alex DeColt. Match Rating B A lot of emotion and intensity, both from the long history between these two, and the renewed bad blood between the two major factions in CGC, is displayed by both men in the ring as this was a no quarter given all out brawl from the moment the bell rang. After about 10 minutes of total brutality, Alex was setting DaLay up for the DeColt Driver, when the CGC World Champion, Eddie Chandler rushed down to the ring and nailed Alex in the back of the head with the championship belt. The referee immediately rang for the bell and disqualified DaLay. But the busted open Alex wasn't feeling like a winner as both DaLay and Chandler started laying the boots to him. An excellent main event and probably one of the best matches of my short tenure here as the DeColt-Elite war is still the hottest storyline we have going. The crowd was on their feet throughout most of the match as this was a very exciting match. Alex DeColt is getting stomped in the ring by both Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay when Steve DeColt bursts out of the back with a steel chair in hand. He crashes the chair over Dan DaLay's back, sending him scurrying from the ring, and then takes a wild swing at the Champion Chandler. Chandler ducks the blow, but decides discretion is the better part of valor and vacates the ring as well. He joins DaLay, who is still rubbing his back in pain, and throws some taunts back to Steve, who lifts his brother up. Steve then yells at Chandler that he is coming for both the belt and him! Chandler sneers at Steve DeColt and then backs up the ramp as the show ends. Rating B A good close to the show as the last 20 minutes were some of the best we have had on tv so far. We begin building towards the PPV in a couple of weeks as we start setting up the main event. Overall Show B- TV Rating 0.53 Our best tv show yet as the main event and the events surrounding it carried the show. Now this is the kind of thing we can build some momentum off of. I only hope we can keep it going. Feedback agreed that it was a great show, and the ratings jumped to our highest ever in my short time here. Of particularly good note was also the fact that we cut NOTBPW lead on us in the rating down to a tenth of a point, which I know will make Mr DeColt happy.

Powell says Ricky wouldn't last five minutes in the ring with somebody who wouldn't roll over just because Ricky's last name was DeColt. Ricky then gets in Powell's face and says nobody handed him anything in this company. He had to work twice as hard as anyone else because he had to live up to the family name. Ricky then asks his father to make a match between him and Powell for Luck of the Draw and tells Powell that he will show him and the world that he is a true wrestler and doesn't need his father's name to win matches! Rating C Setting up another match for the PPV and showing some character for Ricky as someone trying to emerge out of his brothers and father's shadow. Eric Tyler comes out to the ring again and claims that week after week he is out here looking for some real competition, and week after week some needlepeckered pantywaist comes out to get his ass handed to him in no time flat. And no one, especially no DeColt is going to take this World title away from me!" Rating C+ Once again Eddie does most of the speaking as he carried this segment for the group. Eddie Chandler's boasts are quickly answered as Alex, Steve and Jack DeColt step out from the back. Alex states that Steve will bring the World title back to the DeColt family at Luck of the Draw. Jack chimes in with the fact that Elite isn't going to get off lightly tonite either as they are going to kick some Elite butt all over the Varsity Arena! Steve then glares at Chandler and tells him to enjoy wearing that belt while he can, because he won't be holding it long! With that, the three DeColt brothers rush the ring and the six man match begins. Rating B- The DeColt brothers get the pop of the night as we set up the main event and hype up the PPV main event between Eddie Chandler and Steve DeColt. Steve DeColt and Jack & Alex DeColt defeated Dan DaLay, Eddie Chandler and Shooter Sean Deeley in 7:57 when Steve DeColt defeated Shooter Sean Deeley by pinfall with a DeColt Stampede. Match Rating C+ Unsurprisingly, given the serious grudge between these two groups, there was almost total chaos in the ring right from the start. Order was finally restored and the match played out with Chandler dominating the other DeColts, but exiting the ring as soon as Steve entered. Steve on his side dominated the other Elite members, but clearly wanted to get his hands on Chandler. Once again chaos erupted with all six men in the ring. As the fighting carried outside, Steve was left alone in the ring with Deelet. A DeColt Stampede later, and Deeley was getting pinned as Steve built up some serious momentum heading into his showdown with Chandler. Not as good a main event as last week, but not surprising given all the chaos inherent in a grudge filled six man tag match. It served its purpose to showcase Steve DeColt and Eddie Chandler, and leads into the final segments that will set up the remaining matches for the PPV Just as Steve DeColt gets the win, the remaining members of the Elite, The Specialists, hit the ring and double team Steve DeColt. DaLay and Chandler prevent Steve's brothers from going to his aid, and it looks like the numbers game is favoring the Elite as both Bobby Thomas and Nate Johnson continue to inflict punishment on Steve. Rating C This sets up one of the matches at the PPV, as well as reinforces the Specialists membership in the Elite. As the other DeColts are still fighting with the rest of the Elite, The Specialists continue working over Steve DeColt when suddenly, their opponents earlier tonight, David Mack and Ed Monton, rush out of the back and even things up by attacking the Specialists. The officials futilely try and restore order as ten men are now brawling in and around the ring! Rating C- Obviously we don't get the same level of reaction the others do, but this serves the purpose of setting up the final two matches of the PPV. With complete bedlam ensuing in and around the ring, Steve DeColt tears free of the pack, sees his foe at the PPV Eddie Chandler, and immediately charges after him. The two opponents start raining blows on each other with a vengeance as the cameras fade with both mortal enemies still locked in combat. Rating B- Strong segment to close the show and add the final bit of hype for the main event at Luck of the Draw. Overall Show C+ TV Rating 0.51 The lack of a marquee type main event brought this down slightly from last weeks show, but it was still decent overall and helped to set up the PPV. Despite that we still got a rating close to last weeks and the second best of my six weeks here. That was especially satisfying as I had just finished negotiating with Maple Leaf Sports earlier in the week to extend our show. They were hesitant to work with us as they felt I was an unproven commodity. Even with the owner vouching for me, they only offered one extra season, and totally balked at giving us any of the advertising money. That was almost a dealbreaker, but Mr DeColt decided to suck it up this time and then prove to them with our ratings that we deserved a better deal next season, whether it was with Maple Leaf Sports, or someone else. NOTBPW held steady in their ratings so we were .13 behind them. But we had still cut the gap between us in half over the last two weeks, and we would see if the PPV would gain us any more ground or not.

This was put up or shut up time again. The tv shows had been gradually getting better, and our ratings had bumped up as well. But the last ratings from NOTBPW's tv show indicated they had also made a significant jump in viewership as well as the Stones are every bit as popular in Canada as the DeColts are. So the PPV needed to deliver to keep our growth continuing as well. After having to abort one of the planned storylines last month due to some chemistry issues, we have created a couple of new storylines and switched the main combatants in a couple of others to give us some variety, and hopefully a bigger marquee match-up in Steve DeColt vs Eddie Chandler. So, after a full build up, and after a lot of debate with the booking staff, especially Alex, the lineup for CGC Luck of the Draw is as follows... Whippy the Clown vs Trent Shaffer (c) for the CGC Canadian Championship Having gotten involved after saving the veteran Ed Monton from another assault by Shaffer, Whippy has abandoned his usual clownish antics for a serious attempt at winning the Canadian Championship and shutting up the arrogant Shaffer. The Canadian champions certainly doesn't suffer from a lack of confidence, and easily predicts he will beat Whippy and send him back to the circus. But will that overconfidence spell his undoing? When the dust is settled, who will have the last laugh and the belt? Ed Monton vs Shooter Sean Deeley After helping to save the DeColts from an attack from the entire Elite group, they have decided to make an example out of Monton as a warning to others on the roster to not interfere in the Elite's business and they have sent their resident submission expert to carry out the job. Deeley is an undisputed master of a variety of painful holds and can force anybody to tap, but his opponent has more years of experience than Deeley has years period. Can the Shooter successfully deliver the Elite's warning, or will the veteran Monton prove to be more than he can handle? Jack & Alex DeColt vs The Specialists (c) for the CGC World Tag Team Champions After the Specialists decided to join the rest of the Elite in their war against the DeColts, the DeColts decided it is time to send their own message, by hurting the Elite where it will hurt most, in the championship department. They plan to take the tag titles away from the Specialists and then destroy them as a lesson to the senior Elite members. But the Specialists aren't in the Elite by accident. They are already one of the most accomplished tag teams in CGC history, and alliance with the Elite has only sharpened their edge. And a victory over two of the promotions beloved scions would not only cement their place in the Elite, but also in CGC history as possibly the greatest tag team ever. David Mack vs Dan DaLay The other man who helped to save the DeColts last week is also on the Elite hitlist and they have sent the rough and tumble brawler DaLay to welcome the newcomer properly to CGC and teach him to stay out of their business. But the young David Mack is still something of an unknown in CGC, and has taken tough competitors like Eric Tyler and Ryan Powell to the limit already. Can he defeat DaLay and show he belongs among the cream of CGC , or will he also be taught a lesson in manners at the hands of the Elite? Ricky DeColt vs Ryan Powell Two young men and future banner carriers of CGC clash here as Powell believes that DeColt has had everything handed to him on a silver platter, while Powell has had to grind and claw his way up the rankings. DeColt is just as eager to prove that he has earned his place in the spotlight and soundly defeating a rising star like Powell will establish him as a genuine threat, and not just a protected prima donna. Powell on the other hand, knows any time that you can add a DeColt family member to your list of opponents defeated, you almost automatically climb a little higher up the ladder. Who will emerge on top in the battle of the Prince vs the Pauper? Steve DeColt vs Eddie Chandler (c) The long running feud between the DeColts and the Elite has become an all out war for control in CGC and Steve DeColt has taken up the family's banner and try and regain the CGC World title from the defacto leader of the Elite, Eddie Chandler. Chandler has shown he will stop at nothing to stay World Champion and has the skill to backup his desire, but unlike with his opponent last month, Chandler will have no advantages in the ring in either experience or skill over his opponent Steve, a former 3 time World Champion already. With the physical part of this matchup a dead heat, it will come down to who has the greater mental edge and will to succeed. A revenge and honor driven Steve DeColt or a manic and power hungry Eddie Chandler? Which one will walk out of the arena as the CGC World Champion? Whippy the Clown vs Trent Shaffer (c) for the CGC Canadian Championship Ed Monton vs Shooter Sean Deeley Jack & Alex DeColt vs The Specialists (c) for the CGC World Tag Team Champions David Mack vs Dan DaLay Ricky DeColt vs Ryan Powell Steve DeColt vs Eddie Chandler (c)

Whippy the Clown vs Trent Shaffer (c) for the CGC Canadian Championship Shaffer seems to be doing okay and I'm not a clown fan. Ed Monton vs Shooter Sean Deeley Monton is just the type of opponent Deeley needs to score a victory after being used as Elite's weakest link for a bit. Jack & Alex DeColt vs The Specialists (c) for the CGC World Tag Team Champions It'll be a screwy finish so they don't win the belts, but I'd expect the DeColts to go over here. David Mack vs Dan DaLay I still think you're trying to hold back on a push for yourself, so I'll go with the big man DaLay. Of course, you might be wanting to punish him for his lacklustre NYCW run in your 2007 game! :D Ricky DeColt vs Ryan Powell I'm being a bit heel-heavy with my predictions, so I'll go with the face here although it's not such a confident choice. Steve DeColt vs Eddie Chandler (c) Eddie just won the belt and won't lose it so soon.

Whippy the Clown vs Trent Shaffer (c) for the CGC Canadian Championship -Like Marcel, I'm not particularly fond of clowns, so... Ed Monton vs Shooter Sean Deeley -Shooter will gather some momentum here, and a lose for Monton doesn't really seem to hurt. Jack & Alex DeColt vs The Specialists (c) for the CGC World Tag Team Champions -Just don't see Jack and Alex winning, at least not cleanly. It's more fun to have the Decolts chase the belts, I think. David Mack vs Dan DaLay -I'm going for a Mack win here, to setup some future matchups. I'll be the person in attendance chanting "NYCW" everytime Mack hits a big move. By the way, I just tried... and it's not really all that easy to chant "NYCW". Ricky DeColt vs Ryan Powell -To balance out the end of the card, because... Steve DeColt vs Eddie Chandler (c) -... Chandler isn't going to drop the belt so quickly. Great stuff, btw.

Whippy the Clown vs Trent Shaffer (c) for the CGC Canadian Championship Too early for Shaffer to lose the title and though it has no relation on the outcome of the result, I'm never convinced by Clown's as babyfaces. Ed Monton vs Shooter Sean Deeley Time for Deeley to pick up a win, to at least have him looking a threat as a member of the elite. Jack & Alex DeColt vs The Specialists (c) for the CGC World Tag Team Champions You'll want to keep the DeColt's happy to a certain degree so they'll win the match, but there's a little more mileage in the chase if the Specialists find some cheap way to hang on to the belts. David Mack vs Dan DaLay You're not really pushing yourself all that much and seem content to put over some of CCG's top heels Ricky DeColt vs Ryan Powell The heels have pretty much had it all their own way, at that includes the DQ/countout win for the Decolts in the Tag Title match. There's usually at-least one concrete babyface a show and it's most likely to happen here. Steve DeColt vs Eddie Chandler (c) Too early for Chandler to drop the title, he'll probably have all the DeColts chase him for a good few months yet, until one of them is finally able to defeat him

But Adrian Garcia throws one of the tag title belts to Nate Johnson, and he gets the Specialists dq'd after nailing Alex with the belt. This infuriates DaLay, who then proceeds to start using more high impact offense, but Mack proves resilient and rallies back several times to briefly gain the upper edge again before a cheap shot by DaLay stifles Mack's momentum. Finally, after getting more of a fight than he bargained for, DaLay connects with the DaLay Down and wins the match. An excellent match as I have enough skill to make DaLay look good in beating me. While things may change in the future, for now I can best help the company by staying strong enough to be a good win for the main heels, but not really central to any of the current storylines. I am going to use you as a stepping stone to the main event Ricky and show the world what a total fraud you really are!" Rating D+ The crowd reaction was less than I hoped for considering this is the lead in match to the main event. If you think I am your meal ticket to the big time, then Ryan, you are in for a very painful lesson tonight!" Rating D+ Ugh, that not a good sign when a DeColt boy gets a less than stellar pop from the crowd, especially in their own backyard of British Columbia. Match Rating C Very even, back and forth match that had both men switch control several times. Eventually, Ricky manages to get the victory after Powell misses on a splash attempt in the corner and hits the ringpost. Ricky then slams Powell in the corner and then comes off the ropes with the DeCotl .45 to get the pin. The match was at least decent, if still not at the level I would like to see these two at. This only confirms my decision to take the World title off of Ricky as despite his potential, he still hasn't put everything together yet to deliver the level of matches we need from a world champion or their main contender. Ricky DeColt is celebrating his victory when all of the sudden Eric Tyler comes into the ring and levels him from behind. Hopefully this will also increase the crowds interest level so I can keep Ricky's momentum growing and keep my boss happy. As Eric Tyler is clamping down on Ricky DeColt with his trademark submission hold, and Ryan Powell continues to stomp away, Ricky gets saved from an even worse beating as his older brother Alex DeColt runs down with a steel chair and chases Tyler and Powell away. Powell and Tyler then back up the ramp with satisfied smirks at the damage they have already done to the younger DeColt. He is usually considered the most passive of the brothers, but he let his emotions out for this promo. Eddie Chandler responds with his own venom spewed promo saying " Cancer Steve? I am the World Champion, I am the best there is in this company and in this country, and I am going to drive the DeColts out of CGC and Canada once and for all, starting with you Steve!" Rating B+ The champion gets an equally strong heel reaction as the crowd is seriously pumped up for the main event. Eddie Chandler drew with Steve DeColt in 26:49 following a double count out. Match Rating B- A good, even paced back and forth match between two men gifted in the ring. Momentum swung back and forth like a pendulum as each man showed why they were in the main event and at the pinnacle of this promotion. Both men score numerous two counts as the intensity between them is almost palpable. The action flows in and out of the ring throughout the match until finally both men end up trading blows fighting up the entrance ramp, totally oblivious to the referee's count. The referee reaches 10 before either man can get back in the ring and the match ends in a double countout. The wrestling gods must hate me or something. Despite a hot crowd and two men who excel at telling a story in the ring, there was just something that didn't mesh between them. Little inconsistencies and minor things that cause a great match to become only a good one kept coming up during their match. They are both professional and skilled enough to work through it and deliver a solid result, but this should have been a classic, not just a good main event and even though I have too much invested in this feud to just pull the plug, this doesn't look like it will become the story that carries us to the next level. Overall Show B- PPV Buyrate 0.27 Another solid PPV and yet another potentially great feud nipped in the bud as that ever elusive chemistry curse keeps coming back to derail all my plans. Fortunately our main eventers have the ability to overcome these things to still deliver, but we need to be doing better than we are if we want to overtake NOTBPW. Feedback from the fans has everyone buzzing about their recent shows, especially a main event feud running between Johnny Bloodstone and Jeremy and Dan Stone Jr that is resulting in sold out shows and classic main events on a weekly basis. And our buyrate from the PPV stayed the same, so no good news there either. And the pain continued after the show as well as Ricky decided to pull a prank on our senior referee Francis Long that was in bad taste. I took Ricky aside and told him that if he wanted to be taken seriously in this company and this industry, juvenile stunts like that had to stop, but obviously Ricky didn't take my message to heart as he shrugged me off with " It's just a prank." and walking away. Like I need more complications in life. Now I have the boss's son and the guy I am supposed to keep pushing hard pulling grade school crap and I am supposed to rein this guy in? And yet, if I don't try and squash it, I risk alienating the rest of the lockeroom. It's times like this that I love the simplicity of NYCW.

You know what I find odd. I read diary after diary cursed with tons of bad chemistry, and I start up my CCW promotion and have been blessed with an abundance of good chemistry. Every other match I read "good chemistry" "excellent chemistry" but the sad part is that they are still F and F+ matches :(

Solid PPV there. Hey it must have been, I almost got all predictions correct. Don't tell me about Bloodstone and Dan Stone Jr. In CZCW game, I swear every week NOTBPW puts these two against each other and they always get an A or A*. Even the AI needs a penalty for repetitive booking!
You know what I find odd. I read diary after diary cursed with tons of bad chemistry, and I start up my CCW promotion and have been blessed with an abundance of good chemistry. Every other match I read "good chemistry" "excellent chemistry" but the sad part is that they are still F and F+ matches :(
My NYCW Diary was different than this one in chemistry as I usually had good to great chemistry in most of my big feuds, especially David Mack. In fact, Frankie Perez was my only major champion who seemed bitten by the bad chemistry bug. But in this CGC Diary, almost every major feud I initially planned has suffered bad chemistry. It derailed the Jack DeColt-Eric Tyler feud and diminishes the Steve DeColt-Eddie Chandler feud. Fortunately they are still talented enough to work through it to decent results, but it probably costs me at least a half a grade in every event that face.

Match Rating E+ Reuniting a classic CGC tag team and giving them a squash win over the resident jobber tag team. Nostalgia only goes so far though, as the crowd was dead for this reunion. Match Rating D Somewhat better as Shaffer gets a squash win after jobbing at the PPV Main Show: The show opens with the CGC World Champion Eddie Chandler in the ring, wearing the belt over his shoulder. He says that at Luck of the Draw, he thoroughly dominated Steve DeColt, and the only reason he wasn't victorious was because DeColt was too cowardly to fight him in the ring and forced a countout because he knew he couldn't beat Chandler. Some music plays, interrupting Chandler, and out walks Steve DeColt. Steve says that he isn't afraid of Chandler or anyone else and that he will face Chandler anytime, anywhere because he is coming for the World title and to drive Chandler and the rest of the Elite scum out of CGC! Chandler says he already has a match tonight, but he will deal with Steve and the other DeColts soon enough, on his terms and not theirs! Rating B Despite the minor disappointment of their PPV match, there is still a good storyline here, and it will be better to go with it a while rather than try and build another one from scratch, especially with the DeColt Family Festival back to back PPV's coming up in a little over a month. Judging by the loud crowd reaction, there is still a lot of heat with this feud. Youth Energy defeated Nathan Black and Zeus Maxmillion in 3:56 when Lee Rivera defeated Nathan Black by pinfall. Match Rating D- Not the best follow up to a hot opening segment as Youth Energy get a fairly easy win over a couple of lower carders. The crowd lost some of its earlier intensity after this match. Ed Monton comes out and says that CGC is changing and it isn't for the better. Back when he started, people had to pay their dues and earn their way to the top. Now you have these prima donnas and young punks who think everything should be handed to them and that they should be major stars the moment they step into a promotion. So he decided to make it his mission to show these arrogant brats the true traditions of wrestling and to do that, he brought back a man who understands the way things should be and who has watched his back for years. The curtain parts, and out walks Ed Monton's former partner Jon Jetson! The Canadian Enforcers have reunited in CGC! Rating D- Still an underwhelming reaction from the crowd, but not too surprising given that the heydey of the Enforcers was over a decade ago. Still they give me a veteran face tag team to throw into the mix and help teach basic wrestling skills. Eric Tyler and Ryan Powell are backstage being interviewed and Tyler is asked why he interfered in the Powell-Ricky DeColt match last week. Tyler grabs the mike from the interviewer, pushes him aside and says " Why? Why did I kick the snot out of that punk ass peckerhead daddy's boy? It's very simple. For weeks now I have been out here asking for anyone with the stones to come out and give me some real competition but all I have gotten is these wimp ass pantywaists. Then I remembered that the DeColts are supposed to be the toughest sob's here, so since they weren't coming to me, I decided to go to them. And after watching my boy Ryan at work, I was reminded of a younger me. I saw in him the same hunger, the same desire for greatness that drove me to the top. I saw him go straight for the throat by provoking the DeColts directly and decided that was what I would do as well! And it worked beautifully as now big brother Alex has come charging to the rescue, and he should now have enough motivation to actually give me a decent fight!" Rating C Good promo and a good way to kill two birds with one stone. Since part of my standing orders are to keep Alex popular and Ricky hot, throwing them into a solid storyline where they can support each other should help accomplish both goals. Also having Tyler play mentor to Powell helps Powell's development, makes use of Tyler's great talents, and gives the DeColts some solid material to work off of. Alex and Rick DeColt fire back with their own promo, with Alex doing most of the talking. Alex states " So Tyler, you wanted some competition? You wanted somebody to give you a fight? Well, guess what chrome dome, you are going to get what you asked for. Ricky doesn't need me to fight his battles for him, but when you decide to doubleteam us you learn a very simple lesson. Jump one DeColt and you get them all in return. Ricky will take care of that jackass Powell while Granpa Tyler is all mine!" Rating B- As usual the DeColts deliver a solid promo as we continue laying the groundwork of this storyline. Alex & Ricky DeColt defeated Eric Tyler and Ryan Powell in 12:44 when Alex DeColt defeated Ryan Powell by pinfall with a DeColt Driver. Match Rating B- A solid tag match between these men and Alex really dominated the action as he tried to go after Tyler, who instead only got in the ring when Ricky was there, and let Powell take the brunt of Alex's wrath. The finish came when Ricky dropkicked Tyler off the ring curtain, then made the tag to Alex, who planted Powell with his DeColt Driver. Round one goes to the DeColts. Definitely what I was hoping for as this was an excellent tag team match and opener to this feud. If they can build off of this, then I can not only keep Alex and his father happy, but this gives me something else to sell the Family Festival doubleheader with . Steve DeColt is backstage and says that very soon he and Eddie Chandler are going to settle things and he is going to drive out the cancer infecting CGC and take back the World title. He is going to restore the DeColt family's honor and pride and take care of Chandler and the Elite once and for all. Rating B Steve gets the biggest pop of the night so far as the heat keeps building in his feud with Chandler. Eddie Chandler defeated David Mack in 12:54 by submission with a Fabulous Stretch. Eddie Chandler makes defence number 2 of his CGC World title. Match Rating C+ David Mack once again has a strong showing, but once again comes up short as the Champion shows him just why he is considered one of the most dangerous men in CGC as Chandler eventually locks in the Fabulous Stretch and makes Mack tap to successfully defend the title. Granted this was a little self serving, but at the moment, especially with all the DeColts involved in other storylines, I am one of the only upper level babyfaces that can look credible for a title shot, yet still lose convincingly to put over the champion before his next PPV matchup. Eddie Chandler is once again arrogantly displaying the championship belt after his successful defense. But his moment of triumph is cut short as Steve DeColt charges out and goes toe to toe with the champion. Chandler and DeColt brawl all around the ring as the crowd cheers the action on. The shows closes with both men still rolling around the ring, trading blows as officials and referees try to break things up. Rating B Keeping the heat building for our main feud. Also gives the show a strong close. Overall Show C+ TV Rating 0.54 Another solid show, if not earth shattering. I could probably pop some bigger numbers if I just forcefed DeColt Elite matches every week, but then there would be little incentive for the viewers to buy the PPV's and those are the main source of revenue for the company. Given that making a 2.5 mill profit over the next two years was my #1 marching order I prefer to ensure that they remain the highlights of our schedule so I can continue to keep my job, especially with Alex ready to step back in if I should falter. Our ratings eked up a little, but with the jump that NOTBPW took on their last show, the gap between us has jumped to over 3 tenths of a point. I probably have some leeway as Iong as I keep us rising, but I know that George DeColt really wants to surpass NOTBPW, even if he hasn't officially made that our goal. And of course there is always some stupid glitch that requires my attention. This time Francis Long, apparently unsatisfied with my talk with Ricky after the PPV, decided to take matters into his own hands and pull a prank on Ricky to get even. Unfortunately for him, the victim wasn't Ricky, but Eric Tyler who stumbled into things by accident. Needless to say, that didn't sit well with the veteran at all, who told me in no uncertain terms to handle this before he handled it himself. I took Long aside, and told him things stop now. I said I understood about getting even but I wasn't going to tolerate these antics from a 23 yr old kid, and I sure wasn't going to tolerate it from a veteran referee who should know better, especially as his father wasn't paying my salary. I let him know that if it happened again, we had three referees under contract, so his job was eminently expendable.

Match Rating D- Another yawner of a tag team match. Jetson is probably rusty after bumming around the independants so long and I may have made a mistake bringing them back on tv right after reforming them. But I still think they have potential to bring a veteran presence and a new dynamic to the tag scene, so I will have to deal with these 'growing pains' while they reconnect with their teamwork. Eric Tyler and Ryan Powell are backstage before their upcoming match. They state that now that they have joined forces, Alex and Ricky DeColt are in for the fight of their lives and that the two bums they are going to destroy tonight are just a warmup for when they get their hands on the DeColts again. Match Rating D Tyler and Powell have little trouble in overcoming the former tag team champions Youth Energy as Tylers dreaded Tradition lift claims another victim. Despite Tyler still looking dominant, even at age 48, this came off as a fairly bland match. Frankly I was expecting better given the experience of Youth Energy. No reasons I can pinpoint for the mediocrity, just a nothing special match. Alex & Ricky DeColt direct some comments towards their foes Eric Tyler and Ryan Powell, telling them if they want a fight, the DeColts aren't hard to find, and that Alex and Ricky are ready to face them anytime and anywhere! Rating B- Nothing like some DeColts to pop the crowd. Hopefully that will spark a livelier reaction for the rest of the night because as of right now, I am afraid we are backsliding. Jack DeColt is walking backstage past some scaffolding , talking with his fiancee Hotstuff Marie. Suddenly one of the workers calls out "look out below!" as a pipe had rolled off the top of the scaffold and was falling down toward the couple. Marie reacts a little quicker than Jack, and pushes him out of the way, but doesn't avoid the pipe as part of it hits across her back, knocking her down. Jack quickly grabs her and cradles her in his arms, loudly calling for somebody to get a doctor . Marie is just a little dazed and tries to get Jack to let her up, but he refuses, saying he will protect her and then picks her up in his arms and walks off towards the aid station. Rating B+ Slow building this seems to be paying off as this is the loudest response they have gotten from the crowd in any of these segments so far. Whippy The Clown defeated Bobby Thomas in 7:57 when Bobby Thomas was disqualified when Trent Shaffer ran in and attacked Whippy The Clown. Match Rating D It's official, the gods of chemistry have decided that I am their archnemesis, and thus have cursed me with yet more examples of otherwise solid veterans unable to effectively communicate in the ring. After getting the crowd pumped up after the previous couple of segments, this was a buzz killer as Whippy and Thomas had a somewhat awkward bout with several blown spots. Shaffer coming in to attack Whippy keeps their storyline going, but this has to be our worst night of in ring action since I got here two months ago. I can already here Alex at the next booking meeting telling everyone how things were better in the past, i.e. when he was booking. Elite are backstage and do another spiel about how they are the dominant force in CGC, how they are the kings of the hill and the DeColts are nothing but stepping stones and has beens trying to cling to the glory days gone by. Chandler then says that he is personally going to put Steve DeColt out of action and out of this business. The group then closes with their catchphrase of "If you are not Elite, you are nothing!" Rating C+ Despite both Deeley and DaLay sucking the energy out of the room with their lack of charisma, the group still gets some good heel heat, mostly due to the champion Chandler. Steve and Jack DeColt then do a promo before their upcoming match where they say that the DeColts are the cornerstone and foundation of CGC , and how group after group have tried to destroy them and take over. Jack & Steve say the Elite is just the latest in a long line of groups who thought they could roll over the DeColts, but they are gone and the DeColts are still here. They tell Chandler and his cohorts to enjoy their moment in the sun, because it will be over all too soon. They then mimic the Elite catchphrase, saying " If you are in Elite, you are nothing!" Rating B This audience seems to be a one trick pony when it comes to enthusiastic responses, and that pony's name is DeColt. Given that they always seem to get the biggest reactions from the crowds, at least right now, it isn't surprising that Mr DeColt keeps giving me subtle, and sometimes not so subtle hints to keep pushing the boys. But I firmly believe that these 'quick fixes' don't build any lasting momentum, and is probably a big reason why CGC hasn't passed NOTBPW yet. Fortunately, the fantastic growth that NYCW has experienced over the last year has given me an aura of credibility so that I am still getting my way in most things at the moment. But if we don't continue making progress, and money, that aura will disappear quickly, along with my job here. Steve & Jack DeColt defeated Dan DaLay and Shooter Sean Deeley in 9:50 when Steve DeColt defeated Shooter Sean Deeley by pinfall with a DeColt Stampede. Match Rating B- Despite double teams and cheating tactics, DaLay and Deeley are unable to contain the DeColts, who are pumped up by a very supportive audience and ride that energy to a win after Steve plants Deeley with a DeColt Stampede and sends a message to the World Champion Chandler that DeColt is on top of his game now. At least the main event delivers as expected. Hopefully that will be enough to pull this show out of mediocrity and allow us to pop a decent rating. NOTBPW jumping up the tv rankings after last week, and the tough negotiating stance of Maple Leaf Sports earlier this month has Mr DeColt pushing for us to get higher tv ratings as well, so that we have a better bargaining position during the next tv contract negotiation period. Eddie Chandler apparently received Steve DeColt's message and decides to deliver a reply of his own when he leaps into the ring after the match and blindsides Steve with the title belt. As the rest of Elite keep the other DeColts from intervening, Chandler begins physically taking apart his rival with a series of brutal slams and strikes, and then nails him with the title belt again, busting him open! Chandler then locks in the Fabulous Stretch, and has Steve DeColt groaning in pain as blood streams down his forehead into his beard. Finally a host of officials come out of the back, and the rest of the DeColt brothers break into the ring. Chandler beats a hasty retreat, but has already done the damage as Steve is still laid out in the ring. Rating B+ Since this feud is unlikely to get elevated in the ring, given their lack of chemistry together, I am trying to build the anticipation up to a massive level by these encounters and segments so that the fans are so hot for the actual match, they will overlook the minor errors and such that are sure to crop up. The response Chandler got for his vicious attack on Steve seems to show that this plan is working. Overall Show C+ Tv Rating 0.54 The main event and final segments definitely saved a show that was headed for disaster. Our ratings came in the same as last week meaning we didn't gain any ground, but that may not matter for a while as I found out later that NOTBPW didn't renew its tv deal. Whether that was a mistake , or a bold move to secure an even better deal next season remains to be seen, but I know it makes things easier for me for a little while as I don't have to explain the gaps in tv ratings at the meeting each week, especially as they were killing us the past month. This may be a golden opportunity to close that gap some more, and keep the DeColt patriarch happy with yours truly!
