sebsy Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 WWE: Where It All Begins Again..... Again! Hello and welcome to my new diary. I'll be blunt. There is no backstory or user character in this diary, it is just my imagining of the WWE from the night following the Royal Rumble. Hopefully this diary will work out much better than my last one, which while I enjoyed doing it, I could never get into a rhythm. I have been working on this diary for several weeks prior to launch, setting out storylines, matches etc, as in this diary I will do what I never managed to pull off before and that is to have Raw posted Monday, ECW on a Tuesday (Although I may post ECW on Wednesday's so people have time to predict) and Smackdown on a Friday with PPV's up on a Sunday. I have my first ten weeks written up already, so I'm good to go. It is at this point I would just like to say a thankyou to keefmoon who has helped me greatly with finding a way to make setting out my diary far easier than I could have ever imagined and also for all his help in the past. Certain stories/feuds will be similar to real life near the start of the diary and the odd happening will closely mirror real life events but things will quickly branch off into my own visions and I hope my version of things is as enjoyable as real life is sure to be building up to Wrestlemania 25. Also, every show isn't going to be an all out mega-super-awesome show, just as it isn't in real life, but hopefully every show will entertain you and progress things in a decent and realistic way. If anything this will stop me getting burnt out. Also I will be keeping tabs of peoples predictions and updating scores. There will be no prizes just bragging rights but it's always fun to try and win, right? Anyway, this is just an opening post to say a few things I wanted to say, the next post will be a brief reminder of events leading up to the Royal Rumble aswell as the Rumble itself. Jeff was unable to compete in a match at Survivor Series due to an attack by an unknown assailant, thought to be Edge. After winning the title at Armageddon, Hardy continued to be hit by bad luck as he was first the victim of a car crash in which the offending car drove off, before an 'accident' with his pyrotechnical display left him with injuries after the sparks erupted in his face as he approached the ring for a Cutting Edge segment, further causing people to believe that Edge was behind all of Jeff's misfortune. Jeff would defend his title against Edge at the Rumble in a No Disqualification Match, a match that should have originally been a regular singles match. Vickie Guerrero would make the change right before the match started.<p> </p><p> The World Champion over on RAW was John Cena, who was scheduled to face JBL for the title, although the interest in this matchup was further piqued by the involvement in proceedings of Shawn Michaels. Michaels had been employed by JBL a few months previous due to Michaels' poor financial situation due to the worldwide recession and The 'Heart Break Kids' lifestyle during his earlier years. JBL had employed HBK in the hope that, with him at his side, he could finally regain the World Title.</p><p> </p><p> The ECW Title would be on the line at the Rumble as Jack Swagger would defend against Matt Hardy, who had lost the belt to Swagger just 12 days before, on an edition of ECW.</p><p> </p><p> Perhaps the biggest story going into the Rumble itself was the vicious assault by Randy Orton on the chairman Vince McMahon. McMahon was making his return to WWE Programming after several months away but his return was shortlived as Orton slapped him across the face before delivering a horrible punt to the skull of the WWE chairman. Orton immediately looked as shocked as anyone else in the building at his actions, that came just moments before Mr McMahon looked set to tell Orton that he was fired.</p><p> </p><p> The final match scheduled for the event would see Melina challenge Beth Phoenix for the WWE Womens Championship. Triple H is seen eliminating Ted DiBiase Jr and Cody Rhodes only for Randy Orton to sneak up behind 'The Game' and toss him over the top rope and win the 2009 Royal Rumble. The video then jumps between shots of Orton celebrating his victory and shots from last weeks Raw where 'The Legend Killer' delivered that horrible punt to the head of the chairman, Vince McMahon.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I HEAR VOICES!!!!! There is no Raw intro tonight as we head straight into the arena where Randy Orton makes his way out from the back flanked by Rhodes and DiBiase. But they aren't alone, as 3 smartly dressed men follow The Legacy down the ramp, carrying briefcases and pieces of paperwork....... Michael Cole: Just 24 hours removed from what proved to be an amazing and unpredictable Royal Rumble, we welcome you to Monday Night RAW live from the Metro Center, Illinois. I'm Michael Cole alongside Jerry 'The King' Lawler and as you can see, Randy Orton making his way to the ring with the rest of Legacy, just one night after the 'Legend Killer' beat 29 other superstars to win the Royal Rumble and earn himself a shot at any world title of his choosing...... All 6 men enter the ring and Orton is passed a microphone by Rhodes... Randy Orton: I....E....D........... Intermittent Explosive Disorder..... A disorder in which the victim is overcome with extreme expressions of physical anger and a disorder that I am a victim of. I've heard so many people over the past week saying that Vince McMahon has been a victim of my actions when in reality the victim in this whole situation is me. Vince McMahon and indeed the whole of the WWE staff were fully aware of my condition, as my lawyer will attest, and in threatening me last week on Raw with getting fired, I was pushed over the edge. This in itself may have been enough to trigger my condition but the treatment I had received over the previous weeks from Stephanie McMahon, coupled with Vince McMahon's attitude towards me last week, were more than enough for someone in my condition to lose their cool, and while I am sorry for the events of last week and for any pain caused to the McMahon family, it should be known that they have only themselves to blame..... Orton stops for a moment as the crowd boo him, closing his eyes to regain his composure Randy Orton: I will not apologise for my actions last week because Vince McMahon brought it on himself the moment he started threatening my job and my livelihood. I would like to point out that in doing my job, last night at the Royal Rumble, I outlasted 29 other superstars to earn my place in the main event at this years Wrestlemania and I fully intend to walk out of Wrestlemania as champion. With that said, there has been a lot of speculation that I may not even have a job come Wrestlemania due to what transpired last week.... Orton steps back a pace and ushers one of the suited men forward... Randy Orton: This man is Mr Thomas Longford, my lawyer, who can fully attest that when the WWE employed me, they were fully aware of my condition and as such if the McMahon's make any attempt to fire me, I will bring a lawsuit against them and the entire WWE company. Furthermore, if they make any attempt to suspend me or stop me from having my title match at Wrestlemania, which I earned fair and square, then a further lawsuit will be filed on my behalf against both the McMahon's and the WWE. Also with me today are my doctor who can provide any proof necessary that my condition is real, as well as my psychiatrist, who has been helping me with my condition for some time and if needed, will also fully attest to the severity of the condition with which I am afflicted..... I have nothing more to say on the subject at this current time.... Todd Grisham: Stephanie, if I can just get a quick word both on the status of your father and how you plan to address the situation with Randy Orton. After a close match in which the boys from the hood socre a couple of very near falls, the champs retain when Morrison blind tags himself in as JTG whips 'Miz' to the ropes and runs to the other corner to forearm Shad to knock him off the apron, as JTG drops 'Miz' with a dropkick. Last year Shawn Michaels and I were involved in a bitter rivalry that lasted for several months and if you remember that rivalry finally came to an end on an episode of RAW over in England when I beat Shawn Michaels in a Last Man Standing match. Tonight will be no different, Todd. Just like last year, 2009 is going to be the year of Jericho and if I need to prove to everyone one more time that I am not only far superior to Shawn Michaels, but far superior to anyone else in that locker room then so be it. Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring, brushing off the boos of the fans with a look of self assuredness. Once in the ring he doesn't look any less confident when Shawn Michaels' music hits and 'HBK' makes his way to the ring. Just as the referee finishes talking to the two men and before he gets a chance to call for the bell, we hear the familiar bell ringing sound of the intro to JBL's music and sure enough, JBL comes strutting out from the back, holding a microphone as he stops at the top of the ramp. Michaels has a look on his face of confusion, obviously not sure why his 'employer' has made his way out JBL: Shawn, I have just come from Stephanie McMahon's office where I have negotiated a match for myself tonight against John Cena, which if I should win... and I will... I will earn my place inside the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out. So, Shawn! I need for you to be in my corner tonight and 100% fit which means you need to get yourself out of that ring right now. Michaels hesitates, not wanting to walk out on a match and obviously pained at being forced once again to adhere to the wants of JBL.... JBL: Shawn, I won't ask you again, either leave the ring right now, or I will fire you right here and you can kiss goodbye to any chance you have of providing your family with a decent life.... Michaels still looks hesitant but walks towards the ropes and leaves the ring as Jericho starts making orders to the referee 'HBK' makes his way up the ramp where JBL turns and walks backstage. Michaels, with his head bowed, slowly and dejectedly follows him to the back Back in the ring, Jericho is still barking at the referee who walks over to the ropes and says something to Lilian Garcia... Lilian Garcia: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the match, by forfeit....... Chris Jericho Jericho sends another stern look to the referee and points at his wrist and the official raises Jericho's arm in victory, much to the fans' consternation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We return from the break where Shawn Michaels is sat on a bench in the locker room as JBL paces around behind him..... Shawn Michaels: You couldn't have just let me have my match? JBL: Excuse me? EXCUSE ME? You are in no position to be questioning my decisions, Shawn. If anyone should be answering a question then it's what the hell do you think you were doing when you Superkicked me last night at the Royal Rumble? Shawn Michaels: I was trying to help you win the World Title, just like you asked..... JBL: By kicking me in the face? Shawn Michaels: I had to do that, I had to get Cena to drop his guard and it worked, I Superkicked him straight after, dragged you on top of him, but guess what, you still couldn't beat him.... JBL gets right in HBK's face JBL: You are in no position to sit there and run your mouth with me, Shawn, in case you had forgotten, you are my employee, and if you want to provide for your family, you will do as you're told. JBL backs off a bit JBL: Now.... I have a match tonight with John Cena and you are going to be out there with me to make sure I take my rightful place inside the Elimination Chamber, and if I don't win tonight, then god help you, Shawn, god help you. Both men hit some good offence and gain a couple of 2 counts each and after about 5 minutes, Kane clasps his hand around Punk's throat. Punk manages to break free and bounce off the ropes but Kane drops him with a huge Uppercut. Kane takes control and goes up to the top turnbuckle but misses with a flying clothesline and as he gets up he turns around and is lifted onto Punk's shoulders and the Intercontinental Champion hits the GTS for a huge win Winner: CM Punk Pinfall 7:56 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We return from the break and fade straight into a video showing what Randy Orton did to Vince McMahon last week on RAW. Santino lets out a comical 'YAY' as a delighted Rosa follows them out of shot.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We head back to the locker room where Shawn Michaels is now pacing around, clearly deep in thought, when John Cena walks in straight up to him and speaks after a brief pause.... John Cena: Look.... we all know what went down last night at the Royal Rumble and I can fully appreciate the situation you're in with JBL, but, you know what, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to keep telling myself that you're only doing what you have to... so, I guess what I'm saying is.... don't give me any more of a reason to do what I probably should have already done by now...... Cena walks off as 'HBK' stares at him almost blankly before RAW fades into a break..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Cole: Welcome back to RAW, coming up in just a few moments, our main event between John Cena and JBL, but first a look at the first inductee into the 2009 Hall Of Fame. We fade into darkness before we hear the sound of glass shattering.... yes, the first inductee is Stone Cold Steve Austin! Cena gets the first real upper hand of the match and starts to take control only for Shawn Michaels to casually sweep his arm at Cena's leg, missing, but doing enough to provide distraction. Cena is annoyed and points at 'HBK' totally forgetting that JBL is in the ring, as Michaels' distraction eventually works. JBL starts to gain control and confidence, picking Cena apart except for a few minor efforts at turning things around. JBL is in real control and starts sending the odd glance to Shawn and even tells 'HBK' that it looks like he hasn't screwed up for once, as the big texan has Cena grounded on the mat. These are words that he might come to regret, though as Cena starts to find something from deep within and makes a comeback. Cena hits a flying shoulderblock from out of nowhere and then another before laying JBL down with a Sidewalk Slam. Cena signals a 'YOU CAN'T SEE ME' at JBL before springing to the ropes, but as he does so, Michaels motions suddenly towards the ropes but never physically touches Cena. It's enough to distract Cena again, though, and he steps one foot through he ropes to stare furiously at Michaels, but steps back into the ring. JBL is up and running at Cena but Cena ducks and flips JBL right over the top rope and JBL flies straight into Michaels and the two men are left sprawled on the floor. JBL manages to crawl back into the ring but Cena is up on the turnbuckle and hits a leg drop across the back of JBL's neck and waits for JBL to get back up. JBL struggles to his feet and as he turns is lifted onto Cena's shoulders and is planted back down with an FU. Cena immediately applies the STFU and JBL taps out almost instantaneously as his chance to go to the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out has vanished Winner: John Cena Submission 13:48 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We see Stephanie McMahon walking along a corridor backstage with a determined look on her face.... King: Well, it looks like we're going to find out the fate of Randy Orton! RAW fades to its final break.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'M ALL GROWN UP!!! Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring with a microphone and meaning business.... Stephanie McMahon: I'm going to get straight to the point, Randy Orton, get your pathetic little butt out here right now...... I HEAR VOICES!!! Randy Orton makes his way to the ring flanked again not only by the other members of The Legacy, but also by his doctor, lawyer and psychiatrist. The group slowly make their way to the ring where Orton gets in first and tentatively approaches Stephanie, without getting too close, and always making sure Rhodes and DiBiase are close by. He orders Rhodes to go and get him a microphone, which is quickly done...... Randy Orton: Ok, Stephanie, you got me out here, now what exactly do you want? Stephanie McMahon: What do I want? Randy what I want is for you to apologise to my father for what you did to him last week on RAW and to the entire McMahon family for what you've put them all through. Randy Orton: Maybe you weren't listening earlier on, Stephanie, I made my apologies and I won't be made to come out here and apologise again. Stephanie McMahon: I mean apologise properly you son of a bitch......... Randy Orton: Look.... as I said I have already apologised, but just to make things clear for you, I did not nor will I apologise for kicking Vince in the skull, I will only apologise for the fact that all this has happened in the first place. I am sorry for what has happened, but I am not sorry for what I did...... in fact, if I'm being completely honest, although what I did to your father last week was out of my control, I am glad it happened, I am glad I kicked your father in the skull so hard, SO hard, Stephanie, that I could feel his skull pressing against the bones in my foot..... Stephanie McMahon: You BASTARD!!!! Stephanie goes to slap Orton but he catches her hand before she can strike him.... Randy Orton: You are lucky, Stephanie, very lucky that I just stopped you from hitting me because the consequences would not be good for you if you did, just give me an excuse, Stephanie and I will kick your skull in just like I did your fathers. Orton lets go of Stephanie's hand and stares at her wide eyed, gritting his teeth.... Randy Orton: Go on, Stephanie, GO ON!!! Give me that excuse, I am begging you, hit me Stephanie, HIT ME!! Stephanie looks ready to slap the hell out of Orton but she somehow manages to regain her composure as she lifts her microphone back towards her mouth... Stephanie McMahon: You know what Randy, I'm not going to give you that satisfaction, but believe me the satisfaction will be all mine.... I may not be able to fire you, I may not be able to stop you from having your match at Wrestlemania... but I can sure as hell make your life hell and have you begging me not to slap you, but have you begging me to fire you........ Stephanie lowers the microphone and smiles at Orton, who stares at Stephanie with a furrowed brow, completely unsure of what she means. The silence continues for a moment....... HERE COMES THE MONEY!!!!!! King: It's Shane!! Michael Cole: And my, if looks could kill, Randy Orton would be six foot under! Shane stands at the top of the ramp and takes off his jacket before unbuttoning his shirt cuffs and rolling the sleeves up his arms as the 3 suited men with Orton leave the ring. He untucks his shirt from his pants before rushing at the ring and sliding under the bottom rope and flying at Orton, getting in a huge right hand that seems to daze 'The Legend Killer' before he is subdued by Rhodes and DiBiase. Orton quickly jumps over the barricades into the crowd as Shane fights back and lands huge shots on both Rhodes and DiBiase who fall out of the ring and throw themselves over the barricades to join Orton. Shane looks to head after them but is stopped by Stephanie who puts her hand on his chest as Orton, Rhodes and DiBiase quickly head through the crowd only turning when at a safe distance to furiously stare back at Shane O'Mac.... As a hyped up Shane McMahon glares at The Legacy from afar, RAW fades off air as the show ends..... With ECW Champion Jack Swagger retaining the title against Matt Hardy, who later went on to attack his brother Jeff and cost him his WWE Title, the WWE Universe is left wondering not only the reasons behind Matt Hardy's surprise attack, but also what the events mean for the number one contendership to Swagger's title. Teddy Long sure has a lot to figure out coming off Sunday's pay-per-view. Only one match has been announced so far for this weeks ECW as DJ Gabriel and Alicia Fox take on the sibling team of Paul and Katie Lea Burchill. I agree on the point about Mike Knox aswell. Not to say he won't get a push, but he's not ready for an Elimination Chamber As for the McMahon's vs Orton, it's 100% unavoidable given the starting point of the diary, but that's exactly why I chose the night after the Rumble as the starting point. The Orton - McMahon situation, the shocking turn of Matt Hardy, the build up to Mania, it just gives me so much to work off and I'm really enjoying it. difenetly interested hope this goes far Thankyou, I do too and I hope you enjoy reading! I'm Todd Grisham, here with Matt Striker..... Matt Striker: Thank you, Todd, it was a crazy night as far as ECW was concerned and we head over to the ring where our General Manager, Teddy Long is standing by...... Teddy Long is indeed stood in the ring holding a microphone, ready to address the ECW fans. Teddy Long: A few moments ago, you saw pictures from the Royal Rumble where Matt Hardy attacked his brother Jeff, costing him the WWE Title. Having spoke with Matt about what transpired, I accepted his request that he be released from his ECW contract so that he could move over to the Smackdown brand and therefore Matt Hardy is no longer a member of the ECW rost....... Long is interrupted by the music of ECW Champion Jack Swagger, who arrogantly struts to the ring with his title draped over his shoulder. He walks around the ring and gets a microphone from the announce table before joining Teddy Long in the ring. Jack Swagger: Let me get this straight, at the Royal Rumble Sunday night, I continued to prove my dominance over the entire ECW locker room by dismantling Matt Hardy in our ECW Title match and yet you want to come out here and talk about someone who is no longer even a part of ECW. Maybe you should pay a bit more attention to your ECW Champion, because you wouldn't want him asking for a release from his contract now, would you? In fact, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea, if I went somewhere else I may get some decent competition, I mean after Sunday night I am still undefeated in singles competition which begs the question of whether there is anyone in the ECW locker room capable or indeed worthy of facing me........ Teddy Long: Is that right........ Jack Swagger: Damn right it's right, as a champion I should be looking over my shoulder at my challengers, but there is no one, not one single person on this roster that poses a threat to my title, not one person that I fear, not one....... The arena darkens to a red glow as smoke starts to billow and The Boogeyman suddenly slides into the ring behind Swagger. Swagger turns to see Boogeyman and takes a jump back. Boogey opens up his little bag and pulls out a handful of worms, which he stuffs into his mouth, much to the disgust of the ECW Champion. Boogey looks at Swagger, then at the bag, then back to Swagger before grabbing another handful of worms, but Swagger quickly darts out of the ring as Boogeyman stares at him, Teddy Long all the while standing with a grin on his face as things unfold. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We return to ECW where our competitors are already in the ring for our first match of the night. Tiffany: Jack... Jack, Teddy has asked me to come out here and inform you that at No Way Out you will be defending your ECW Title against the winner of a number one contender match to take place tonight. That match will see Finlay take on both Mark Henry and Ricky Ortiz in a Triple Threat match. Tiffany smiles and walks backstage as Swagger looks put out by the announcement as we head to a break. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We return to ECW where Tommy Dreamer is in Teddy Long's office. Tommy Dreamer: Teddy, a few weeks ago I came out to the ring and told the fans that I was considering my future and that if I wasn't champion by the time my contract was up, then I would call it a day..... Teddy Long: I remember that, playa... Tommy Dreamer: Well, Teddy, I'm not asking you to put me in the number one contender match tonight, but I am asking that next week, you give me a match so that I can prove to the fans and to myself, that I still got what it takes to compete here in ECW, I don't care who it's against, I'm just asking that you give me a match next week. Teddy Long: Tommy, I got a lot of time for you my man, so you got it, next week you will have a match, and I know you want to compete with the best, so your match next week will be against... Mark Henry...... Tommy Dreamer: Thank you, Teddy.... Dreamer shakes Teddy's hand and walks out of the room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We cut to a different backstage location where Jack Swagger is walking towards the locker rooms, when Finlay walks past with a hyperactive Hornswoggle. Jack Swagger: Hey, keep that little brat away from me. Finlay: What did you say?. Jack Swagger: I told you to keep that little creature away from me. Finlay gets right up in Swagger's face... Finlay: You should stop worrying about my little boy, and concern yourself with the fact that at the end of tonight, I'm going to be coming after...... that... Finlay and Ortiz pair up early to take on Henry, but the big man still comes out on top. Henry knocks Ortiz to the outside early on and goes to work on Finlay. Ortiz makes brief attempts to get back in on the action but is quickly put back down by a dominant Henry. Finlay starts to fight back by working on Henry's legs, also allowing Ortiz a way back in. The pair wear Henry down before fighting between each other. Henry again comes back into it and starts to dominate once more but Hornswoggle starts to become a nuisance and distracts the big man. Henry makes a move for him but Hornswoggle jumps down off the apron and Henry turns around only for Finlay to smash into him with enough force to knock him to the outside. Ortiz goes for a clothesline on Finlay but the Irishman ducks and pushes Ortiz into the corner before hitting him with the Celtic Cross for the 1..2..3 Winner And #1 Contender For The ECW Championship: Finlay Pinfall 10:11 Finlay and Hornswoggle dance in celebration after the match, but their joy is cut short when Jack Swagger smashes Finlay from behind with a forearm, knocking him down to the canvas. Hornswoggle goes to check on his father but is pushed away by Swagger who lifts Finlay up for a Gutwrench Powerbomb. Swagger goes to leave the ring and Hornswoggle goes back to check on his father but Swagger steps back into the ring and grabs the little fellow by his waistcoat. Hornswoggle looks scared but Swagger doesn't care and throws him to the outside under the bottom rope where he lands with a thud. Swagger stands in the center of the ring with a huge grin on his face as ECW fades off the air to the sound of Todd Grisham asking if Swagger's actions were really necessary.
