What's going on in your game?

Recommended Posts

Actually, they're the two that got the A rated match! :D

For the most part, not, not TOO many surprises. That said, there are still a few. Trent Peak has worked his way up the card nicely, and is currently the reigning Tri-State champion and has ROCKETED in popularity from C- to B in the Tri-State region in just under one month. Luis Montero is doing nicely as well, but... he's Luis Montero. You'd have to be a terrible booker for him to not start getting over. Admittingly I'm leaving him the midcard for a bit, partially because I'm worried about SWF snatching him up. They've already hit me a couple times...

Oh, and I brought in Burt Selleck AGES ago, and naturally I've pushed Sam Stragavelli to the top, and they frequently headline shows as well. The rest of the Main Event and Upper Midcard is mostly the same people (though Fran has fallen to UM), and Babyface Dave was slapped down to midcard while I pushed Giant Grimsley up to Upper Midcarder.

That said, I'm eagerly awaiting an opportunity to push the Boriken Love Machine to the moon. No matter who he faces, he pulls at least a C match out of them (as he's a freakin' opener!) I've considered teaming him with Luis Montero on a permanent basis, as I can only imagine matches between them and the Black Serpent Cult in a well structured feud could only be nothing short of amazing.

I love the Black Serpent Cult and am trying to figure out how to best use them. As part of a stable? As a bad-ass, psycho tag team? Ultimately split them up to feud? Lots of ideas that basically write themselves with their awesomeness.

And I agree on Montero. He's tough to keep down, forcing me to view him as a short-term trainer of sorts until he smartens up and moves to a bigger fed.

I originally tried to use the Black Serpent Cult (was about to call them "BSC", lulz) in a stable ran by the recently retired Suhail Assanti, with Sheik Mustafa rounding out the group. Figured middle east... serpents... it sorta made sense. Mostly, it was to be used as a vehicle to push Mustafa.

Of course, Mustafa then suffered a major concussion on an AAFW show which sidelined him for a year, only about a month after the stable formed. The Black Serpent Cult promptly turned on Assanti and have been flying solo (well, as a team) since then. They've recently won the tag belts off of Sam Stragavelli and Farmer Fran, so the Cult can go on to have several "off" defences against whoever, the idea being they've become an "unbeatable" team. Mostly just an excuse to get some prestige on the tag belts and give my midcard and lower faces the opportunity to try out new teams and get some exposure while putting the Cult over.

I've started GLW as a 0/0/0 promotion (was going to do a diary of it, but writing was taking up more time than I was really wanting, and I've been really wanting to play fast. haha), and am now going into May of 2012, and I'm starting to break out of being a Local into a Small promotion.

Happy Elwood was my first champion, but I wound up taking it off him quickly, because our semi-main's and midcard matches were doing better than his matches. Handsome Hank (Oscar Ozymandias) pinned Ekuma in a triple threat to win the title, and held onto it for almost a year before Extraordinario, Jr. took it off of him. He's held it himself now for 9 months, but Thomas Morgan will likely be turning heel soon, and will end up taking the belt off of him.

Well i gave up on my All American Florida Wrestling game, i jumped to cult too early, so i restarted, and it feels like the first four months of that game was like a giant plan, on what i should do

more or less doing the same stories as before except i've brought in Takanofuji and Alas Tua who are dominating the tag scene

my game goes like this

Crippler Ray Kingham has formed a stable called The Corporation(very original), including Giant Grimsley and Mighty Thor who are tag champs, Buford T Laramie as Kinghams mouth piece, along with Alex Pierce and Bobby Linquist, managed by Miss Bliss as the jobbers

They have been battling Dick the Devastator and Harlem Hardcore Society (Mr G and Dr Funkenstein), none have been successful at capturing the belts

meanwhile The Masked Patriot has been feuding with The Cult of the Black Raven, which is Saionji Omura, Kenzo Isozaki, Shigeta(can't remember last name) Ricky Han and Dai Shunichi (i think thats his last name)

Patriot has worked his way to Omura, when Saul Tambow came down to the ring and told Patriot that The Black Raven cult won't be stopped and that he is coming, which will lead to some kind of debut of thier real leader, may turn out to be Dick or Masked Patriot, summoned into the Masked Demon or something

my last event was Table Manners, where the main event plus a couple of other matches were table matches

AAFW Heavyweight

Table Match

Dick the Devastator vs Crippler Ray Kingham

Crippler won after the Savage Alliance(Takanofuji and Alas Tua) cost him the match, with the dominating team joining the Corporation

The Masked Patriot vs Saionji Omura

a normal singles match which ended with Omura, getting help from all members of the cult

Rico Loveland vs Mark Krogan

my user character, who is playing the role of a manipulator, getting people to do his bidding, with close ties to the cult

my next card is shaping up and is called Wargames, confirmed so far is

Crippler Ray Kingham vs Mark Krogan

The Wargames match

The Cult of the Black Raven vs Masked Patriot and four others, typical getting band of wrestler together story

Weapons on a pole match

Dick the Devastator vs The Savage Alliance

Dick wants revenge for his loss, and so wants a match under his rules

Started another PSW game. Nemesis & Eric Tyler are part of the company and have invested $2,500,000 between them. I'm going to run a monthly show, "Welcome To Pittsburgh", for a while and see how it goes.

So far I've signed;

Ant-Man

Hells Bouncer

Remmy Skye

Frankie Perez

Sayeed Ali

Slim V

Carl Batch

Cat Jameson

Billy Jack Shearer

Larry Wood

Got plans for them all. Ant-Man, Hells Bouncer & Billy Jack Shearer all debuted on my first show. Ant-Man, a face, made his debut claiming people are going to underestimate him due to his size and he's came to PSW to prove people wrong. Dead Bolt comes out and tells Ant-Man he's a "geek" and to go back from where he came because he doesn't belong in PSW. Ant-Man attacks and an impromtu match starts. Ant-Man wins with a Jackhammer but not before he powerslammed Dead Bolt over the top rope and waited for him to return to the ring. As Ant-Man heads backstage celebrating, Hell's Bouncer (under a mask) attacks him and destroys him.

Billy Jack Shearer debuts during a three-way main-event; Johnny Martin vs Grandmaster Phunk vs Frankie Future. Mitch Naess made the match at the start of the show and declared that the other Untouchables were banned from ringside and that if they showed up, Future loses the title. Martin & Phunk teamed, eventually taking Future out of the match. As they were about to lock-up, Shearer hit the ring and took both men out with a knockout punch (Phunk) and a huge boot to the face (Martin) By this point, Future has recovered and slides a table into the ring. Shearer lays Phunk on the table and Future hits a Future Bomb on Martin onto Phunk and through the table.

I've started a new game, with a new local promotion (0 popularity and prestige) and with shawn michaels as my business partner. (Obviously in a RW mod) We co-own the company, let's put it that way. It will be interesting,as i always like to add a backstory to all of my games. In this save, after his WWE retirement he decided to join forces with my avatar (a ficticional wrestling legend) to create a new promotion. So,we invested $500.000 to create a new sports entertainement company that will, eventually, fight head to head with the WWE.

I am a TCW failure. Got them to drop to cult right before Total Mayhem. Keep getting the dreaded "drop in pop" note. :(

Anyway, here is my advanced booking for Total Mayhem (I am 2 weeks away, so nothing should change.

Chance Fortune vs. Edd Stone vs. Freddy Huggins vs. Harry Allen © - All Action

Brent Hill vs. Insane Arsenal (John Anderson) vs. Troy Tornado

RockIno (Rocky Golden and Koshiro Ino) © vs. The New Wave (Heels, Syndicate members)

Aaron Andrews vs. Bach

Rick Law vs. Joshua Taylor © - International

Benny Benson vs. Wolf Hawkins

Eddie Peak vs. Joey Minnesota vs. Ricky Dale Johnson

Sam Keith vs. Tommy Cornell © World

The main storyline has been the reformation of the Syndicate with Cornell, Hawkins, Keith and the New Wave. At the start of the year Cornell and Hawkins defeated the Freedom Fighters for the right to restart the Syndicate. Keith was back onboard, and after a shocking Heel turn the New Wave was in as well. Keith won the title off of Golden, and had to defend it first off of the upstart Benny Benson. The young flier pushed Keith to the limit, and while he lost he got a post match hand shake from the champ. Cornell did not like this and Keith told him things were "not going to be how they were before". Later on that Total Wrestling, Keith interfered and helped Benny Benson get a HUGE win over Cornell. The next week he beat Cornell clean. Keith had become a face and Benson had become a Main Eventer in one motion.

The Syndicate needed a fifth, and Cornell new just who to recruit. Sammy Bach (now going by Bach) had won the TCW Money in the Bank match at Malice. Since then he had been continuously one upped by Aaron Andrews. It confused some as to why Cornell challenged Aaron Andrews to a PPV match at Where Angels Fear to Tread, but it soon became clear. After a ROUGH fatal four way that saw Keith barely defeat Benson, Peak and Vessey (right before Vessey got suspended), Cornell came out with Bach's Money in the Bank contract. The match was started, and Cornell stole Keith's title.

Some other matches are off shoots of this main story (RockIno vs. New Wave, Benson vs. Hawkins, Andrews vs. Bach). The Peak vs. Minnesota vs. Johnson match is tied as well, but only to how often the Freedom Fighters lost to the Syndicate. Minnesota, tired of RDJ holding him back, turned heel. Of course, without Vessey to torment, Peak picked the strongest around, a scorned RDJ, as part of his new heel persona of wanting to prove himself. The International and All Action matches are basic fued for the belts, and the Hill vs. Arsenal vs. Tornado is Brent Hill turns face, beats John Anderson in a fued. Hill challenges Tornado, but both are attacked by the "mysterious masked man" Insane Arsenal.

Sorry if the recap is confusing.:p

Stupid Baron Von Rambis is still on hiatus as of 1978... c'mon dude, I just want a big, hulking, alcoholic Russian to push! I WANTED Viktor Molotav, but that jerk is busy only working in Japan... for GCG under a written deal...

C'mon BVR, you're my only hope! Give up your failed dreams at a movie career and aid me in destroying the company that wouldn't let you drink a whole bottle of vodka before (and then after) every match!

So...

the moment Baron Von Rambis comes off haitus, I should sign both him AND "Polish Power" Bill Popinowski and team them up as, like... "The Warsaw Pakt", right?

Push BVR as a solo monster of destruction... or team him with another Warsaw Pact country native as the ultimate duo in APWF history? And then feud them with the soon to debut Call of the Wild tag team...

Communists vs. American Indians. Can't fail.

<p>APWF is one, ONE good show away in New England from hitting Cult (and with a C+ in the Tri-State and regularly drawing 5000 fans a show AND making 350k a month when we only hold shows there, we should be safe.)</p><p> </p><p>

Perfect timing too, as Crippler Ray Kingman has just announced AAFW is too small for him, and Wild Man Sullivan has been on the bench for months now since he said the same about CWB (the day after Gene Plumelli died, no less).</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of CWB... in my game, Walter Crowe took over after Plumelli died (guess Crowe's finances didn't COMPLETELY dry up before he sold AICW), and he promptly placed Inca (Pablo Guiterriez) as head booker. Crowe's big change to the product? Realism up from Medium to Key Feature, raising CWB up to 80% intensity.</p><p> </p><p>

With AICW now out of business, Crowe looks set to wrestle until he dies in the incredibly intense "new" CWB. His legs are down to 40% physical condition... a good breeze will end the 48 year old's long career.</p><p> </p><p>

Still, he saved the company. SWF roster raids, Plumelli dying, and Sullivan walking out left the company in dire straights. They were putting on D shows for a bit, and were below 10k in the bank for several months. Now they're putting on solid shows, making money, and are booked by a luchadore who debuted in 1948.</p>

<p>Playing the 77 C-Verse as well.</p><p> </p><p>

Started of as Owner/Booker of TWL set them up for the big time and had them turning a profit at about 135,000 a month. </p><p> </p><p>

Storylines I had were Rip Chord and F Bomb in a Texas Outlaw feud were two guys who I had built into two bad ass rebals one heel Rip and one face F Bomb. Rip would only defend his title on “Special Occasions” Such as after F Bomb was attacked usally by the newly turned and Rip’s goon Pat Duncan. Rip held the title for a little over a year with 16 defenses.</p><p> </p><p>

I had TWL take over a struggling HWA in a story line I started with DJ. Funkinstein Magnum Johnson and Mr. G coming in and causing trouble by attacking our upper card guys with weapons and it lead to Johnson interduceing his TWL Hardcore title. HWA V. TWL went on at TWL Wanted Died or Alive, in which TWL’s team of Rip Chord (Still Heel) F Bomb and Nero won in a bloody battle which meant the HWA guys had to leave TWL.</p><p> </p><p>

I havent had much of a storyline for the trag titles so they have stayed not relevant.</p><p> </p><p>

In October of 77 Gene Plumelli retired from the wrestling business leaving the booker and owner spots for CWB open, so with talent jumping and a creative brain freeze with the TWL Creative Team, I decided to quite and join CWB. I got the job and started to build Wild Man Sullivan as the monster he should be his feuds since have gotten to Boston have been American Patriot and 10 Punch. In the feud with Patriot it started with Sullivan attacking Patriot from behind for about three week which lead to Patriot calling him out on the CWB Wrestling TV show. Sullivan won in a match and attacked Patriot after the match (Kayfabe) Inurying Patriot out for one month. In the 10 Punch feud it was similar with Sullivan attacking 10 punch one time from behind the next week on CWB wrestling 10 Punch faced WMS in a match it was a high intense match that in a shocking twist shows Flapjack Flanagan run in and help Sullivan beat his partner and mentor. So this would start a feud between 10 punch and Flapjack and Sullivan which ended when Sullivan beat 10 Punch in a first blood match.</p><p> </p><p>

I have planed for American Patriot to return next month and have him turn heel joining Sullivan and Flapjack in a “If you cant beat them join them” type of deal but I need a new name for Patriot what could it be?</p>

Chris Jericho is our current reigning Universe champ, but his title is now in jeopardy against Christian, who won a king of the ring tourney and earned the right to face the champ at July's Summer Showdown(yeah, using WWE's old KOTR stip) Christian recently taunted Jericho, recalling their feuds in WWE and how Christian always beat Jericho. Christian has also had a good feud with Sheamus, pulling off B+ and A matches. Sheamus might just be a key in ruining Christian's chances, not taking losses very well.

Abyss has the Golden Ticket aka MITB. He has been waiting for the right moment to strike and win the Universe Championship.

Lashley and Shelton Benjamin have been in an intense feud over the last couple of months. Lashley, the heel, became heel when he attacked Shelton Benjamin out of jealousy: Shelton was once given a chance to fight for the Universe title.

Joshua Caleb, created wrestler, has had problems with the GM, Randy Savage for months. Josh has challenged Savage to a match at Summer Showdown!

<p>So, I hit Cult with APWF and should still go strong thanks to that C+ (nearly B-) overness in the Tri-State.</p><p> </p><p>

First thing I did, hiring spree. I've been aching to have an excuse to expand my roster, and being able to run a show for an hour and a half is the perfect one. I immediately started snatching up the following folks:</p><p> </p><p>

Cherokee Hawk</p><p>

The Shaman</p><p>

Coyote #1</p><p>

Coyote #2</p><p>

Bill Popinowski</p><p>

Roper Williams</p><p>

and, my prize signing...</p><p>

Crippler Ray Kingman</p><p> </p><p>

And then a handful of staff, though Dale Christian is likely worthy of note. Heck, he might end up in the ring again!</p><p> </p><p>

Efforts to sign Shigeta Takahashi away from GCG failed, as he wanted a written contract (and I'm 6 million shy from offering those...), and Wild Man Sullivan, with his low B- (74) average overness across America, said I wasn't big enough for him.</p><p> </p><p>

Afterwards, I took a second important step: declaring war on AAFW. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE AAFW... but so far they caused two of my guys to suffer VERY serious injuries (Masked Patriot and Sheik Mustafa), and there far more intense product is running guys like Giant Grimsley, Patriot, and Kenzo Isozaki into the ground physically. So screw that. I'm bigger than them, vastly more prestigious, I have more money, and I have more momentum. Meanwhile, I'll cede them Warren Hampton, who I'm letting go anways (at least for now)... after jobbing him to Bill Popinowski and Terry Carmen.</p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile, that jerk Baron Von Rambis is STILL on hiatus. Sigh... all I wanted was to team him with Popinowski...</p>

Pwg

I just started a game with Pro Wrestling Guerilla yesterday using the July data that I modified some myself, and it is by far the funnest game I have played so far as I have had a hard time settling with one game since purchasing it.

PWG World Champion Davey Richards is ducking having to defend the title against Bryan Danielson, who left PWG as champion and thus never lost it. Now that he is back he wants his rightful shot at getting it back. However, at the last show "An Appeal to BP" Richards decided to instead defend his belt against Candice LeRae forcing PWG to allow it or otherwise get charged with a hate crime despite LeRae not technically being eligible for a title shot.

As a side note, I decided to use "An Appeal to BP" as the perfect show to introduce the new tag team of Joey Ryan and Austin Aries, who I had Paul London refer to as apparent victims of the oil spill during a promo.

My next show, the third I will have booked, is going to be titled Discombobulation and feature the top singles wrestlers in tag team action and the top tag team wrestlers in singles action. The main event will feature the past four and current PWG World Champions as PWG World Champion Davey Richards and the man he beat for the belt Kenny Omega face off against the man who vacated it before Omega won it, Bryan Danielson and the man he beat for it, the longest reigning champion Chris Hero. In addition the top four tag teams in PWG, Champions Peligro Abejas (London and El Generico), The Cutler Brothers, The Young Bucks and The Motor City Machine Guns will compete in a series of four "randomly" selected singles encounters against each other.

My favorite thing about this game has been progressing storylines (in my head, don't use storylines in game) through putting certain workers on color commentary and imagining them saying certain things.

Continuing my 0/0/0/0 startup saga...

Early 2017, and we've been a steady Regional for six and a half years, but only in the last two - once the Mid South was firmly ensconced at C+ popularity - have we started moving outside, now running two shows a month in the Mid South to build up our war chest as we run two shows a month elsewhere, rotating through the same six regions.

It's a slow approach to hitting Cult, but having gone from just north of $4m at the start of 2016 to just above $6m at the start of 2017 - and continuing to turn a profit - I'm happy with the approach. It's likely that we'll be able to move some talent to written deals and set up house shows the moment we hit Cult.

Current main event crop: My user avatar, the Human Bullet, was designed as a big wheel in a Local and Small promotion who could comfortably midcard at Regional, with 50s in most start, an 80 in Consistency, etc. His weakest average now is 59 with his best at 77, and most of them break the 70 mark - I guess I got lucky on potential. Consequently, he's never been far from the main event.

He's joined by Akima Brave and Mr Electricity Kashmir Singh - collectively known as the tag team Electric Boogaloo - both members of the Flying Stones reunited, Clark Alexander, Fumihiro Ota, Alicia Strong, Jaime Quine, and the just-back-from-hiatus Buddy Garner.

We're not yet the super indy, but we're getting there. Our proudest boast is that we have never failed to win out in any regional battle we've faced. Our first big loss - KC Glenn - has gone on to be TCW's golden boy and multiple-time Young Wrestler of the Year (Jaime Quine has snagged Female Wrestler of the Year) and Ernest Youngman is doing almost as well in the same place.

Up and coming talent include the Lucha Legends tag team - Amazing Fire Fly and Extraordinario Jr - and Brooke Tyler and Laura Flame's duo.

I've got a regrettably small proportion of the original roster still with me; two of the Paratroopers, the ever-reliable Women's World team of Amber Allen and Connie Morris, and Roxy Kitten, plus my user avatar. That said, about half the roster have been with us for five years or more, and our backstage morale is usually 100% before random bonuses.

This promises to be very satisfying when we hit Cult...

One of the more interesting stories I've seen in this thread.

Anywhooo...

Guess what company just held the best show the entire North American continent has seen in the last year and a half?

I'll give you a hint: it ain't one of them sissy National companies, CWF, SWF, or OLLIE.

Nope, APWF!!!

And all because of Terry Lambert... and Sam Strong...

They bust out with the best match I have EVER had in TEW (still short of A*), and we got ourselves a nice A show for our efforts.

Honestly, the momentum and overness in most of APWF has just gotten silly. I currently have a total of one person on the "Who's Not" list, as everyone in the company has just sorta snowballed up in momentum thanks to each other. I'm thinking I'm going to start signing a for more guys like Bill Popinowski, as I honestly feel I can push ANYONE in this company without too much worry.

On the downside, while I have a supremely talented and over roster (over a third of my in-ring talent is B- or more over in the Tri-State... no idea how healthy that is and how much of it is my abilities or just a general abundance of talent in the 70s), all isn't quite well yet. I accidentally missed an opportunity to expand my TV coverage for the Summer season, so I'll have to wait another month to start spreading out. I have a freakin' B- in the Tri-State... and my next highest is a D in New England. That said, I clearly have the talent for a National sized company. It's just gonna be a long time till I get there. But when I do... oh, SWF, a reckoning shall come...
