What's going on in your game?

<p>Where is this mod? I must download it!</p><p> </p><p>

I just finished up the 1987 King of the Ring which saw the debut of Jerry Lawler who attacked Harley Race. This is going to set up a match at SummerSlam for the "1 True King".</p><p> </p><p>

Honky Tonk Man defeated Ultimate Warrior in the finals thanks to Andre. Warrior & Andre were feuding already so it should continue into SummerSlam while I have HTM take on Steamboat for the IC Title. I think it may be time for Steamboat to drop it and go after the World Title!</p><p> </p><p>

Hogan defeated Hercules in a chain match (strap match w/ Hercules' chain). It was basically filler as both guys didn't have a true storyline. Hogan is going to SummerSlam to face Savage for the World Title which should be an epic match.</p><p> </p><p>

Savage retained against Piper. Piper was unsuccessful in 3 attempts at grabbing the gold and now has to move on. I think I'll have him feud with an upcoming Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam to help Perfect get more over w/ the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

I have my own faction of Andre/Vader and I'm going to throw in Hercules. We've been battling Warrior/Roberts and a recently signed Mr. T. SummerSlam will showcase a 3 on 3 match.</p><p> </p><p>

I created the United States title for another midcard title. Davey Boy Smith has it and is going to feud with his brother in law Bret Hart over the title at SummerSlam. I don't have anything for DiBiase so I'm going to try to throw him in the mix somehow.</p>

<p>A couple of weeks after the unfortunate death of Curt Hennig, another wrestler fell victim to drugs(and this one was quite an unlucky death). Sting died of a drug overdose a couple of days after wrestling Jeff Gaylord on an UWF show. Sting had become a valuable member of New Japan Pro Wrestling as well, and of course I was looking to pick him up eventually.</p><p> </p><p>

Had my Wrestlemania IV, Rick Rude beat Jake Roberts in a steel cage to retain his Intercontinental Title, Demolition beat Strike Force to win the WWF Tag Teag Championship, Bret Hart beat Harley Race(only rated in the high 80s, which was disappointing. No chemistry dings!), Hulk Hogan and Jim Duggan defeated Megabucks, and Ricky Steamboat defeated Hercules to retain the World Heavyweight Championship(rated 98, Herc was starting to tire a bit).</p><p> </p><p>

I played the tag team title match angle similar to what happened in real life, so if you knew what happened in the Demolition/Strike Force match at WMIV back then you know what to expect over the next few months.</p><p> </p><p>

Since the '87 WWF has no big show in April, I decided to make a big MSG show in week 3. The only announced matches so far: Demolition take on Hulk Hogan and Jim Duggan, and Hercules gets a rematch against Ricky Steamboat.</p>

So I need help. I've been slowly transitioning WCW into a workrate promotion in game, more along the lines of TCW in the CVerse.

At Starrcade 1995, Sting will beat Hulk Hogan to retain the World Title. My plan is to shift towards the nWo in July as planned, but it will not be Hogan who is the 3rd man. I needed a good transitional storyline between Starrcade and Bash at the Beach and I decided, hey, let's do a Japanese "best in the world" story.

I brought in Sonny Onoo (fired him in 1994) and he's working with Jim Cornette (managing Vader before Vader turned face and powerbombed him.) The two of them say that American wrestlers suck blah blah blah and they know the greatest wrestler in the world. My plan is to debut him soon and have him go on to feud with Vader and then take the title off of Sting to hold until August to shift to the nWo.

Here's the problem: Who should I use? I've gone back and forth on three guys. Hashimoto, Misawa or Nobuhiko Takada. Thoughts? I'm bending reality (editor) to make it work as a "sabbatical to the US" but I just can't decide who I want to use.

Was Jun Akiyama big yet in 2005? Exploders for everyone!

He was "in the mix", so to speak. But he was below Misawa, Kawada, Kobashi, and Taue for native workers in All Japan.

He teamed with both Taue and Misawa in 1995 iirc. So I'd say he was in that mix at least. Plus he seems more natural as a younger guy going abroad imho.

That young guy going abroard for experince aspect obviously works very well. I just remember Akiyama as being still much of a young lion around that time. I'd have to go back, but I don't remember him scoring any notable wins. He was in the ring with Misawa and Taue but he wasn't the guy getting put over to any real extent.

Yeah, Akiyama doesn't work. He'll be coming over if I bring over Misawa, but he'll work tag teams. It's really between those three guys (perhaps Kobashi, but unlikely). The worker needs to be big enough in Japan to carry the cache to make the angle work. They will be feuding with Vader and then winning the world title. I'm not going to do that with a young lion or a guy "on the verge" in Japan.

I just finished up SummerSlam in the Golden Era mod. My Champions:

World - Hulk Hogan (2X)

Intercontinental - Honky Tonk Man

United States - Bret Hart

Scottish Heavyweight - Roddy Piper

World Tag - The Rockers

National Tag - Demolition

I just got a show on TNN and pulled a 7.11 rating when I was getting a 1.0 tops from Superstars. I named the show Monday's Main Event. I created a brand split as well, having 3 1 hour shows. 2 are A shows and 1 is a B show. Monday's Main Event serves as my true A show, Superstars is now more of a B Show (like Smackdown is to Raw), and my B Show is actually more of a C show.

Hogan/Savage are battling out for the World Title. Honky Tonk Man just won the title from Ricky Steamboat who is going to get a rematch. Bret Hart & Davey Boy Smith are battling for the U.S. Title and have great chemistry. They are putting on amazing matches! I was given the idea from a friend to give Roddy Piper the "Scottish Heavyweight" and the whole idea here is saying that this title is a fighter's championship. Scots fight harder than anyone in the world etc etc which is going to lead up to a match at WrestleMania most likely against Hogan.

I have so many tag teams right now I had to make a secondary tag title. I've broken up the British Bulldogs, The Hart Foundation and now the Road Warriors. Only because Animal is causing so much trouble I didn't feel right punishing Hawk so he's going to get a fair singles run while Animal will be putting other wrestlers over til his contract runs out (I've seriously had it with this guy!)

My main storyline takes my character, which is me as the avatar, and I've created a Corporation type faction with Andre, Vader, Hercules, Bobby Heenan, Harley Race, and Bret Hart. Jake Roberts is playing the SCSA role while Warrior is playing a friend role in trying to help him overcome. I'm about to throw The Rockers into the mix. This is setting up for a huge match at Survivor Series where I plan to have a 5 on 5 for control of WWF with Jesse Ventura on Roberts/Warrior's side. Ventura will take over as the on screen owner/commissioner finally putting an end to my crazy acts (for now). I'm going to have the feud end at Mania with Roberts facing Andre most likely, if Roberts wins he will get 5 minutes to pummel me (which he will).

In my SWF-owns-TCW game, Cornell has positive chemistry teaming with Jack Avatar (WOO!) and Vengeance, the hottest brute I have going. Unintentionally he shot to ridiculous momentum and popularity; that team's only going to help things.

I just booked an ECW show, and it was quite shocking seeing that the main event was so high rated compared to the rest of the card. How's that possibile? The workers involved in the main event aren't more popular than the others, even their skills are not better. I'm posting a screen to let you see, I'm just curious to know how this could happen.

I'd imagine both teams have a lot of tag experience, and quite possibly chemistry bonuses as well stacking on top of that?

My WWF in 1988 going into Summerslam:

Hercules is the World Champ, beating Ricky Steamboat back in April at the Madison Square Garden Super Show. Since then Herc's gotten the better of Steamboat, but Steamboat earned himself one final shot at Hercules' championship by winning King of the Ring.

Demolition are the World Tag Team champions, and are going to be facing off against Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy at Summerslam. UWF closed their doors so I decided on a Freebirds reunion.

Bret Hart's the Intercontinental Champion, and will be facing off against the man he beat to win the belt, Rick Rude. Bret's been beating back all challengers.

Marty Jannetty keeps getting busted for drugs, so I 'fired' him after his third strike. I just reduced his contract to a few days in order to pull off a double turn. On the first Brother Love show of August, I had the Rockers and Davey Boy Smith and Scott Hall come out to argue about who should get a shot at Demolition. Hall was off of TV, getting a gimmick change. He came back with slicked hair, a shaved mustache but stubble, and a nice suit. On the Brother Love show, he turned on Davey Boy Smith, and the Rockers were protecting their friend from a further assault when suddenly Shawn Michaels superkicked Jannetty out of his shoes! To write off Jannetty, I had Hall(now named Razor Ramon) give him a Razor's Edge on the floor and had Jannetty stretchered out.

Some contracts are coming up, but I don't have the need for most of them. I'm going to be calling up a few guys from Prime Time Wrestling to replace them once the tour is over at the end of August. I've already called up Yokozuna(calling him Kokina Maximus for now), and Carl Oulette. I'll check the availability of some of the guys I'm letting go in a few months, though, but rotating names in and out should keep my game fresh and exciting.

Ayup. Add in possibly a longer length, title prestige, storyline heat if any... It can really add up after not terribly long.

The Pitbulls have 83 experience, while Cactus & Mikey have 58. There wasn't any chemistry bonus, and the match wasn't part of a storyline. Even the title isn't too prestigious, it's rated C+, but I think it gained something with that match. Still can't realize how the match could be so good compared to the rest of the card, but it was a nice surprise, TEW always has something new to offer! :)

Playing USPW in February, felt like restarting my Erik Strong diary but without the whole Erik Strong factor. Brought in a bunch of young guys that I like (Steven Parker, Mainstream Hernandez, Nelson Callum, DWN, Matt Hocking, Kirk Jameson) and am grinding them in the pre-show along with Darryl Devine, searching for tag chemistry but so far have struck out.

Chris Caulfield defeated Bruce the Giant and is going on to face USPW Champion Tyson Baine at the Pay-Per-View after Baine defeated Enygma soundly in a Cage Match at Stars, Stripes and Slams with an elevated Hades Bomb as Enygma tried to escape the cage. As such, Enygma is recovering from his injuries, but is forced into a match with James Prudence, who fights him to a draw (Enygma wouldn't lose), infuriating Prudence because he couldn't beat an injured Enygma and leading to a PPV rematch. I'm hoping the feud will elevate Prudence, but Enygma has Creative Control getting in my way.

James Justice knocked off T-Rex but is facing the now-freelancing Jumbo Jackson in a feud to elevate Jackson to near-ME level. He'll probably be more of a gatekeeper, but I see him as being at least slightly more useful than T-Rex because he can work a match.

Speaking of T-Rex, after losing to James Justice at Stars, Stripes and Slams, he violently attacked the man who made the match, Sam Strong, prompting a challenge from Nicky Champion. The two are gonna meet at the next PPV and feud for a bit, hopefully getting Champion some more overness and moving him up the card. Someone (I haven't decided yet) is gonna be in Champion's ear during this time asking where Sam is when he's getting attacked by T-Rex, and eventually Champion is gonna turn heel and attack Sam, saying that for all Sam's talk, he's been holding him back.

After failing to become #1 Contender, Bruce the Giant would've been content squashing jobbers, but was attacked by "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith who wants to show that he's more than the washed up has-been who showed up in DaVE so many years ago. I think Bruce will win this one, but I'm hoping it'll move Griffith up in overness at least past my tag guys into the Upper Midcard.

The Force is feuding with Peter Valentine over the National Title, and while he'll probably beat Valentine a fair few times, he's gonna be kept away from the title in case I want to use him in the Main Event scene down the road.

Also I brought in Hollywood Bret Starr (sadly not on written, but I don't wanna break my Working Agreement with MAW) as Bret Hollywood and gave him Savage Fury as bodyguards and Britney Hollywood as a manager/his movie director and they're gonna do some fun segments involving the making of "Indiana Bret In The Jungles of Borneo" when I have some spare room in my shows or just wanna imagine something goofy.

So I've kind of hit a tough spell with my game save, so I decided to post about it here, hoping that will pump me up a little bit more again about it...

So I think my last post was about Wrestlemania 4, which went really great. Hogan Vs Flair was the main event, scoring my first ever 100 (throughout the entire TEW Series I believe) Savage Vs Dibiase went down quite well also, with Macho Man becoming the World Champion. Piper's heel turn and defection into one of Dibiase's unofficial lackeys was well received and gained him enormous heat...

The month of April and May were rehashings of the Wrestlemania matches for the most part, no big event in April for me, and then the one in May was focused around a rematch between Savage & Dibiase for the World Title. Savage again won, remaining WWF World Champion. Hogan came to the aid of Sylvester Stallone in his feud with Andre in the weeks between Wrestlemania and the May Event, and this led to a Hogan & Stallone Vs Flair & Andre match that was fairly decent. The other big feud since Wrestlemania has been Piper Vs Steamboat, their first meeting at this same event, Steamboat gaining the upperhand via DQ if i remember correctly. It scored a 91 and was the highest rated match of the night.

June has been built towards King of the Ring. I held qualifying matches for the tournament with a good deal of the lower card wrestlers, and some of the upper tier guys who didn't have anything else going on. The tournament for the ppv shaped up as...

Greg Valentine Vs Jerry Lawler

Honky Tonk Vs Hillbilly Jim

Rick Martel Vs Tito Santana (both faces, and currently working as Strike Force, mainly a match to make sure that in the future when I break them up, they don't have negative chemistry)

Lex Luger Vs Sting

After some last minute changes to what I was planning in my head (had initially planned Lawler to win and turn into the heel Jerry "The King" Lawler character) I decided to have the finals be Honky Tonk Vs Martel, with HTM winning. Will have a televised celebration at my next tv show, where someone will ruin it for him, just haven't decided who yet.

Other key matches of the night. Hogan was in another tag match, this time teaming with Dusty Rhodes, and defeating Flair & Andre as a team. Steamboat Vs Piper happened again, with Steamboat once again retaining the Intercontinental Title. This will be the last meeting between the 2, as I plan for Flair to get involved in Steamboat's life somehow now.

Also, Macho Man once again defeated Dibiase, this time in a NO DQ Match, when Virgil interfered and accidentally hit Dibiase with the World Title, setting Macho up for the easy win.

Now I am turning my focus to Summerslam (almost 2 months away). I'm thinking Flair vs Steamboat for the WWF Intercontinental Title, Macho Vs Jake Roberts (if he signs) for the WWF World Title, and then maybe Hogan Vs Arn/Dibiase/Luger (one of the 3, not sure which yet). However if Jake doesn't sign, then I might just go ahead with 1 of the only big matches left on my roster that hasn't happened yet, which would be Flair Vs Savage. Not really dying to do that right now though. Idk, we'll see. I've also considered creating a new singles title and putting Hogan in a match for it at Summerslam, just not sure what I would call the belt. But it would kind of help build to what I ultimately want to do, which is have the Mega Powers explode like they did in real life, setting up a WM 5 match, but i wan't the circumstances to be different. Savage will be more upset about the fact that his World Title match at WM 4 took a backseat to Flair & Hogan, when he feels his match should have been the real main event, and Savage will also think Elizabeth and Hogan have something going on, and feel like Hogan is riding his coattails to try and stay relevant, things like that. Also toying with a double switch, where Flair will get ousted from the Horsemen by the other 3, turning him face, and then in a move to shock the whole wrestling World, Savage will turn heel and take over Flair's role as leader of the Horsemen...So yea, lots of ideas, but they are down the road ideas for me lol.

Oh, and I am also building up a masked monster character known as Venom. So far he has won 2 squash matches, so its a new project. Hope to have him ready to feud with whoever the champion is in about a years time tho. Not going to reveal just yet who I have under the mask tho...

My "stable wars" TCW game is falling apart. Just lost two of my favourite guys within a month.

Scout had a fairly uninspired career at first, as a rank & file member of "The Golden Army" a military themed unit led by Rocky Golden. In October 2010 he made waves (giggle) when he turned on his unit and joined Eddie Peak in "Police Brutallity". Unlike his teammates, who at this point were psychopaths in tattered cop uniforms, Scout went for a different demenour. A hard-drinking, world-weary, cynical noir detective type, renamed "Sleuth". Yet even with the new persona, Sleuth floated around as 2nd banana in the stable. Then 3rd banana. Then 4th. It wasn't until the 2011 Summer Heavyweight League that he made his mark. On pure whim, I took him all the way, besting all-comers. He won the league, turned babyface on a jealous Eddie Peak, then won the Heavyweight title to boot. Alas, he flew too close to the sun. His contract came up, and the bidding was got too rich for my blood. He's off to SWF.

More painful, Edd Stone just left. Initially leader of the frat-themed "Party Animals" stable, Edd was a fun loving dude, until he invited a man named Liberty into the fold. The experienced Liberty took the Animals under his wing, moulding them into team not only capable of fun, but also of winning matches. Seeing 'his' unit switch to Tie-Dye instead of the customary pink polo shirts, Edd snapped. Turning, defecting, and creating "Canadian Chaos". An all-Canuck unit dedicated to destroying Liberty's group, now renamed "The Rainbow Gathering". Edd failed spectacularly. Within 2 months his new stable were completely obliterated. Luckily for Edd, his on-again-off-again-bff Wolf Hawkins had started "The New Syndicate" and was looking for a second in command. Willing to do anything to take out Liberty, even put on a suit, Edd signed up. He and Wolf had just won the tag titles when Edd requested his release. Apparently signing Dan Stone Jr didn't sit well with him. If you love something, set it free. Goodbye Edd. I'm sorry.

Man, when I wrote diaries I loved the minutiae. Scripting out promos. Detailing matches. So much work. I'm totally loving the above style. Telling grand, sweeping story arcs with scant sentences. Like book reports on Shakespeare. Fun.

My curse of not being able to keep non-diary games running hit again as I decided to drop the jhdVerse game in favor of USPW game. This was done mainly because I like to try running a bigger than regional company (haven´t been able to get any of those games past first few months). I kept everyone on the starting roster and signed the following wrestlers to help bolster the roster:

Nation Of Filth (Stink & Grunt): They were signed to fill midcard tag team spot as I felt that they fit into USPW perfectly (old, useless in the ring, but pretty over none-the-less). They get into instant feud with The People´s Team.

Bradford Peverell & Kirk Jameson: This one (teaming them together as Light´s Out) I stole from my diary game as I wanted to have few younger guys who might eventually become stars. Peverell and Jameson aren´t the best young guys available but they are unlikely to get stolen in first few years so they were safe bets. Right now they are jobber team but I hope that they eventually rise up to the card once my older guys retire/leave.

The Tennesee Outlaws (Whisky Jack & Blackjack Robbins): I needed heel jobber team and Outlaws fit the bill. Sure there were better options available but they do the job just fine. They are on nine month contracts and are unlikely to get re-signed after that.

Amber Allen & Zoe Ammis: They were brought in to fill the women division, Amber is face while Zoe is heel. They are jobbing to established talents right now but like Light´s Out I hope that they will evetually rise up on the card.

I switched all the PPV shows to Friday week 4 so that I had four TV shows between each PPV. Just held USPW Red, White & Blue with following results:

USPW Wolrd Tag titles match

People´s Team over Nation Of Filth

This was a feud ending match with People´s team going over Nation a second time.

six-way USPW National Title match

Peter Valentine over, Java, Tribal Warrior, Darryl Devine, Anger & Kirk Jameson

Valentine keeps holding the National title and likely do it for some time. This was just a throw away match with no build-up. Devine is included to Sneer Corporation (he will replace Anger who will be leaving after two weeks when his contract is up).

T-Rex over Captain USA

Just a squash match to give T-Rex a PPV appearance. He has been floting around after I dropped the Justice vs. Rex feud after January (Justice won that one) but I will turn him face and have him feud with Baine (more on that later on).

USPW Television Title

Andre Jones over Bradford Peverell

Another throw away title defence, much like Valentine, Jones haven´t had any feuds and just had few random title defenses here and there. I just simple don´t have enough time to showcase these titles with just 90 minutes shows per week.

four way for USPW Women Title

Raven Robinson over Alicia Strong, Cherry Bomb and Belle Bryden

Robinson is currently feuding against Bryden and beated her in USPW Stars, Stripes and Slams. This time I included Strong and Bomb to match too in order to have some variance. Bryden vs. Robinson feud will continue to next PPV since there aren´t that many feuds that can be run with just 6 girls in the entire division.

Mick Muscles, Danny Rushmore & Jumbo Jackson over James Justice, The Force and Nicky Champion

I really like Sneer Corporation guys (minus Anger but he´s leaving) and want to build them up. I also like Justice and Champion Force too and figured that feud between these six might help all of them to pass time while my other top guys occupy each other´s attention. This feud will continue for sometime.

Bruce The Giant over Chris Caulfield

number one contender match. Bruce will be feuding with Enygma over the title but I will include Caulfield in the feud too and turn him heel. Bruce has only two months for his contract and I´m not sure if I want to (or could) re-sign him hence why Caulfield will be included to the feud.

USPW World Title

Enygma over Tyson Baine

Enygma retained against Baine and will move on to face Bruce The Giant and Chris Caulfield. Baine attacked and destroyed The Sheik (who made botched interference during the match) after the match. This will lead to T-Rex turning face in order to avenge Sheik and he and Baine will be feuding for next two or three months. Sheik on the other hand was given his walking papers as he wasn´t a good manager to start with, was bad backstage influence and also had bad chemistry with T-Rex.

Oh, and I am also building up a masked monster character known as Venom. So far he has won 2 squash matches, so its a new project. Hope to have him ready to feud with whoever the champion is in about a years time tho. Not going to reveal just yet who I have under the mask tho...

Is it Vader? :)

The rest of the stuff you have going on sounds SO much better than my game!! I'd be pumped to play that! Probably helps it seems you know your wrestling history better than me but then again that could cause problems as well.

New Promotion

I downloaded the latest modern-day mod and created a local promotion out of my new temporary home, British Columbia. Gave myself 2.5 million (hey, so what, I assumed I stayed away from Facebook stock ), no roster, no nothing, and started from the ground up. Actually managed to sign some relatively big "B" or "C" list names, including Kip James, Sean Morley, Charlie Haas, the Spirit Squad, Masahiro Chono, and Naomichi Marufuji. Also signed Jay Lethal. Sho Funaki was initially pegged to be a main eventer, but he has been a total flop so far. Right now we're touring, and everyone is signed to a touring contract.

I'm currently just eating through my money, but if this flops, I'll live and learn. After 4 shows, we managed to increase to Small. Not a big feat -- only needed to go to F+ in one region of Canada -- but a small victory. As it stands, running a D show is considered a huge success, D- more our goal, and anything in the Es tends to be a bit of a disappointment.

I'm a few months in now, and I now do a bi-weekly small show as our main event, and one monthly medium-sized show that in my head is the closest thing I'll ever get to a PPV. Just signed a deal with Google TV for a highlights show as well. Again, small victories.

Haas and Chono have been feuding since the start for the World Championship, Steve Lewington holds my Canadian Championship and is feuding with Marufuji, and the Spirit Squad is feuding with Adam Pearce and Chris Cage for the tag titles.

Interestingly enough, I started out putting James, Morley and Spears in a three-way feud, just to try and build some momentum for my main eventers. It just ended up working out that now, they've formed a stable, and are wreaking havoc on the entire promotion.

It's fun to start from the ground up! I'll eventually start CornellVerse games and probably take over the WWE in some early 2000s mod, but for now, I'm having fun.
