with the E's current product id much rather watch impact

I think your in the minority, as the ratings show.

I like both shows, but i too don't understand the replay.

For me, all it does is mean that instead of DVR'ing impact on mondays, I can now save that space by going back to my pre-move schedule of watching raw at 9 after the good sitcoms on Monday and watching TNA on Thursdays.

It's certainly convenient, but i don't think it's a great move if you are trying to sell people that you truly believe you can compete with the WWE.

I don't know what to say.

Basically if they don't do the striptease thing you end up with a 8.3-8.4 which is about where they were 2 weeks ago.

Not bad..but they can't seriously be planning on pushing more nudity as a long term solution to their ratings problems.

I've gotta say it again, how does this ratings stuff make any sense? How many people have precognition and go "wait, i can sense the Knockouts will do a striptease in a minute, better tune in!"? It was in the overrun - ie. people who had tuned in for the next show but not Impact, combined with the people that were still watching Impact. Surely overruns will always be the same if not higher?

Looking at ratings only makes sense if everyone clearly turns off at a certain point. If it's for turning on, how would they have known what exact segment they were turning on to?

Who the hell would want to see Impact rather then WWE? It's better like this, really. TNA is not ready for a monday night wars yet. :)

Maybe so, but you wanna keep the devoted minority watching. Since the many who enjoy or watch both are incidentally going to tune in to Raw by default. At least without the encore, they had a choice, thus getting the ball on TNA's court to wow them. They didn't deliver much on that end, so who knows. Their prerogative; Dixie better not wince about their future ratings, they'll get what they get.

Well they had a high rating early and they were promoting that strip tease heavy all night.

It's not really out of the ordinary for people to tune in at some point earlier in the show and know that a hottie is going to be in her undies at 8:50 or so, and plan accordingly.:)

Do you guys really watch wreslting shows for that stuff? You know no one is going to get naked or show their boobs and the majority of people watching TNA are probably 18 so can either A) go to a strib club, B) Look up porn C) Have a gf/date/part etc. so I think its a pretty stupid argument. The only people that really like that stuff are teenagers, I remember back watching the 'E and thinking it was all riskay and all that (oh my god a bra!) then you find the internet... why would someone tune in to see any of those divas "strip" when you can easily google lingerie/bikini pictures of them?

When the alternative is watching Raw's 10 oclock segment...which if memory served was a ortunga - santino/ hornswaggle sketch followed by the entrances for the first tag title match?

yea, i did flip to watch lacey. why wouldn't I watch some eye candy?

no interest in that skit and i've seen those entrances countless times before so....

I'm 27 with a lady, but if the choice for me at the exact moment is hornswaggle or the knockouts...I'm going to watch the knockouts for a few minutes.

I like seeing nudity on TV. Just because I can also see nudity elsewhere doesn't change that. Over the time I've been watching TNA (sporadic as it is) I've grown quite attached to these girls, and would therefore like to see them with their kit off. I proudly display my 'sexist pig' card when it comes to TV watching. I want them humiliated, I want them degraded, and I want it now.

I'm only half-joking.

It's not exactly good for business, or even what I think TNA should actually do on their television (save it for PPV) but on that night, 3am, sitting at my computer screen, huddled up in my sleeping bag (heat's broken) a bit of semi-famous TNA-boobage would have gone down a treat. Sure I could have just looked at porn later (and who's to say I didn't) but you know how many mouse-clicks that would take? Some.

I'm a lazy, lazy man.

This is neither here-nor-there in the TNA thread, but I still think there's room on this earth for some R-Rated Wrestling. Not so much the blood & guts, but risque, adult storylines over complex and controversial issues. Obviously, TNA's aiming more mainstream than that, but it doesn't hurt to tempt some of man's baser instincts, especially the ones WWE are shying away from.

Title: Hulk Hogan on BTLS the day after the derided episode of iMPACT!

Source: PWTorch.com

Hulk Hogan was on Bubba the Love Sponge's radio show on Tuesday reviewing the landscape in TNA and giving his thoughts on the current TNA product needing more time than he originally thought to get off the ground.

Hogan said he was at the Gorilla position Monday night at the live Impact taping soaking in the show and trying to figure out where the product is and where it can go.

"TNA is a great company. There's a ton of energy here, but one of the things I really had to take a step back and take note of, it really takes time to build the monster. Just like I saw Randy Orton the other night teaming with (John) Cena and he's doing this babyface match. I had to wake up and realize that Orton has been there since 2001 and it's taken that long for that monster to get up and running and the nose to pull up on this thing.

"TNA is moving so fast. I watched the show. It's definitely not the product. The show is on fire. The audience needs to warm up to how TNA is changing and how they're stepping up and how fast it's moving. I guess I just have to get off my 'this is how it is' and 'this is how it was' because the business is changing and it's all new."

Hogan parlayed that into saying the Wolfpack might be an old, stale bit that he doesn't want to be associated with, but if the group can work then "great." Bubba joked that Hogan will probably squash it with his creative power.

"I won't do that. I wouldn't do that," Hogan said. "I want this company to work too bad. If you guys do well, great. If it works great and we have run-ins, it's going to get real entertaining because you and I have never had a physical confrontation."

Throughout the radio appearance, Hogan tried to create interesting radio talk by teasing that the payoff to their tension on TV could be a fight in the ring. At least both men recognized that could be ugly, but apparently the big "dream angle" in TNA is Hogan vs. Bubba. Seriously.

"If it works, it helps all of us. If we cross paths, it's going to get crazy," Hogan said. "When these guys (Wolfpack) are on and they're in their groove and they get their momentum, they draw money. You can help these guys - not where they were before in the NWO - then it will be good for business. If it helps TNA and it helps us all work, that's what this this is all about."

Bubba joked that Hogan was in classic "Hulk Hogan" mode trying to work him by playing the babyface with a warning ahead of time that he's a target to get jumped on TV. He said Hogan could then come back later and say "I told you so" if the storyline leads to Hogan beating him up on TV.

During the back-and-forth exchange, Hogan also talked up WWE CEO Vince McMahon on the effort it took to "build the monster" known as WWE and also McMahon saving Hogan from himself in WWE.

"It's been tough because let's just say it like it is. Vince McMahon is the monster. I just had a huge wake-up call the other day because I was watching Vince's show the other day bouncing back and forth - and I am grateful for everything Vince has done for me. You have to admit that no matter how whacked out I got or how 'on' I was, Vince McMahon was always there for me. I've done some really crazy stuff. He's always been there and I'm so grateful for what he's done. He's the monster."

Listen to the complete appearance in the three videos below. The good portions pick up at the very end of Video 1, then the beginning of Video 2, before Hogan hangs up at the beginning of Video 3. Thanks to Torch reader Arron Pegg.

We've got all the sex discussion shows at night on Virgin1 and all that, Five and Channel 4/More4 have the occasional documentaries about "the perfect penis" or "the woman with massive tits" or whatever, some dramas will chuck a few knockers in there for art's sake... Nudity is all over our TV - anything goes after 9 of course...

They're in the UK, (believe Self is in Wales) nudity is alot more loose over there, I remember the big uproard on Madonna being upset that there was nudity in the news paper over there which she thought was wrong for her kids but she makes her leaving in the US being sexual for other peoples kids

(of TNA) I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Perfectly hilarious!

Um, HBO, Showtime... Little shows like The Sopranos, Californication, The L Word, Penn & Teller's Bulls Hit...

I'm not even *in* America and I've seen nudity on American TV.

Those are all pay. I'm talking regular wide spread television. I should have added those with the playboy types.

So while I think TNA's build up for Lockdown has been a bit shoddy when it came down to building Dinero up (Random ass matches with Wolfe???) the card is alright (4 matches built). The Lethal Lockdown match should be good fun; The Teams, despite what you might think of Hogan and Flair, are a nice mix of old and young, and do seem to actually have a team feeling, with Flair's boys giving out a Horseman vibe, and Hardy and RVD being a natural pairing, plus Hogan has being building his partnership with Abyss enough to make this work.

Anderson/Angle could be good stuff, although this key thing was pretty gimmicky in my own view.

Anyone see Paul Heyman's rant yesterday?

I pretty much agree, though i think paul goes a bit overboard. Why go out and spend what is reportedly alot of money on RVD and hardy and then relegate them to a midcard fued with no revenge angle's for them in over a month?

Here is the full text.

A minute later, Heyman let it fly:

"Okay, I can't resist. How many times can u beat up RVD and Jeff Hardy

and not give them a 'revenge-minded' interview afterwards? Heels beat up babyfaces. Babyfaces swear revenge. People tune in. Holy s---! The formula is not that f'n complicated, people!"

"I don't want any1 to think I am saying I know it all. I DON'T KNOW IT ALL. I still have a lot to learn. I don't know how to grow hair on top of my head. I don't know how to get six pack abs."

"BUT I KNOW THAT IF A HEEL BEATS UP A POPULAR BABYFACE, THEN BABYFACE NEEDS A CHANCE TO PROMOTE THE TIME AND PLACE OF THE BABYFACE'S REVENGE."

I love Heyman's perspective on the wrestling industry. He knows the foundations of good booking, and he has a hell of an eye for talent.

Also, he is very much like Penn Jillette in appearance and voice. Well maybe mix in a bit of Gilbert Gottfried to the voice :p
