TMZ.com broke the story on Monday morning that former WWE superstar Dave Batista is becoming a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter.

The 6'5", 290 pound Batista was in Hollywood over weekend and told TMZ that he's headed to the Strikeforce MMA promotion, home of another former WWE superstar, Bobby Lashley.

Batista even told the TMZ camera guy that he already has his first fight lined up, but can't comment on it just yet.

There have been rumors for months that the 41 year old Batista would be following in the footsteps of Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. Now, its official

So how do you thinks he's going to do? I for one think that age is not on his side here but wel see what happens.

I've followed that man's entire career...don't you doubt him now!

I've doubted him from the first match I saw him in (towards the end of his run on ECW, I think.) He's done nothing to change my mind since.

Batista is going to get destroyed. Simple as that. Brock and Bobby had youth on their side.

Not to mention, Lesnar and Lashley had a solid base to start with as former amateur wrestlers. I don't think Batista has any real training in an actual fighting discipline.

Plus the fact the had a history of wrestling before hand. Like real wrestling not Wrastling

You mean like Hershel Walker's history of wrestling? It TOTALLY depends on who Batista's opponent is. To say he's going to get destroyed without knowing who he'll be in the cage with is just silly.

Have you ever watched Batista? He has no stamina. He's winded after his entrance. He won't make it in MMA

Batista is going to get killed. He is to old to start fighting. His stamina is odviously bad......As far as i can tell he has no amature background and no a few month in a dojo does not make you a fighter. I am going to laugh when he fails a test though. There is no way in hell he is going to make it a year. Lesner i knew would be good because he has the background. lashley well i think he is still trying to find his footing but he is doing good enough.......batista? no way in hell............

Storyline-wise I liked the PPV.

Kane gets to feud with SES and then fights Punk at MITB. Then we likely find out it's not Punk, and Kane moves on...

I've been dying for Mysterio to turn heel for ages as he's blaaaaand, but they'll never do it for business reasons I can only agree with. But this actually gives him a purpose, a match (which hopefully he can win clean (which never happened in his first reign) with Swagger, then a DQ win against either Kane or Drew depending on which route they go down. Suits me.

Seeing Jericho vs Bourne on PPV rocked. People who worry about Jericho don't need to - he got the skills and charisma to build himself up as a legitimate threat in a couple of months.

Cena gets to feud to NXT without it being about the title. Also good. Although you could argue Cole got legit injured, there was no need for all three commentators to abort their positions, leading to the likely conclusion that Cole is the king-pin.

Kings sucks. Striker rocks. His colour was awesome.

And Sheamus goes... Triple Threat with Orton and Edge, I guess? That makes the MITB card:

Sheamus © vs Edge vs Orton

Mysterio © vs Swagger

Cena vs Barrett

Kane vs Punk

Men's cross brand MITB

with possibly:

Women's cross brand MITB

Hart Dynasty / Samoans

Looks good to me. There could be a second MITB match of some tyoe, or there are more midcard matches out there (Intercontinental / US / Drew (although all of them could be in MITB).

Then can probably come up with some kind of watered down ladder match for the divas and I'm not sure the average fan will notice. I mean, just have King have more heart attacks to cover the weak in-ring action... <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Pretty sure HHH coming back to feud with Sheamus was the idea since before WrestleMania.</p><p> </p><p>

My money's on Sheamus to win the feud and retain the title. HHH has been in "beyond the title" status for a long time now. I think he's finally realized it.</p>
