Personally I would hate hate hate it. Cross over does nothing for me, and it would turn me off fast to suddenly see real guys showing up in a CVerse diary

What about a C-Verse version of the workers? That's more along the lines of what I'm thinking. Kind of like a worker that makes an allusion of his real world counterpart.

Do you mean you'll be writing a C-verse worker who already exists as a RW equivalent, or you'll be creating C-Versed Indy workers?

If the former, it can work, though speaking for myself I don't tend to like those as much as a character that takes a real wrestler as a starting point and moves off. If the latter... my main question would be why.

I think that with the age of the game, something which mixes up the game/diary is a great thing. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I've been playing the 1997 mod as WWF. From December 1997 to September 1998 things almost went identical to how things went in reality but I made the decision to have Shawn Michaels just be injured for six months instead of retiring. So I'm seeing if anyone would be interested in reading that diary.

What I'm thinking is that I have a render of a real world worker that cannot be denied. It is them no questions asked. Well, I'd take that and... I mean, for example, Joe Sexy has a (canonical) alter ego, Joe Money.

Joe Money is clearly Joe Sexy wearing the Million Dollar Man's suit.

Now, if you're taking that as a starting point, there are a lot of things you can do. You can have Joe Sexy just do DiBiase's standard catchphrases and run some of his old storylines, which is probably going to be pretty boring, because everyone saw that when it happened to the real guy -- and kind of incoherent, because why is Joe Sexy ripping off a man who never existed in the C-Verse?

Or you can say, "all right, this picture is telling me that Joe Money is a rich guy... what can he do that makes that fact important to his character?" And there are DOZENS of things you can do from there. Joe could use his money to bribe authority figures to further his career, or wrestlers to team up with him/work as bodyguards/throw matches/etc. He could think he's better than everyone else because he's rich. He could blow his money on extravagant purchases. He could threaten to buy the company. Heck, he could even be a face who helps people out with his wealth. And so on, and so on.

Now, in a basic sense, Ted DiBiase did a lot of those things. But also, Rich Money could do a lot of those things if you wrote him that way. Dumfrey Pinn down in Australia could do a lot of those things if you wrote him that way. Dunton Hall... and so on.

Every other wrestler in history (real or C-Verse) who's worked a rich guy gimmick could do a lot of these things. The question is, how is THIS guy going to do it uniquely, in a way that makes him his own character? If you have him go out there saying "everyone has his price", buying his own diamond-studded title belt, teaming up with a faux-Virgil... well, yeah, nobody wants to see that. But if you take inspiration from the things that the Million Dollar Man did, for example, and then do new things in a similar vein, that could very well work -- and it could lead you to a new character for your guy.

[The scene opens within the mansion owned by Richard Eisen. The owner of Supreme Wrestling Federation has been a recluse for the last few years as he has allowed others to run the empire that he built into the greatest wrestling empire in the world. He is seated upon his large armchair within the library with his fingers drumming against the polished wood surface of the desk to his right.]

[seated in this room with him are two of his sons: Eric Eisen, the SWF World Champion and Jerry Eisen, one of the announcers for SWF Supreme TV. Both of these men are looking at their father with almost eager anticipation of what his next words will be. The elder Eisen lifts his hand from the desk and brings it to settle in his lap.]

Richard Eisen

"Good evening, my sons. It is good to see you both in good health. Congratulations on your victory, Eric. I know you will prove able to carry this company into the next decade. That is something that I brought the two of you here to talk about. That is, the future of this company that has carried the Eisen name for a very long time."

[both sons open their mouths to speak but Richard raises his right hand to silence both of them. His authority is absolute in this instance and their mouths close the instant his hand is raised. That hand is lowered back to the desk, drumming there for a moment before he begins to speak again.]

Richard Eisen

"As I am sure that both of you know, Peter Michaels will be unable to carry out his duty as Head Booker of this company due to the heart attack that he suffered following Christmas Clash. It is a matter of inconvenient timing as we are coming off one of the better storylines that we have seen in a long time. The loss of Peter will affect our momentum. However, this leaves open one of the top positions in the company. It is a position that must be filled immediately. That is one of the reasons that I brought both of you here."

[Richard pauses and watches as his sons nearly salivate over the opportunity to take over as Head Booker. There was the election storyline several years ago where both men had the opportunity to take over but that storyline bombed with the fans. Richard begins to speak again.]

Richard Eisen

"I have done some very careful thinking and planning since the heart attack and I have decided on who should take over the spot that Peter Michaels has vacated."

[Richard slowly raises that right hand and points over the left shoulder of Eric Eisen where I have been standing within the background, drenched in the shadows. Both Jerry and Eric slowly look over to where Richard points and I step free from the shadows and into the light. I watch in silence as the shock pours over the faces of my two brothers. Then I speak one single word into the light.]

(OOC: Second part of the SWF opening)

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/SWF2/RichardEisen_JT.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/SWF2/JackAvatar_ew.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/SWF2/EricEisen_alt4_JT.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/SWF2/JerryEisen_alt1.jpg

[i stood inside the Eisen Mansion and watched the shocked expressions on my brothers' faces and the slight look of pride in the eyes of my father. I held a stern expression, not showing any emotion for the present moment. I walked across the pool of light and moved to stand beside my father, placing my hand on top of his. The two of us looked at the slightly dropped jaws of my brothers and it was my father that broke the silence.]

Richard Eisen

"Eric, Jerry, you know this man from our past. No, he has not been a part of the Supreme Family. However, this man is my son, your brother. He has spent a lifetime growing up not tainted with this promotion, with this lifestyle. That means that he has a lot to offer. He has a fresh eye and that is what I want for this company. However, he is going to need your help. I trust that the two of you will give him everything that he needs."

[i watched as the first one to acknowledge me was Jerry. That is no surprise. He was always the more practical one. He was always the one that I could rely on if I needed any assistance in the past. He rose and offered his hand to me and I accepted it, meeting his eyes with a stern look but then a smile.]

Jerry Eisen

"Whatever you need."

[i nodded and then turned my eyes to Eric, the company's World champion. I could easily tell from his expression that Eric felt blindsided. He expected that this company would be turned over to him. But as an in-ring talent that would be a mistake. The best bookers are not in-ring talents because those tend to favor themselves. Eric gave a slight sneer and pushed to his feet.]

Eric Eisen

"Yeah, whatever."

[Richard gave an audible sigh at the words that came from Eric. His eyes turned slowly up toward me and I could see that he felt like a failure when it came to the spoiled attitude that Eric has. I gave his hand a pat.]

Jack Eisen

"I am sure that we will all work very well together. Thank you for coming this evening."

[Eric immediately turned and walked away from the room, pushing open the door and heading out to who knows where. Probably the bottle and a prostitute, right? That wouldn't surprise me from Eric. Jerry leaned down and hugged his father, giving him a kiss on the cheek. He nodded to me and we gave that man-hug that consists of a handshake pulled into a brief touch of chests. Then I watched as Jerry Eisen left the room, leaving me alone with my father.]

Jack Eisen

"Thank you for this opportunity, father."

Ricard Eisen

"Do not make me disappointed."

[i looked at the authority returned to my father's eyes and I nodded. I would not let him down. I would not let this company down. I would not let myself down.]

My name is Jack Avatar. For the last three years I had been on a developmental deal with the Supreme Wrestling Federation. Anyhow... on my debut I had been used... or rather... supposed to be used to put over Remo Richardson in a squash match. However, he decided to try out an unplanned spot in our match. He went for the leaping elbow drop... and came short about a foot. Fast forward a couple more minutes into our match, we're in a collar and elbow tie up, he tells me to pin him because he thinks his arm is broken. I do it. That was the end of my SWF tenure.

Richard Eisen said he'd make sure i'd never wrestle in a big promotion again. I tried to get work with CGC. NOTBPW. TCW. Even burning hammer. USPW. No one would take me in. Even 4C shunned me. I decided if I was going to be blacklisted I would have start my own promotion. To get away from the bad reputation surrounding me, I decided to head to a different country.

I scanned the free agents in Mexico, Australia, the UK, and Europe. I thought it over for a few weeks, and decided to jump to Australia. They had three or four "name" promotions in Australia, Three in Mexico and a small handful in the Europe and UK regions. I decided that UK was out. They already had ROF, 21CW, and even a hardcore promotion. It did not seem like there was anything left to do over there.

That left Mexico, Europe, and Australia. Mexico had a pretty decent free agency pool, but they also had three fairly large promotions with varying styles. I felt it would not be a wise decision.

That left Europe and Australia. They both have a few decent talents who were not working regulaurly. They both had pretty shallow competition. Either way it went, I standed a good chance of creating the biggest company in the region. In the end the decision was quite difficult... So I decided not to make the decision. I picked up my lucky half dollar coin. This coin would be determining my future, and possibly the face of professional wrestling of an area. I flipped the coin and stared at it, looking at the side it landed on I couldn't help but grin. This could be the start of something special.

  • 2 weeks later...
Why would Remo ask you to pin him because his arm is broken, when he could just as easily pin you? :p

This. You could say Eisen blamed you for Remo's injury, and spread rumors of you being a hazard in the ring. And you know, you could say you were an Australian developmental talent who signed with SWF for three years and is coming home in shame...

THE CLUB - SUFFERING BY INVITATION ONLY.

---

They compete in The Club™ for a variety of reasons.

Some came for the competition.

Some came for revenge.

Some begged and pleaded for the opportunity just to be allowed inside.

Some came for the exposure of being on national television.

Some were there for the money alone and Lord knows, the network threw it at them by the bucket-load.

Some simply came because it was their destiny.

And for one man, it was a means to an end that nobody would see coming.

At least, not until it was too late.
