The Official WWE / NXT Discussion Thread *May Contain Spoilers*

Hey, maybe I called the Colt Cabana thing. Cool, I really hope that happens, from what I hear this guy is pretty entertaining.

I also hope the 'E doesn't go out of their way to shock and surprise everyone with the Cena/Punk match, they have virtually unlimited options to go with and a lot of them have been discussed by fans. I hate when promoters think the only entertainment is wrestling is when people are shocked by what happened (see: Vince Russo). Sure, it's cool sometimes, but one of the most talked about endings is Punk winning, and Del Rio cashing in to win the title. Should they change that finish because fans on the internet debated whether or not it would happen? No, even if it's not completely out of left field that's still a pretty cool ending in my opinion and opens up a ton of options for everyone involved to move forward with.

I'm still kind of hoping for a Cabana run in though, because then I'd look like a damn genius. And also I like the idea of two indy wrestlers running around the WWE with the World Title messing things up and doing their best Scott Hall and Kevin Nash impressions.

Any source on this? Pretty big thing to come out with so need a source really.

It was reported on Wrestlezone, pretty sure it was on other sites aswell.

Edit: In fact Colt Cabana actually came out and said he would be attending so it's not just rumors.

I think he said in his podcast that he's going to be front row or something. I'm pulling for him... as long as he honours the bookings he's already made.

Was never a fan of Claudio until I saw him perform live back in May. So strong. Doing a giant swing on Takeshi Morishima was a sight to behold. I still prefer Hero (if he can calm down on the needless shorts to the head) but Claudio gets a big thumbs up in my books.

Two more possible outcomes, since I've started rewinding the promos and repeating them, many of the promos and main lines in those promos has been the contract so this came to my mind:

a.) CM Punk wins and no one cashes in MitB case, Vince comes out and has no option but to give Punk a HUGE contract with everything he wants.

b.) CM Punk wins and the new MitB winner cashes in MitB case but fails in defeating Punk, resulting in Vince coming out and having no option but to give Punk a HUGE contract with everything he wants as he can't let the championship leave WWE.

Main problem with A is that Vince isn't going to not force the MitB winner to cash in their shot at the title if Punk beats Cena.

Main problem with B is that, if one MitB winner fails, Vince can just order the other MitB to cash in their title shot.

And yes, the SD MitB is theoretically only able to cash in on their own brand, but it's not like WWE have any qualms about rewriting their own rules to better fit a storyline.

I hope Punk wins with Vince screwing Cena leading to a Punk/Vince alliance. It could be explained that Cena's actions (submitting the title and walking away from Vinxe on RAW) did not sit well with Vince, the man who made Cena the focal point of the WWE. So, Vince decided to have somebody else be the focal point.....CM Punk.

<p>I really hope not. Punk has become my hero in the last few weeks for being the guy speaking out in opposition to Vince McMahon's idea of wrestling. That's the entire charm and draw of the angle for me. Without 'shooting' on everything the smark in me hates about WWE, I'd have absolutely no interest in this angle. How can Punk do that while aligning with Vince?</p><p> </p><p>

Go Punk Go!</p>

Yeah what Self said. Punk's anti-WWE style rants are THE draw of this. He has been absolutely amazing and has single handedly brought back the element of surprise and uncertainty to wrestling which Vince and pals have been killing for years. Punk needs to stay his own man and keep this crazy crap going. It's gold so far and I want it to last at least until wrestlemania.

The guy does some facial expressions that are definitely exagerated. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I finally got to see monday's promos and i definitely think that John Cena comig with his usual "i love the people, let's respect it" stuff is getting worst every day. But Punk was vert solid again. Very good stuff. Vince seemed a little off his game, i've seen him do better. But overall with was entertaining and kept the storyline going well. But Punk got a better reaction than Cena...again. This proves that the IWC isn't the only viewers section unhappy with the man. I think that Punk even gave up at some point from getting crowd heat.</p>

Oh, don't get me wrong. Vince has had his magic moments. He's had amazing performances, but his last few random appearances where he tries to play a tweener or a bad ass just fail hard in my eyes. I get that he's this ruthless businessman(and some people say he has a massive heart and I respect him for certain things like getting Joey Mercury clean), but come on!

I'd rather Shane come back and be the authority figure, but I know that's not gonna happen.

I've always loved Shane o Mac

He's not a bad actor, he's just over or under acting more recently. Over more times, as we saw monday.</p>

The following is an excerpt from a CM Punk interview with GQ.com...

GQ: Is that parallel to Austin why you wore a Stone Cold Steve Austin T-shirt when you were delivering that promo?

C.M. Punk: I do a lot of weird little things like that because people talk about it. I don't think it's any secret; I think the biggest match any wrestling company can do right now is C.M. Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin. I've thought that since I was 15. I'm straight edge. I don't drink. I don't do drugs. I don't smoke. And that is the perfect protagonist or antagonist to Stone Cold Steve Austin, depending on how you want to spin it. It writes itself. You would have to try really, really hard to f*** that one up. The idea of being on television is to wear your T-shirt so people see it and maybe buy it. I had gone out previously in the night and wrestled. You throw your T-shirt on the ground, and I don't know what the hell happens to it after that. I came to the back, and I was looking for another T-shirt. I sent somebody to go and get one, and they came back with a XXL. I was like, "I'm going to be swimming in this thing." And it's always creepy when you're wearing wrestling trunks with a shirt because it doesn't look like you're wearing any pants. I had a Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt in my bag, and it fit me. I chuckled to myself and put it on. Am I planting seeds? I don't know. I can't guarantee to anybody that that match is going to happen. Do I want it to happen? Absolutely.

How cool would a Wrestlemania with Cena/Rock and Punk/Austin be? I've read that Austin believes he could wrestle a full schedule if he wanted, but doesn't want to be in pain in his later years, but I wonder if he'd come back for a one-off match with Punk? That would be a pretty awesome feud, especially after the hilarious segment between the two on one of the three hour Raw's a couple weeks ago.
